Y/n POV
"Long time no see sweet heart." she grinned devilishly and came closer to me with the surgical knife.
I don't want to die this early for God sake I am just 19.
I shivered under her gaze and the sarcastic love words she was saying.
I was tied up on a table with iron chains and all I could do was whimper.
She slided the knife all over my body until it reached my abdomen. I was trembling terribly.
"Tsk tsk tsk. You know what Y/n this is not fun anymore. I have been doing this every time. I want to do something new you know." she smirked and threw the knife away. I knitted my eyebrows in confusion.
What the heck is she talking about?
"You need something more big this time to be disciplined. Or should I say someone." she whispered into my ears causing my anxiety to sky rocket.
She is going to hurt someone close to me.
"Bring him." she yelled in my ears causing my ear drums to burst.
Then instantly some men came in with....
Wait...
Taehyung?
He was covered in his own blood and his skin looked pale. The shine and mischievousness in his eyes, was gone.
This was the moment I never wanted.
I started to struggle but the metal on my wrists was making it impossible for me to even move.
She slowly walked towards the wall that had all the weapons hanging on it.
Putting a hand on her hips and the other on her chin she acted like she was deciding something.
I internally scoffed.
What the hell.
She is crazy.
More crazier than I thought.
I peered my gaze towards taehyung and there he was lying lifelessly on the floor on his knees while two men kept him at his position.

I can't let this happen to him.
"Mom please spare his life. Do whatever you want with me but please let him go." I pleaded her but she seemed to ignore me. She just shook her head in disappointment and then turned to me.
"Nothing here is worth using anymore. You know what? I have tried every single thing on you so it's not fun anymore." she shrugged her shoulders and then walked to the drawer picking out a gun.
No God.
Please no.
It'd not what I am thinking.
No.
"Mom noo__" my words got cut as she carelessly shot it on his leg making him whimper In pain.
"MOM PLEASE LET HIM GOO!!"I shouted with all the energy that was left in my body but she just rolled her eyes.
"You know what Y/n I should just __"
Her words were cut off when someone barged inside the door.
Not someone.
But a lot of men.
Familiar men.
Correction. Boys.
"Y/n are you alright?" Jin said and ran towards me ignoring all the body guards and my mother.
Other boys were already fighting and jin tapped my cheek.
"Yes I am fine." I said to ease him up but he was just tapping my cheek.
Yoongi joined in and shook my shoulders.
"Dammit I said I am fine!!" I yelled but they didnt seem to understand that and now all the boys including taehyung were surrounded around the table I was chained to.
Dammit open me.
And wasn't taehyung hurt?
"Y/n? Hey? Wake up." I listened some one familiar and thats when I opened my eyes.
It was just a dream.
A frickin bad dream.
I opened my eyes to see all the boys eyeing me worriedly and taehyung was sitting beside me.

What is This?
I was breathing heavily when the scene from my dream was rotating in my mind. I never want this to happen. I can't let him know about this. He would end up getting hurt.
"Y/n are you_" he stopped when I hugged him tightly. I don't want to let him go and if I become selfish his life would be in danger.
After that dream I just wanted to hug him tightly that's why I couldn't control the urge to do it when he was sitting just on my side.
He was frozen on his spot but soon enough he wrapped his hands around me caressing my back. That was the moment I felt the safest.
"Ahem ahem." jimin fake coughed and then I realized that I was just doing PDA with a boy who is not even my boyfriend but someone for whom I had feelings that can't be described.
I separated from him but he kept his hands on my back. He gave me a slight smile that melted my heart at an instant.
No wonder why girls drool over him like crazy.
"Hey Y/n were you running a marathon in your dream or what? You are sweating so much." hoseok beamed with a smile. I couldn't help but stare at him. He is so positive and always full of energy.
"Stop staring at him." taehyung whispered making me come out of my imaginary world.
"Well your aunt called on your phone asking about your location so I sent her that. She will be here __"
"Y/N!! HONEY!! WHERE ARE YOU!!" and then she barged into the the room. She gasped as soon as she saw me.
"Omo look what that wench has done to you. I swear I am going to hunt her down personally and__"
"Aunty I am fine."
"Fine my foot! Look at you dear. You have gone so skinny and pale and these bandages are just adding gasoline to my fire." she said and sat down beside me where as taehyung stood up and joined the other boys who were standing there like detention.
She caressed my cheek and I felt so loved just by her touch. I missed her so much.
"It's final now. You are coming with me."

Vast Asleep
The story of Kingard the Binder in the aftermath of Broken This short story is the epilogue of Broken, the second book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. It’s a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers but is set apart from the full-length narrative. Vast Asleep follows the story of Kingard, who finds himself caught in a world called Mother's realm, bathed in glowing light but strangely stuck in place. He encounters his greatson Varyan there, and learns that his experiences are likely dreams. As he grows more accustomed to the loving realm around him, Kingard remembers fear and trepidation about the face of the world, and he loses contact with his companion. This story answers the question, Is Kingard really dead? with a tentative no, and new mysteries brewing. It also raises the question, What's happening while he's awake? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Ride Awake, about Kingard's situation with the Colkh'rak. Praise for Tales of the Known World Bookends: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between the epilogue and prologue is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well. -- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★
