《Baking With Boys |✔》6. Orange Crush

The bed groaned and creaked, adjusting to the new weight added to it. I felt someone shift beside me, pulling on my blanket and making enough space for two under it. In a haze, I shuffled back, only to come in contact with the other body pressed up behind me. I frowned, confused, and disoriented as to why someone would be there in my bed.

Before I could delve into it further, that perplexing emotion disappeared as the body next to me shifted even closer to me.

"Mmm..." A moan left my mouth as my body relaxed against the body behind me. Seeking more warmth, I nuzzled closer, my back pressing into the body. I gasped, as a wary hand roamed up my torso, enticing my skin, leaving a trail of goosebumps behind.

The hand paused its exploration, stopping below my stomach and slowly making its way under my top. My breath hitched in my throat, and I bit my lips as the hand lifted my top up, inch by inch. The moment the cold palm made contact with my feverish skin it sent shivers down my body.

Scooting back, even more, I let the soft curve of my body spoon into the large and hard one. Hot breath fanned my neck with the increased proximity, and I let out a whimper, earning a low growl in return. I twisted my body, squirming, and writhing against the explorative hand. My impatience instead of getting a heated response, made the hand stop its inspection, resting snugly below my breasts.

I whined, irritated at the torturous pace. It was as if the pleasure was just out of my reach, laughing at me, daring me to catch it. Another whine and the hand pressed down on my top, clutching it and bunching up to expose the skin to cool night air. It was still too slow for me, and I expressed it with another frustrated growl.

A pair of lips touched my ear, their movement tickling it, and raise my shoulders. He chuckled in a throaty voice, doubling my heart rate, and quickening my breath.

Curious to see the person driving me mad with his foreplay, I twisted in my position. The blanket bunched around my legs at the motion, twining itself with my legs. I turned fully, my head resting against the forehead of the person, or breaths the only distance between us.

I opened my eyes. The light was dim in the bedroom but my eyesight quickly adjusted to it, seeking out the face of the person in front of me.

It was Liam.

The sudden revelation made me freeze over in shock. But that didn't last long as the beautiful face in front of me melted away any hesitance. His eyes were close, a small smile playing on his lips like he was in a beautiful dream. Unable to help myself, I giggled at his cuteness, taking my hand to his face and letting it trail down his cheek.

His breath hitched at the contact of my hands, and he grabbed it, placing the open palm on his lips. Kissing it. I shivered, a hot undercurrent going through my body. Next, he took my hand and placed it on his bare chest, the beat of his thumping heart strong and clear. Ironically, it matched mine perfectly. The temperature notched up even higher as I looked at his face. Sensing me staring at me, he opened his eyes, and I saw an eccentric and wild green color.

I frowned, confused. Liam had blue eyes, like the sea, calm and serene. But these were ferocious and wild like a rainforest. Trapping me in the depths of them.

With a startling thought I realised, they looked eerily like Brandon's eyes.

The thought broke the spell. My mouth opened in astonishment as the face in front of me transformed into Brandon's. Instead of the beautiful smile that had been playing on Liam's lips, it was now the slight mischievous shift of Brandon's lips. He laced his hands around my waist, pulling me in sharply, and I gasped. He combed my hair back from my face, touching it tenderly, unlike the brutal force he had used on my waist.

Our bodies pressed together, and my feet entangled with his, the blanket around us pulling us tighter and closer. A fire within me ignited, removing the cool calm I had before.

I stared into his eyes. They no more twinkled with mischief but held a different emotion altogether. He leaned in closer, the small space between us filled only with our breaths.

A sharp pang on my arm distracted me but his eyes demanded my attention. He came in even closer, his lips touching my ear.

"... me," he whispered.

"Hmm?"

"Stop.." I heard again.

And again. "Stop it!"

Stop, what?

"Stop choking me!"

A strangled shout made me immediately snatch my hand away from whatever I was holding. Confused, disoriented, and my heart exploding out of my chest, I sat up and took in sharp breaths. My heart threatened to explode and I clutched it, trying to make sense of the situation and calm myself.

A movement and a shot of blond hair caught my eye. Before a scream could tore through my mouth, I made the wise decision to look down and noticed the familiar face writhing on my bed.

Seth.

He was coughing, and holding his neck, trying to take in deep breaths but failing miserably. A new panic filled me when I realized what was happening. Seth was on my bed.

On my bed.

"What the hell are you doing here?" I screamed, pulling the blanket from beneath him and covering myself with it.

Seth continued to cough, holding up a finger asking me to wait. He straightened, sitting on the bed. He muttered, "What do you mean? I was here with you all night."

My head swam at his words.

Removing his hand from his neck, he tried to move the neck around. "You have a death grip, girl. I thought I would die today."

He stood up, attracting my attention that he was only in his boxers. Shaking my head, I choked out the question. "You were here the whole night?"

Was I sleeping like the dead that I didn't notice a six-foot-long guy sleeping next to me?

"Yeah." He nodded. Before I could ask, he explained, "Leo kicked me out when I accidentally hugged him in his sleep again. He hates hugs, but on the contrary, you love them!"

He grinned, but my head spun. Did he just tell me that I slept the whole night hugging him? I couldn't choose between being scared out of my pants, getting angry, or embarrassed.

I chose the mixture.

"Oh my god! Shit, shit, shit." I stood up on the bed, freaking out. Though I was in flimsy shorts and a tank top, after spending the whole night with Seth, it wasn't the bigger of my worries. "Listen. My mom can never ever find this out, okay?"

Seth frowned.

"Okay?" I emphasized again.

He nodded.

I sighed, covering my face with my hands. "And God, I will have to invest in on a lock!"

"Oh. You hate me too, don't you?" Seth pouted and I rolled my eyes. He began to walk away when I grabbed his hand.

"Hey! I didn't say I hate you." He looked back at me, brightening up. Gosh, I couldn't even say no to that innocent look. "Just don't do this ever again, okay?"

A dazzling smile and an okay sign, and then he dropped down to kiss me on the cheek. I sat still on my bed. Whoa.

With a cheery skip, he said, "Okay!" and out he went.

Out of my short daze, I shouted to remind him about the promise. "And don't forget to keep it from mom!"

"Keep what?" A new voice came and my heart dropped in the chest thinking it was in fact my mother. But the voice was obviously male, so when Liam peeked in and knocked on the room, I remembered my flimsy state and went right back in the bed.

"Umm.." I stalled, looking at his freshly showered hair and low waist jeans (it's hard to not notice such things, okay?)

"Are you okay?"

"Yes!" I said too loudly and then tried to laugh it out. "Don't worry."

He frowned but didn't question further. "Okay, I'll be heading out to the pool then. Tell Leo and Seth to hurry up, okay?"

"Sure!" I waved goodbye and as soon as he was out the door, ran into the bathroom before someone else caught me in this state.

Throughout the shower, my mind kept going back to the dream I had. I looked at my reflection blush every time I realized that what I had been going to do with Brandon hadn't Seth woke me up.

Was this really the time to be raging with female hormones?

Picking out a floral dress with small straps and a pair of brown leather sandals, I skipped downstairs, a single thought persistent in my head.

Finally, I can cook.

"What are you doing here?" I stopped short and looked at Brandon, wearing a shirt for a change. Though that didn't deter my imagination to cook up the dream again and conjure it in my head. Clearing my throat, I looked away from him. This was the only way out of it for now.

"Nothing," he replied monotonically. My eyes went straight to his bandaged foot, reminding me of his injury, and I bit my lip. Thrashing away those thoughts, for now, I got an idea.

I grabbed his hand, but he protested. "Come with me."

He didn't budge.

"Just follow," I demanded, and he looked at me skeptically before half hopping and half dragging himself behind me.

I opened the door adjoining our kitchen to that of our bakery and stepped inside. The sweet scent hit me instantly, and my mouth watered. I called out, "Mom! Do you mind if I try out new recipes today?"

She was bent over the oven, taking out a batch of hot cookies from it. Standing up, she smiled. "Of course not! You know I love watching you cook, Ty."

I turned to grin at Brandon and caught him practically drooling as his eyes followed the tray. Getting an idea, I said, "But first, can Brandon and I have breakfast?"

After eating two people's worth of cookies each and a glass of honey flavoured milk, I stared at Brandon. His expression resonated to someone who had discovered heaven on earth.

"Brandon? You can stop licking your fingers, you know?" I giggled and he snapped his eyes back to me.

"Uh, yeah. Sure." He cleared his throat and I giggled again.

"Come on now, take this stool. Here." I helped him on a stool next to the counter and took out two aprons. Putting the neck side in, I turned back towards Brandon.

"What?" he grumbled.

"Close it for me?" I felt his fingers pick up the sides and then tie it together. "Thanks."

With a smile, I returned the favor, successfully making him wear an apron.

"Now, let's start." I took out the flour, eggs, sugar, a few oranges, biscuits, butter, and all the rest of the stuff. My mom sat outside at the cash counter, at the little cafe that we had, so I had plenty of room to do my own cooking.

I started singing along as I mixed the ingredients carefully, making sure to not leave any lump in between.

Besides me, I heard Brandon laugh. "What the hell are you singing?"

I bit my lip, having totally forgotten that Brandon was watching me. "Oh, just my version of the rhyme."

"Say it again?" he asked.

With a sheepish expression, I did.

"Twinkle twinkle little star,

Wanna hit you with a car.

Drop you from a tree so high,

Hope you break your neck and die."

"That's genius!" He laughed harder, making me grin. His eyes crinkled and his dimple formed, leaving me watching him like a starved maniac.

Before the situation got out of hand, I caught myself and suppressed the bubbling feel I felt inside. I cleared my throat and went back to my cooking. At last, I poured the batter into the baking tray and then straight into the preheated oven.

I turned to see Brandon looking at his feet and sighing.

Approaching carefully, I tried to console. "Hey. Don't worry, I am sure you would be able to participate. I'll cheer for you!"

He smiled weakly in return, and I willed myself not to pity him.

"Seth was with you last night?" Brandon asked, and I immediately went on high alert. Good way to change the subject, huh?

I placed a finger on his lips and shook my head animatedly. "Shhh. Mom's outside."

"So it's true," Brandon said, his eyebrows raised.

"I didn't say that," I countered, feeling pressurized as he stared at me with those green eyes, just as he had in my dream.

Ugh, I am not thinking of that ever again!

"What are you thinking?" he said, trapping me between his body and the counter with his hand. For a fact, he was still sitting on his stool. It would have been very easy for me to get away, but one, his eyes bored into mine, and two, I didn't really want to escape.

He raised his eyebrows, unsure, but kept coming in close, as if testing the waters. An inch away from my face, he whispered, "Take it out."

I gulped, my eyes wide. "O-Out?"

"Yes."

Heat crept up my neck, and I almost thought of hitting him and putting some sense into his mind, when he said, "The cake. Take it out."

"What?" I squealed.

He chuckled, those eyes seeing straight through me and my perverted mind.

Looking away, I shouted, "Right!" The dinger had gone off, and I hurried to take out the cake from the oven. As soon as it was out, the room filled with the scent of oranges and coffee.

"What's that?" Brandon stood up, coming over haphazardly.

"A new recipe! I mixed coffee and orange zest to make the cake." I replied, earlier trauma forgotten. If the scent was any indication, it was going to taste heavenly.

"It smells..." he trailed off, inhaling a deep breath again.

He didn't get to complete his sentence. My mother barged in just then, and I skipped over to her, showing her the cake. Even before cooling it or icing it, she took a bite out and groaned in pleasure. "That's out of the world, Ty!"

"Really?"

"Yes!" She hugged me and I grinned at her, my heart surging with joy. This was what spring break should have been about.

"Thanks, mom! Do you think we can give them out as samples? Maybe it'll work?"

"Great idea!" She clapped my shoulder, already walking away. "Call me when you are finished, and I'll have it on display."

I set the tray on the counter and Brandon hopped over, blinking his eyes for a piece of the cake. I rolled my eyes and cut a slice out. He opened his mouth, asking me to put the slice in. I bit my lip, hesitant, but seeing no harm in it.

He winked at me as soon as the cake was in his mouth, giving me a lopsided smile of his. The door opened again, and we both immediately flew apart, straightening up.

"Mom, do you need something?" I turned around hesitantly, but gasped when I saw Francis standing there.

"Francis! You are back?" I asked, shocked to the core. Was I dreaming? I pinched myself, I was definitely awake. It had already been more than a year since we had broken up. There was no way he could be back.

He stepped forward, took my hand, and then grinned."Oui, love. I am back."

Sweet Lord.
