《Just Another Bad Boy》13. Calm yourself

I hadn't talked to Caitlynn since our fight at Anna's. I've been spending most of my free time with Trevor and Zach.

"Hey Ella." Trevor walked up to me.

"Hey." I flashed him a quick smile before I went back to trying to find my math book in my locker.

"Did you hear Zach is starting in today's game even though he missed yesterday's practice?" I heard a boy say behind me.

"Yeah it's fucking ridiculous, I don't understand why he's still on the team." I knew that voice.

Tyler.

Of course.

I looked over at Trevor to see him staring at the two jocks talking at the opposite side of the hall. I could see him starting to get angry. I knew how much he hated when anyone said anything about someone he cared about.

"He's not even that good." The other guy agreed.

"Coach shouldn't be giving him special treatment so he can deal with his psycho mother."

Before I could even say anything Trevor pushes himself off of the lockers and walked straight up to Tyler.

"You want to say that again?" Trevor grabbed Tyler's collar and shoved him against the wall behind him.

"Chill man." Tyler tried to get Trevor to back down.

"You're a piece of shit." Trevor punched Tyler right in the face.

"Trevor," I ran up behind him and tried to pull him away.

I was no use. Trevor was stronger than me and easily shrugged me off.

"Is that all you got Walker?" Tyler taunted.

"I wouldn't mess with me." He threatened.

"I don't know why you even bother defending that piece of trash you call a friend." Tyler spat.

Trevor lost control and started throwing punches at Tyler's face.

Tyler was able to wiggle free of Trevor grasp and started to throw punches back towards Trevor.

I didn't know what to do.

"Trevor." I called out to him.

"Trevor stop."

He didn't even acknowledge my calls to him. He kept his focus on Tyler. This was hopeless.

"Zach!" I yelled when I say the familiar boy walking down the hall.

When he saw me and then the scene in front of me he sped up and ran towards me.

"Shit." He muttered when he saw Trevor throw another punch.

"What are you doing just standing here? Break it up." I yelled at him.

He quickly went into action and pushed Trevor back creating some distance between the two boys.

"You good?" Zach asked Trevor.

Trevor didn't answer him he was just shooting Tyler a death glare.

Zach continued to push Trevor back. He knew he wouldn't calm down until Tyler was out of sight.

"Trev you need to calm yourself."

"I'm calm." He shook Zach off him.

"You're parents are going to throw a fit when they get the call you started another fight."

"It was worth it." Trevor had that same hard and closed off expression on his face.

"You going to tell me what that was about?" Zach asked.

"It doesn't matter." Trevor turned and stormed off down the hall.

"Is he going to be fine?" I asked Zach.

"Yeah he just needs to cool down. Trevor has got a bad temper and when he gets mad it's hard for him to calm down."

I'd be lying if seeing this side of Trevor didn't freak me out. The look in his eyes was cold and I didn't like it.

"Do you think he'll get suspended?" I asked Zach.

"Probably, what set him off?"

I didn't know if I wanted to tell Zach but he was Trevor's best friend and he should know.

"They were talking about you and Trevor just exploded."

"It's not the first time. I tell him I don't care what they say about me but Trevor never listens. He needs to learn to let shit go."

"He does it because he cares about you."

"Yeah I just don't want him to get in trouble because of me."

"For him, you're worth getting in trouble for."

"Don't let this side of him scare you away, you're good for him Ella." Zach told me.

"How am I supposed to react to this?"

I honestly felt confused. I didn't like seeing him like this but I knew if I wanted to be with him I had to accept every side of him.

"Just talk to him." He advised.

I nodded.

I needed to have a talk with him. There was so much he didn't know about me and I knew there were probably plenty of things I didn't know about him.

Trevor didn't show up to history. I wanted to talk to him but I haven't seen him since he stormed off.

I was worried about him. I hoped he was ok, I knew Zach said he'd be fine and he just needed to cool off I hadn't expected him to disappear like this.

"Do you know where Trevor is?" I asked Zach at the end of the day.

"He got suspended." Zach told me.

"For how long?"

"A week."

I stood there shocked. A week without Trevor in school? This was going to be one long week.

"Are you coming to watch my game?" Zach asked.

I hesitated. I really didn't want to go but I knew it would mean a lot to Zach if I went and supported him.

"Of course." I agreed.

"I'll try and see if I can convince Trevor to go but I don't know if that will be the best idea, considering who is on the team." Zach explained.

I nodded. As much as I wanted to spend time with Trevor I knew that it was probably better if he kept his distance from Tyler for awhile.

"Well I got to run home to check on my mom real quick before warm ups start." Zach said and rushed off.

I didn't know the whole situation with his mom but I just wished that Zach had an easier life. He was one of the best people I know and he didn't deserve to deal with this.

I made my way to my own car. I figured I would grab some food before coming back to watch the game.
