I was dreading getting out of the car. My sweaty hands were in a tight ball, afraid the demon beside me would notice them shaking.
Although I think he did as I doubt nothing went past this guy without him knowing.
I also didn't bother looking out the window. What if we were in a jungle. Or what if we were at a slaughter house especially made by the Mafia for humans. What if-
"You gonna get out or should I carry you" he spoke from besides me looking impatient. Except the thing was, I was too afraid to move. My brain was not in synch with my body, and that somehow scared me even more.
I heard a mumble from besides me, as the demon slammed the door shut. I jumped in my seat, staring at the empty spot like a lost child. I whipped my head behind me as the demon opened the door.
"No tengo todo el dia, vamos" he growled something in Spanish, but translated for me as he noticed the confusion on my face.
"Five"
"Look please can you take me back home"
"Four"
"My family must be worried about me"
"Three"
"Please. This isn't right for a Muslim women to be alone with a man, especially at night"
"One" he grinned evilly. I crawled back in the seat, but I guess I was too slow. He lurched forward with such speed, I let out an involuntary squeal. "Times up, baby"
"No! Let me bloody go!" I all but screamed.
"I beg you take me back home" I opened my eyes, seeing the world upside down.
"Please, I need to go back home. My cousins must be worried about me a-and I need to wake up for t-" a loud smack shut me up instantly. I felt a stinging just below my butt. Did the demon just smack me?!
"Hey. Did you just smack me? How dare you, you're not supposed to be touching me" I smacked his back with the most courage I could muster.
In the next second, I was lurched forward as I felt like my head would explode. I rested my hands on the demons shoulders, seemingly coming back to earth.
"Have you forgot who you belong to?" He seethed, his face a few centimetres away from me.
I shook my head no. "I belong to god" I returned back, witnessing the slow process of his smirk.
"Oh cariño. How innocent"
What on earth was he talking about.
"You really think there's a god out there?" Whilst everyone has their opinion and that was perfectly okay, this was one opinion I wasn't able to agree with. Completely forgetting about my situation, I soon decided that right now, in the middle of the night, was the perfect time to give him a lecture.

"Of course there's a God out there. There's so many signs hey!-" he didn't wait for me to speak further as he carried me bridal style inside his house. My words were stuck in my mouth when I witnessed the huge mansion.
Mashallah. This is such a beautiful building. How rich was this guy?!
Completely forgetting about who held me in their arms, my eyes soaked every small detail, from the huge chandelier to the large staircase, like a sponge. The floor was spotlessly clean as I could literally see my reflection in it. Also the demon who was holding me tightly in his arms.
I squirmed in discomfort, wanting to be out of his arms. Getting the hint, he placed me on the ground. Just then a young girl ran down the grand stairs yelling papa. Why did she look so familiar.
I watched the interaction between the two from behind.
"Papa tu eres aquí!"
"Por supuesto mi amor. You should be asleep dear"
Looking closely at the child, the familiar curly hair, the cute voice. It was Jimena? Was she the daughter of Rafael the Mafia King?
She opened her eyes looking straight at me. Immediately she wiggled from her father's grip, wanting to be put down.
"Mama! You're here too! I knew papa would bring you home one day" she ecstatically beamed, holding her arms up. Rafael rather than looking mad was staring at me with a mischievous smirk on his face. I picked Jimena in my arms, smiling at her. She held my cheeks in her chubby hands and squished them tightly.
Wow. She has such a strong grip for a four year old. Must be her father's blood in her.
"Mama, why didn't you come home all those years before?" She looked sad, her eyes now downcast. My smile faultered. What do I say to her? I shouldn't leave her in the dark and instead should confront her now.
"Jimena, dear, I'm not really your mo-" suddenly the demon spoke up, cutting me off.
"Yes, love, where were you when Jimena was a baby" Jimena's eyes supported tears, as she hugged my neck tightly. As if the scarf wasn't tight enough, now I felt like I couldn't breath. I narrowed my eyes at the devil. What was he playing at. He just raised his eyebrows, seemingly amused by this entire scenario. A sly look played across his features.
"Jimena, dear" I soothed her hair.
"I-i didn't know you were even born" I mumbled lowly, hoping she didn't hear me. I mean I was telling the truth right? I wasn't lying to the poor girl. I guess she heard me as her grip tightened even more. Now she was sobbing. Very loudly.

"Help" I mouthed to the demon, only for him to look on with mischievous eyes. Suddenly he stepped forward, his hands reaching around us, ultimately locking both of us in his arms.
"Don't worry Jimena, mamas going to stay with us forever. Isn't that right, sweetheart" he said next to my ear, his hands encircling around my back. I shook my head, but stopped, as his grip tightened.
"Y-yes. Yes Jimena, I'll always be with you" I said, purposefully missing out the demons name. I did not want to be with him. Ever! Rafael growled lowly in my ear, pulling away with a not so pleased look.
Jimena thankfully calmed down as she reached away from my face, holding my cheeks In her hand.
"You promise mama" she sniffled, wiping her nose with the back of her hand. I interlocked my pinkie with hers, smiling. I wasn't expecting her to lean in and kiss me on the cheek. I looked at her adoringly, reciprocating the act. I love children with chubby cheeks. God!
"Jimena, give mama a kiss from me too" Rafael smirked. Jimena leaned forward doing what she was told. My cheeks, I could feel were going red. Please don't blush Laila. Don't be so moved by his words.
Suddenly Maria entered the grand foyer, a shocked look playing on her face. She stopped in her steps, as her gaze wondered to Rafael. She visibly gulped, before taking a few steps back, next to one of the doors.
"Maria, it's good you're here, show Laila her room and make sure she's provided with whatever she wants" Rafael's deep voice echoed.
"No no" I shook my head. "I think I should go now. My family must be worried about me" I reasoned hoping he'd listen. Who was I kidding.
His jaw was tense and his hands balled in fists. He stepped forwards, suddenly taking Jimena from my arms. He mumbled something to her, kissing her on the cheek and placing her on the floor.
"Ciao mama, I will see you tomorrow morning" she giggled as I smiled. Although internally I was a literal mess of fear and nerves.
He said something in Spanish to Maria, as she took Jimena in her arms and nodded.
"S-si señor" and with that both the girls were out of sight. Leaving me alone with a very angry demon.
"I said you're not going anywhere" he all but seethed. How do I explain to this thickhead that I need to be home.
"Look, I can come here during the daytime, but I can't stay here overnight. You don't understand, I'm not like other girls who would sleep in strangers houses willingly. I have to be here with a guy, like my brother or my husband-"
"Who is he" he growled, his hands gripping my arms tightly.
"Do not make me repeat myself" his anger was visible causing me to step back a few times. Since he's already angry, why not just annoy him more.
That'll get you for being so domineering!
"H-he doesn't live here. He's back home and it's been a while since I've talked to him. My baby must be s-"
"Don't you dare!" Came his yell as he suddenly flipped me over his shoulder. "Don't you dare utter another boys name ever again. I will kill him" I rolled my eyes, happy he couldn't see me.
"Ill kill your family too. Show you not to mess with me" my eyes stopped in the back of my head. I attempted to leap up, fisting his suit shirt in my hands and trying to get up. I wiggled my legs around but a smack on my butt, this time, stopped my moves completely.
"How dare you touch me!" Punch.
"You piece of sugar, wait till I get my hands on you!" Punch.
"Ugh!' I growled, punching him again and again and again. Was I that weak that they didn't have an effect on him?
Infact the punches hurt me more.
I was ashamed to be touched so rudely by the opposite gender. My cheeks were not only red from being upside down for so long but also from the demons crude actions.
I squealed expecting to be thrown on the floor, but was surprised at the softness. I soon realised it was a king-size bed. Rafael stood before me, his curly hair tussled and the once ironed shirt all creased and disoriented. I gulped, not liking what will happen. Nothing good ever happened when a girl was thrown on a bed like this.
I crawl back, my eyes solely on the demon who was breathing heavily.
"You'll learn your lesson tonight, doll" he inched forward, leaning over the bed. His eyes were full of anger and hunger. Thank you luck, once again, for cornering me against the bed frame. Oh how I love being helpless, I thought sourly.
