2 months after the honeymoon

"Are you sure you will be okay?" Luka asked as he put on his coat. He had to go to the office for some kind of emergency but I had a doctor coming to the house. I had been nauseous and dizzy for a while and I didn't have enough strength to go out to a doctor's office.

"I'll be okay. Caterina should be here in a second," I assured. We had grown close since the lunch at Giovanni's. Being the only two girls married to mafia men will bring anybody together.

"Just don't try to go up the stairs until she gets here. I'll be back as soon as possible. If the doctor gets here before me, call me and tell me everything," he stressed as I pushed him out of the door.

"Relax," I said, giving him a peck on the lips.

"I'll relax when I know you are alright," he said as he stood on the porch.

"I'm fine," I assured, "Just hurry up and come home."

"Will do," he said giving me another peck on the lips before walking out of the door. I walked to the living room and sat down on the couch and turned the TV on.

I groaned when I heard the buzzer for the front gate. I got up and hit the intercom button.

"Who is it?" I asked.

"It's me," Caterina said. I didn't respond, I just opened the gate and went back to the couch. I took a deep breath as a wave of nausea hit me. I quickly stood up and ran to the bathroom and threw up the food Luka made me eat this morning. I stood up and flushed the toilet before walking over to the sink.

"Are you okay?" Caterina asked, rushing into the bathroom. I gave her a thumbs up as I rinsed my mouth out with mouthwash.

"I think I'm pregnant," I said after spitting out the mouthwash.

"Oh wow," She gasped, "Does Luka know?"

"No," I sighed as I walked out of the bathroom.

"I thought you had the implant," she said as she followed behind me.

"I got it taken out a couple months before the wedding. I was bleeding for a month straight," I explained.

"What time is your appointment?" She asked as we sat down on the couch.

"She should be here in about ten minutes," I said closing my eyes.

"I'm going to get you a cold rag and and some water," she said, standing up.

"No no," I stopped her, "Just sit here with me and wait for that gate to buzz."

"You just vomited, you need hydration," she protested. I heard her walk out into the kitchen. I grabbed the throw blanket from the back of the couch and draped it over myself.

"Drink this," Caterina demanded as she came back into the living room with a bottle of water.

"If I throw this up I will spin kick you," I threatened as I took the bottle from her hand.

"I'm not scared of you," she said with a smile as she sat down next to me. I just looked at her as I drank some of the water.

After a few minutes of us sitting on the couch watching TV, we heard the buzzer for the gate. Caterina quickly got up and walked to the intercom.

"It's the doctor," she said as she came back into the living room.

"Pass me that folder," I said pointing to a Manila folder on the coffee table.

"What is it?" Caterina asked as she passed it to me.

"A NDA," I answered, "She can't discuss the results or this visit but I need to make sure she doesn't tell anybody about how I look or anything."

"You guys really keep a tight ship," Caterina said, impressed.

"We have to," I said with a shrug. She was about to respond but was cut off by the doorbell. She walked back around to the front door and I heard it open.

"Hello Mrs. Ricca," the doctor said as she walked around to the front of the couch. I saw her eyes get wide for a split second as she looked at my tatted body. I reached my hand out and she shook it.

"So your husband says you have been nauseous and fainting" She said with a soft voice.

"You fainted?" Caterina asked, glaring at me.

"Just a few times," I said, waving her off. She just continued to glare at me.

"Is there any chance that you are pregnant?" The doctor asked. I just nodded. She nodded and sat down next to me on the couch.

"First things first, let's get your blood pressure and temperature," she said, opening her doctor's bag. I sat up straight and put both of my feet on the floor as she wrapped the blood pressure cuff around my arm. She stuck a thermometer under my tongue before taking my blood pressure.

She pulled the cuff off of my arm and the thermometer out of my mouth when she was done.

"Everything looks great. I just need a urine sample from you," she said, handing me a cup. I stood up and took the cup before walking to the bathroom. I quickly made eye contact with Caterina and nodded towards the NDA on the coffee table and she just nodded.

"I'll have the results by the end of today," She said as I handed her the cup.

"You can't give me anything for the nausea or the dizziness?" I asked as I walked her to the door.

"Not until I know the results. Just stay hydrated and rested," she said with a smile. I nodded as she walked out of the door.

"Have a good day," I said to her. She thanked me and told me she'd call me later. I closed the door and walked back into the living room with Caterina.

"Did I hear her say stay hydrated?" She asked, smartly. I just flicked her off.

"This is her husband," I heard Luka's voice as I slowly started to wake up. I just ignored him and snuggled closer to Caterina who was sleeping on the couch with me.

"Positive for what?" I heard him ask, making my eyes pop open. I sat up and looked at him. He was standing right in front of me on the other side of the coffee table but his back was turned.

"Okay, grazie," he said before hanging up the phone.

"You are pregnant," he said after a minute of silence. His back was still turned.

"Look at me," I demanded. He turned around and looked at me.

"My wife and the mother of my child," he said walking up to me, "Hell is an ice cube."

I chuckled as he helped me stand up. He chuckled and fixed my bonnet that was lopsided on my head.

"My brothers are going to kill you," I said softly as I lied my head on his chest. He just chuckled and kissed me on the forehead.

"Alright go away," I demanded, pulling away from him.

"What?" He asked, confused.

"I'm napping with Caterina. You better get used to it too cause she's going to be here my whole pregnancy. She's the best big spoon ever," I said as I lied back down on the couch. Luka just sucked his teeth and walked to his office.

4 months later

I smiled as I walked into my mom's house with Luka behind me. It was her birthday and she was having a big cookout in the backyard. She didn't know I was pregnant and I wanted to surprise her.

"Zo?" I heard someone yell. I turned to see Adrian coming down the steps. I quickly put my finger up to my lips, telling him to shush. His eyes got wide as he looked down at my belly that was visible through my white floral sundress.

"What's up bro?" I said, hugging him when he got down stairs.

"What the fuck?" He asked, still hugging me. He touched my belly after pulling away.

"Where's mommy?" I asked with a grin.

"Out back," he answered. I just nodded and walked through the house with Luka behind me.

"I'm telling you mom I must miss Zoey cause I just feel like she close," I heard Sincere say to my mom and Nana as I walked up to them. I instantly got emotional.

"Aw baby that's so sweet you miss your sister," Nana said, rubbing his shoulder.

"I'm right here," I pouted. They looked over at me and my mom's extra ass started screaming, making my emotional state go away instantly.

"Mija," Nana said, embracing me in a hug.

"Where's Papa," I asked.

"Who cares? You're pregnant!" She exclaimed, pulling away and rubbing my belly. I smiled and turned to Sincere.

"It better not be a damn baby in there," He said, embracing me in a hug.

"It definitely is," I chuckled. I looked over Sincere's shoulder to see my mom hugging Luka.

"I knew you was close," Sincere said, pulling away, "My twintuition never wrong."

"It's always wrong," I corrected. He just sucked his teeth and side eyed me. My mom walked over and gave me a hug. When she pulled away she started rubbing my stomach.

"It's a girl," she said with a gasp.

"You got that from rubbing her stomach?" Adrian asked. I didn't even realize he came outside.

"No. Her hair is full. You're clingy aren't you?" She asked.

"No," I said.

"Yes," Luka corrected.

"No I am not," I argued.

"Not to me. To Caterina," He said.

"But I just love her so much I don't see the problem," I said with a shrug.

"Sometimes she makes her spend the night and she kicks me out of the bed and sleeps with Caterina. A normal person would think they're sleeping together," Luka said to my mom. I just rolled my eyes.

"It's definitely a girl," my mom said. She stared at me while smoothing down my back ponytail and started to get teary eyed.

"Get her away from me," I said, throwing my hands up and stepping away from my mom. Luka chuckled and walked in between us and hugged me.

"What the hell?" Adrian asked.

"If she sees someone crying she will cry twice as long," Luka answered.

"And you hate crying," Sincere cackled as he pointed at me. I reached over and punched him in the arm.

"Ow," he whined, "Did you get stronger?"

"Yes," Luka answered.

"You carrying a demon," he said, rubbing his arm. I just smirked at him while rubbing my stomach.

"I'm good. I'm good," my mom said, walking back up to us.

"Go enjoy yourself mom," I told her, "I'll be here all week." She just kissed me on the cheek before walking off, probably to tell everybody at the party that I was having a baby.
