《What is Love? [Dave East FanFic]》19.

Today was their second day in paradise, and the day was jam packed. Naala and Dave had arranged for a local travel host to show them around the island. First they were going to the beach and the historic places, ending the day with a boat ride across the island.
They had told everyone to be ready by 10am and right now they were still waiting for Chanel to wake up - it was 9:57am.
Naala huffed, "Can you go and see if she's up Amir?" She was fed up with Chanel, everyone was looking forward to sightseeing and she was holding them up. Taina and Von were seated on a love seat, quite close to any prying eyes. Mia and Ace were also seated on a seat, Mia was asleep on his shoulder - they didn't get much sleep the night before.
Mama Sonia was on the phone, as per usual, minding her business. Dave kept looking over at her and getting a dirty look back - she was grown.
"I ain't going up there again, if she not down here in 3 minutes, we're leaving," Dave said looking at his watch, clenching his jaw.
"Sinai baby, fix your bag and let me take a picture of you," Naala said to Sinai, trying to distract herself from the fact that Chanel was holding everyone up. Sinai huffed but her dad shot her look, causing her to stand up straight and pose for the picture.
"The lightening isn't good in here Lala, it would be better outside," Taina suggested, gesturing to the glistening sun by the pool.
"You're right, come on baby, Neveah you too!" Naala said leading the girls out to pool,
"I'll come," Azure shot up, she was in better spirits this morning. She opted out of the dinner last night because she didn't feel it appropriate to be surrounded by couples when she is mid-divorce.
Both sisters led the girls out to the pool to snap the pictures.
: Twin 💙
: don't do my niece like that 🤣
Azure decided to also post a picture of Neveah, they were on vacation after all.
: yes niece!
: I miss you guys

After their photoshoot, it was about 10:15am and the travel guide had arrived.
"I'm Chris," He introduced himself to everyone, Naala was taken aback because she assumed the host would be a Mexican local however this was an American man standing infront of them.
"Nice to meet you," Naala spoke, "We're just waiting for one more person," Naala breathed out,
"There she go," Mama Sonia spoke looking at Chanel who walked sluggishly out of her room, "It's about time," Sonia sassed as she looked at Chanel's unbothered expression.
"I'm here now aren't I?" Chanel said rolling her eyes at her mom.
"Roll again, see if I don't knock them straight out," Sonia spoke, sliding her sunglasses on her face.
Everyone stifled a laugh at Chanel's expression - even Chris the travel guide.
Chanel stayed silent and looked towards Von who was giving her a sympathetic look, that made her roll her eyes again because he's been ignoring since he got here and now all of sudden he wants to be nice.
"Okay, so we are off to Scorpion's temple first," Chris said breaking the awkward silence. The group filed out the house, getting in separate trucks that will take them to their destination. Naala, Dave, Sinai, Azure and Neveah were in one truck. Mia, Ace, Sonia were in one and then Chanel, Taina, Von and the travel guide were in the last car.

As you could imagine, the car with Chris was silent. Taina wasn't speaking and Von and Chanel were stealing glances at each other once in a while. Chris was driving, Chanel sat in the passenger seat whilst Von and Taina sat at the back.
"So are y'all enjoying the island?" Chris questioned looking through the rear view mirror,
"I love it, it's amazing," Taina spoke looking out of the window, "You can't hear him babe?" She nudged Von who was clearly distracted.
"Uh- yeah, it's cool or whatever," He mumbled, turning to look at Taina. She gave him confused look,
"What's wrong with you?" She asked lowly, he was acting weird, "Don't be rude," Taina stated before continuing her conversation with the driver.
"What about you pretty girl? You like it here?" Chris asked Chanel. The truth was he had been crushing on Chanel since he laid eyes on her.
Chanel's head popped up and she smiled, "It's okay, could be better," She flirted. She wanted to make Von jealous, just like how she had be feeling since he arrived.
Taina smirked, maybe if Chanel had someone to focus on she will stop being so moody.
"We can't have that, how can I make to better?" Chris said, licking his bottom lip,
"I don't know you tell me," Chanel said, playing with her hair and looking at him innocently.
Von scoffed lowly and grabbed Taina's hand. Two can play that game. He thought. "Gimme a kiss baby," Von muttered looking down at Taina. Chanel was busy talking to Chris so she didn't realise.
"Oh, you're feeling better now?" Taina sassed, turning her head so he caught her cheek.
"Nah, I didn't like the way he was looking at you mama," Von lied, rubbing her arm, Taina hummed and looked out the window.
"Don't do that, just a quick one," Von puckered his lips, Taina laughed and planted a small kiss on his lips.
"You don't have to worry about him looking at me, looks like he has his eyes set on someone else," She gestured towards Chanel and Chris who were engaging in what looked like a very interesting conversation.
Von clenched his jaw at the sight of Chanel giggling and flirting with Chris, Taina frowned,
"Leave them alone, they're both young," Taina giggled and looked back out of the window, oblivious to the real reason why Von was angry.
In the other car, Azure silenced her phone for the 5th time, Derrick had been ringing her continuously since last night and she was finding it very hard to ignore him.
"Avoiding someone?" Dave spoke to Azure as he watched her look at her phone in despair.
"My husband, well can I even call him that?" They spoke in hushed tones as she didn't want Neveah to overhear anything - that was still her dad at the end of the day. "What would you do if you were me, Dave?" Azure questioned him,
"I would answer the phone," He stated blankly, " I would pick up and say I'm on holiday and you're making it hard for me to enjoy myself,"
"Trust me I've tried that," Azure laughed, last night she went off on him but that didn't stop the flurry of calls she was still receiving.
"I told you to block him," Naala said, looking over at them, "You're giving him too much power, block him and move on,"

Azure sat back and pondered that decision. Blocking him wouldn't be enough, Derrick was a man of many devices, he would find a way to contact her. Azure wasn't sure if she was ready to block him yet, a part of her was still holding on to the possibility of a relationship.
"It's not that easy babe," Dave said to Naala, "If you blocked me I would be on the next flight out," Dave grunted, he was not the one.
"Oh whatever Amir," Naala huffed, waving him off. "Zuri, you do what you think is right, but if you pick up that phone you let him in again."
Azure ignored her sister and sat back properly in her seat. Sinai and Neveah were busy watching YouTube videos.
The cars came to a halt at Scorpion's temple. Everyone got out, Dave was carrying Sinai as she was complaining of the heat. Naala walked ahead with Azure and Mama Sonia, Ace and Mia were walking a bit slowly because Mia was feeling a little nauseous. Chanel and Chris were walking ahead of everyone, still engaging in their conversation, Taina and Von followed behind, Taina was in her own world but Von was busy watching what Chanel was doing.
"This temple is an ancient ruin, pioneered by the Hindu Gods that settled in Mexico. Legend says that true love exists and runs through the walls of the temple. I've heard that it's good luck for any couple to share a kiss under the Golden Arches if they want their love to last forever." Chris said pointing to the arches that the group stood under.
"Most people take this as their opportunity to kiss or at least take a picture?" Chris continued, looking at the group who were busy recording the site.
Naala pulled Dave under the arches, he was still holding Sinai. Naala planted a kiss on both of their lips, they were here forever love.
"This is a beautiful picture, 'Nai look at nanny!" Sonia called out, holding up her phone to take a picture of the family. Dave smiled widely holding onto his two girls.
"My two special girls," He spoke into Naala's ear, planting a kiss on her cheek. Sinai giggled,
"Mommy now you have cootiesssss," Sinai laughed, her dad had taught her that when a boy kisses her that she would have cooties.
"Who taught you that?" Naala gasped, pinching Sinai's cheeks,
"Daddy did," Sinai giggled, holding onto her Dad's neck tightly. Naala and Dave shared a look,
"That's right baby, all boys have cooties apart from daddy," Dave said, kissing all over he face.
All the couples took a picture under the Golden Arches, even Taina and Von. Azure took a picture with Neveah and Naala. Chanel was enjoying Chris's company a lot so didn't pay mind to what was going on around her.
After they had finished learning the history of the temple, they were on their way to the next spot. After a 30 minute car journey, they pulled up to Playa de Carmen, which was a huge beach, not the one that overlooked their villa but another one.
The white sand and crystal blue seas were the first things that everyone saw when they arrived. The atmosphere was calming to say the least, they were truly in paradise. Chris took them to their own private cabana, allowing them to use the bathroom if needed. He then led them to an excluded section of the beach that had a bar just behind it.
There was enough space for the girls to play in the sand and also enough drinks to keep the adults occupied.
Taina, Azure, Mia and Naala lay on 4 pool chairs, soaking in the sun that was beating down on them. Mama Sonia lay on the sand, watching out for the girls whilst enjoying her new book. The men all sat by the bar getting to know Von. Chris and Chanel were by the water, still enjoying each others company.
"Looks like miss mamas has found a new hobby," Mia stated looking over at Chanel and Von, flirting.
"Finally," Naala muttered, she hoped this meant Chanel will stop causing problems for everybody.
"They hit it off y'all, he's cute so I don't blame her," Taina said, bringing her sunglasses down to look at him.
"Now I need to find me some vacation dick," Azure groaned, her and Chanel were the only single ones on the trip and now Chanel has found someone.
"You should have come out last night, Zuri, niggas everywhere," Taina spoke,
"We hitting the club tonight right for Dave's birthday?" Mia questioned looking over at Naala who was on her phone.
"Yep, I hope he likes it," Naala said biting her lip. She had rented out a section in a club for Dave's birthday that happened to be tomorrow, it was a surprise - he thought they were just going out to dinner.
"Stop fretting, he will love it," Azure reassured her,
Naala was about to open her mouth but stopped when she felt a shadow blocking the sunlight. Dave stood over her, a smirk on his lips as he analysed Naala's slim body in her bikini. She was wearing the bright orange bikini that he specifically told her to leave at home.
"I'm trying to tan right now, you're in my way," Naala giggled as she lifted up her sunglasses.
"Oh, I'll take this drink back then?" Dave said, attempting to walk back over to the bar.
Naala shot up and saw the ice cold drink in his hand, "Nope! Thank you Papa," Naala cheesed, taking a sip of the drink that tasted a Bacardi spritzer, her favourite.
"You girls want anything?" Dave questioned, "Mia I have strict orders to only get you coke or a water," Dave joked as he watched Mia's face light up at the thought of alcohol.
Mia sucked her teeth, "Tell Hassan I said kiss my ass,"
"I'll kiss you anywhere you want baby!" Ace called out making everyone laugh. Mia pouted and laid back down, these 9 months were going to be very long for her.
Dave walked back over to the bar and told the bartender the girls orders. He took his seat next Ace,
"So you really flew down here to get her back?" Ace questioned Von,
"Yeah man, I love her," Von spoke, looking towards Taina and the girls.
"I respect you fa' that man, that's some real shit," Dave said, before taking a sip of his drink, the bitter taste warming his throat. Little did he know, Von had eyes on his sister.
"Thanks man," Von smirked, "So you're the famous 'Dave'?" Von stated,
"I guess I am," Dave chuckled, not understanding where Von was coming from.
"I'm not being weird or anything but when we were in college, Naala always spoke highly of you," Dave raised his eyebrows and took another sip of his drink. Naala never mentioned that she went to college with Von and his tone of voice was off putting.
"My boy mentioned a strip club downtown, if y'all are interested?" Von spoke again,
"Strip club? I wanna survive this trip," Ace stated, "my girl don't play that shit," There was something about Von that didn't sit well with Ace so he sure as hell was not going to a strip club with him.
"Yeah count me out, I want to make it to see my birthday," Dave joked, throwing the rest of his drink back, "Lemme go check on La," Dave said before walking back towards the girls,
"Nigga let her breatheeee," Ace called out to him, Dave threw up his middle finger and sauntered back over to Naala and sat at the end of her pool chair.

8 202Drinker of the Yew: A Necromancer's Tale
Updates Once a Week next update 10/5 Wracked with misfortune, a nameless village along the edge of the Gray Spine rejoiced at the arrival of a paladin. Those celebrations, though, turned to wary tension as the paladin brought an unknown into their midst - his wife Nayinis, who wears the markings of a necromancer. Who is this woman? Why has she come to their village? Nayinis divulges her shadowed past, for she needs the village's trust to defeat the powerful foe that she has been summoned by the divine to face. What to expect: This is a slow-paced, dark, epic-fantasy book written mostly in an archaic first-person style, remniscent of fariy-tale at times. I am expecting the final product to be close to 600-700 pages. The first few chapters introduce a somewhat-steep learning curve of names and mythology of the world that plateaus at aroud chapter 5. The bookshelf behind those contained a decent amount of books. I stood up to take a closer look at them and even opened a few out of curiosity. While I could read most of them just fine, some of the oldest-looking books were written in a language I didn't recognize. "Hm? Was my hand always blue?" I didn't remember. In fact, I couldn't recall anything about myself, not even my name. Inspecting the rest of my body, I found that it was the same all over. I didn't feel sick; quite the opposite.
