He brushed back her hair, inspecting her mark.

"Sh*t, that actually looks real."

Kristin watched as he smirked at her.

"Let's get this over with," he teased, as he pulled her in for a hug.

"Couldn't you put a shirt on first?" Kristin sighed, as she was pulled into his chest.

"Actually, this way his scent will be stronger," Jess pointed out from the side.

Right, she was still here.

Kristin bit her lip as she tried not to focus on Ryder's arms around her.

When he pulled away she relaxed.

He raised a brow at her, noticing her reaction to him.

Kristin gave him a look that basically said 'shut up'.

He crossed his arms, looking at her closely.

"Yep, you definitely smell like me," he winked.

Kristin was going to roll her eyes, when something caught her attention.

She squinted at Ryder's side, noticing a tattoo over his skin.

"What's that?" she asked curiously, pointing to his side.

He uncrossed his arms, which covered up the tattoo again.

"I don't know what you're talking about," he shrugged.

She narrowed her eyes at him, deciding to let it go for now.

If they wanted to get there in time, they'd have to leave right now anyways.

"Okay, you two need to get going," Jess said, as if reading her thoughts, "Ryder, go put a shirt on."

Kristin was walking towards the car door when a blur passed her.

"Ryder, I'm driving!" she yelled as he hopped in the driver's seat and shut the door.

"If you drive, we're going to be late. Now, get in the car," he gave her a pointed look.

She took a step back, crossing her arms.

While her father hated when she wasn't punctual, she was mad that Ryder was using his wolf abilities against her.

"Kristin, get into the car," Ryder gave her a hard look, while turning the keys to start it.

Kristin grumpily made her way to the passenger seat, making sure to take her sweet time.

"Hurry up," Ryder grumbled, impatiently.

As soon as her butt touched the seat the car took off.

"Ryder!" she snapped as she quickly closed the door.

"That's what you get for being purposefully slow."

"It wasn't on purpose, I'm a human, remember? I don't have super fast wolf reflexives," she said innocently.

"I'm not stupid Kristin, no one's that slow."

"I disagree," Kristin said, turning on the radio, "I think you are stupid."

"Good one," he said, rolling his eyes.

"You started it," Kristin replied, knowing she was getting on his nerves.

"Can you not sound like a five year old for two seconds, please?"

"Make me."

He turned to look at Kristin and she gave him a teasing smile.

He looked back to the road, shaking his head, while his lips twitched upward.

"Kristin, it's so nice to see you!" her mom pulled her in for a hug.

"I see Ryder's finally marked you," her father said after hugging her, and probably smelling her.

He eyed Kristin's neck, where the 'mark' was hardly visible behind her hair.

She had tried to cover it the best she could. Although it did look real, she was still wary of her father finding out it was somehow fake.

Kristin nodded, glancing at Ryder.

It was now seven o'clock and dinner was ending.

Kristin and Ryder were saying goodbye to her parents.

"Nice seeing you, Ryder," her father said, shaking his hand.

"Thank you for having us, Alpha John," Ryder replied, nodding.

Kristin tried not to give him a weird look, what with her parents being right there.

"Please, call me John," Kristin's father smiled at Ryder. "You are my son-in-law, after all."

Kristin almost choked on air.

Her father had never ever told anyone to 'just call him John' before. It was a huge deal, since addressing an Alpha by his title was a sign of respect. Not to mention mandatory.

Kristin wondered what on earth made her father say that. Especially to Ryder.

"Thank you, John," Ryder smiled at him, and in that moment, Kristin really did admire his acting skills.

"I'm so happy you two found each other," her mother grinned at them.

"I'm so excited for grandchildren!"

"Mom!" Kristin gasped, "I'm eighteen!"

"Not right now silly," her mother hugged her again, "But soon!"

"Mom," Kristin said, trying to shut her up.

"Alright, we'll see you later," Ryder said, grabbing Kristin's hand and leading her out the door.

Her parents waved.

As soon as they got to the car, Kristin pulled her hand away from Ryder.

"That was embarrassing," she muttered.

"At least they didn't ask about the wedding," Ryder said, pulling out of the driveway.

"My parents are so annoying sometimes," she put her head in her hands.

"They're parents, that's what they do when they care about you."

Kristin picked her head up, looking at Ryder.

He was refusing to meet her gaze, staring out the window.

"I guess so," Kristin said softly, causing his hands to loosen their hold on the wheel.

His reaction made her curious to ask about his parents. Yet, she didn't know how to ask.

Kristin opened her mouth, trying to think of something to say, but closed it.

Instead she decided to change the subject.

"So, are you going to tell me what your tattoo is of?"

Ryder glanced at her, before looking ahead again.

"Why do you want to know?" his voice was even, and Kristin took that as a good sign.

"Because I'm curious," she shrugged.

He made a noise in his throat.

"And maybe I have a secret tattoo also," she finished, smirking at him.

"I don't have a secret tattoo, you're just oblivious," he replied, suspicious at her tone.

"Okay, if yours isn't a secret, then tell me what it is," she smiled at him.

"You don't really have a secret tattoo, do you?"

She bit her lip, "I can't tell you, it's a secret."

"Oh, really?"

"Mhmm."

"You're lying."

"No I'm not."

"Yes, you are. You suck at lying by the way."

"I do not!"

"Kristin, I can tell when you're lying."

"Really?" she asked, sarcastically.

"Yes. Whenever you do, you bite your lip."

She scoffed, wondering how he had picked that up.

"Maybe I bite my lip for other reasons," she shrugged.

"So you're trying to flirt with me?" he grinned at her.

"Yes, that's it," she rolled her eyes.

"Well, it's not working," he said, messing with her.

"Excuse me? I'm actually really good at flirting. It's called manipulating guys."

"Is that so?" he asked as he pulled in the driveway of their house.

"Yes."

Kristin followed Ryder into the living room, determined to prove her point.

He gave her a weird look when she sat down really close next to him on the couch.

"Can I help you?"

She shrugged, "I'm cold."

She snaked her arm around his, snuggling into his side.

"And you're so hot," she continued, biting her lip to keep from laughing.

He raised an eyebrow at her, "Are you trying to flirt with me?"

"I don't know what you're talking about," she said in a soft voice, trailing her fingers up his arm.

"I told you, it won't work on me," he smirked.

She smirked back, watching his jaw clench.

"If you're a guy, it'll work on you."

She slowly grabbed the bottom of his shirt, lifting it until she could see--

His hand flew to hers, figuring out what she was doing.

"Nice try," he said smirking.

Dang. She had been this close to seeing his tattoo.

"Two can play this game," he shot back, his hand moving to just above Kristin's knee.

"What are you doing?" she asked, feeling the warmth of his hand through her dress.

"If you're a girl, it'll work on you," he mocked her.

She laughed, "It won't."

He leaned in towards her, causing her to hold her breath.

"Are you sure about that?" he whispered against her neck.

She shuddered, feeling his hot breath on her skin.

"It won't work," she argued, her voice weaker than before.

No, this had to stop!

She couldn't let him win!

His hand slowly traveled up her thigh.

"You know what this is called?" he asked, his lips brushing her skin.

She tried to remain calm, however it was really hard, considering Ryder's close proximity.

"What?" she weakly snapped.

"Revenge," he said, using his wolf speed to get up and walk out of the room in just seconds.

"D*ck," she muttered, angry that he had won.

"Don't swear, it's not attractive, sweetheart," she heard him call.

She rolled her eyes, leaning into the couch.

She was going to get back at him.
