《Just Another Bad Boy》1. Finding a nice guy

Kyle was different, I told myself. He loved me. I knew I was wrong yet again. If he actually loved me he wouldn't be making out with Vanessa right in front of me.

"Are you ok?" My best friend Caitlynn asked me.

"Yeah I just thought he was different." I sighed.

"You need to find a good guy, someone who will treat you well." She gave me a look.

"I know but I don't some boring nice guy."

"I know you love a challenge someone that makes you work for it. Just because he's a nice guy doesn't mean he's boring." She argued.

"I'll find a nice guy." I shrugged.

"You should." She looked over at the bar to see her boyfriend laughing with his friends.

Caitlynn had found a good guy. He played baseball and did well in school. He never got into trouble and he loved her more than anything. It was kind of sick.

"You can go hang out with Tyler if you really want to." I gestured to the boy who was now looking over at us.

"I want to hang out with you." She said.

"I'm fine Caitlynn you don't need to treat me like I'm fragile. I've been through this before." I reminded her.

"I'll meet back up with you later ok?" She gave me a look.

A nodded and made my way through the crowds. I needed some air, the further I got from Kyle the better.

I stepped out on to the front lawn and it was like a could breathe again.

"The front yard's taken." A voice said beside me.

I looked to see none other than Trevor Walker. It wasn't a surprise he was here. He wasn't a bad boy but he sure knew how to cause some trouble.

"It's a big yard I think you can share." I shot him a look.

"Feisty." He chuckled.

"I don't back down from a fight." I shrugged.

He smiled and went back to looking at the night sky.

"What are you looking at?" I asked staring at the darkness.

"The universe." He said and didn't elaborate.

"Oh." I tried to understand but it just looked like the sky.

"It was nice talking to you Bella." He said looking at me.

"It's Ella." I glared.

"Same thing." He shrugged and walked back into the house.

After a while I decided to head back inside as well and was almost immediately attacked by my best friend.

"Where have you been?" She yelled.

"Outside." I answered.

"Ok well Tyler said that he would hook you up with someone on the baseball team." She smiled.

"Caitlynn I really don't thinks that's necessary." I shook my head.

"Come on you need to just find someone new." She argued.

I figured she wouldn't remember any of this tomorrow so I nodded.

"So you'll go out with Tyler's friend?" She cheered.

"Sure why not?" What was the worst that could happen?

"Yay! You need someone better than that jerk Kyle. I told you he was no good but you didn't listen." My best friend shook her head.

"I know, I'll listen to you more." At this point I was just telling her what she wanted to hear. There was no use in arguing with her while she was drunk.

I woke up to my phone going off. Who was bothering me at this hour?

I groaned when I saw it was Caitlynn. What did she want?

"Hello?" I answered.

"I hate my life." She groaned.

"Why?" I asked.

"So do you remember me asking you if I could set up a date for you and Tyler's friend?" She rushed out.

"Umm yeah why?"

I had been really hoping she'd forget.

"Well apparently I set up a date for you and him for next Friday. I'm so sorry Ella I really didn't mean to do that."

"It's fine." I assured her.

It was definitely not fine. What had I gotten myself into?

"I really thought you'd hate me forever." She rambled.

"So who is this mystery guy?" I asked her.

"Tyler's Friend, Zach."

"Zach Conners?" I asked.

"Yeah." She said cheerfully.

Great, kill me now. Zach was nice enough but I definitely wasn't interested in him like that.

"I know he's not your type but give him a chance." Caitlynn pleaded.

"What is my type?" I raised my eyebrows even though she couldn't see me.

"You like jerks." I could just see her rolling her eyes in this very moment.

"I don't have a thing for jerks." I said defensively.

It was true, just because my last two boyfriends had been complete asses doesn't mean that's my type.

"Whatever you say." She laughed.

"I got to go." I said and we said our final goodbyes before hanging up the phone.

I snuck out onto the roof once the sun set and just looked out into the night. I let my thoughts go back to the party. I looked into the darkness, I wanted to see what Trevor saw. How can you look up and just see the universe, all I saw was darkness.

Why was I thinking about Trevor Walker? I had no clue. He definitely wasn't my type. He was trouble but not in the same way Kyle was.

Kyle skipped classes and slept around. He didn't care about anything other than himself. Trevor wasn't like that, he joked around but he was loyal. I never saw him with any girls and he would do anything for his friends. I once saw him start a fight because someone looked at one of his friends the wrong way. He got into fights and most of the teachers didn't like him but he cared about others more than himself.

I could almost hear Caitlynn telling me I was being creepy again. It wasn't my fault I had always been nosey. I paid attention to people and she always said I was acting like a creepy stalker. I promise I'm just a girl that happens to be observant.
