"So you don't have any awareness when Moon is active?"
Sunny nods, sitting with his legs crossed as he bends over a piece of paper, crayons in hand.
"That's hardly fair," You complain, watching as something with a tiny resembleance to a butterfly begins taking shape from under Sunny's blue crayon. He isn't a bad artist, he's just very... abstract.
"Moon thinks it's hardly fair that he's dormant all of the time," Sunny grumbles, solidifying the shape of the butterfly. Though it looks more like a piece of toast now.
"I still don't understand," You murmur, checking your watch to learn that it's now been an hour since the daycare shut and the kids went home. "Why is he always aware of what you see, but it's all hazy for you when he's the one in control?"
Sunny offers a lazy shrug, finding a yellow crayon. "After all the time he has to spend in our head, his conscience must've found a hack or glitch to get around it the mind-fog," -You smile as the name he gives it- "I really don't know or understand how Moon works." Your smile drops as you shiver
"So he's... watching now?" Sunny pauses for a moment at the question, then looks up at you.
"It's possible, but more often than not he's deactivated, submitting to what I usually see." He taps his crayon on his chin, then continues, "He says it drains his energy quicker than it does being the active one in the body. He won't tell me how he does it, though."
You think about this, then something strange occurs to you. "He told you this? But only one of you is ever out at a time, how?" You lean forward on your elbows suddenly, smiling. "Do you leave him notes?"
Sunny stiffens, his grip on the crayon tightening until you hear a slight crack and Sunny looks down, horrified yet slightly astonished. "Well," He chitters on nervously, "He has a way to... talk to me."
You grab his shoulders suddenly, an he nearly jumps a foot into the air. "What? How?" You demand, beginning to shake him back and forth, different crazy theories running through your mind.
"It's nothing special," Sunny says slowly, "He can just talk in my mind. It's really weird." You sink back, deflated. A bit disappointing, but probably makes more sense than half of the ideas you'd just come up with in a matter of moments.
"Anyways," Sunny continues, finally returning to his drawing, "He doesn't do it often. It also sucks up a bunch of power, and it gives me headaches." Sunny rubs his head absently. "Even though he doesn't have a physical head when he's... like that... I'd bet it gives him headaches too. Perks of sharing a body... aha."
You scratch your neck, thinking. "So... is he an alter ego of yours?" Sunny shakes his head at this, back to giving his toast-butterfly sunglasses.

"A brother?"
Sunny shakes his head again. "It honestly just feels like being crammed into a body with a stranger... though I don't suppose you'd actually know what that's like. I only know what he's told me about him, which is basically just a whole monologue about how hard it is being trapped all of the time." He pulls a green crayon out and begins drawing spikey grass. "I only even know what he looks like based on posters of him, and that golden statue up front."
You nod slowly, thoughts drifting away. You've been questioning Sunny for nearly an hour now, asking about all sorts of things. You can tell he's exhausted, so you figure you'll let him be for a while. You stand, deciding to explore a bit and give him a break. With a wave you exit the daycare.
-------------------------------------------------------
After avoiding many security bots, you find yourself in yet another long, dark hallway. Unfortunantely the security bots don't seem to recognize you as a worker here, and after learning that the hard way, you had run as fast as you could for a somewhat deserted area. 'How big is this place anyways?'', you had wondered in bare awe.
It had been a few hours of wandering before you found yourself nearing the daycare again, wanting to check on Sunny. You hesitate, your step faltering as you notice the lights are off. Either there was another Gregory on the loose, or it was one of those things programmed to happen at night to conserve power or whatever. Hopefully just the latter.
You decide to take a small detour until the light returns, going down a wide hallway that is thankfully void of bots. The hallway seems to strech quite a ways ahead of you, and when you finally near the halfway point, a revolting, eerie cackle echoes off of the walls you've long since passed. You don't need to try and guess who it is.
Not even worrying about sparing a glance back, you make a mad dash forward, running for the end of the hall that seems to bend at an odd curve. You begin picking up the sounds of clanking, metal footsteps falling behind you, slowly getting louder. Stupid robot man and his stupid speedy legs.
You finally reach the end of the hallway, a large poster hanging on the wall, and- ah! Stairs plunging down to the left of them! But also... your face falls and a hiccup enters your angry sprint. Another security bot. This one is dallying around in lazy circles like you often would do as a kid, trying to see how dizzy you'd get.
You sneak around the side opposite to the stairs, where the bot seems to be showing less interest in, pressed in so close against the wall you think you might break a hole in it. You try not to listen to Moon's advancing footsteps as you slide past the corner, now on the wall with the massive movie poster.

You're finally only a few feet from the stairs, when the robot whirls toward you in a maddening change of pattern. You gasp and flatten like a pancake against the wall- not like you could get much flatter- and you feel a soft click behind you. The security bot spins away like it's on robo-crack, and your head twists toward the almost-silent noise you'd heard. The poster is swinging open. Without a creak, it- wait, what?
You stare in disbelief as the poster opens to a thin hallway. Whatever Harry Potter shit this was, you were thanking the fate-gods as you slipped through the door, pulling it closed as quietly as it opened.
You nearly let out a demonic giggle as you step past the threshhold- that moon-faced bastard will never find you here- though you're cut short at the sight inside.
You find you're standing inside of a small room with scuffed, red walls and all sorts of things scattered about. Plushies of some of the animatronics lay lifeless on the ground, various children's toys sit at random intervals, and even- a security bot? No, no, there's two security bots, slightly dismantled, one even completely missing its head. What the hell?
You notice a small blue tunnel in the wall directly to your right, grimy and seemingly leading somewhere. You're about to enter it when your eyes catch onto a small platform, secured by a railing and easily accessible by a ladder, sitting snugly against a wall and viciously tempting you. There seems to be an opening beyond it, but it's all dark- what could it be? With an air of curiosity, you make your way over to it.
The ladder groans as your climb up it's metal bars, and one step even wobbles and nearly sends you toppling, though your hand flies up and depserately swipes at the platform above just in time. You finally pull yourself up, maintaing your balance and then stepping over to the gap; it's a balcony, you realize.
The balcony in the daycare.
The breath leaves your lungs for a second as you realize how high up you are, and you stare with trembling eyes at the rainbow ballpit below, edging as close to the ledge as you dare. Admittedly, that's not very close.
You always figured the entrance might be inside the daycare itself, considering how quickly Sunny seems to get himself up here when he's trying to put on shows to please the children, though perhaps there's a second door leading into that room that was concealed by the tunnel.
Your thoughts abandon you for a fleeting moment as something tangles itself around your torso, lurching you forward in a quickening haze. You stumble a few steps, your feet following the direction of your body before you can plant yourself on the edge, digging your heels in as the tips of your shoes find no ground under them for support.
You try to lean back, to scramble for the entrance- you should've taken the tunnel instead, GOD, why didn't you take the tunnel?- when your back meets cool metal. That. BITCH.
A threatening giggle passes your ears as a hand traces small cricles on your stomach. You shudder, out of fear and absolutely nothing else. Absolutely.
"Sorry to catch you in a moment," He purrs, releasing his hands from their short-lived, hypnotic movement, swiftly slinging one arm over each of your shoulders so they're extended forward with his stupid children-grabbers dangling over the billions of miles of air below. His head seems to find its own spot in the crook of your neck. "Heard someone breaking into my room," He mumurs in a low whisper, "Now why would you be in there?"
"I'm sorry, your-?" You cut yourself off as his words suddenly make sense. 'It's attatched to the balcony Sunny's always jumping off, of course he lives here. And given they're deadass sharing a body, of course they'd share a room. Why the hell did I think he wouldn't find me here?! GODDAMMNIT, I'M GOING TO DIE ON THE ONE JOB THAT ACCEPTED ME.'
You trying to shove against Moon in attempt to oppose his hold on you, but he only lets out a teasing chuckle, leaning forward while keeping his feet firmly where they are. You let out a scream and- though you hate giving him the satisfaction of doing so- grab onto his arms so you don't fall as you're pushed forward by his body. His face only nuzzles closer as your feet desperately press themselves to the ledge, your body at an angle as he leans forward inch by inch. MotherFUCKER AND HIS STICKY ASS FEET.
"I believe you owe someone a pinky promise." He titters, stretching his hands casually in front of you as if you aren't a slip away from falling into a deathpit.
"Yeah," You scoff, "Not you, Sunny."
A mouth presses against your ear as his arms withdraw to hold your shoulders. "Not Sunny, us."
With a harsh shove you're thrown forward, the ballpit rushing towards you as you flail in the air.
You flip over in the maddening fall, and the last thing you see before you land in the pit in Moon's smiling face mocking you as he floats inches away from the balcony.
So the bitch can fly.
