"Why is my baby always so mad," Dave said laughing as he liked Naala's Instagram photo.

Naala shrugged as she pulled out the food from the refrigerator, "I told her she couldn't have any candy,"

"Daddy she's a big meanie," Sinai said walking into the kitchen and sitting close to her dad. Dave pulled her onto his lap and kissed her check,

"The biggest meanie," Dave coincided, Naala scoffed as Dave started laughing,

"Was I meanie when both of you were suffocating me last night?" Naala said tilting her head. Sinai snuck into her parent's room last night and when Naala woke up both of them when laying on her chest,

"Yeah," Sinai said rolling her neck,

"This girl," Naala chuckled to herself, "Go put your shoes on little girl,"

"I don't wanna go," Sinai whined, "I hate thanksgiving," She pouted.

"Don't say you hate it, Nai" Dave spoke up, "We not gon' be there long anyway,"

Sinai crossed her arms across her chest, "Why do we even have thanksgiving, we don't even get presents,"

"Sinai we spoke about this yesterday, you're going," Naala said sternly, "Now go back there and put on your shoes,"

"But mommy -" Sinai dragged out, Naala gave her a look and she just got of her dad's lap and went to get her shoes.

"That little girl I swear," Naala muttered, taking a sip of her water.

"If she don't wanna go then she shouldn't have to," Dave shrugged causing Naala to roll her eyes.

"Don't do that," Naala sighed, "Stop undermining my parenting, she can't just whine and get what she wants,"

Dave drew his head back, "I'm undermining your parenting? You literally give her everything she wants Naala," Dave was getting fed up. Since Naala got pregnant they had been arguing for no apparent reason. He wasn't sure if it was the hormones, but they were always at each others neck.

"How?" Naala said crossing her arms, "Do you know what? I'm just gonna leave it," Naala said walking to their room to get her purse,

"Yeah, walk away like you always do Naala," Dave said also getting up, "You start shit and run away when you're wrong," Dave laughed shaking his head, "Man Naala get the fuck out of here,"

Naala stopped in her steps, "Did I curse at you Amir?" She asked as she spun around, "You do way too much,"

"Whatever, Naala" Dave said waving her off, "Just hurry up so we can go,"

"So because I'm not trying to argue with you, you're mad?" Naala questioned walking back over to him,

"Naala leave me alone for real," Dave mumbled stepping back as she got in his face,

"Stop calling me that," She snapped, "All I said is that you were undermining my parenting, something you do everyday. Now you're catching an attitude with me,"

"How the hell do I be undermining your parenting?" Dave questioned, raising his voice, "I side witchu every time."

"No you don't, you could have said something when she was whining, but you didn't" Naala replied, "You make me look like the bad guy all the time."

"Whatever Naala, you want us to go or not?" Dave said ignoring her last comment. Naala scoffed and walked off.

Dave shook his head and went into Sinai's room. She was sat on her bed, pouting.

"Why was you shouting daddy?" She questioned as he stepped into the room,

"Me and your mama were playing around," Dave grunted, "You ready?" Sinai nodded and got up to follow her dad out of the room.

Naala was waiting by the door with her purse and the food in a bag, Dave decided to ignore her because he couldn't be bothered to fight with her anymore. He took the bag of food from her hand and opened the door for them to leave. Naala strapped Sinai in and got into the car, slamming her door. Dave chuckled darkly and got in,

"Don't be slamming doors," He said simply before starting the car. Naala ignored him and looked out of the window,

"Daddy can I watch on my iPad?" Sinai questioned, already pulling the iPad out of its sleeve. Dave turned to the back seat,

"Yeah, but make sure it's not too close to your face," He stated simply. After her seizure, the doctors suggested that they limited her screen time and they were always monitoring her usage.

"Mmm," Naala hummed looking out the window. Once Sinai had her headphones in, Naala turned towards him,

"See, you give in too easy. The doctor told us she shouldn't be using small screens," Naala said to him,

"Naala shut up talking to me," Dave said bluntly focusing on the road ahead,

"Bet," Naala muttered, "Sinai hand me that," she said turning around in her seat and reaching for the iPad. Sinai looked up in confusion and took out her headphones,

"But daddy said I can have it," Sinai replied, tears gathering in her eyes,

"I don't care, and you're not about to cry," Naala said firmly snatching the iPad.

"Are you crazy?" Dave said looking at Naala, "Nai it's okay," Dave said as Sinai cried,

"See! Now I'm the bad guy," Naala shouted throwing her hands in the air,

"You did that to yourself," Dave said shrugging, he snatched the iPad back and handed back to Sinai. "I don't know the fuck is wrong with you today," Dave said when Sinai had finally calmed down and was using her iPad.

"Shut up," Naala mumbled, "You think you're so perfect right? I'm just an empty vessel to carry your babies and you know exactly what to do, right?"

Dave sighed loudly, "What are you even talking about? Naala are you hungry because you really not you when you're hungry,"

"I'm not hungry!" She snapped, "You think you're so damn perfect, you forget I raised that girl on my own,"

"How the fuck can I forget?" Dave said shouting loudly, "You remind me every chance you get Naala," He said looking over at her,

"Stop yelling at me," Naala said as she swallowed a lump in her throat,

"Then you do that shit!" Dave said shouting again, "You brought this up and now that you've got the reaction you fucking wanted, now you're crying,"

Naala sniffed as tears fell, "I'm crying because you're yelling at me," She said quietly,

"You're crying because you know I'm right, I don't know how many times you want me to apologise for not being there to raise Sinai, I really don't," Dave said blankly, "I can't keep doing this with you Naala - it's too much,"

"What do you mean? So now I can't talk about something that's bothering me?" Naala questioned wiping her eyes,

"So why the fuck are we doing this then?" He gestured between them, "If it bothers you that I wasn't there then why are we still doing this?"

"Because I love you!" Naala cried, "I love you so much," She whispered,

"Maybe love isn't enough mama, I love you too but if you keep bringing this shit up we're not gonna get anywhere," Dave said truthfully,

"It still hurts Amir, can't you see that?" Naala admitted, "I thought I could ignore it but its creeping back up, I don't want us to bring another child into the world when our relationship is like this,"

"Me neither." Dave replied, "So what do you want to do?" Dave asked her looking over at her,

Naala shrugged and let a few more tears slip from her eyes, "I need to work on me before anything," She said truthfully,

"I agree," Dave nodded. Naala snapped her neck towards him,

"What do you mean 'I agree'? - you think I need to work on myself?" Naala asked with attitude,

"Man I'm just agreeing with you. I think you got too much shit to work through," Dave started, He said truthfully,

Naala nodded and sighed, "Maybe we need a break," She pouted,

Dave placed his hand on her thigh, "Ain't no breaks," Dave said making a face, "You stuck with me,"

"Be serious," Naala whined, "We can't keep arguing like this, it's not healthy"

"I ain't arguing witchu, you arguing with me," Dave pointed out, "You always wanna get loud, sometimes just communicate with me,"

"I am communicating," Naala replied rudely,

"You're not, but we don't need to get into this, it's thanksgiving," Dave spoke as he pulled up at Sonia's home. Naala looked at the driveway and her belly began to turn as she saw all the cars lined up in the driveway.

"There's a lot of people," Naala frowned, observing the cars.

"I told you, my mama be inviting everyone she knows," Dave mumbled pulling up behind a car. "Before we go in there, can we just drop this for today?" Dave spoke looking at her.

Naala sighed and pulled down the visor to look at herself in the mirror. "I'm over it now, I'm gonna call Dr Black in the morning, we need that therapy session,"

"Bet, just set it up," Dave said leaning over so they were face to face. He lifted her chin up and wiped her face,

"I hate shouting at you," He mumbled squeezing her face,

"Then stop doing it," Naala said lightly, "You know how I feel when people shout at me,"

"Ite, that was my fault," Dave said playing with her bottom lip, "I just want us to be good Love, I can't be with anyone but you," Dave was serious about marrying her, that was his wife.

"I know, I'm sorry," Naala mumbled, "I'm trying to get better for us," She spoke truthfully,

"And my little nigga," Dave joked rubbing her stomach. Naala rolled her eyes,

"You think your mom will be happy?" Naala said referring to her pregnancy. She was nervous to announce it, especially now that the house was full.

"Who cares if she's not," Dave shrugged. He couldn't care less what anyone had to say about their family.

"I care," Naala pouted hitting his arm, "Let's get out now before 'Nai falls asleep,"

Dave pulled her arm back and kissed her passionately, "We gon' get through this," He said against her lips,

"I hope so," Naala whispered. She wanted them to work more than anything but if she didn't get over this hurt she's gonna end up pushing him away.

Dave got out of the car and grabbed the bag of food, Naala got out and unbuckled Sinai,

"Nai baby," Naala said leaning down, "I didn't mean to get angry at you,"

"It's okay mommy, we're still best friends," Sinai smiled sweetly, "But you're not coming to tea with me and daddy," Sinai added,

Naala frowned, "Tea parties are our thing," Naala replied,

"Not anymore," Sinai said smartly before walking over to her dad and grabbing his hand.

"Come on you big baby," Dave said holding his other hand out for Naala,

"She hates me now," Naala said pouting.

Dave sucked his teeth, "She does not hate you," he muttered as he pushed open his mother's front door. They were immediately met with loud chatter and laughter, as they walked further into the house Naala pulled her dress down, she was wearing a pink sweater dress with some heeled boots. The dress hugged her belly tightly which is why she kept pulling it down.

"Is that my grand baby?" Sonia said as she saw them walking in. Sinai let go of her dad's hand and went running over to her grandma hugging her tightly.

"Naala baby why you hiding?" Sonia asked walking around Dave,

She gasped loudly at the sight of her stomach,

"That's why you've not been coming around," Sonia said in shock, "I knew my dreams were right!" She squealed pulling Naala into a hug. Naala shyly hugged her back, the entire kitchen was staring at them.

"Don't squeeze her too hard ma," Dave said pulling them apart, Sonia mugged him,

"She's carrying my second grandbaby, I will hug her all I want" Sonia sassed,

"Grand baby?" Dave's uncle Gio said, "Well I be damned,"

Dave looked at him weirdly, "Why are you even here?" Naala squeezed his hand to calm him down,

"I'm here because your mama invited me," Gio replied back mugging him,

"Well don't know why she did," Dave mumbled under his breathe. He saw his Aunt Tonya walk into the kitchen and mentally sighed,

Here we go, he thought.

"She's yours?" Tonya spoke, "That can't be your child, she doesn't even look like you," Dave rolled his eyes at his Aunty. She was truly the worst family member he had. Being his Dad's sister, she was always comparing Dave to his father and he hated it.

"She's mine," Dave said bluntly, "Nai go through there with all the other kids," Dave said because he was about to chew Tonya out. Dave's cousin Priest, walked into the kitchen as Sinai ran out,

"Who's this fine ass lady," Priest said eyeing up Naala, "Aw damn, not this nigga," He said sizing up Dave.

"Nigga," Dave said straight facing him, before reaching to dap him up. Even though Dave hated his Aunt Tonya, he really got on with Priest - that was like his brother.

"Man how did your ugly ass pull her," Priest said to Dave before turning to Naala, "I'm Priest but you can call me Daddy," He winked,

Naala giggled and put her head down, she did not know that his cousin was that good looking. Dave looked down at her and pushed her shoulder,

"Don't get fucked up," Dave said in her ear as he watched her basically fan girl over him.

"Did you do a DNA test?" Tonya spoke up again looking between him and Naala. That struck a nerve for Naala, she would never let a man claim a child that wasn't his, she wasn't like that - at all.

"Excuse me?" Naala spoke up, letting go of Dave's hand. "Why would he need a DNA test?" Naala questioned,

Tonya shrugged, "I don't know you," Tonya said rudely, "You could be pinning a baby on him because of who he is,"

Naala scoffed, "I knew him before he was an artist," Naala replied defensively,

"So?" Tonya replied, "And now you're pregnant again, how convenient,"

"That's enough," Sonia spoke up, she wasn't gonna sit back and listen to her sister in law disrespect Naala.

"No let her continue, I don't have to explain myself to her." Naala spoke moving away from Dave slightly. Throughout the whole conversation, Dave stayed quiet, it made her feel like he was contemplating what his aunt was saying.

"Mama you sound real bitter right now," Priest said looking at his mom.

"How am I bitter when I'm looking out for my nephew?" Tonya replied with her hand on her hip, "He always get caught up, remember Sevyn -" Dave cut her off quickly but Naala still caught it.

"You doing too much now Tonya," Dave spoke attempting to walk away. Naala raised her eyebrows, there was clearly something Dave wasn't telling her.

"Boy —" Tonya began to speak before Sonia cut her off,

"Tonya leave my son alone, you were asking for that," Sonia spoke,

"So I guess you're her mama," A man said directly to Naala as he walked in holding a crying Sinai. Naala stepped forward,

"What's wrong baby?" She asked Sinai, taking her from the man's arms.

"I fell," Sinai weeped, "It really hurts," Naala sighed and rubbed her back,

"Come here Nai, you shouldn't be carrying her Love," Dave said attempting to take Sinai but Naala stepped back.

"She's fine, excuse me" She said walking towards the bathroom still carrying Sinai.

Dave took that as a sign and just stayed put.

"Amir come and help me set this table," Sonia called out to him,

Dave huffed, "All these people here and they can't help you?" He muttered under his breathe,

"What did you say?" Sonia asked with her hand on her hip,

"Nothing," Dave mumbled walking back over to help her with the table.

Shortly after, all the adults sat around the table, food being shared around. The children were in the other room because Sonia didn't want them in the main dining room - she was using her fine China today and she would not let the kids play in that.

"You want some greens?" Dave asked Naala who was sat beside him. Naala shook her head and continued to pick her own foods,

"You being mad childish right now," Dave said lowly.

"I'm being childish?" Naala replied, "Who's Sevyn Amir?" Naala asked him in a hushed tone,

Dave tucked his lips and didn't reply, "That's what I thought," Naala chuckled as she began to eat her food, "But I'm childish right?"

"This is what I mean about communication," Dave whispered into her ear,

"I don't want to talk to you so leave me alone," Naala replied before clearing her throat and moving her chair further away from him and closer to the seat next to her which happened to be Priest's seat.

"You good?" Priest asked as he noticed Naala's annoyed look,

"I'm great, I just can't reach the gravy," Naala pouted. Priest reached over and grabbed the gravy boat,

"Thank you," Naala smiled politely,

"It ain't nothing pretty lady," Priest said with a flirtatious smile,

"Oh so now you want my son?" Tonya spoke loudly as she watched Priest and Naala's exchange. Naala rolled her eyes at the sound of Tonya's voice.

"I feel like you have a problem with me," Naala replied looking up from her plate. "Which is weird to me because I don't know you,"

"I do have a problem with you, my niece told me all about you, I know you're a whore, " Tonya said placing her fork down,

Naala threw her head back and laughed, "A whore?"

"What else did your niece have to say?" Naala asked,

"She told me how you've been using my nephew for his money,"

"Really?" Naala asked putting hand under her chin, "That's funny,"

"Yeah — well here's my niece now," Tonya said as Chanel strolled into the dining room.

"Hey mama, I hope you don't mind I bought a guest, I know Bubby won't mind," Chanel spoke with a smug smirk. They all looked at the door as Millie trailed in behind her, rubbing her swollen stomach.

"You've got to be kidding me," Naala chuckled, putting her fork down.

"Man what the fuck Chanel," Dave exclaimed as he mugged Millie.

Millie walked over purposely brushing passed Naala and leaned down to kiss Dave's cheek,

"Hey babe," Millie said rubbing Dave's shoulder, "I hope you don't mind, me and Junior wanted to spend the day with you,"
