《Lose Myself》Chapter Twenty-Eight: Adventure with Me

Author: I don't know if its a good thing, how long this chapter is...
It was pretty dark for daylight, though all I could see was black.
"Don't open your eyes. Keep 'em closed." he whispered.
"God the intensity is killing me." I said in the most sarcastic voice ever, I was actually pretty content in staying blind and letting him hold me for eternity.
He led forward, "Okay, you're going into the car now. Watch your step."
"Oh," I sang, "What a gentleman."
"Do you want me to just throw you in?" he suggested, he sounded like he was standing to my right. I put my hand out.
"Calm down, I can't see remember?" I frowned trying to find the actual car, I heard blows of air and frowned. Was he laughing at me?
It was only when he drew in a breath that I knew for sure the bastard was messing with me, he forgets I can hear where he is. I jabbed my elbow into what I presumed was his stomach, which was hard but not impossible. The laughing immediately stopped.
"Jesus." He hissed.
"Hurry up." I whined. I could imagine he was wearing a stupid look on his face.
After Dominic had picked me up – putting me in my seat and securing a seatbelt – I felt the car start up and sighed. "Do I have to keep it on it the car?" I complained.
He chuckled. I frowned, "You might as well be kidnapping me you know."
"Most people may think that," he replied, "Luckily for us we're not going through the m- "
"The what?" I jumped excited, he almost slipped.
"Nothing."
I sighed then started humming a song that was stuck in my head, the car ride was lengthy – there was absolutely nothing I could see – so I put myself to sleep.
The next moment I was being picked up bridal style, I yawned stretching my arms. I heard a snicker from Dominic but just went back to sleep. The bastard won't let me see anything.
"Amara." He called my name in a hushed tone.
"Hm?" I hummed.
"You can take it off."
I jumped, "Really?" I was smiling so big.
He chuckled untying the band then roughing up my hair before sitting in the chair across from me, he honestly had nerve. "A plane." I narrowed my eyes, speaking with a tone of disappointment.
"Sì." He smiled. I watched him put the fabric in his pocket, which was definitely going back on my face in a few hours. I threw my head back in defeat, running a hand through my hair to repair the damages. A ding went off, Dominic pulled out his phone – switched it off – then put it back into his pocket. I narrowed my eyes even more, that was an unusual thing for him to do.
He moved to leaning on the arm of the chair, resting his chin in his palm and watching me. I copied his move and leaned on my arm as well, also making full eye contact. He wouldn't stop looking so I wouldn't stop looking. He cocked his head to the side. I cocked my head to the side.
I ended up with very dry eyes, I was tired of this game and it wasn't fun anymore. I laid back in my chair again, huffing. Dominic continued to stare. I grew tired of his in depth observation and decided we should play a game. All I can come up with when bordering on death by boredom.

"We're here." Dominic held out the stupid black fabric, "You wanna do it yourself?"
I snorted, "Yes." I took it from him, sending him a dirty look and wrapping the cloth around my face, tying it. He moved it a little to make sure I wasn't peeking, if I didn't trust this man he'd have no balls right now.
"Okay cool." He huffed, "You want me to carry you?"
"Hm..." I pretended to think, "Yes."
I didn't want to go down the stairs without eyesight, for me that would be a big mistake. He chuckled lifting me up, I couldn't see so I just smiled to no one in particular.
We walked before we got in another car, I hope we were going somewhere fun. I tried sniffing around when we got out of the car again, the jingle of keys got my ears perking up. Dominic blew out a breath, putting me down and patting my head. I assume he turned to open the door before he picked me up again, kicking the door shut with his foot.
"I wanna swing." I pushed my legs out trying to rock side to side.
"Uh, no." he replied putting me down once again, it felt like we were outside again. He untied the cloth with one hand but used the other to keep it in front of my eyes, I jumped a little from sheer excitement. "Sorpresa il mio amore! I hope you like it." he whispered letting the blindfold fall from my face.
My eyes went wide, I was looking at Greece. We looked to be on a high land surface, on a terrace that overlooked the town and the water. The was a enclosure of cliffs on both sides of the water but looking ahead it seemed endless, the houses were painted white just like the internet pictures. I walked over to the railing looking at the people below that rode on scooters, walked with tote bags and wore floppy hats. I could even spot a few good looking greek men on their way back from the beach, but I wasn't interested in that.
I turned back to look at Dominic, "Its beautiful."
"Isn't it?" he looked around, he turned to find me standing in front of him.
"How did you think of it?"
"It was about time we went to a country where neither of us knew the language, maybe we'll learn something." he shrugged. I chuckled shaking my head, always seeking knowledge this one.
I put a hand on hand his shoulder, stretching up so I could give him a peck on the lips. He looked surprised as I skipped away. To explore the house of course.
"C'mon let's go, pretty please!" she jumped up a down like a toddler, I couldn't possibly refuse. I rolled my eyes nodding at the same time, she grinned up at me before running to our room and pulling her suitcase out. I leaned on the doorframe as she dug for her swimsuit.
"Sometimes I think you want to go swimming just to mess with me." I sighed as she pulled out two pieces of fabric.
"I'm sorry I'm good at dressing myself." she snorted before grabbing a maxi dress and hopping to the bathroom. She was really light on her feet.
I changed into board shorts and a shirt, Amara exited the bathroom with a maxi white dress over her bright blue swimsuit. She grabbed my hand and started pulling me to the door, I grabbed my keys off the table and locked the door with her pulling her weight on my arm.

We walked down the street, she'd put on a floppy hat and I wore shades. We got a lot of sweet smiles from old ladies, if only they knew. Regardless we entertained them, getting flowers tucked behind our ears and a frozen yoghurt cup to share.
We got to the beach, Amara and I splashed along the water for a while. Then we started getting deeper into the ocean and put our things aside. I shook my head as she ran back to the water, many gazes following her and not just mine.
We swam, splashing each other and her trying to drown me - multiple times.
"I've had enough." I put my hands up starting to walk back to shore, she groaned.
"You're being such a p-ssy." she challenged. I stopped walking, turning to look at her and narrowing my eyes. She stepped back, I lunged for her - picking her up and throwing her. She landed a metre away with a squeal. I continued to walk back to shore.
"Fine I'm gonna swim for five more minutes."
"Then we're gonna get food."
"Yes!" she fist pumped. I chuckled.
Five minutes passed and I watched as she began to swim to shore, so did plenty of other people on the beach. I ignored their whispers. Bit by bit she emerged from the water, running a hand through her hair. She took her time getting to me.
"I'm so tired." she blew out, "I reckon we should get food. Do you know any places?" she asked shrugging her dress on, I continued to watch her put her hat on then grabbed her hand and led her to the main road.
"I'm sure we'll find someplace." I assured her. She scratched her chin looking at each restaurant we passed, then we spotted a small family restaurant and decided that was it.
We sat eating beautiful greek cuisine, I couldn't help but be amused when Amara pulled a funny face at the taste of marinated octopus. I ignored it for the sake of the people around us but she seemed like more of an extrovert. We finished our dish, Amara saying it turned out better than she thought. And I saying I knew it would.
"How about we go on a boat?" we were walking back alongside the beach.
"What?" she turned to look at me.
"We have two hours till sunset. Why not?"
"Okay." she grinned.
We headed for the docks, where my yacht sat. It hadn't been used in a very long time. I held out my hand to help Amara get onboard, she immediately went to the tip of it.
"Watch your head." I advised before going to check on things, when I came back out she was hanging her legs over the front. "Before you ask, yes this thing will move. Give me a minute."
"You own it don't you?"
"Of course." I replied.
"Of course." I heard her mimicking me. I shook my head, huffing as I took my seat and started up the boat.
We drove around the bay and found a climb that had a rope and everything. I parked the boat and we got out in our swimmers, climbing to the very top.
"Ready?"
"The sunset is incredibly gorgeous." she eyed the view. "Let's do this."
"Alright."
We walked to the edge, gave each other a look and then jumped. Midair I tugged her arm bringing our bodies together, we hit the water and this time I didn't let go. We swam to the surface still in an embrace.
"I think we should do that every time we go somewhere new." I looked up at her, she had wrapped her legs around my torso and was now a head taller than me. It was becoming an exercise holding her up like this.
"Find a cliff and jump off it?"
"Sì."
"That's a promising idea." she smirked. She knew it meant I planned on going to many places, this was not going to be our only trip. There will be many in future.
We decided to swim back to the boat, we sat on the rocks for a while and watched the sun retreat - leaving us with the stars.
"We should get back, later at night and we might get into some issues." I suggested, she nodded in agreement and we got back on the boat.
Amara lay on the front of it, stargazing. "What type of boat is this?" she shouted back.
I smiled, "It's a yacht."
"Oh." she replied.
We went all way back to the house, "This house is magnificent etched into the mountain like this." she commented as I open the door.
"Sì," I smiled, "I guess it is quite intricate."
We changed into our sleepwear, Amara stood at the dresser. I watched from the bed as she removed her ring, putting it into a special box. "What if I loose it?" she sighed tying her hair up.
"Hm?" I cocked my head to the side.
"The ring."
"Oh," I smiled, "We'll sort it out tomorrow."
"Okay." she breathed.
----
"Amara are you ready?" I heard him from the living room. I was simply brushing my teeth and it hadn't even been fifteen minutes since I walked in here. Not everyone can just walk in, take a shower and walk out looking flawless like he can.
"Okay I'm done." I shouted back after I rinsed my mouth, I took out my ponytail and tied back my front hairs before walking out to meet him.
"We're taking a scooter today."
"Oh are we exploring?" I jumped. He nodded. I jumped a little more, "Yes." I hissed.
The scooter thing was new to me, Dominic was patient as I figured out a way to stop my dress from causing a hazard. When I was finally ready we started up, we drove down many streets and through a number of alleys. It was beautiful, how this place was designed. All these house were white and there were so many flowers.
I closed my eyes as the wind blew in my hair, holding my arms out. I was startled when we came to a stop.
"That reminds me." Dominic was looking at the ring on my finger, I put my hands down as he got off the bike, steadying myself. He told me to wait and ran into a little shop, it had little ornaments and statues in the window. He came back out and held out his hand, I reluctant removed the ring and gave it to him.
I immediately understood as he unclasped a plain necklace he'd obviously purchased and slid the ring on it. I lifted my hair as he clasped it around my neck.
"There we go." he pecked my cheek, "Now you won't loose it."
"How sweet." I smiled. He congratulated himself as he got back on the bike, I wrapped my arms around his torso and we took off. We drove around for an awful long time, we went to almost every part of town. Dominic stopped at a flower shop and bought me a white rose, he put it in my hair fitting it in between my half-up hairdo.
We even went back to the beach we were at yesterday and went for a walk. We talked about things that interested us, like music and food. That's it. It was too risky to go into further topics like what we had in common, all the things we had in common were dark. It would just dampen the mood, more so ruin it.
We stopped at a small supermarket and picked up some ingredients for a special dish Dominic said he knew how to make. I wasn't even sure if he could cook or not anymore. He seemed to be able in simple dish with the acceptance of gelato and macarons but...
I lay on the sofa in the living room as he made dinner. It started smelling really good so I got up to check it out.
"No." I heard Dominic's command and stopped in my tracks, "You're not allowed to peek."
I groaned flopping back onto the couch. I leaned on side watching the town as it lit in the darkness, I could see into a couple of windows. There was a pretty college looking girl who was on a laptop and in another window a gorgeous old woman who was cooking at a stove. I can imagine what they might see. One a strange girl looking into people houses and around the corner a man in the kitchen - not wearing a shirt - looking like he knows what he's doing.
I chuckled to myself. How entertaining that must be.
"Okay its ready."
I bet they could see me suddenly jump up abnormally high and rush around that corner, hopping into a seat at the table and watching with wide eyes as the man put the dish in front of me. How wonderful a turn this display took. I'd love to watch us, I think we're pretty interesting.
"Bon appetite." he presented the food. I snorted.
"So you can perfect a french accent but not a german one.."
"That's not the point." he frowned slightly, "Doesn't the food look good?"
"I'll be the judge of that."
He rolled his eyes sitting on the end of the table, watching me. I chewed for a while pretending to still think about it but I couldn't hold it in any longer.
"It's really good!" I nodded, "No need to put it any other way. This food tastes better than it looks." I looked him right in the eye, "I commend you."
He chucked, "Good to hear."
We sat and ate our meals, Dominic made extra by accident so we both had seconds. After we ate we decided to go swimming again, well I decided. I'd noticed before that Dominic had tattoos, multiple in fact.
They weren't small either and definitely could be spotted. It was just that every time he took off his shirt, his abs distracted me every time. And so I never got around to actually looking at them, I wanted to know what each one meant.
A guy with no emotions has to get tattoos for some reason, the best way he can express passion for something - I can imagine.
I took longer than Dominic to get changed so when I got out there he was already swimming, I watched from the edge as he swam beneath the water. The pool lights allowing me to see his hair glistening and his muscles flexing with each movement.
He came to the surface, "You coming in? It was your idea."
"Yeah I know that." I replied sliding into the water.
He swam around me, I watched as he stood and gave me a confused look. I must have an anxious expression on my face, I just didn't want to outright touch him everywhere. I knew where my mind was heading, a flashback took over for a second before I got myself under control. It was hard to forget I wasn't a virgin anymore.
I decided to take the casual approach instead of making it so awkward. He followed my movements as I swam around him and started counting out loud. I pointed at each one, I counted five.
"You have five tattoos."
"Thats almost accurate." he replied, looking at me as I looked at one. It was a sleeve tattoo on his right arm that went down until before his elbow. It wasn't a harsh finish, it sort of ended with a woodland tree. It was like a picture of the woods behind his house and it ended with the tallest tree pointing down his arm.
"What's the sleeve mean?" I asked still tracing it with my finger.
"Its to remind me of my childhood before I went to the institution, so I don't forget what that was like."
"That's," I hesitated, "Good."
I moved to the next one that took my interest, a medium sized cross on right arm as well, it was next to his wrist on the left side. The simplest one I think.
"What's this one about?" I was lifting his arm up to my face but he let me do what I wanted to.
"It simply a cross in honour of the faith my familia practises. Italians are predominantly catholic."
His left arm had 'R.I.P' printed on the inside of his wrist. I looked to him weirdly.
"All the deaths I've caused and will continue to cause in future." he said simply. I nodded.
I moved to his chest now standing in front of him, he had a huge paragraph of writing I wasn't bothered to read tattooed on his left just above his nipple. I raised a brow.
"Thats the oath of the mafia. Everyone who joins the familia says it - in full - at their initiation. Which occurs around Christmas, that - I'm sure - is when you'll be saying yours."
I shrugged. I couldn't see anymore, I was about to move to the back before he snorted.
"There's one more." he smirked pointing down. I prayed to god number six wasn't in his pants, I was still sore from -
I was relieved to spot it just above his V, I knelt a little but kept my head above water so I could still see. No luck. "What is it?"
"Japanese text, it says 'Weakness is sin'." he informed still looking smug.
He also had roman numerals on the nape of his neck, I sat on the edge of the pool with him between my legs trying to figure out what it stood for.
"My late elder brother's birthday." he answered the question for me.
"Oh I remember you mentioning him before."
"Sì." he turned to face me, "Would you like me to get a tattoo for you?"
"Oh," I was blushing, "You don't have to, honestly..."
"I'm going to." he said decidedly getting out of the pool. "Tomorrow." he said over his shoulder as he walked back to the house.
"Oh," I smiled to myself, "Okay."
