Kristin and her younger brother, Marcus, were complete opposites.

Kristin had her mother's long, blonde hair and her father's bright blue eyes. Marcus had her father's dark brown hair and her mother's green eyes.

In addition, while she was human, her brother was a wolf.

It was hard when she didn't get her wolf at fourteen when everyone was shifting. Even worse when her brother shifted two years later when he was fourteen. She was glad he got a wolf though, there was definitely more pressure since he was next in line for Alpha.

She never had a wolf, yet her brother's was way above average, being super big and fast. It had Alpha blood after all.

Thankfully, her family didn't care whether she had a wolf or not, since her mother was human herself. That's why Kristin was half Werewolf.

Her father was a dominant Alpha Werewolf, her mother a human. Therefore her and her brother were half bloods.

Half bloods usually shifted late, at age eighteen or not at all. She turned eighteen three months ago, and nothing.

After a couple weeks she finally recovered from the disappointment.

She was fine now, honestly she would rather be a part of the human world rather than the wolf world. It was a surprise however, that her brother shifted when he was fourteen like a full blood would, instead of eighteen. Maybe it was the Alpha blood, her family thought.

So basically Kristin and her younger brother were complete opposites.

This was why she tried staying out of the pack business and wolf world. It was hard because she was living with two werewolves; her father and brother. One of them was running the entire pack around them of two hundred and fourteen wolves.

Kristin was glad when she found her 'human friends,' as they called each other.

Allison was completely one hundred percent human. Her parents divorced when she was young, and her mother remarried her current-husband: a werewolf who was her mate.

Logan was half wolf like Kristin: his father was human and mother was wolf. However, he was one of the few half bloods who did shift when he turned eighteen four months ago.

Kristin, Logan, and Allison had been friends for over ten years by now though, so they were nice enough to keep him in their 'human group'. Logan would rather hang out with them anyway, admitting that the other wolves their age were complete jerks.

Kristin was shopping at the mall with her two friends currently, her and Allison were about to go into a makeup store.

Logan was flipping out.

"Ugh, do you guys have to go in there?" he pointed into the store like it was the most horrid place on earth.

"Uh, yes!" Allison replied in a 'duh' tone, widening her brown eyes at Logan.

He looked to Kristin with a pleasing expression.

"Sorry Logan, we won't be long," she chuckled as he ran his hand through his dirty blonde hair roughly.

"I really need more guy friends," he muttered.

"No, we're all you need," Allison flipped her short light brown hair over her shoulder, and nudged his arm with her shoulder because he was so tall.

This caused Logan to chuckle and ruffle Allison's hair.

"Hey!" she squirmed out of his reach and hid behind Kristin.

Kristin and Allison finished purchasing their makeup and hurried out of the store, finding Logan sitting on a nearby bench, scarfing down a pretzel.

"You couldn't go two minutes without eating?" Kristin asked, teasing.

"You guys were taking forever and I was hungry," he shrugged, shoving the last bite into his mouth.

"Kristin." A man approached her from behind.

Kristin had almost forgot about her guards, almost. She had gotten used to the fact that they were always there, whenever she left the pack territory.

"Mmhm?" she replied, facing him.

"Your father wants you back as soon as you're finished."

"Okay," she sighed looking back to her friends.

"I wonder what for?" Allison wondered aloud.

"I have no idea, but we better head back." They grabbed their bags and started walking towards the mall exit, Kristin's two guards following quietly behind.

Kristin was a bit curious as to why her father had called her back home. He had done it before, but not in quite a while.

She knew better than to test his patience though. Not only was he her father but her Alpha as well. Even though she wasn't a wolf she could feel his powerful wolf that demanded respect from his pack.

Kristin drove home after dropping Allison and Logan off at their houses.

She liked how they all lived pretty close together within their pack.

She parked her car into the garage and quickly typed in the code to enter through the front door.

She walked through the kitchen, grabbing an apple to snack on as she made her way to the living room.

The house was silent yet that didn't mean no one was home. It was just because their house was freakishly big.

As she walked past the living room intercom, it buzzed and she heard her father's voice telling her to meet him in his office.

Of course he could hear her downstairs.

She headed up the steps, leading to the second story, where her father's office was.

Nerves were forming in her stomach from anticipation as she tried to think of what her father would want to talk to her about.

She thought it could possibly be about her accounting work she did for him.

Kristin was really good with numbers and math so seeing as she couldn't be a fighter or tracker- she didn't have a wolf- she handled the pack's financial work. It was basically her job and role in the pack.

Once she got to the familiar wooden door with wood carvings of wolves and trees, she quickly knocked, knowing her father probably heard her approaching anyway.

"Come in," a deep voice that belonged to her father, Alpha John, spoke.

"Father," she nodded her head as he motioned for her to sit in the chair in front of his desk.

"How was your day, Kris?" he leaned back in his chair, awaiting her response. She hadn't seen him all day, so she had expected his usual question.

"It was great, I went to the mall with Allison and Logan," she said even though she knew he already knew. Her guards always kept him posted.

He nodded, giving his daughter a small smile before diving into business.

"So tomorrow another pack is coming. I want you to be ready to greet them when they arrive."

"Is it the pack you were talking about at the last meeting?" Kristin asked, curiously.

Her father nodded. "This will be a very important meeting with the Nightfall Pack. We will be discussing an alliance and I want to make sure you and Marcus will be ready to join your mother and I tomorrow afternoon in welcoming the Alpha and his son."

Kristin nodded her head, "I'll be ready."

"Good. They should get here around one in the afternoon. I'll have someone alert you when they enter the borders."

She nodded her head again.

"Is there anything else?" she wondered, trying to read her father's secret thoughts.

He shook his head, "No, that is all for now, you may leave.

Goodnight Kris."

She smiled as Alpha- mode switched to father- mode.

"Goodnight father, love you."

Later that night, Kristin found it difficult to get to sleep. It was a big day tomorrow after all, with the neighboring pack coming.

She couldn't help but wonder what would go down between her pack and the other pack.

She knew her father was hiding something from her. He wasn't telling her all of the details of the meeting tomorrow, which was expected. He often kept certain pack business from her.

However, she was oddly curious as to what her father was choosing to not tell her.
