《Princess of Peace [BNHA]》Chapter Forty

I'd spent most of the day with Naomasa trying to learn more about The League of Villains. We tried to get what information we could out of All For One and the other members we had in custody, but we weren't having a lot of luck. As the sun was starting to set, Aizawa called me. I answered right away worried something was wrong with Amy.
"Aizawa, what is it? Is Amy okay?!" My heart was racing as I began to imagine the worst.
I could hear him let out a sigh on the other end, "she had a rough day, I'm sure her classmates can handle it but it might be good for her to see you."
"What happened? Is she alright?" I panicked.
"She's alright... Monoma tried to borrow her quirk..." He trailed off.
"What happened?" I asked quietly, I'd already had my suspicions about Amy's quirk. Though she didn't have One For All, it was entirely possible that some traits still could have been passed along, like some of the protections to keep it from being forcibly taken.
"It seemed like her quirk rejected him...it nearly killed him...he got to Recovery Girl in time and she was able to heal him, but Amy took it pretty hard." Aizawa paused again before continuing, "...I also noticed her quirk isn't tiring her out as much as before when she uses it and it appears to have gotten stronger."
"I noticed that too. I think it has something to do with the trauma she's been through." Sometimes great trauma could make quirks stronger. Being captured by the villains was an extremely traumatizing experience for her, I was sure it was the cause for the change in her quirk.
"I think you might be right." He agreed.
"Thanks for looking after Amy for me, Aizawa. I appreciate it." I said before hanging up.
Naomasa looked up at me from his desk littered with our collected notes and data on The League, "everything okay with Amy?" He asked worried.
"She had a rough day; I'm going to take off." I looked a little guiltily at the mess of files I was leaving him with to clean up.
He waved me away with a reassuring smile, "go on."
I nodded and hurried out the door before hailing a cab. I got to the UA campus shortly after the sun had set and spotted Amy walking with young Shinso. They were much too close for comfort as he currently had his arm draped across her shoulders as they walked toward her dorm keeping her tucked in against him. It took everything I had not to get out of the cab and run towards them in a panic. The only thing keeping me from being overbearing was the small serene smile on Amy's lips. As much as I hated to admit it, he had a calming effect on her.
In the back of my mind I could faintly hear Ayumi protesting and telling me to get over there and break it up. I could practically feel her trying to punch me in the spine as I hesitated, giving them some more time together. Amy looked more relaxed and at peace than I had seen her in a very long while. I stiffly paid the cab before slowly walking in their direction. Shinso suddenly tensed and glanced over his shoulder at me before paling considerably.
"Hitoshi?" Amy's sweet voice was laced with worry as she looked to the sudden pallor of his skin, "are you alright?!"

"I suddenly feel like my life is in danger." He said with a grimace.
"W-what?!" Amy panicked and turned to look behind her, she spotted me and her eyes brightened, "Dad!" She ran to me.
I caught her in my arms and hugged her tight. "Hey Princess, Aizawa told me you had a rough day and could use a visit from Dad Might."
She hugged me back, though I could feel her trembling slightly, her wounds were starting to ache, she was overdoing it again. "I could always use a visit from Dad Might." Her soft sweet giggle lifted my heart.
I kissed the top of her head and slowly released her from my hold before glancing in Shinso's direction as he looked torn between wanting to make a run for it and wanting to wait to make sure Amy was alright. He was quite brave and I appreciated his concern for Amy's well-being. "I need to speak with Young Shinso for a moment, why don't you head inside, I'll be there in a bit."
She hesitated, looking worried. "He didn't kidnap me; he was just making sure I didn't have to walk back in the dark-." She tried to explain.
"I know Princess, he's not in trouble." I reassured her.
"O-okay." Amy nodded and took a step away from me. She looked to Shinso and hesitated a moment before stepping toward him and giving him a hug. "Thanks for coming to my rescue, Hitoshi." I felt a fleeting sense of rage and panic as she gingerly kissed him on the cheek.
"Thanks for putting a hit out on me, Princess Scaredy Cat." Shinso teased her with a chuckle.
"H-Huh?!" Amy squeaked.
"Don't worry about it." Shinso chuckled, "get inside, your harem is probably worried and about to start forming a search party."
"What's a harem?" Amy asked innocently.
Shinso held back a laugh, "nothing for you to worry about."
Amy hesitated looking between the two of us. I couldn't blame her for her reservations, I hadn't handled myself the best in the past when it came to Shinso. I gave her a reassuring smile and motioned for her to go inside.
She waved farewell to Shinso before opening the door to the dorm. Before I could say anything to Shinso, I heard Amy let out a panicked yelp the moment she stepped into the dorm. Shinso and I both turned to the door.
"AMY!" Shinso bolted for the door, with me a step behind him.
"BAKUGO!" There was a chorus of shouts from inside.
Shinso reached the door a fraction before me and threw it open. I saw all of Class 1A gathered in the common sitting area, there was a plethora of pony comics sitting in stacks all around the room. Someone had created small reading nests on the sofas and on the floor with soft fluffy blankets and snuggly plushies. There was a warm cup of cocoa sitting in front of each nest. I noticed a moment later what the rest of class 1A had been yelling at Bakugo for as I spotted him with Amy slung over his shoulder. It seemed he'd grabbed her the moment she'd walked through the door and had intended to bring her here. He set her on the sofa in the biggest pile of plushies and blankets.
"A-All Might!" Midoriya squeaked as he suddenly spotted me and Shinso.
I noticed Todoroki visibly jerk at the mention of my name and look to me warily. Had I done something to scare him? He'd stopped by to visit Amy before, but I didn't think I'd done anything to warrant that sort of reaction. Bakugo tensed at the mention of my name and turned around. His eyes widened as he spotted me and realized I'd just witnessed him man handling my currently very fragile daughter.

"What's all this?" I asked while trying to keep myself from snapping at Bakugo, Amy didn't look upset, if anything she looked happy. He'd probably just startled her because she was very easy to spook now but it didn't seem like she had a problem with his actions.
"Amy asked us all to read comics with her tonight." Iida replied politely, I was sure he'd just finished admonishing Bakugo for his actions.
Yaoyorozu joined in, "and after the day she's had we thought we could make it a little more special."
"Anyone need more cocoa? The cookies will be done soon too." Sato appeared from the kitchen with a tray of freshly made cocoa in hand, wearing a striped apron.
They'd done all of this, to help Amy feel safe and make her feel better after a rough day. I'd thought she needed me, but it seemed her classmates were perfectly capable of taking care of her. I was grateful to them, all of them.
Shinso looked to me curiously, "did you still need to talk to me?"
"Yes, actually, I can do it here, it's something I need to say to all of you." I nodded.
All the students looked to me curiously.
"Thank you...all of you...for looking after Amy. I'm so glad she has all of you." I spoke up, grateful to each and every one of them for helping Amy heal.
"No thanks necessary, she's our friend, of course we'd look after her." Kirishima piped up and everyone quickly agreed.
Amy's bright blue eyes filled with tears as she looked to me and everyone else in the room, "you all really are the best. I love you all." She smiled as a few tears of joy slid down her cheek.
"Oh god, my heart." Kaminari clutched at his chest.
"I'd totally die for her." Sero said dramatically clutching at his own chest.
I noticed many others having similar reactions. All the girls let out a loud "aww, we love you too, Amy!" and swarmed toward Amy sweeping her into a group hug.
Midoriya seemed to have broken completely and dropped to floor muttering incessantly 'she said she loved me.' It took every ounce of self-control I had not to snap 'no she didn't!' back at him.
Bakugo and Todoroki were both completely red faced but being quiet. I looked over at Shinso he had a small smile on his face. Once everyone had recovered, I was surprised to see class 1A inviting Shinso and I to join them for cookies, cocoa and comics.
I took a seat on the sofa next to Amy while the rest of class 1A spread out at the other reading nests on the other sofas and scattered out on the floor. I noticed Shinso, Todoroki, Bakugo and Midoriya were the four nearest to Amy. After awhile of reading with the pony series playing softly in the background on the TV, I realized one of Amy's classmates wasn't present.
I did a quick headcount, Mineta was missing.
Sero looked up as he noticed me scanning the room before pointing upward. I glanced upward and spotted Mineta taped to the ceiling. I wasn't sure whether to laugh, commend young Sero or get Mineta down. He was certainly one of the most worrisome ones as he seemed quite lecherous. Though I guess I didn't need to worry, it seemed like the others were determined to keep Amy safe, even from their own classmate. As a teacher, I probably should have been more concerned and told the others to get him down, but as a father of a sweet innocent young lady, I had no qualms with him being where he was.
A soft knock sounded from the door. Amy jumped beside me and nearly dropped the comic in her hands. Everyone looked to her worriedly noticing how much she'd jumped at the sudden sound. Iida went to answer the door.
He returned a moment later, "Amy, it's for you."
I frowned, who would be visiting her at this hour? Amy looked to me before getting to her feet and slowly making her way to the door. I followed after her and was shocked to see Kendo from class 1B using her quirk to hold Monoma in her grip appearing to have dragged him here against his will.
Amy looked worried, "Monoma, Kendo, what are you two doing here?"
"Sorry for stopping by so late, Amy. I know this idiot probably still owed you an apology and wanted to make sure you got it." Kendo shook Monoma in her grip.
"Ah but he-." Amy began but Monoma cut her off.
"I'm not apologizing." He huffed.
I felt rage well up inside of me until I heard Amy's soft sweet voice.
"Kendo, please put him down, it's okay, really." Amy smiled.
Kendo hesitated, "but-."
"She said it was okay, so put me down." Monoma sighed.
Kendo reluctantly released him from her hold.
"We're all reading pony comics, do you two want to join us?" Amy asked sweetly.
"That sounds horrible." Monoma grumbled as he stepped inside.
Kendo looked shocked, "then why are you going inside?"
"You'd just force me to otherwise." He huffed and followed Amy to the living room.
Kendo giggled quietly, "mhm, I'm sure that's it."
I got the feeling I'd missed something based on that interaction. I'd ask Amy about it later. I returned to the living room and was surprised to see Monoma sitting on the couch next to Amy. He was currently being glared at by Shinso, Todoroki and Bakugo. Amy offered him a comic which he reluctantly accepted.
"This is dumb." He grumbled as he flipped through the pages. Despite his protesting, he read through the comic ignoring all the menacing looks everyone else was shooting at him.
Kendo was still giggling as she went to join some of the girls. Amy settled back onto the sofa and began to relax as I sat next to her. It was amazing to see how many people were here for her. At least, when the time came that I could no longer be here for her, she had a wonderful support system. There were a few questionable people in her support system, I looked to Bakugo, Monoma and then up at Mineta taped to the ceiling but they were all an integral part of her support system. No matter how questionable some of them were, I was glad she had them.

How to Raise Your Dungeon
A dungeon core awakens for the first time. It knows nothing, it has nothing, but it can hear something. Voices, whispering, talking, and sharing. For now, they are distant. But it believes, if it proves itself, they may provide it with wisdom and direction. And so its slow but steady growth begins. Polls will come when the dungeon specifically wants to choose between a number of options, and believes it will receive an answer. However, it will "hear" any comments made on the most recent chapter, and these will shape its behaviour. It trusts you implicitely. This story is an exercise in stretching my creative muscles, so with each decision made, the options and opportunities open to the dungeon will change- some closing off forever. The dungeon will face threats periodically, and its fate in these encounters will be heavily influenced by your advice, though it will of course do its absolute best even without advice. It hardly wants to die. Heavily inspired by There Is No Epic Loot Here, Only Puns, though my approach to the concept is somewhat different from that work.
