《Princess of Peace [BNHA]》Chapter Fourteen

~Amy's POV~

I was nervous about telling Izuku I'd been accepted into UA without taking the exam, though I shouldn't have been. He seemed more excited for me than Dad was. I should have known he'd be supportive and would cheer me on. I was so happy when Dad told me Izuku had passed the exam. We were going to be at UA together.

Now as the first day of my high school life at UA was here, I was a nervous wreck. I kept losing my grip on my quirk as I was getting dressed for school and things kept flying around my room. Feeling like an anxious mess, I managed to change into my uniform and make my way toward the door. As I opened my bedroom door, I let out a scream and dropped to the floor as I was instantly showered with confetti and brightly colored balloons.

"Happy First Day at UA!" Dad bellowed loudly not realizing that I'd screamed and hit the floor instinctively reacting to the plethora of things flying at me. "Huh? Amy? Where did you g-?" He paused as he looked down and spotted me lying on the floor with wide eyes. "Maybe this was a bit much..." He smiled sheepishly.

"N-No, it's okay." I squeaked once I was sure my heart wasn't going to explode from the sudden shock.

Dad picked me up off the floor with ease and dusted me off causing a slew of glittery pieces of confetti to fall to the floor. "Sorry, I was a little excited." He chuckled before handing me a cute white princess bear plush that was wearing a tiny little uniform that matched my own.

It seemed we both had similar ideas, I'd gotten him a build a bear plush for his first day as a teacher too. I hugged the bear plush with a smile before wrapping my arms around him, "thanks, Dad."

Using my quirk, I got all the confetti cleaned up and placed the bear plush atop my bed. The balloons drifted back down from the ceiling, where they had escaped to when dad released them to pick me up off the floor. Their strings loosely tied themselves to one of the chairs in the kitchen.

"I could have cleaned everything up." Dad poked at me with a smile.

"...but it's your first day too." I smiled. The spice cabinet above the stove swung open and Dad looked over curiously.

A bright smile lit up his face as he reached into the spice cabinet to retrieve an All Might bear plush wearing a little suit and tie holding a tiny mug that said #1 Teacher. He grinned as he realized we'd essentially gotten each other the same gift. "Thanks, Princess."

Dad and I left for school together after a quick breakfast. We arrived before most of the students since Dad was teaching and had to meet with Principal Nezu. He walked me to my classroom since he already knew his way around campus. Now that we were on campus my nerves were shot, my stomach was tying itself into unpleasant knots as I stared at the giant door leading to classroom 1A.

"Are you alright?" Dad asked worried as he placed one of his large hands atop my head.

I struggled to nod and realized he did it intentionally so I'd be forced to answer him and he could discern from my voice if I was really okay, "y-yeah."

"Nervous?" He smiled.

"I'm just a little worried...I don't want to let you down or embarrass you..." I bit my lip. I wasn't very strong.

Dad pulled me in for a hug, "that's not something you'll ever have to worry about, Princess. I'm already incredibly proud of you. I just want you to try to have fun." He smiled as he released me from his hold.

"I'll try..." I reluctantly took a step away from him and headed for the door. Pausing at the door I turned to look back at him and couldn't help but giggle as I saw him striking one of his traditional All Might poses flashing me a blinding smile and giving me a thumbs up. Smiling, I waved farewell and stepped into the classroom.

We'd arrived early enough no one else was here. I looked to the front of the room to see a seating chart drawn out on the board. My name was showing in the last seat of the last row. I made my way to my desk feeling a little glad no one else had arrived yet as it gave me a moment to adjust to the new surroundings. I took a seat and opened one of the text books I'd received before school started for our hero coursework. I'd skimmed it when it arrived and decided to do some light reading since I felt like I was a little behind everyone else who probably grew up wanting to be a hero.

Not long after I'd started reading through some of the text books, I heard the door open. I glanced up and spotted a tall boy with dark hair and rectangular rimmed glasses. He looked prim and proper and walked with purpose keeping his back straight and his head high. His dark eyes gazed in my direction looking surprised to find he wasn't the first one to arrive.

He straightened himself up standing even taller than before and made his way to my desk in a stiff robotic fashion. I paled as he greeted me with a polite bow that he'd dropped into so suddenly I thought he'd broken his back.

"My name is Tenya Iida! It's nice to meet you, classmate." His voice was loud clear and stiff.

I blinked a few times before bowing my head politely, "I-it's nice to meet you, my name is Amelia Takada."

"I didn't see you at the entrance exam." He noted matter of fact.

"O-oh...I didn't..." I looked away feeling uncomfortable. Perhaps he could already tell I didn't deserve to be here.

The door opened and a few more students, a gaggle of boys filed into the room talking and laughing, it seemed they'd bumped into each other on their way and made fast friends. For the time being, I was saved. The prim proper boy with the glasses rushed over to greet the other boys startling them all with his aggressive politeness.

"Cute girl!" One of the boys, a short boy with lumpy dark purple hair cried as he pointed in my direction nearly causing me to fall out of my seat in panic.

After some awkward introductions, the other boys kept the short boy away from me and everyone took their seats. More of our classmates began to trickle in and find their seats. So far, everyone was polite and seemed to be just as nervous as me though were maybe a little better at hiding it.

The door opened again about ten minutes before class was supposed to start and I felt my heart stop beating as I spotted a familiar face. It was a face I'd know anywhere along with the cold unfeeling mismatched gaze, Shoto Todoroki. Oh no! What if he recognized me?! He'd think I lied to him! I didn't lie! I really wasn't good at anything and when we had talked, I didn't know if I wanted to be a hero. Izuku had changed my mind.

I held my breath as he stepped into the room without a word to anyone and took his seat at the end of the second row. His mismatched gaze briefly swept over me, though it seemed as if he'd looked right through me. There was no recognition in the brief glance he spared me. He didn't recognize me! Was it possible at that time he'd written me off and completely forgotten about my existence as he no longer saw me as a threat?

It was probably best to stay out of his way, I didn't really want to be bullied by him or be declared a rival. That didn't seem very fun. Looking away from him I returned to my book. I didn't get long to read before the classroom door slid open with a loud bang nearly causing everyone to jump. I warily looked to the door and spotted a cute boy with wild spiky dusty golden blonde hair and piercing crimson eyes. There was a menacing scowl across his face as he eyed the rest of the class before trudging to his seat. He was in my row, a few seats ahead of me.

Our eyes met and a quiet squeak of terror escaped me as I came face to face with his fearsome glare. I hurriedly averted my gaze, bowing my head, I didn't want to pick a fight with anyone here. There were already several terrifying people I thought it best to avoid.

Not long after the angry blonde had dropped into his desk, I thought I heard him kick up his feet atop it. The assertive polite boy with the glasses leapt to his feet at this. I paled as he stomped toward the scary blonde. What was he doing?

"What do you think you're doing?" He asked with an air of authority as he attempted to reprimand the terrifying boy.

"Huh?!" The blonde snarled angrily and shot Iida a dark look. He shifted slightly as if he were preparing to attack.

"Ah! P-p-please don't fight!" I squeaked in terror causing them both to turn to me. The blonde's glare intensified and I cowered beneath his frightening gaze, sinking lower into my seat in an attempt to hide. "...please..."

The blonde deemed me not worth his time and turned back to glare at Iida.

"Take your feet off that desk now!" Iida demanded. "It's the first day and you're already disrespecting this academy by scuffing school property, you cretin."

"You're kidding me, right?!" The blonde scoffed not seeming to like Iida's bossy authoritative demeanor. He kind of acted like a class representative might which really seemed to irk the blonde boy. The blonde smirked, his annoyance evident in his tense shoulders, "your old school put a stick up your ass? Or were you born with it?"

"Let's start over. I'm Tenya Iida from Somei Private Academy-."

"Somei, huh? So, you must think you're better than me. I'm gonna have fun tearing you a new one." The blonde growled.

Iida gasped and took a step back, "you would threaten me? Your own classmate? Are you sure you're in the right place?" He asked bewildered. Was there a school for villains? Did such a thing exist?

At that moment I looked away from the two boys that were causing a scene and spotted the door slightly cracked open and a shocked Izuku standing in the doorway. A smile lit up my face and I waved over at him. His gaze flicked in my direction and his cheeks reddened. He returned my smile with a bright smile of his own but before he could say anything, Iida noticed him.

"It's him!"

Everyone looked around confused for a moment. Iida power walked to Izuku and I paled wondering if I should tell him to run for it. All the students turned to look at Midoriya which made him babble nervously and his face turn even redder.

"Uh, hi!" He squealed somewhat panicked.

"Good Morning." Iida had him in his clutches before I could call out to him and I threw him an apologetic look. "My name is Tenya Iida fro-." He said as he marched determinedly toward Izuku before he was cut off.

"Yeah, I-I know." Izuku frantically waved his hands in front of him trying to wave the intense boy away. "I'm Izuku Midoriya." He added with a nervous smile. "It's super nice to meet you."

Tenya straightened up intensely standing like a soldier at attention and I waited for him to drop into another spine breaking bow. "Midoriya. You realized that there was something more to the practical exam, didn't you?" He said so seriously Izuku looked concerned.

"Huh?" Izuku was completely lost.

"You must be very perceptive." Iida looked like he was beating himself up about something. "And I completely misjudged you, I admit. As a student you're far superior than me."

Before Izuku could respond a somewhat bubbly girl with short bobbed auburn tinged brown hair and sparkling brown eyes appeared behind Izuku with a grin. "Hey! I recognize that messed up hair! Falling boy!"

My heart wavered unsteadily in my chest as she grinned at Izuku. Izuku turned to her with a gasp before he began rambling nervously, his face reddening. My chest felt somewhat like it was being constricted. What was wrong with me? For some reason after seeing Izuku act bashful around another girl, I felt hurt. Why?

I looked away from the trio crowding the doorway wondering why my heart felt so heavy in my chest. What was this strange feeling? Why did it happen now? Trying to keep myself calm, I focused on taking a few deep breaths. Perhaps it was just first day jitters creeping back in now that the classroom was filled up. Maybe I'd just relaxed when I saw Izuku and then everything came rushing back?

The trio in the doorway gasped and I looked up in time to see someone standing in the doorway cocooned in a bright yellow sleeping bag that was zipped all the way up. Izuku, Iida and the pretty girl all took a faltering step away from the man in the sleeping bag as he slowly unzipped it revealing a face I recognized. It was the man from the bank robbery! He was one of the heroes on the scene that had almost been shot.

His shoulder length shaggy hair was a tousled mess, his eyes looked tired and bloodshot like the last time I'd seen him. I was starting to worry he had a sleeping disorder or a severe vitamin deficiency. I vaguely thought I heard him say something about if we were here to make friends we should pack up and go now. Thinking back on the day we'd met I felt my heart drop as I remembered his companion mentioning something about him expelling an ENTIRE class the year before.

"It took eight seconds before you all shut up." He said in a bored tone as he began peeling away his sleeping bag. "That's not gonna work. Time is precious." He stepped out of the sleeping bag. "Rational students would understand that." He continued on completely unaffected by everyone's staring. His head turned to survey the rest of the class and he addressed us unenthusiastically, as if he'd rather be anywhere else than here. "Hello, I'm Shota Aizawa, your teacher." He reached into the sleeping bag he'd just crawled out of and started pulling out UA gym uniforms before tossing them to everyone. "Right, let's get to it, put these on and head outside."

I completely missed catching my uniform and it smacked me hard in the face. Luckily it was soft but I still felt embarrassed. I wanted to make a good impression. Mr. Aizawa knew who my dad was and I didn't want to embarrass him by being dead weight.

After we all changed into our gym uniforms, we met Mr. Aizawa outside and he led us to what looked like a track and field practice area. He looked impatient by the time we all arrived, perhaps we'd taken longer than he had hoped. He did seem to have a thing for punctuality. He even timed how long it took for everyone to quiet down.

"Today we'll be having a quirk assessment test." Mr. Aizawa explained in his bored voice.

"What?! A quirk assessment test?" I heard several other students exclaim around me.

"But, what about orientation, we're going to miss it." The girl with the bobbed hair that had been talking to Izuku earlier piped up.

"If you really want to make the big leagues you can't waste time on pointless ceremonies. Here at UA we're not tethered to traditions. That means that I get to run my class however I see fit." Mr. Aizawa looked at us all as if he were sizing everyone up, deeming our worth.

Everyone gulped.

"You've been taking standardized tests most of your lives, but you never got to use your quirks in physical exams before." Mr. Aizawa held up a mobile device that had various stats and things listed on it. "The country's still trying to pretend we're all created equal by not letting those with the most power excel. It's not rational. One day, the ministry of education will learn." He droned on for a bit before turning to the scary looking blonde with the blood red eyes, "Bakugo, you managed to get the most points on the entrance exam. What was your farthest distance throw with a softball when you were in Junior High?"

"Sixty-seven meters, I think." The blonde shrugged.

My eyes grew wide at this. He was a monster even without his quirk! I was always so horrible at these kind of assessment tests, I'd never been physically strong, or coordinated. My furthest distance throw was barely ten meters.

"Right. Try doing it with your quirk." Mr. Aizawa pointed toward one of the painted circles on the field. Bakugo moved to the circle catching the softball Mr. Aizawa tossed to him with ease. "Anything goes, just stay in the circle." Mr. Aizawa stuffed his hands into his pockets and waited expectantly, "Go on, you're wasting our time."

Bakugo stretched his arms cockily in front of him with a smug smirk, "All right man, you asked for it." He wound back and inhaled before stepping forward and releasing the ball with a massive explosion. "DIE!"

Did he just say die? Maybe he really thought he was supposed to be in villain school!

"Oh, whoa." I heard Izuku murmur beside me and looked over to see a blank hopeless expression on his face.

"Don't worry, Izuku, you'll do great." I tried to reassure him with a smile.

"All of you need to know your maximum capabilities. It's the most rational way of figuring out your potential as a pro hero." He held up the monitoring device

705.2m flashed back at us on the screen.

Everyone around me gasped and after that display I was certain I didn't belong here. The other students began talking amongst themselves some sounded excited and wanted to give it a go. Mr. Aizawa didn't look amused by the chatter. A wicked smirk crept onto his face and I had a bad feeling there was going to be a threat of expulsion coming soon.

"So, this looks fun, huh?" Mr. Aizawa asked coolly, "you have three years here to become a hero. You think its all going to be games and play time?" He smirked, "idiots...Today you'll compete in eight physical tests to gauge your potential. Whoever comes in last has none, and will be expelled immediately."

I noticed the blonde look to me and Izuku as Mr. Aizawa mentioned last place having no potential, he thought it was going to be one of us. Everyone else around me gasped at Mr. Aizawa's cool delivery and I looked over to Izuku. I knew he was still worried about using Dad's quirk, he didn't have a good grasp of it yet. I had to do my best but I also had to cheer him on so he could do his best.

"Like I said, I get to decide how this class runs. Understand?" Mr. Aizawa was starting to sound a little scary, "if that's a problem you can head home right now." His tired bloodshot eyes swept in my direction, "Amelia."

I nearly jumped out of my skin. "Y-yes, S-sir?"

My classmates turned to me curiously.

"You're up next." He tossed a softball in my direction and I resisted the urge to yelp and duck as it flew toward me. Realizing my plight in an instant from the look of terror on my face, Izuku reached over and caught the softball with amazing reflexes. Mr. Aizawa smirked, "since I was one of the people who recommended you, try not to disappoint me."

I nearly dropped the ball as I gaped at him. "Y-you?"

Everyone stared at me in wonder. Mr. Aizawa pointed to the circle Bakugo had just stepped out of. Izuku offered me a warm smile though he himself was a ball of nerves. I shakily stepped toward the circle wondering why Mr. Aizawa would have recommended me to attend UA. Was it because of the robbery? I had just acted on instinct.

"Don't waste our time." He said the same thing he'd said to Bakugo once I hesitated within the circle.

I took a deep breath and threw the ball as hard as I could, it barely made it ten meters before it started to drop. I could hear Bakugo snort in laughter and a few others as well. Hurriedly, I activated my quirk as the ball started to drop and without thinking I waved my hand at the ball desperately to make it go farther. The ball flew with such an intense speed the ground beneath its path cracked apart. I cringed; I hadn't meant to do that!
