"Damn she got you bad," Priest laughed as Dave wiped the blood that dripped from his lip,
Dave state faced him, "Where's everybody gone?" He gestured to the empty dining room.
"Your mama said she couldn't take the drama so she went to bed. My mama left and then your sister and your baby mama in there with the rest of this messed up family," Priest laughed pointing towards the living area, "You fucked up bro,"
"Priest shut the fuck up!" Dave shouted in annoyance. He walked out of the dining room and out to the living area. Millie sat on the couch with tears pouring down her face as Chanel tended to her cuts on her face.
As soon as Chanel spotted Dave she jumped up, "Look what she's done," She exclaimed gesturing to Millie.
Dave didn't reply, he grabbed Chanel by the arm, "Why the fuck would you bring her here?" He said angrily,
"Why wouldn't she bring me here? My son deserves to be with his family on thanksgiving," Millie spoke, wincing at her bulging eye.
"Millie I haven't taken no DNA test yet so miss me with that shit," He said waving her off,
"I'm not getting a DNA test," Millie spoke loudly, "He's yours, remember that one time where you forgot to pull out," If Dave could kick himself he would. Who would have thought that the one time he wasn't careful would lead to this.
"I gave you money for a plan B," Dave said, remembering that night very clearly. Before he left, he gave her $50 to go to the store.
"I didn't get it," Millie shrugged, "I don't just be putting anything in my body,"
"Bi-" Dave started, "I ought to slap the fuck outta you right now,"
"Do it and watch how fast I call the police, I've already got the marks from your little girlfriend," Millie taunted,
"I don't know why he's acting like this Mils," Chanel said to Millie,
"Chanel shut the hell up for once. You are 18 years old why the hell are you running around with Millie?" Dave questioned. Millie was pushing 30 so there was no need for her to be hanging out with Chanel.
"I can hang with who I like," Chanel said with attitude, "You're just mad because I'm not chilling with your bitch," Chanel spat,
"Don't call her out her name, she hasn't done shit to you," Dave said loudly, "Anyway I'm out, tell mama I'm sorry," Dave said before walking out of the room,
Millie stopped him, "My next scan is next week, will you be there?" She asked him nicely,
"Yeah whatever just send me the details," Dave nodded dismissively.
"Oh and tell your bitch that I will see her in court," Millie winked causing Dave to run his hand over his face. He didn't even reply, he just turned to leave the room.
He left the room and headed torwards the door. As he left the house he saw Naala strapping Sinai into her seat. Bully had arrived to pick them up as Naala was ready to get out of there as soon as possible.
Dave walked over to the car just as Naala turned around. She didn't even pay him any mind, she got into the passenger seat and told Bully to drive off. Dave sighed, he had really fucked up now.
Instead of wasting time, Dave hopped in his car and sped off into the direction of the house.

Back at home, Bully had dropped them off just as Dave pulled into the driveway.
"I can swear I told this nigga to find somewhere else to stay tonight," Naala mumbled to herself as she unlocked the door.
Sinai walked next to her mom, confused as to why they had left thanksgiving dinner so abruptly.
"Mommy where is daddy?" Sinai asked Naala, who sighed heavily,
"He's right behind us baby, why don't you go and set up your tea party?" Naala said softly, Sinai nodded and went to her bedroom.
Naala went into the refrigerator, a bottle of Rosé sat there staring at her. She huffed out loud, "One glass wouldn't hurt right?" She said to herself. After Naala's addiction to pills, alcohol was the next retreat. Due to her being pregnant all of that was out of the window. Instead of the wine, she reached for a bottle of water.
Dave walked into the house and shouted Naala's name. She scrunched up her face at the base in his voice, for a second she thought she was bugging. He can't be shouting my name like I'm the one that fucked that dog face bitch, she thought.
"Why are you shouting?" Naala questioned leaning on the counter,
"We need to talk," Dave stated simply, "I told you ain't no breaks,"
"We aren't on a break," Naala said softly before taking a sip out of her water.
Dave sighed in relief but was quickly shut down,
"We're not together at all," Naala said simply, "I'm not about to go mad over you Amir, my children matter to me more. If you can't respect me then I can't be with you," Naala shrugged her shoulders,
"We aren't breaking up," Dave said moving closer to her, "I will talk to Millie —"
Naala's loud laugh cut him off, "Wait you think this is about Millie?" Naala said looking at him, "I don't care about Millie, I care about me and I can't get better whilst I'm with you,"
"What's that supposed to mean?" Dave questioned,
"It means you're not good for me Amir. It hurts me to say that but it's the truth," Naala said softly, "I need to focus on me and my children, I'm not going to stop you from seeing 'Nai and I will keep you updated with this baby," She said holding her stomach, "But I'm done,"
"That's bullshit!" Dave shouted, "You mad because I have another baby on the way?"
"You're already claiming this baby as yours," Naala whispered, "I feel like I don't even know who you are right now Amir," Naala spoke seriously,
"She said it's mine so I believe her," Dave spoke, "You'll have to get over it," He mumbled.
"What aren't you understanding? I'm not with you anymore so I don't care," Naala said, "I just hope you will be able to explain to your daughter why you're not living here anymore," Naala shrugged.
"I'm staying here," Dave grunted,
"Then we'll go, I can find an apartment right now," Naala said as she pushed herself off the counter to get her laptop.
"Naala can you just stop and talk to me?" Dave said stepping in front of her so she couldn't leave the kitchen, "I know you're just putting on a front,"
Naala sighed, "What do you want me to do? Cry? That's all I ever do but I genuinely can't cry any more tears Amir," she said honestly,

"You really want me to leave?" Dave said lowly,
"Yes I don't want you here," Naala replied moving around him, "I won't make you go now because you still have to explain to Sinai why you're leaving,"
"She's gonna take you to court," Dave spoke up as Naala was about to leave the kitchen,
"Lucky I'm a badass lawyer," She smiled sweetly before turning on her heels.
Naala walked off towards her room, feeling like a huge weight lifted off her shoulders, she didn't know that her relationship with Dave was such a burden. All she wanted to do now was shower and sleep till tomorrow, this had been the longest day ever.
Naala stepped into the bathroom and immediately stripped out of her clothes, throwing them into the laundry hamper. Naala looked at herself in the mirror and sighed, why am I never good enough, she asked herself as she analysed her body in the mirror. Naala grabbed a hair tie and put her hair up to avoid it getting wet.
She turned the shower on to her preferred temperature and got in.
Standing under the water, tears started to gather in Naala's eyes. At first she was convinced that she wouldn't get upset about this and that she had no more tears left to cry but there tears were different. They weren't sad tears, they were tears of anger. She was so angry, angry that she had let Millie get her to that point, angry that Dave was treating her this way, she was just straight up angry.
Her soft cries slowly turned into sobs, she finally thought she had got the happiness she deserved but just like that, it's been taken from her.
As she calmed down, she heard the bathroom door open and close. She assumed Dave had walked in but left when he realised she was showering. That wasn't the case, moments later Dave stepped into the shower behind her.
"What are you doing? Get out," Naala said jumping when she saw him, dropping her sponge in the process.
"Baby I'm sorry," Dave mumbled holding onto her waist, "I'm sorry," he repeated kissing her neck,
Naala moaned, "S-stop it," She said moving back,
"You don't want me to go," Dave said as he continued to kiss her neck, moving down towards her breast. He passed her stomach and lifted her leg up so it was resting on his shoulder.
He ran his tongue over her slit causing her to moan out.
"A-amir," She whispered as he began feasting on her. His tongue flicking through her at a ferocious pace. Naala knew what he was doing, trying to make her think she needed him. This is exactly what Darnell used to do, they would fight and then he would think sex would make everything better. He would use that as a way to control the narrative, make her think she was crazy for being angry.
"Amir stop." Naala said firmly, Dave ignored her and continued eating her out, "I-i'm serious Amir let me up," Naala said again,
"You want me to stop," Dave asked looking up at her,
"Yes, let me down," Naala muttered. Dave sighed and got up slowly making sure to hold onto her. He took that as he sign to leave her alone in the shower,
"I'll let you finish up," Dave said clearing his throat. Naala huffed and continued her shower, he wasn't about to throw her off. She reached down to grab her sponge that had fallen and continued to scrub her body.
When she was done, Naala stepped out of the shower and grabbed her towel. She heard voices in the room and decided to wait before leaving the bathroom.
"I messed up bad man," Dave said, she assumed he was on the phone.
"What you did now?" The person replied, it was a male. Naala could tell by how deep the voice was.
"I hurt her pops, she can't even look at me," Dave spoke again. Naala's eyes widened as she realised he was on the phone with his dad. Dave barely spoke about his father due to him being incarcerated, they barely spoke to Naala's knowledge.
"You've been hitting on her? Boy I taught you better than that!" His dad spoke loudly,
Dave sucked his teeth, "You know I'm not like that, I was messing with a female before we got back together and now I might have another baby on the way," Dave admitted, "I messed up so bad Pops,"
"You can't go back in time now, it was before y'all were together right?," Dave Senior asked,
"I didn't sleep with her whilst we were together, I wouldn't do that," Dave said holding his head in his hand.
"We'll all you can do is try and fix what y'all have," His dad spoke truthfully,
"I want to but I don't think she will," Dave replied sadly,
Naala knew she had heard enough now, she opened the door and walked into the room. Dave looked at her and got up, leaving the room to give her space.
Instead of paying him any mind, Naala decided to get changed and just go to bed. She knew that Dave would be okay with Sinai for the rest of the night. As soon as she slipped into bed, sleep took over her entire body.
Dave slipped his phone into his pocket and pushed Sinai's door open. She was sat on her bed playing with a few toys,
"Nai can I talk to you quickly?" Dave asked as he took a seat on her bed,
"Right now?" She whined wanting to continue playing,
"Yea right now," Dave replied, "Quit allat whining, you're not a baby," He scolded,
"Okay," Sinai muttered in reponse. "Is this about what I told Grandma?" Sinai asked tilting her head,
"What did you tell Grandma?" Dave replied, moving closer to her.
"I don't want to get in trouble," Sinai muttered putting her head down,
"You won't, what's the matter?" Dave said softly,
"I told her about you and mommy fighting," She replied fiddling with her fingers, "I always hear you guys even when I have my headphones in,"
Dave mentally face palmed himself. Sinai is far from stupid. She would be able to tell when her parents weren't getting along.
"Mommy and I are going through something right now," Dave said truthfully, "But we are working on it,"
"Does that mean you don't love each other anymore?" Sinai questioned fearfully,
"Of course not I love your mom 'Nai 'Nai, I love you guys a lot," He admitted, "We're gonna fix this,"
"You promise?" Sinai asked hopefully,
"I promise," Dave replied firmly. He was gonna fix their relationship even if that was the last thing he did.
Later that evening, Naala was still in bed. She couldn't find the strength to get up. Dave knocked on the door lightly causing her to stir in the bed. As the knocking increased, she was awoken fully.
"Yes," She called out, her voice coarse. Dave stepped into the room with a tray of food.
"I know you didn't eat much earlier," He said walking over to her with the food, the plate consisted of baked chicken with mashed potatoes and long stem broccoli. That was one of the only things Dave could make.
Naala looked at the clock on her night stand and saw that it was 9:30pm.
"Why are you still here?" Naala asked sitting up and taking the tray, "Isn't Sinai asleep?"
Dave nodded, "Yeah she is," He stood by the bed awkwardly,
"Has she eaten?" Naala quizzed, Dave sucked his teeth,
"I know how to look after my daughter Naala," He spoke with attitude, "That's not what I came in here for anyway, I actually wanted to talk to you,"
Naala sighed, "First of all, talk to me like you have sense and secondly I don't want to talk about this anymore Amir,"
"I know but I think I should stay here, in this house" He spoke, "Sinai doesn't need us leaving in separate homes, she needs stability." He sat down at the edge of the bed, he didn't want to get to close because there was a knife on the tray and he wasn't sure what Naala would do with it if she got the chance to use it.
"We've done it before," Naala said bluntly, "She didn't even know you existed this time last year," She said before taking a bit of mashed potatoes into her mouth.
"Why've you got to be petty," Dave replied with a mug.
"How am I being petty? That's the truth," Naala stated eating more of her food. "I'm sure she can manage without you,"
"That's not fair, when will I get to see her?" Dave asked angrily,
"On the weekends," Naala replied, "You can pick her up on Friday's and bring her back here on Sunday evening,"
"So you get her for 5 days and I have her for 2?" Dave said, "That's dumb as hell Naala,"
Naala shrugged, "It's either that or I drop her off at your mom's on Friday and you drop her back there on Sunday evening,"
"I'm not doing that shit!" Dave shouted, "I'm not leaving, I will stay in the guest room, you won't even see me" He said almost begging,
"I don't feel comfortable living with you." Naala sighed, she knew she was being unreasonable,
"I will stay out of your way," Dave pleaded,
"This is for my daughter, not you" Naala spoke quietly, "What you pulled in the bathroom can't happen again," Naala warned, "And you can't come in here - at all." She said motioning to the space around them,
"It won't happen again," Dave said, "Unless you want it to," He tried to flirt causing Naala to straight face him.
Dave winced at the look on her face, too soon, he thought.
"Get out," Naala replied pointing at the door, "Now please," She said before taking a sip of the juice he bought in for her.
"You didn't even say thank you for the food," Dave pointed out as he stood up,
"Thanks." Naala said flashing a fake smile before digging back into her meal.
Dave left the room feeling accomplished, he assumed that he was one step closer to winning her back.
Naala on the other hand had him right where she wanted him. She would have him begging on his knees before he could touch her again.
Naala's phone buzzed on the nightstand, people were blowing her up, meaning one thing - Millie was on social media talking shit once again.
She opened her messages,
🐍🧚🏾♀️
🧍🏾♀️: why is this girl on Twitter saying you beat her ass 💀💀
🧸: i know you fucking lying ☠️
:she's been asking for it
:y'all I'm single
🧸: ...
🧸: 🧢
🧍🏾♀️: that best be a joke
:I'm deadass
🧚🏾♀️🐍
Naala picked up the phone almost instantly.
"Speak," Mia said as soon as the call connected. Naala huffed,
"I'm single as fuck," Naala spoke honestly,
"When did this happen?" Taina asked raising an eyebrow, "If this is one of your pranks Naala it's not funny," She spoke seriously,
"I'm deadass y'all, I called it quits." Naala said nonchalantly,
"Mia do you hear this bitch because I think I'm bugging" Taina said chuckling,
"I hear her, I don't know what's going on," Mia coincided,
"I've decided I wanna focus on me," Naala said truthfully, "All this drama is stressing me out, I'm not about to lose another baby,"
"I do agree that you've been stressed out but come on La, y'all are the best couple I know, aside from me and my Acey Pooh " Mia replied looking at Naala who seemed to be in deep thought,
"Ew don't call him that," Taina referred to Mia's nickname for Ace. "How does Dave feel about this?" Taina asked Naala,
"He obviously doesn't want us to not be together but he's respecting my wishes, I guess," Naala mumbled the last part,
"Humpf, I smell cap," Mia replied, "He is not gonna leave you alone Naala,"
"Well he's gonna have to," Naala said back smartly, "I am single as fuck," She pouted realising that she was actually single.
"Join the club bitch," Taina said sticking her tongue out, "Damn but you still pregnant, hit me up next year," Taina said before hanging up.
"She didn't just hang up," Mia laughed, "I'm adding her back I haven't spoke to y'all in a minute" Mia said adding Taina back into the car.
"Girl I'm busy," Taina said straight facing them,
"Whatever," Naala replied, "Y'all keep my single ass company," She said with her lips stuck out,
"Uhn uhn, you better pull that lip back in, before I call Dave in there to bite it," Mia chuckled as Naala fixed her face quickly.
"Not funny," Naala replied with the straightest face possible,
"You really beat that girls ass?" Mia asked suddenly remembering all of Millie's tweets.
"I low-key feel bad," Naala spoke, "She is not going to be able to step out of her house for a good two weeks,"
"Tuh, two weeks isn't long enough," Taina replied,
The girls stayed on the phone talking about absolutely nothing for next few hours. It definitely put Naala in better spirits.
