《The Devil's Bride》Tear Drop

The unresponsive night of New York city was chilly and temperate. The smell of rain was puttering around the night and the cheerful sound of children who were excited for Family night out together. They gathered around a spot and played games. They were one sweet happy family.
"I'm happy today." Silver said as he stirs up a cup of coffee in a mug and took a huge sip. "It wants to rain." He mused like a small child.
I giggle at him as I take a seat next to him, the soft blanket rested just right above my knees. I also had a cup of hot chocolate. Radically, Silver and I were all cozied up and ready to watch a horror movie.
He explained to me what a horror movie was and how it went. At first, I was terrorized but then he said it was all acting. I decided to watch one to see for myself.
The intro of the movie, Walking dead starts and suddenly I'm fascinated and eager. I felt a little buzzed up to watching a horror movie.
"You happy about watching a horror movie?" Silver looks at me, his eyes shimmering. I eagerly nodded, taking a huge draw of my hot chocolate.
I hear him chuckle. "This might be your last." He mutters taking another. I just stick out my tongue at him for being an annoying bee.
Suddenly, I saw blood splatters from a boy and spread on the floor, the boy suddenly dead. Cold runs down my spine as I shifted restlessly on my seat. What have I gotten myself into?
A cold piercing scream echos from the screen. A soft whimper flies out from my lips as I drop the mug and cover my ears and eyes, looking away.
"Please switch it off." I pleaded.
The gruff sound of boot that stepped on the asphalt. Andrew looks up at the big building that stood high in all its glory looking as pretty as ever. A small smirk made its way to Andrew's lips as he continues to stare at all the luxuries.
He had come to know from a given source that the devil was on earth. He knew he'd come. It was certain. He chuckles when he catches the red eyes that glittered right across the tinted window.
Synn had seen him.
Red eyes now? Andrew thought to himself as he locks eyes with Synn before teleporting away and back to the chamber.
Synn snarled when he saw the sparkling of the dust of Andrew's teleportation. He slams his hand on the table, his growl louder. He didn't know how to feel but a plan was cooking in his head. If he was the one who created a death marker, then he would also be the same person to end one. And that was going to be Andrew.
He looks back at the spot where Andrew stood and chuckles. He stares long into space, his thoughts contending. He knew well that Andrew had seen him and that he knew he was on earth.

"I thought you said you could handle it." Silver smirk, mockingly. "I thought I could," I said as I take out the mug I had used to drink into the sink to wash it. One of the maids looks at me protesting she washes the cup but I just shrugged and told her I can.
I walk back into the living room and curl myself in the blanket, switching the channel to one of my new favourite channels. "I thought I could. Also, I was trying to take the risk."
"Don't next time." Silver laughs. "You wouldn't know what's installed for you at the other side." He finishes off. I nod at his reply and proceeded in watching my relaxing movie.
•°•
"Hey!" I heard a tap on my shoulder. "You fell asleep so quickly. Might want to go to your room and sleep there. It's 10 PM." Silver's voice rang. I threw out a tired yawn and look at him. "Is it?" I asked and he just drones. I didn't know when I had fallen into a deep slumber but I guess that's a good thing because I needed to take a nap.
I remove the blanket from my body and stretch, feeling my bones crack. Oh, cheese! How long did I fall asleep? I walk up the stairs, feeling myself get troubled and at the same time, sleepy. I was a sleepy bean and whenever I got woken early, I become whiny and stubborn. I open the door to our room and walk tiredly into it, my legs aching to have a bed below me.
I turn around to glance around the room, looking for a particular figure. When I didn't see one, I sigh and get into bed, drawing the covers up to my chin. Half a minute, I saw Synn come out from the bathroom with his PJs on. Someone should kiss my cheeks.
Synn stood in pink PJs that had indented pictures of ducks and muffins. I kinda did find it cute but I wouldn't say it. Don't tell him I did, shush! I let out a muffled giggle when I spotted him looking at himself in disgust. Hey! I thought he didn't bring any clothes with him.
I didn't need to change into my PJs because I was feeling lazy as never before. I was just exhausted and feeling sleepy. But I couldn't just by seeing Synn in such cute attire!
"Fuck me!" I heard him mutter and I pout at his choice of language. "I look like a fucking duck!" He says aloud this time and I just nod silently. You sure do Mr. Duck.
I almost laughed hard when I saw the biggest mouse at the back of his PJs. It was very cute with a squishy face.
He turns away from the mirror and walks to the bed. His eye traces down to my frame before going over the other side and laying on the spot. Sometimes, he confuses me. He likes to stare a lot at things and one of them was me. He had a very bad temper and suddenly he curses.

"I know you aren't sleeping, Linda. You've been staring at me since I came out with this fucking PJ." I heard Synn's voice boom. His voice was surprisingly cryptic and deep, rich with whatever that makes/made a male voice deep. His voice suddenly made me nervous. I felt like I was in a courtroom being judged for something. It felt so weird having him lay next to me. I could feel his warmness radiant.
The disturbing part was him knowing I was staring at him. It was just so weird and stalk-ish that he knew or saw me.
"Talk to me, Linda. Your silence is killing me."
This makes my heart puff but I don't bother talking or moving. I was going to stick to my self-promise. I wouldn't talk to him unless he starts to treat me equitably and knows what his mistake was.
I heard a small growl from him as he mutters something under his breath. A concise silence was followed by until I felt the covers being rent off of me. I gasp suddenly feeling a lot exposed.
"You wouldn't talk to me huh?" I hear him chuckle propelling a chill down my entire bones. His voice was rough and quiet but still loud to be heard. I look down at my fingers and twirl them, my lips shaking at the mood. Let's just sleep.
I hear the movement of his feet from where he stood and I knew he was coming over to me. I trembled on my spot feeling afraid of him already. I felt my wrist being dragged up and a firm squeeze was given to it. Tight enough for me to whimper.
"If you think ignoring me would try to make a point then you're mistakenly wrong." He said loud this time. He drags me up from the bed and pushes me toward him. I almost tripped and fell if not for Synn holding my wrist.
I don't look up at him and just look down, tears already clouding the rim of my eyes. I know I should be strong and I'm trying and I wouldn't cry. I will be strong and I am strong. I knew it.
"Still not talking, huh?" He asks and I recoil. I continue to look down at my feet, fighting the urge to release my wrist from his large grasp. I feel my eyes getting sodden.
And then, he gave my wrist a painful squeeze and I almost looked at him and beg him to stop. I felt the fingertip of his fingers raise my chin to look at him and that's when I had it. The tears I'd been keeping just slump out like rain as I choke on a sob.
I look at him finally giving in to his torment. He releases my wrist and just watches me cry, me still being near him. It hurt so much to be weak in front of your predator. I just hated how vulnerable I looked and sounded. No matter how hard I tried to mask it all, he still sees through me. The weak and fragile me.
"You look beautiful when you cry." I hear his cruel and cynical words. I choke more on my own sobs and I look down. "But this is what you get for disobeying me." His voice blasts out more.
He takes a step close, too close for my liking and says. "I think you're forgetting who you are and who you're talking to. You don't try all this bullshit with me, Linda!" The way he says my voice makes me want to cry more.
"I'm the son of Lucifer." He said, somewhat clarifying my thought about that. "And no one gets away from me. So if you think ignoring me will make me feel like shit, then execute that idea." He finishes up.
Or at least that was what I thought. He grabs my chin on his fingertip and raises my head up. I could feel the small goosebumps that fell on my skin as he does so. His eyes are deep red with blood and his lips are arced up in a smirk. His eyes are enough for me to pee my pants or increase my tummy crick more. I'd never seen his eyes so red before. I so want to wipe the smirk away.
I could feel the salty tears that run down my eyes and almost gave way to my lips. Synn watches the way my tears drop down my face. He raises his other hand and wipes them away, the smirk still there. "I like this view." He whispers so we're both hearing him. It hurt so much to hear that from him.
"Don't ever cry in front of anyone like this." He said. My lips tremble as he brings the finger he used to wipe my tears. I spot a little drop on his fingertip. He gawks at me and slowly brought that finger to his lips and licks them, my tears tainting his lips.
Blush covers my whole face as I continue to watch him suck my teardrop off his finger before dropping them down. "All your tears are mine to see and make." He speaks. I observe how he spun his tongue inside his mouth.
"Know that." And then, he pulls away from me and walks out of the room.

The Adventures of Alan
What happens when a university professor somehow ends up in another world, where magic bends the laws of nature? Alan is, albeit unwillingly, about to find out. As a professor of physics, he has a decent understanding of how the world works, or so he likes to think. Armed only with his knowledge, Alan is thrown into a world very different from his own. In his new reality, he will meet both friends and foe, he will seek knowledge, he will build power, and perhaps he will even find love again? Follow Alan through his adventures, and find out for yourselves how he deals with the challenges thrown at him by a new world, while struggling with the issues brought with him from his old one. * Author’s note: A fair warning. This is the first time I’ve published anything, and basically the first time I’ve written anything more than mandatory school-stuff. The story will probably have inconsistencies, grammatical errors (not my native tongue, though that excuse is getting old), and potentially confusing (missing?) plot. I will naturally do my best to write something worth reading, but my main goal in writing this story is to have fun and explore the limits of my own creativity. My hope in publishing it here, is that I’ll reach someone who enjoy the story, and can push me forward towards writing more, as it is difficult at times to find the motivation to write just for myself. Additionally, I can’t really promise to have regular updates, as I have a full-time job that often likes to take the ‘full-time’ part literally, and a sporadic social life that occasionally surprises me (happy surprises mostly, so I shouldn’t complain). I’ll aim for once a week to start with, and take it from there. Happy reading! Cover photo by Jeff Hire (/photographer/gun4hire-58415), from https://freeimages.com/.

Contact First
2039 - Earth A narrow beam energy signal appeared aimed squarely at earth from the TRAPPIST system. The communication consisted of a layered set of repeating data over several thousand wavelengths. Over the next few months scientists discovered that the lower wavelengths carried an encoded numerical language which could then be used to interpret the more complicated messages carried on the higher wavelengths. After half a year of painstaking work the signal was fully decoded. It described a small satellite launched along a precise trajectory towards the fourth planet of our solar system. Included was a package of advanced research that humanity would need to have ready in order to receive the satellite and decelerate it safely. The alien data provided the kick that humanity needed to turn from petty squabbling and unite to explore the final frontier. Major government and corporate leaders worked together to create the framework for the United Federation of Sol. UFS spaceports went from scaffolding to daily launches in every major city around the globe. Ships floated like dandelion seeds, spreading on solar wind to grow into colonies. 2397 - Mars orbit, Egeria Station The command center was a hive of activity as checks were conducted and systems initialized. Scientists flitted by like mayflies as communicators beeped and holoscreens spat out green tinted readouts. Nervous energy was thick in the air as everyone anticipated the culmination of over three hundred years of work. Massive fusion reactors under the planet's surface thrummed with barely restrained power as energy fed into a gleaming metallic maze criss crossing the planet. Metal fingers reached up, overshadowing the mighty olympus mons and trying to grab the stars. All over the solar system, people quickly turned to look as gigantic energy lances shot from the dusty fourth planet. Two years later. The same people that clapped loudly at the successful activation of project Hermes now wait with baited breath. A silver capsule trailing bright photonic sails is captured by a net of grav beams and guided with care bordering on reverence into the station. Holoscreens across the headquarters project an image of the sleek craft settling in the bay. Data connections are established and the holoscreens blink to white. Slowly an image forms on the screen. Across the headquarters people stare in wonder as a wholly alien face stares back. "Contact established. Welcome to the universe."
