《Seventeen One-Shots》(1) |Joshua| (REVISED)

Your best friend was helping you get ready for a date with the guy you had a huge crush on.
Of course you didn't actually confess to him...nor did you actually tell your best friend about you having a crush on anyone...She found his name doodled in the corner of a piece of paper you gave her to write notes on.
She had given you a week to ask him out yourself or she'd do it for you...and by 'do it for you', she meant 'help you with assisted social suicide.'
He clearly agreed to it but you worried about what your best friend had actually said to him.
"Are you ever gonna tell me what you actually told him?" You questioned as she tugged on your hair, tying it into long pigtail braids. "No...Why? Are you worried?" She smirked. "Uh...Yeah." You snapped. "What could I possibly say to Josh while confessing to him for you that could be that bad?" "Knowing you...You probably told him that I wanna sit on his face." You cringed. "He's Josh. That would scare him away and y'all wouldn't being going to the park for a romantic date...now would y'all?" She snickered. "I guess you're right." You sighed.
"Well...My work is done." Your fashion savvy best friend said proudly, handing you a mirror.
As you were about to look in the mirror, your doorbell rang and you slammed the mirror into your lap, unable to contain your excitement. "Wait right here!" Your best friend squealed running out the door. A few minutes passed then you heard your name being called. You took a deep breath and walked down stairs.
There stood the guy you had liked for the better part of 2 years, in a button down, slacks and a picnic basket hanging off of his arm.

You were so captivated by his stunningly perfect appearance that you almost missed the last stair step. You caught yourself quickly and stared at your best friend with wide eyes. "I could've died." You mumbled, straightening out your dress, trying to regain your composure.
"You look great (y/n)." Josh said with a sweet smile. "Thank you." You and your best friend said in unison. You slowly turned to your best friend. "Why'd you thank him?" You asked with a slight sneer. "He acknowledged my great work...Without me, you'd be a hot mess." She said bluntly. "I think she looks good no matter what." Josh said sweetly, smiling down at you.
You felt your chest tighten up.
"Well...You crazy kids better get going. I can't miss you if you aren't gone." Your best friend shoved the you and Josh out of your own home.
You and Josh walked to the park where the 2 of you would be having a picnic packed by Josh. "I hope peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are fine...I couldn't think of anything better to pack..." Josh sounded nervous. "That's fine...You didn't use grape jelly though...did you?" "No...It's strawberry...Are you allergic to grapes?" You nodded. "This may make me sound stupid but I didn't know there was such an allergy." He laughed sheepishly, spreading a picnic blanket over a picnic table.
"It's fine...It's not a very common thing." You laughed shyly.
"I would've layed this out on the ground but you're wearing a dress..." Josh's cheeks got a little pink. "Thank you for being a gentleman." You smiled, sitting down.
The 2 of you sat, eating sandwiches and just talking.
"You know, I was really surprised when (y/bff/n) asked me out for you." Josh said, avoiding eye contact. "Really?" You asked, doing the same. "I don't know...I just wasn't expecting you to like me...The way she did it was rather surprising too...I almost said no...I'm glad I didn't though."

Your heart dropped. What did that snake say to him? How gory was it? How gross was it? How detailed did she get?
"W-w-what did she say?" "She said that you were obsessed with me and that you wanted to...um...do things to me." Josh's face got really red. "But then I thought about it...and figured that it was just her being a typical best friend." Josh laughed. "I'm gonna kill her." You shook your head. "I'll pay your bail." Josh laughed sweetly.
