"Are you nervous?" My mom asked as she fixed the pins that were holding my curls in place.
"No," I said as I carefully put black liner around my lips.
"You're not nervous? I was all to pieces on my wedding day," Nana said from the couch across the room.
"Me too," Alice, Luka's stepmom, co-signed.
"We're already married," I said, applying some red lipstick then rubbing my lips together.
"But this time it's real," my mom pointed out.
"This time it's better," I corrected, "We're actually in love."
"My baby's in love," my mom gushed. I looked at her in the mirror before rolling my eyes.
"You're so dramatic," I said with a chuckle.
A knock came from the door before I heard Sincere's voice, "Can we come in?"
"Yeah," I called. He walked in immediately after and I put my hand over my mouth. His red suit looked amazing on him and it matched my dress perfectly.
"Best man of honor alive at your service," he said strutting in and spinning around.
"Zyaire you look so handsome," I said standing up and walking up to him.
"Imma let you slide on that 'cause is your wedding day," he said, referring to me calling him by his real name.
"I could've rocked that suit," Adrian grumbled from behind Sincere. He was still salty about me not picking him to be my man of honor.
"How many times do I have to tell you, you're walking me down the isle you can't do both," I stressed to him. He just waved me off.
"Fifteen minutes," Fefe said, barging into the room with Alessia.
"Where the hell have you been?" Nana asked.
"With dad," she said, pulling a bowl of fruit from behind her, "I found Alessia and I stole some fruit."
"My girl," I said, giving her a high five and taking a pineapple cube.
"Hi beautiful," I said, crouching down to Alessia's level.
"Hi," she said shyly.
"Don't be shy," I said poking her stomach, "You ready to steal the show?" She just nodded, making me smile.
"Okay we have to get you in this dress and those pins out," Alice said, standing from the couch.
"Here you are," Caterina said, holding up the dress bag.

"We'll be right outside the door," Adrian announced. I slowly unzipped the bag and admired the dress before taking it out of the bag. I took my robe off and my mom helped me step into the dress.
I stared at myself in the mirror as she zipped it up.
"You look beautiful baby," Nana gushed. I just smiled as my mom started to take the pins out of my hair.
"I can't believe I let you talk me into wearing a lacefront," I said with a chuckle.
"You look amazing," she said as she ran her fingers through the curls.
"We got your things!" Caterina exclaimed suddenly.
"What things?" I asked.
"Something old, something new, something borrowed, and something red," she said cheerfully, making me chuckle.
"Something new and red," She said, opening a box that held beautiful Ruby earrings.
"Something borrowed," Nana said, standing up and placing a gold diamond tiara on my head.
"A tiara?" I asked.
"I wore it to my wedding to hold my veil in place," she said with a shrug.
"Something old," Alice said, sliding a diamond ring onto my finger.
"This is beautiful," I mumbled, admiring the ring.
"This ring is supposed to be worn by the mafia wife. That's you," Alice explained with a smile.
"The things are so beautiful. Thanks everybody," I said to them. They all just smiled.
"You ready Zo?" Sincere asked, poking his head in the door.
"Alright my little thirteen year old thief," I said to Fefe, "Go warm up that crowd for me."
"I got you," she said with a smile before grabbing her and Alessia's flower baskets.
I bent down to Alessia's height, "You got this little gangster," I assured.
"You look so pretty," she said before giving me a tight hug. She pulled away and took Fefe's free hand before walking out of the room. I watched Sincere walk down the hallway with both of them. I assumed to go get Mario since he was Luka's best man.
"We're going to go take our seats," My mom said before giving me a kiss on the cheek and walking out, leaving just me and Adrian.
"You look beautiful Zoey," he said to me.
"Thank you," I said with a sad smile.
"Why you looking like that?" He asked, scrunching his eyebrows.

"This is officially it. I'm letting go of the old me. I'm moving on and letting go. I'm going to miss y'all," I said sadly.
"We not going nowhere. You understand me?" He asked, hugging me tightly.
"You know what I mean," I said, holding back tears.
"Physically? Yeah. But we just a phone call away. If you want us here, we'll be here. If you want to talk, we'll pick up the phone. We love you," He assured, not letting me go. I just nodded.
"And you always gone be killa Z don't ever worry about that," he joked after a few minutes of silence.
"You know it," I said with a sniffle.
"Yeah only killa Z would get married on the one year anniversary of her father's death," he said with a chuckle, making me chuckle. He pulled away and smiled at me.
"I'm so proud of you Zophisa," he said seriously, looking me in the eyes.
"Thanks bro," I said with a smile.
"Let's get you down that isle," he said with a grin. I walked over to my shoes and slid them on before grabbing my red veil and placing it on under my tiara.
I took a deep breath as I heard the organ music start before the doors opened. I looked down at Adrian and took a deep breath. We slowly walked in and everyone was looking at us, making me a little nervous.
"Don't look at them, look at Luka," Adrian said quietly, making me look at Luka who was standing at the end of the isle with his black and red Tuxedo on. Before I knew it we were at the end of the isle and Adrian was kissing me on the forehead and shaking Luka's hand. Luka reached out and pulled my veil back before smiling wide at me.
"You may be seated," the priest said to the church, "Who gives this woman away?" My mom stood up and smiled. The priest nodded and my mom sat down.
"The couple has prepared their own vows," the priest announced.
"Zophisa," Luka started, "I had no clue what to make of you when you barged into your mother's house demanding explanations and barking orders. But I couldn't deny my attraction to you then or now. I am proud and grateful to call you the love of my life and my wife. Nothing about our relationship was conventional but look at us now. We have been married for over a year and our love just grows stronger every day. I promise to never let a day go by where you do not feel loved. You have sacrificed so much for me and I want to return that with all the love I can possibly give. I love you with every fiber of me being and I will not allow you to think otherwise ever in this lifetime."
"Luka," I started, "I never imagined feeling a love like this. Nobody has ever made me feel as amazing as you make me feel. Every day I wake up to your face I remember how amazing my life turned out. I never imagined I would want any of this. But after a few months with you this turned out to be better than anything I could ever dream of. No amount of power or money will ever be greater than the love I have for you. I'm grateful for you and the love we have for each other every hour of every day. You have changed me for the better and I promise to love you every day more and more for that."
"The rings," the priest called. Luka turned and got his ring from Mario and I got mine from Sincere.
"Repeat after me," the priest said to me, "I give you this ring as a sign of our love for and commitment to each other. I promise to support you, care for you, and stand alongside you for all of our days."
I repeated to Luka then him to me as we slid the ring onto each other's fingers.
"By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you man and wife, you may now kiss your bride," the priest said with a smile. Luka grinned before leaning in and embracing me into a long, passionate kiss. Everyone around us cheered and we pulled away grinning like two idiots.

8 218Fortress Seven
Two thousand years ago, a nameless hero sacrificed himself to save the world. With his sacrifice came a world filled with Orbs – powerful naturally occurring sources of magic. His seven companions, the seven fortresses, returned to this changed world, splitting it into seven kingdoms and changing it forever. Exactly two millennia after the incident, the world remains heavily unchanged – and a mysterious boy is found in the deepest depths of the Wildlands. Quickly learning the rules of the world and more about himself – will the real truth be revealed, or will the peace of the land continue for another two thousand years in stagnation? Inspired by Japanese light novels such as Overlord, Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu, and Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari, Fortress Seven is both a mixture of a Fantasy Adventure and Underdog novel that not only brings about the development of its characters but the development of an entire nation.
8 204A Hunt Upon Wings of Shadows
Lianne has spent the last few years of her life as a nomadic monster-hunter, aimlessly taking jobs and disappearing without a trace. Her innately high ether reserves are the only thing that’s keeping her alive. After a painful yet successful contract, she receives an offer to hunt a peculiar beast from a mysterious man who- much to her dismay- pairs her with a man by the name of Sirius, a skilled swordsman with too much empathy to give out. At the same time, inside the impossibly tall walls of the divine city, a group of soldiers including a naive yet powerful girl by the name of Felicia, an exemplar soldier named Raynauld, and a scarred and aloof woman named Maria prepare to head out on a mission to deliver justice to a deserter who is reported to be in a large town far outside the lush interior of the city. However, the two groups will find that their paths will intertwine, and painful memories will push them against each other at every turn, with new monsters emerging from the shadows to pick each of them apart piece by piece. ************************** Alright, so this is the first book I've posted here, and I've been sitting on this idea for a long while. I'm open to any pieces of criticism, and I would be glad to receive tips and advice. Enjoy! Normally, new chapters come out Saturday nights, sometimes double uploads if there's a short chapter or if I feel like it. That's subject to change if I run out of the current backlog. Second note, this is the first draft, and some things (like a few characters) are going to be cut. It's still going to be the same storyline, but keep that in mind.
