I read the texts Daisy sent me and am brought back to reality. I check the time and get a little shocked.

2:00.

We've been out for hours. I did not realize we spent so much time out.

We go to a drive-through to get food before we get back and eat it on our way home.

It's noticeable how much Jamie has relaxed since we went out for the drive, and that helps me to calm down too. She softly hums along to the song playing in the car and that puts a smile on my face.

She never really talked about her father a lot, but I didn't know why. I guess I always thought it wasn't that big of a deal. What he did was cruel and I don't think I could forgive him if I were in her position. That only makes me more thankful for my own family.

I've come out to most of them — only the kids weren't involved in the conversation — and their reactions were mostly positive. Sure, it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, but at the end of the day we were still family.

My mom's side was the easiest since one of my aunts has been married to a woman for almost ten years now. The door was already opened, I just had to come out.

My dad's was a bit trickier since I didn't have this advantage and I knew they were more on the conservative side. I know my grandparents don't fully understand and support this part of me, but it's like nothing's changed, they still treat me the same. I don't know how they would react if I introduced a non-male partner to them, but let's take one step at a time.

I park the car and we walk in holding hands. She stops in front of my room, but I keep walking. "The girls kicked me out," I whisper. "I have to stay with you." We both smile and get in her room.

She closes the door behind us and looks deep into my eyes. "Thank you." She walks to me and holds my face with her hands. "You have no idea how much I appreciate what you just did for me." She places a soft kiss on my lips.

"I'll always be here for you," I say softly against her lips. "Don't forget that." I pull back and our eyes lock on each other. "Now let's sleep, I'm tired." I turn around and find my things on her bed, like Daisy said. "Can I change my clothes here or are you going to make a scene again?" I remind her of the shower incident.

"You know I think you're really hot, but I'm too tired to care right now, no offense." We giggle.

"Non taken."

We change into our sleepwear and lay down. I can still sense she's still a little uneasy, so I pull her towards me so she could lay her head on my chest. She snuggles against me and places her arm around my waist, her body letting go of the tension still there. I can't help the smile forming on my lips.

"Good night, Allie."

"Good night, Jamie."

"Hey," Daisy pulls me away from the girls, "is everything ok? We were worried last night."

I sigh and look at Jamie and Jess through the kitchen door. "Yeah... I don't wanna talk about it 'cause it's Jamie's business, but she's better now."

I look back at Daisy and there's a tiny smile on her lips. "You really like her, huh?" I grin and nod. "You know you're, like, one step away from being completely whipped, right?"

"Shut up, Daisy." I laugh and nudge her.

"But it's true!" She laughs. "And she's already whipped so..." she shrugs and looks at Jamie. "You're good for each other." She smiles at me and runs towards the pool to jump in cannonball style.

Last night Jamie and I fell asleep pretty fast, we were both exhausted and really needed some rest. This morning we talked a little before we got out of bed, I made sure to reinforce that I'll always be here for her. After that, things went back to normal, breakfast and pool, with a break for lunch.

"Hey, I forgot to tell y'all that I decided that I'll be sleeping with Daisy for the rest of our stay here," Jess says from inside the pool. "I'm sorry, Jamie, but you're a nightmare to sleep in the same bed with, and after being reminded of what a night without having to fight for the covers is like, I'll have to leave you." I laugh.

"What?" Jamie frowns. "I do not pull the covers!"

"Yes, you do."

"No, I don't!"

"Allie, back me up." Three pairs of eyes fall on me.

"I mean..." I mumble as I get in the water. "It's not as bad as Jess is putting it, but you do pull it a little."

"Treason!" Jamie exclaims. "You were the last person I expected to turn against me, Allison!"

"Stop the drama." I smile and splash some water towards her. "We'll accept the new arrangement." I turn to the other two. "Besides, Daisy snores." I giggle and Daisy jumps on top of me.

"Don't lie, Allison!" She tries to drown me, but it's useless.

"I'm moving my things before y'all change your minds." Jess runs out of the pool, grabs her towel, and rushes inside.

"Do me a favor and move mine too!" I yell.

"Do you want me to make a swan with your towels too?" she shouts and I laugh.
