《Princess of Peace [BNHA]》Chapter Forty One

"Yuwai-chan, that tickles." I giggled as Koda's bunny nuzzled my neck as I laid on the floor of his room trying to read the newest pony comic. We were going to have our first movie night in the dorm. Dad, Mr. Aizawa and even Present Mic agreed to join in.

The soft fluffy white rabbit, tired of not being the center of my attention, hopped atop my stomach causing me to let out another giggle. I set the comic down and gently rubbed her soft ears. Koda looked over to see I'd lost the battle and let out the tiniest of laughs.

"Thanks for keeping her distracted for me." He spoke up in his small voice as he finished cleaning Yuwai-chan's cage.

"Anytime." I beamed as she sprawled out across my abdomen demanding more snuggles and attention.

I closed my eyes and hugged the snuggly soft bunny feeling a sense of peace and calm. Though I luckily hadn't woken up my friends again, I was still having horrible nightmares and sleep was quite difficult. My talks with Mr. Aizawa seemed to be helping as I was able to fall asleep a little easier, staying asleep was the problem. Before I knew it, I'd drifted to sleep snuggling with Yuwai-chan. I felt someone drape a super soft blanket over me as I fell asleep hugging Yuwai-chan.

"Where the hell did she go?!" Bakugo's roar of rage startled me from my slumber and my eyes shot open as it sounded as if someone had kicked down Koda's door.

I sat up off the floor with a somewhat disgruntled Yuwai-chan in my arms. It looked like Yuwai-chan had thrown a scowl in Bakugo's direction as we both looked at him standing in the doorway. Koda let out a soft yelp from the beanbag chair he'd been reading in while Yuwai-chan and I had been napping. Bakugo's crimson eyes fell on me sitting on the floor with a now grumpy Yuwai-chan, who was most assuredly glaring at him, in my arms.

"The hell is the fluffball's problem?" He growled.

"You." I giggled and Koda nodded in agreement.

Bakugo shot a glare at Koda before returning his attention to me, his gaze softened, "if you want my help, the least you could do is be on time, Crybaby." He grumbled softly.

"Huh, what time is it?" I gently set Yuwai-chan down on the floor next to me. She huffed angrily at Bakugo before flopping across my leg possessively.

Koda covered his mouth to keep from snickering, I assumed that meant Yuwai-chan must have said something not so nice about Bakugo that only Koda could understand.

Bakugo held up his phone. I was already fifteen minutes late for our training. I blanched at this, "ah-, s-sorry Katsuki, I fell asleep."

He surprisingly didn't snap at me, "hurry up." He grumbled softly and held the door open for me.

I scooted Yuwai-chan off of my leg and gave her a few more ear rubs before turning to Koda, "thanks for letting me come over, sorry I wasn't very good company." I apologized.

Koda offered me a smile and waved his hands as if to say it was fine but seemed a little too anxious to speak up in Bakugo's presence.

"Still on for movie night?" I asked.

"I'll save you a seat." He spoke in his tiny voice.

I couldn't help but smile, "see you later, Koji-kun."

Bakugo shot a dark look in Koda's direction as I made my way toward the door. "What movie night?" He growled.

"We're having a movie night for the new pony movie in the common room." I pointed.

Bakugo looked as if he were uncomfortable as he mulled something over before snapping at me, "you didn't invite me."

I jumped at his sudden outburst, "but you don't like cute things-."

"Shut up, I'm going." He growled.

I smiled up at him, "really?!"

"And you're sitting with me." He grumbled as he caught my wrist in his hand and pulled me out of Koda's room.

"Huh, but I already told Koji-kun we could sit together and Dad will probably want to sit on my other side..." I frowned as I tried to think of a different seating arrangement so no one felt left out.

Bakugo shook his head and continued pulling me along behind him. Despite his gruff behavior, his grip on my wrist was gentle. I felt his grip begin to loosen and slip further down my wrist and my cheeks reddened as he caught my hand in his, so he'd have a better grip. We managed to slip out of the dorm without anyone noticing and made our way to one of the many practice fields on campus.

I glanced down at our interlocked hands as Bakugo had yet to release me. He followed my gaze and quickly let go of my hand before roughly turning me to face him. Nervously, I held his gaze, not sure what to expect for our first fighting lesson.

"Alright, hit me." He sighed.

"H-huh?! N-now?!" I squeaked, "b-but shouldn't we stretch or something first?"

He rolled his eyes, "I just want to see how hard you can hit."

I weakly made a fist and tensed as I thought about hitting him. "...b-but-."

"No buts." He grumbled and placed his hand over mine to make my fist tighter, "and you're not going to hurt anything that way."

"...I don't want to hurt anything..." I replied meekly.

"Hurry up and hit me." He sighed.

"Wh-where?" I panicked.

"I don't care anywhere." He growled, starting to lose his patience.

"I don't want to hurt you!" I cried.

He looked like he was going to snap at me but managed to hold his tongue. He let out a heavy sigh and held up his hand in front of him with his palm facing me. "Just do it."

I nervously swung my fist at his hand, completely missed and nearly fell over as I'd thrown all of my weight into it.

Bakugo caught me with ease and righted me as he let out another sigh of frustration.

The sound of laughter erupted from behind me, startling me. I spun around and spotted Monoma leaning against a nearby tree clutching at his sides in laughter. "I didn't think you could get anymore pathetic." He howled.

"Get lost!" Bakugo snarled.

Monoma wiped at his eyes and straightened up, recovering from his laughing fit and made his way toward us. Bakugo bristled with rage as he stopped next to me and draped an arm across my shoulders.

"Thanks for the laugh, Princess." Monoma chuckled.

"...did I do something funny?" I asked unsure and sent Monoma into hysterics.

"Get lost!" Bakugo repeated with a snarl.

Monoma straightened up. "What are you two doing?" He pondered, ignoring Bakugo and his dwindling patience.

"Practicing combat techniques." I piped up helpfully.

"Hot head needed some tips from you?" Monoma flashed a smirk in Bakugo's direction as if he were trying to get a rise out of him.

"What? No way, it's the other way around, I asked Katsuki to help me." I replied earnestly.

Bakugo groaned.

Monoma chuckled.

I remembered how Monoma had joined in when we all read pony comics and suddenly gasped as I was struck with an idea, "oh! Monoma-!"

He turned his periwinkle eyes in my direction, "hey, princess." He grumbled as if I'd offended him.

"Um, yes?"

"You call the other idiots by their first name." He frowned.

"Um." I wasn't sure who he was calling an idiot and it seemed like he'd just lumped himself in. I hesitated thinking I should correct him but also worried about somehow offending him further.

"It's Neito." He sighed.

"Okay." I began nervously, "um, Nei-."

Bakugo let out a roar and clapped his hand over my mouth before shooting a glare at Monoma, "get lost, loser." He snarled holding his free hand up menacingly. It was smoking and making teeny tiny threatening explosions.

"The princess was speaking." Monoma smirked, not seeming the least bit intimidated.

Bakugo reluctantly removed his hand from my mouth and I shot him a wary look wondering what had gotten into him.

"You were saying?" Monoma smirked as Bakugo bristled with rage.

"Um." I hesitantly glanced at Bakugo wondering if he were going to slap his hand over my mouth again, "Neito, we're going to have movie night tonight, would you like to join us?" I asked.

Monoma's cocky smirk slipped and he looked at me strangely for a moment before clearing his throat, "and what awful movie are you losers planning on watching?"

"The new pony movie." I piped up softly.

"Sounds terrible, I'll join you." Monoma said before turning and walking away.

I smiled after him, "okay, see you later Neito."

The tips of his ears seemed to redden but he didn't turn around, just waved haphazardly behind him. I waved back though I was sure he couldn't see me before turning to find Bakugo glaring at me.

"Katsuki?"

"Now I'm definitely going to the stupid movie night." He growled before holding his hand up, "try again."

I balled my hand into a fist, and swung at Bakugo's raised hand. Once again, I completely missed, though had gotten a little closer than my first attempt. Bakugo caught me with ease. He righted me and held his hand up, being surprisingly patient.

"Where the hell are you aiming?" He pondered.

"Your hand." I groaned. "...I'm not that coordinated..."

"I can see that." He smirked. "Try again, at least you were closer."

I smiled and swung again. My fist grazed the side of his hand but I didn't lose my balance, "I did it!" I cheered.

Bakugo shook his head, "you still missed." I thought I saw a tiny ghost of a smile on his lips but it was gone when I looked again. "Try again."

I nodded, took a deep breath, focused really hard on his hand and swung my fist again. There was a quiet smacking sound as my fist connected with his hand. "I did it for real!" I squealed before remembering I'd hit him, "I'm sorry! Are you okay?!"

Bakugo snorted at this, "my grandmother can hit harder than that. I'm fine and don't apologize, Crybaby."

"Why is your grandmother punching you?!" I asked, alarmed.

Bakugo smirked, "you should meet my family."

I smiled at the thought of getting to meet his family, I'd never had a big family, "I'd love to meet your family."

His cheeks reddened and he hurriedly looked away, "alright, let's move on." He talked about some of the various matchups from our exams and the Sports Festival and talked me through some of the combat maneuvers and sequences our classmates had used before suggesting we try one.

A moment later I was standing face to face with Bakugo, shaking like a leaf as he swung his fist at me. I let out a panicked yelp and tried to block like he'd shown me. Even though I'd gotten my arm up in time, the moment he made contact, I toppled backward with a soft 'oof' and landed flat on my back. I sat up quickly and rubbed my back readying to jump to my feet only to pause as Bakugo extended a hand to me.

"...sorry..." I squeaked as I accepted his hand and let him help me to my feet.

He threw me a scowl and I remembered he'd told me not to apologize just moments before. I bit my lip to keep myself from apologizing again. Once he was sure I was alright, we continued our lesson. An hour later, I had grass stains all over my clothes, bruises all over my body and a self-inflicted busted lip, but I could tell I was improving as Bakugo had less criticisms after each try.

"Come on, if you want to make it back in time to get cleaned up before the stupid movie, we should head back now." Bakugo sighed and offered me a hand as I lay sprawled in the grass exhausted from my first fighting lesson.

"Okay." I said with as much enthusiasm as I could muster and tried to lift my arm to take his hand. My body didn't respond.

Bakugo raised an eyebrow, "you going to take my hand?"

"I'm trying to."

Bakugo let out a sigh and knelt beside me. I felt my heart skip a beat as he lifted me into his arms. He carried me in the direction of the dorm. After a few moments I was able to relax in his arms.

I leaned my head against his shoulder and looked up at him shyly, "...thanks, Katsuki..."

"Don't mention it, Crybaby." He murmured.

I smiled and let my eyes drift closed.

"...I knew you tried to help me escape..."

My eyes shot open and I looked up at him curiously.

"My restraints started to move on their own, like some annoying Telekinetic Crybaby was trying to save me after I told her to stop doing that." He grumbled refusing to look down at me. His expression was stony.

"I'd do it again too." I said quietly.

"That's stupid, you had the ability to use your quirk at some point you should have used it to save yourself, Dummy." His voice cracked. "I was fine...you weren't."

"But it still must have been scary for you, I wanted to make sure you knew I hadn't given up on you." I sniffled.

He looked down at me, his crimson eyes filled with a burning intensity I hadn't seen before, "I already knew that, even if you wouldn't have-..." He looked to be struggling for composure, "that's just the kind of idiot you are."

I felt a single tear slip down my cheek at this and offered him a bright smile, "yep."

His lips pulled into a faint ghost of a smile, "idiot."

We made it to the dorm and everyone panicked as they saw my busted lip and plethora of new bruises. I somehow managed to keep everyone from blaming Bakugo. Once everyone was reassured that I was fine and none of my healing wounds had reopened thanks to Recovery Girl's most recent efforts, I slipped away for a much needed bath and had enough time to get ready for movie night.
