"Laila, what are you looking for?" Lameesa asked, stopping at my doorway whilst scrolling through her phone.
I panicked, not wanting to tell her about the letters I'd been receiving.
"Emm nothing, just clearing up under my bed" which was sort of true, I wasn't entirely lying at all.
She seemed to be satisfied with the answer as she hummed before leaving the room.
"Okay, I'll leave you to it then"
"Where are you, where are you you stupid letters"
"Aha" I exclaimed, holding the box of letters out in front of me. I quickly scurried away, shoving everything unnecessary under my bed and running towards the door.
I looked down to see I had already wasted three whole minutes. Shoot. I better get a move on.
I ran as fast as I could towards the park whilst the demons threats played around in my brain like a broken record. I stopped to get my breath back only momentarily.
And then the running started again. The harsh wind was blowing against my face, giving me a headache. For god sake. The things I have to do for that man is unbelievable.
I reached the park with just a minute to spare. I sped down the dark walkway as I reached the bench where the demon was situated, smoking.
He looked up from staring at his cigarette bud to my disheveled state. My heart beat was erratic and my breathing was uneven. I'm pretty sure I stopped breathing when the demon stood to his full height.
I held out the box In front of me with both my hands, suddenly feeling thirsty.
The demon payed no attention to my state, as he took the box frome, chucking away the lid as i mingled with the wind, before identifying the contents inside.
My breathing had gone back to normal. I furrowed my eyebrows at the demons strange behaviour. He took one letter from the box, running his fingers over the bottom left side. I took this time to observe his face, as a five 'o' clock shadow played about his jaw. His eyebrows seemed to be furrowed in concentration as he inspected the edges of the paper.

Raising the paper above his head, he seemed to be deep in thought. I watched eagerly to what he was doing. It seemed like he was looking through the paper, and through my own close inspection, I could make out something shiny.
Wait? What on earth was that shiny thing in the paper. I looked to the demon for answers, which I knew he wouldn't give me, but I instead saw no expresisons on his face. It seemed like his mind and his face were connected to two separate things.
If possible he looked lethal, like he was mastermind behind world domination, or anonymous.
I could not tell what he was thinking for the life of me.
Out of the blue my phone pinged with a message. The demon took no notice in this so I quickly took it out. It was a guy from the hospital whom I had met.
According to him, he had missed the entire first month at the hospital and coincidentally he met me in the staff room. He looked nervous and I could easily tell he hadn't been working here before.
From then on, I gave him my number In case he had some concerns regarding the hospital.
He messaged me for the timetable which we would have for this week. I'm guessing he either didn't receive it or perhaps wasn't able to find it. Either way, I sent him a screenshot of the timetable.
"Who are you speaking to all lovey-dovey" the demon answered startling me. I completely forgot he was here.
"No one" I exclaimed, trying to act upset and not all 'lovey-dovey' as he put it. Even if I was, what's it to him?
"Don't lie to me putta" he all but growled at me. The menacing look in his eyes forced me to speak.
"It's just this guy-"
"What guy" he seethed, now intervening my personal bubble without a care. I stepped back, or should I say attempted to had it not been for his tight grip on my forearm.

"Dont make me repeat myself"
"I-it was s-someone from t-the h-hospital asking f-for our timetable" I said cautiously, with fearful eyes, not knowing whether my words would lead to the beast coming out.
"Why not anyone else" he seethed.
I didn't like this one bit. Him controlling me and me listening to everything he's saying like a lost lamb.
"I-i don't know" I mumbled, trying to stay as quiet as possible. He leaned down.
"Y-you don't know" he said mockingly.
"Well lemme answer for you puta. It's because you want to lure boys in with this innocent act of yours don't you" his right hand now gripped my cheeks, causing me to pout.
My responses and protests came out muffled as I attempted to reply.
His other hand went around my waist, crushing me against his solid form. My eyes widened in protest as I tried to inflict a small amount of harm on him one way or another. But it was all useless. He was smarter than that.
"Yeah. Tell you what why don't you take off your hijab since you don't follow your religion properly. Girl" his gaze followed the outline of my scarf as he spat out those words.
My mouth was beginning to hurt and no amount of shaking my head or trying to get out of his grip helped.
"No" I attempted to say but couldn't.
"What was that" he brought his face closer to mine, as if he couldn't hear me.
My hands on his chest formed into fists. He was not my husband for me to be so close.
Tears welled up in my eyes from the strong hold on my face and also because I think mother nature would be visiting me today. What a bloody Coincedance! Pun intended. It just had to be now of all days that I felt emotional.
Although now was not the time for puns. A phonecall rang in the air, cutting through the thick tension. The demon let go of me completely, sneering while he did so. I stumbled back, messaging my cheeks to ease the burning pain. I refused to allow the tears to fall.
The demons entire visage transformed into a beast. He looked angry. Oh so very angry. I stepped back, afraid of what he may do. He patiently listened to the person on the phone before ending it.
My heart beat increased by a thousand when he literally threw the phone on the floor, and with just one step, he broke it in half. I watched on numb.
His next actions only added to my shock as he took something out from his suit pocket. Another phone? What was he? A live phone store.
He began cursing in Spanish, im presuming whilst dialling a number. He suddenly looked up at me.
"Ven conmigo" his eyes burned into my own.
"W-what?"
He didn't bother replying as he walked away. I stood there confused. What did he just say. As if noticing I wasn't following him, he turned around, a hard look playing on his face.
"I will shoot you if you don't follow me" that got me moving.
