《Lose Myself》Chapter Twenty: First Day

The song " 'Fresh Eyes' by Andy Grammar " reminds me so much of this chapter.
"Svegliare il mio amore." a warm puff of air brushed my ear, I shook the tingle away as I snuggled deeper into the blanket. It was really warm.
"Wake up love." the breeze brushed my ear again, I groaned. I heard chuckling before the air became warm again, "I will make you a pizza."
My eyes snapped open, I made a sad attempt at sitting up as a huge weight kept me pinned down, I fell back. "Let me up," I puffed, "I want pizza."
"Ah ah ah," Dominic chuckled, "Your not allowed pizza for breakfast."
I pouted, "You lied to me."
"I did not lie."
"Yes you did." I flopped back into my sleeping position and attempted at sleep. Dominic's heavy arm left its spot around my waist and the bed lifted as he stood. I popped one eyelid open and used the dressing table mirror to sneak a peek. He was still shirtless and only in boxers.
"It is wrong to spy on people getting dressed." he casually stated, grabbing a shirt from a drawer.
"I was not."
"You were to."
"Was not."
"Were to." he sang walking out the door, I sprung into action. Grabbing my robe and tying it as I shoved my feet into my fluffy slippers. I quickly followed.
"It's unusually quiet." I shared my observation as I continued to tag Dominic down the stairs.
"Sì," he replied, "They all had things to do. It's also the day off for cleaners, especially after the clean up last night required."
I didn't know how to reply to that, "Good for them." I cringed a little. He chuckled. What was really bothering me was, what was I going to do home alone with Dominic?
"First order of business," he spoke, I turned my attention to him who had led me to the kitchen and now stood with a knowing smirk plastered onto his face, I frowned a little, "Breakfast." he finished.
"Right." I said more to myself.
"Make me food woman!" Dominic exclaimed shutting his eyes and putting on the appearance of a stuck-up, spoilt, ignorant bastard.
"Excuse you." I said walking past him and opening the fridge.
"What's inside?" Dominic now stood behind me, peeking into the fridge. I wanted to move out of the way so that he wouldn't stand so close like that but that would only cause more contact, which I didn't need. He was practically caging me between him and the fridge.
"Food." I answered back.
"Brilliant." he breathed.
"Yeah." I breathed.
"What shall we do with it?"
I chuckled, "Eat it."
"Brilliant."
"Yeah."
I was only slightly relieved as Dominic walked over to the cupboard, allowing me freedom from imprisonment. I closed the fridge behind me, he walked over to the counter island and propped some fresh ingredients. I walked over and observed his findings then watched again as he rounded the kitchen grabbing the necessary utensils. He rounded again to the fridge before placing the last few items on the counter and letting out a breath.
"Okay," he nodded to himself then looked at me, "Make me food."
"You're an idiot."
"Am not."
I grabbed a couple things, "Are too." I began pulling a few things aside, it was only now that I realised the stuff he brought out was almost one of everything and he most likely didn't have a dish in mind. I rolled my eyes, "You can put the rest away." He nodded proceeding with doing so, I wonder if he can cook. Something other than pizza.

I wouldn't be surprised if he couldn't, the man had grown up in a household where a team of people made his food for him and a special person took care of his diet. He then went on to live in a facility where his meals were also given to him and then again, grew up to live alone but not without a maid to cook and clean also. Spoilt didn't begin to describe him.
I began making a range of things, deciding I would put them together to make a whole meal. It seemed that I was capable of cooking food, sometimes it just takes common sense but I can assure you I didn't have my mother to teach me the basics. Dominic sat and watched as I moved around, doing what he so obviously could not and seemingly succeeding.
"What are you making?"
I glanced over, "A normal breakfast."
I finished by putting eggs on the stove, checking on my pot which I'd paired sausage and bacon together simply to save from washing more dishes than I needed to. Dominic wasn't going to do it.
I dished the food onto two plates, Dominic still eyeing my every move and sat next to him on the second counter island. For some reason there was two islands in the house, one for practical purposes and the other - which was closer to the hallway - for sitting and eating. It even had a bar set-up, so thats where we sat. We ate and we finished.
Dominic kindly offered to clean up which I wasn't one to object a gentlemanly act such as that. I watched him put the dishes into the washer and return some utensils to their rightful places. He came back and sat down, now munching on an apple.
"What," I smirked, "Lost your phone?"
"No," he frowned. "I do not spend all my time on my phone."
"Hmm, really?" I stroked my chin playfully, "Sure seemed like it."
He glared at me momentarily. "On a different note," he swiftly changed the topic, "What would you like to do today?"
"Where is your phone?" I was genuinely curious, he hadn't been on the phone once.
"Fine," he got up abruptly, I watched with wide eyes, "You want my phone? Let me get it for you." He started walking out into the hall. I sure know how to push his buttons, I got up and began to follow while secretly smiling to myself. Edgy aren't we?
He opened the door to our room calmly - to my surprise - then walked over to the dresser and picked up his phone. I stood near the door. He held up the phone, walked right over and held it out for me to take.
"Okay Mr. 'Has Nothing To Hide'," I eyed his phone, "I didn't want your phone, although this was entertaining. I want to go swimming." I grinned. He looked as irritated as ever but soon got over it and tossed his phone on the bed.
"Sure," he sighed, "We can go swimming."
----------------------------------
After quickly finding some board shorts and thongs, I grabbed a towel and a white dress shirt to throw on later. I looked out the window and saw Amara was already outside then made my way down and found her lounging beside the pool. It didn't take long to spot her rubbing sunscreen onto her perfect legs then putting the bottle aside. She stopped to smile up at me. For someone as pale as she was, she seemed extremely content in her appearance wearing a white bikini and I wasn't going to lie to myself, she was pulling it off.

I snapped out of my daze and set my things down on the lounge next to hers. She got up and ran to the water yelling over her shoulder for me to hurry up. I shook off my thongs, then turned to Amara who was disappearing under the blue blanket of water. The backwash catching me off guard, what was it about this girl that made me lose my focus?
Before I took one step towards the water, she beat me to it once again and started emerging from the pure liquid. As she stepped out and slicked her hair over with hands, I nearly kissed her right then but self control was apparent as I restrained myself. She was smiling a she walked towards me — obviously having realised my struggle — I just stood and stared. This was my chance to take it all in.
Amara's usually pale blonde hair had darkened into a dirty blonde and was slicked back, her untouched face caressed by water dripping from her hairline right into her bikini top, which brought my attention to her chest. Her heavy breathing was drawing attention to her perfect breasts that complemented her hour-glass figure tremendously. Travelling my attention further down I noticed that a shiny stud stuck out from her belly button and that she was sporting a well sculpted stomach. I mentally caressed her body as my vision travelled past her prominent hips to her toned legs.
I hadn't realised she'd reached me until she'd placed her palm on my face after waving it in front of me for two minutes.
She chuckled, "Stop being stupid." She grabbed my hand and dragged me to the water.
We spent a good hour chasing, splashing and tickling each other before I decided to show her the cliff. We walked for a solid fifteen minutes before reaching a clearing surrounded by trees facing the entire beach, her eyes went wide with wonder and she gripped my hand tighter. The comfort she seemed to find with me made me feel accomplished, as if I was protecting her by just being there. I watched her as the sunset reflected on her perfect complexion and she stood looking effortlessly beautiful without any idea she was.
Dominic had suggested to go somewhere else and I hadn't hesitated to agree, it seemed as if anywhere he went I wanted to be there. As soon as we reached the place he'd had been explaining to me I stopped in my tracks, it was stunning. His description didn't do the place justice. He'd said, 'Its just like a clearing at the top of the hill, the sun is setting soon so I thought it would be cool.'
That can't be how he sees this place.
The grass beneath my feet was dry but still felt fresh, the air smelt of the woods — of course it also mixed with Dominic's attractive scent — a circle formed in the middle made up of logs and a fire pit sat in the middle but we chose to sit on the edge of the cliff instead. The sun sat straight ahead, half emerged above the water shining orange and yellow tones onto the dark blue of the still ocean. It was like looking at a painting, the perfect image of a sunset was live right in front of us. I couldn't imagine what it must be like looking at something this beautiful every night. Looking down at the ocean, there didn't seem to be any rocks and I wondered if it was safe to jump.
"You wanna jump?" Dominic suggested almost as if he could actually read my mind, I smiled then started frowning. "What?" he asked finally turning to look at me. He had been facing the front once again, not paying any attention to me like usual. "Seriously, what did I do?"
"You need to work on your manners, I'm serious. You should look at people when you talk to them." I said, purposely looking away. His hand reached out and clasped my chin between his thumb and forefinger then turned me to face him.
"I apologise, I'll try my best." his face brightened into a smile, I guess annoying me brings him some kind of joy. The smooth caress of his voice and grin on his face causing all kinds of magical things to bubble up in my stomach. God help me, he needs to stop that.
"Good." I managed to choke out, my voice cracking in the process. "Ah, how 'bout that jump?" I nodded towards the water, starting to get up. He got up and I kept my face out of his eye range, I felt the burning sensation on my cheeks and neck. I hate how much I blush and how prominent it is when I do.
Dominic grabbed my hand and swung it a while then looked over and smiled back at me. He pulled me towards him and embraced me, his arms around my middle whilst he straddled me from the back. "Ready?" his whisper floated in the air, his breath brushing past my ears and tickling my face. About the fourth time today he's breathed on me, I blew out a breath and nodded afraid to speak.
We awkwardly shuffled forward and bent our knees a chuckle sounding from deep inside Dominic's chest, it vibrated against my head. I felt small and feminine in-cased in his arms being at least one and a half heads shorter than him. I looked up and smiled at him, I kinda liked it. He winked down at me and surprised me as he pushed us off the edge and into the air. He twisted so I would be on top of him and laughed as I screamed gripping tighter around his toned torso.
I didn't feel too much impact from the submergence into the water, he'd been on the bottom so he took all the impact off me. I wasn't too good with water, a small fact I maybe shouldv'e mentioned earlier. Dominic let go of me and started sinking, I don't know what prompted me to do so but I began following after him. He opened his eyes then blew into my face which caused me to let all my air out. I kicked him in the stomach then started an unfortunately slow attempt of returning to the surface, he noticed my struggle then swam ahead of me and helped me up. As I reached the surface a big breath in and after calming down a little I slapped his shoulder — he flinched — mocking my attempt at inflicting him pain. "Such an idiot."
"Hey now, this is not my fault. I didn't think you'd follow me —"
"Yeah well I almost drowned!"
"I'm sorry." he said as his lips found place on my forehead. I tensed at this sudden act, how we'd led up to this I had no idea.
-----------------
"You ever had gelato?" Dominic was looking down at me.
"No sir." I mocked.
"Well," he brushed back his hair, "I'm hot so lets make some."
"Are you sure the both of us are going to make it?"
"Very funny. I can cook you know, I just didn't feel like it."
"Right."
We returned to the house and it was still as empty as ever, I was starting to feel weird. Dominic was treating me like - I don't know - some kind of treasure. I'm not going to lie, I enjoy it but... It doesn't feel... What am I saying? I'm the one that asked we do 'normal married couple stuff' and so we should do 'normal fiance, fiancee stuff' too.
"Right," Dominic let out as he placed a small lime green machine on the counter, we were both still in our swimmers and slowly drying. "This will help us make gelato. Most of it is handiwork though."
I snorted, "Handiwork."
He glanced over but ignored me. Then he started pulling out a bunch of things, "Come here, I'll show you how."
"Okay." I shook as I got off the counter, this could get weird.
-----------------------
"This is amazing!" I marvelled
"That's gelato for ya." he casually replied whilst taking another spoonful.
"We should make more." I whispered. He chuckled.
"How about we make something different."
"Biscuits." I turned to him with wide eyes.
"Hmm," he pretended to think, "Macarons?"
"Yes!"
"You're way too excited about this," he smiled.
"It's food. I love food."
"Me too."
----------------------
I groaned, "I'm full."
"Maybe because you ate over half of them by yourself?" he said over his shoulder as he put the baking tray away.
"That has nothing to do with it." I frowned.
"You look pregnant." he was now turned around leaning on the counter, smirking his ass off.
I knew I was blushing, "Shut up. Its called bloating."
"I know," he laughed, "I didn't say you were pregnant."
I blushed even worse, my face was literally burning.
"How about," he sang running around the counter, "We," he picked me up and put me down on the floor, "Watch a movie?"
"Running out of ideas?"
"No," he snorted, "Movies are great."
"Classic. Okay." I eyed him. I'm really hoping this bloating goes down quick, I do not want anymore pregnant jokes. Takes me down a path I don't want to think about.
This movie was a classic but she was already asleep, you know I'm starting to think she's some kind of pet. Eat, sleep, repeat. You have to force her to do activities. I got up, went to the linen cupboard and retrieved a fluffy blanket. She was still wearing my shirt from the pool, now completely dry I figured it was safe to cover her up. I went into the extra effort of tucking the blanket behind her shoulders and arms, so it wouldn't fall of if she were to move.
I finished the entire movie by myself, she was now somehow on my lap. I switched off the t.v then sat back looking at the ceiling and practising my bad habit of holding my nose again. I closed my eyes, I didn't see it coming so I was startled when Amara hit my hand from my face.
"You shouldn't do that."
"You're too demanding." I monotoned.
"Whatever," she sat up, "Let's play a game."
"What? Not tired?" I smirked.
"I just wanted to play a small game of 'would you rather'."
"You're on." I sat up straight, eyeing her.
"Okay me first," she shuffled, I shook my head, "Would you rather..."
"Would you rather have a Lamborghini in your garage or a bookcase with 9000 books and infinite knowledge?"
"Infinite knowledge." he didn't even think, "Lamborghinis can be bought after the mountain of money I make being a genius."
"Clever." I commended him.
He looked me right in the eye, "Would you rather pay for sex, or get paid for sex?"
I frowned, classic. "Get paid for it."
"Oh." he raised his brows, a smile creeping to his face.
"Mhm." I nodded, "Would you rather be poor and good looking or wealthy and ugly?"
"Well," he sang, "I'm good looking and wealthy so I don't know how this question..."
"Just," I slapped his arm, "Whatever."
"Would you rather," he started, "lose your sense of touch or your sense of smell?"
"Sense of smell."
"Really?" he said in a fake British accent.
"Really." I chuckled.
His face went serious, "I think its time for bed."
"But I just woke up!" I gasped as he picked me up bridal style then began carrying me out of the room, I stopped being tense and just lay limp with my head bobbing over his arm.
"Its my turn." he replied.
"Fine."
"But you have to promise." he continued.
"Promise what?" I let my eyes close heightening my senses, I could smell his scent and hear his breath and feel each step he took.
"You'll stay and cuddle."
"You're weird." I was blushing and frowning, I definitely didn't want to open my eyes to see him witnessing it.
"Maybe I am." he said matter-of-factly.
