《Sundrop/moondrop x reader》it's a new day

A/N i hope you guys like the story so far! i've got a pretty good idea of where i want this story to go but it will take me a bit on updates, you won't have to wait for too long :) also i might just write in 3rd person that's a lot easier
Moon looked down at (y/n), a little surprised by the hug. he took a moment before hugging them back, bending down slightly since they were a lot shorter than him. (y/n) went to pull away but moon didn't let go, they tapped his arm slightly but he still didn't move. "moon? are you okay..?" (y/n) said in a somewhat timid but more concerned voice. he mumbled, moon said as (y/n) felt him lean on them slightly. "Wooah there big guy-" (y/n) said, being cut off by moon pulling them onto the floor. Moon leaned against the wall, holding (y/n) like a small stuffed animal. (Y/n) didn't resist moons cuddling since they thought he might attack them or get upset and plus, getting to cuddle moon wasn't that bad right? He seemed comforting enough even if he rarely spoke.
(Y/n) and moon sat in that position for a while. (Y/n) was leaning against moon, their back was against his chest in an upright position as moon was still leaning against the wall. Moon had his face in (y/n)'s shoulder as (y/n) stared at the ceiling. All the lights on the ceiling were so colorful and they couldn't help but stare at the colors as they thought about their situation. (Y/n) was currently sitting on the floor, basically being treated as a big stuffed animal by an animatronic who was probably powered off. Did they mind? No not at all in fact it made them happy, they were somewhat at peace. (Y/n) relaxed their shoulders into moon, closing their eyes slowly. Falling asleep here wouldn't be bad right..?

When (y/n) woke up it took them a minute to adjust to where they were. When they sat up they were in a place they didn't recognize. They were on what seemed to be a large beanbag like bed, there were many sun and moon themed blankets scattered on the beanbag as well as pillows. The room itself seemed to be centered around the sun and moon as well, of course, the room had a dome shape to it, little lights shaped like stars were hanging from the ceiling as well as a bunch of stars directly on the ceiling that illuminated the area with different colored lights. There was a large bookshelf with a chair and lamp next to it, a bunch of drawings all over the walls, stuffed animals and many other things that all fit sun and moons personality.
After a moment of looking around they finally realized that neither sun nor moon were anywhere to be seen. (Y/n) slowly stood up, walking to the opening of the room and quickly discovering that sundrops room was connected to the balcony. You scan the area for sundrop when you notice the door of the daycare open and sun walked in. That door was only used as an exit but sun seemed too tired to care. He walked in a not-so-sundrop fashion as he started cleaning up the place. You wondered what was wrong but more importantly what time was it?! You thought as you ran to check your phone.
The clock read "4:30am", 'thank god' you thought as you turned back to the balcony. Sun was still down in the play area, he was continuing to clean as you shouted down at him. "Hey sunny!" You smiled and waved. Sundrop's expression changed almost instantly from a sad one to a more excited one as he jumped up and down, waving back and shouting something about being happy you were awake before making a mad dash to the balcony. Not a second passed before sundrop was up on the balcony with you. "DID YOU HAVE A GOOD SLEEP (Y/N)?? DID YOU!!? DID YOU DID YOU!!??"

You smiled as you gently patted the sun's head. "Of course i did sun, where were you?" Your curiosity started to peak as you thought about the way sundrop had entered the daycare. You haven't known him long, hell you were only there for less than a day but you felt like you knew sundrop, maybe not moon but sun was easy to read. He was like an excited child and obviously has been this way for years and seeing him walk in so upset didn't seem right, even if he was putting on a happy front for you. After sundrop heard your question his excitement started to falter.
"W-Well uh-" the animatronic scratched the back of his head. "You see sunshine i was just..checking to see if the doors were open!! I-In case you wanted to leave.." he was a bad liar. You gave him a 'i know you're bullshitting me' look before noticing he was hiding one of his hands. In fact he had been hiding it this whole time ever since he walked in. Sun was getting nervous as you stood there lost in though. "(Y/n)?? A-Are you alright..?" He said as you snapped back to reality. You chose not to speak, instead you grabbed his wrist, the one he was trying to hide, and pulled his hand towards you.
"(Y-Y/N)!! WAIT!!" But it was too late, you already saw it. Sundrops hand had a large slit through the palm. Like a knife had gone straight through the metal. Your eyes widened as you examined his hand. "Who did this..?" You said, looking up at sun who was looking away, he seemed ashamed. "I didn't mean to get hurt (y/n)!! I promise i promise I promise!!! I didn't mean it don't be mad!!" He cried out, almost like a child who was scared of being grounded. You hesitated for a minute, a little taken aback by the way sun reacted. It didn't even seem to be his fault but why is he so scared about you knowing?
You reached up, holding suns face in both your hands and keeping his head still. "It's okay, you didn't do anything wrong. Who did this." You said sternly. Sun hesitated for a moment, instead of telling you he just bent down and gave you a hug. His hug was somewhat tight, tighter than normal, you hugged him back slowly, patting his back. "You're okay sunny..you'll be fine.." you said as you felt him shake slightly, a small whirring sound coming from his body. Was he crying? Could he cry? I know some of the animatronics can for show purposes like roxy and freddy, maybe all of them had it.

After the End: Serenity
We all want to believe we are heroes of our own story - unless we want to be the villain, of course. At the end of everything, the Final Reaper decided he hadn’t been a hero. Driven by a desire to right the wrongs he was subjected to, he killed everyone who wronged him or his people - which turned out to be everyone that wasn’t killed by someone else first. He'd won - but it was a hollow victory. Eventually, Order’s Voice found a way out. If the only existing being would agree to give up most of his power, the Voice could reset the multiverse to an earlier time with a few minor changes. Of course, the Voice couldn't ask it that way. It could only ask if the Final Reaper was willing to start over from when Earth was first brought into Order. It was an easy decision, and yet it wasn’t. Was he willing to go through eons of pain again to not be alone? Yes. In a heartbeat. Not that his heart beat anymore. Now it would. Perhaps he could even be a hero, this time. When he landed in his old body - more or less - on Earth, the Final Reaper once again became Thomas. He was both and neither. He needed a new name for a new life. Serenity. ------------------------------------------ While this is technically a System Apocalypse story, it's a System Apocalypse that is designed to have a large percentage of the population survive and prosper. There are a lot of problems that come with the appearance of the Voice, and it's entirely possible to lose. Earth has some special opportunities, but also special challenges. The first time around, Earth won the first round and lost the second. Serenity has ten years from when the Voice arrives to prevent that from happening. It will be a group effort; Serenity can't win alone - which is difficult for someone who's been alone for as long as he has. Of course, that's only his second priority. ------------------------------------------- Updates Daily A note on the nonhuman lead tag: He isn't human, and hasn't been human for a very, very long time (or maybe not long at all, depending on how you count it). He still thinks of himself as human, either way. The content warnings are mostly to give me room to write; this fiction is not intended to be edgy, but once in a while a character will swear or someone will get seriously injured. The cover image is a Chandra/Hubble composite image of VV 340 / Arp 302 / UGC 9618. While we're not going to space itself any time soon in the story, people from elsewhere are coming to Earth and Serenity will visit other planets. Plus, I like space imagery.
