《Princess of Peace [BNHA]》Chapter Eight

~Amy's POV~

I woke on Saturday morning later than I had anticipated. Dad and I had stayed up late watching the pony movie and the sequel that had just come out. They were ridiculously childish but they meant a lot to me. Dad teared up during the second movie because of the powerful messages about friendship being able to overcome all obstacles. Rubbing the sleep from my eyes I got out of bed.

Voices drifted into my room from the kitchen. Someone was here? I straightened out the childish froufrou-y pink nightgown dad had bought me when he took me to the Disney Resort for my birthday last year, and stepped out of my bedroom trying to stifle a yawn. I spotted Makoto sitting at the small kitchen table with Dad drinking a cup of coffee. Her warm brown eyes fell on me and she squealed in delight.

"Aren't you just the cutest!"

Dad turned and smiled, "Good morning, Princess."

"Good morning." I replied back softly, "sorry for oversleeping, I can make breakfast-."

"It's alright, Princess, I had an early start this morning." He'd been training with Midoriya ever since he'd met him, they'd been starting their days before the sun rose. I'd tried to wake up early to prepare him breakfast and lunches to take with him. After the first few days he told me not to worry about it upon realizing I didn't function well getting up that early.

Makoto got up from the table and pulled me in for a warm hug. "Amy, convince your dad to let me kidnap you for the day for some retail therapy."

"Huh?" I was thrown off by her hug that nearly knocked me off my feet, "did something happen?" I asked her worried as I hugged her back just so I could stay upright.

"We'll save the boy talk for later." Makoto winked as she released me from her hold.

"B-boy talk?" Dad's voice cracked.

Makoto giggled, "come on, All Might, Amy's a teenager of course we're going to have boy talk."

I didn't really know any boys to talk about but Makoto looked like she really needed someone to talk to, even if she was hiding it well. I didn't like asking for things though. Nervously I glanced over at Dad, "is it okay if I spend the day with Makoto?"

Dad hesitated. He looked momentarily concerned but reluctantly nodded, "alright." His gaze flicked to Makoto as she grinned.

"Don't worry, I'll keep the little Princess safe." Makoto beamed before ushering me toward my room, "hurry, change into something cute so we can go."

"N-not too cute." Dad protested awkwardly from the kitchen. "W-what about that UA sweatshirt?"

He was referring to the one he had given me that completely drowned me to the point where I looked almost like I'd thrown a sheet over myself in an attempt to be a ghost. Why was he being weirder than usual? I giggled softly and turned to head back to my room to change. I settled on a modest baby blue dress that fell to my knees before fixing my hair and tying it up with a matching blue ribbon.

When I left the room, Makoto was already waiting outside ready to go. Dad looked momentarily worried as he looked to my outfit. It looked like he was at war with himself for a moment torn between telling me I looked cute or telling me it was too cute and I should change. I didn't think it was too cute, I'd tried to go for something that was long, not lowcut and had sleeves. He seemed to pick up on that too and his smile returned.

"Stick close to Makoto, be careful, don't accept candy from strangers or anything for that matter, avoid dogs-" He was fumbling around trying to run through a mental checklist, this was the first time I was going out for the day without him. Normally when Makoto would take me shopping Dad and Detective Tsukauchi would tag along and at least be nearby.

I smiled and gave him a big hug. "I have my epipen incase there are bees or peaches, and I don't even know any boys to talk about, so you don't have to worry so much."

Dad sighed in relief and hugged me back, "alright, do you need any money?"

I shook my head, "there really isn't anything I need." He made sure of that; I didn't want for anything.

"Maybe you should take my card just in case." He released me from his hold and fumbled for his wallet before extending a plastic debit card to me.

I looked up at him with a frown. "Dad..."

"Is that, not right?" He mirrored my frown.

"That's not it...it's just I don't know that many adults would think it's a good idea to give a teenager so much financial power..."

"Ah...maybe cash." He started to pull out an obscene amount of money.

"...Dad..."

He paused. "Too much?"

I nodded. We finally settled on a reasonable amount, though Dad insisted it wasn't enough and gave me a little extra. He walked me to the door, still looking a little worried. "You're training with Midoriya after this, right?" They usually trained extra on weekends.

"Yeah." He kissed the top of my head, "but I'll have my cellphone on me, call me if you need anything."

"I will." I stepped into my shoes before turning to him with a smile, "love you, Dad."

He grinned, "I love you too, Princess. Have fun."

I headed out the door to find Makoto waiting. She linked her arm with mine, "what do you say to pancakes?"

I giggled, "sounds good."

We made our way to a breakfast place near the mall. Makoto made sure to pick a place that had plenty of vegan options. As we ate breakfast, she asked me about school and my nonexistent friends and talked about how tough university was getting. It seemed to be the cause of her stress. There was a guy she'd been dating and really liked that dumped her. She was having a pretty rough time. When she brought him up she looked really sad.

"Ugh, I'm not letting that loser ruin a perfectly good girl's day." She groaned as we paid for our breakfast and got up to leave. "Alright, let's stop by the bank so I can get some cash and let's hit up all the stores in the mall." She smacked herself on the cheeks to get herself fired up before offering me a smile.

I couldn't help but smile back at her as I linked my arm with hers. We headed to the bank and she talked about some of the happier things going on in her school life. She was really enjoying all of her journalism courses. The bank wasn't too busy when we got there. There were only a few people in front of us.

I noticed the man in front of us. He was about average height with long shaggy dark hair that fell to his shoulders. It looked as if he'd forgotten to shave in the morning and his eyes were bloodshot. There were dark circles beneath his tired bloodshot eyes. I was worried he might fall asleep while standing up, he didn't look too good. The man standing next to him had long golden blonde hair that he had pulled back in a neat looking bun. While his dark somewhat surly looking counterpart seemed to be disheveled, the blonde looked neat and well kempt, his facial hair was trimmed and he looked much more approachable and awake than his friend.

"I can't believe you flunked an entire class of first years." The blonde was shaking his head at the surly looking man.

"They weren't going to cut it."

"How could you tell? You barely gave them a chance." The blonde retorted.

Two men wearing dark clothing got into line behind us and I felt a chill run down my spine. Unconsciously I took a step closer to Makoto and grabbed her arm. She looked down at me and her smile fell.

"Amy, are you okay?" She asked worried.

The two men in front of us turned around curiously and I felt my blood run cold as the men behind us reached forward pointing guns at the men in front of us. Makoto let out a yelp and held me tightly against her. More men in dark clothes appeared and I jumped as the doors that exited out onto the main street slammed shut.

"Nobody move!" A voice yelled from the back of the bank and a gunshot sounded, a warning shot fired into the air. A little bit of plaster fell from the ceiling where the bullet had hit.

Before anyone could do anything, I noticed one of the men behind us applying pressure to the trigger of his gun. My heart pounded in my chest as he pulled the trigger and I held my breath as I reflexively activated my quirk. The gun went off right next to my ear. There were screams echoing around the bank as everyone thought the surly looking man with the dark hair had just been shot. It was hard to hear anything over the ringing in my ears.

My body trembled in Makoto's arms. The bullet was frozen in mid-air. Makoto gasped as she realized what I'd done and held me tighter trying to shield me from everything. The dark-haired man cast a glance my way, his eyes growing wide.

"What the hell?" The man behind me who'd fired the gun stared flabbergasted at the bullet hovering in the air, still spiraling as if it were in motion but not going anywhere.

"Idiot! Why are you firing?!" The man who'd shouted before warning everyone not to move snarled at his colleague.

"These two are heroes." He pointed his gun at the two men in front of us.

The blonde man opened his mouth but his friend stopped him, "Hizashi, don't be an idiot there are too many innocents. If you act rashly they're liable to get hurt. Be patient and wait for the right moment." He was right, this had quickly turned into a hostage situation, save for us four all the other civilians had been rounded up by more men in dark clothing.

"Shoot them." The leader shrugged.

Two more men stepped forward with guns and fired at the two heroes. My quirk activated again freezing the bullets in midair.

"What the hell is going on? Who's doing this?!" One of the thugs snarled as the bullets fell to the ground.

"I think it's the little girl." A hand encircled my wrist and Makoto let out a scream as I was pulled away from her.

"Amy!" Makoto screamed but froze as a gun was pressed to her temple.

I found myself face to face with the thug leader and trembled as he glared down at me. Silently, I wished my dad were here as tears welled in my eyes. He would be able to save us. Dad, help! I need you!

The man's grip on my wrist tightened and I winced in pain. "Be a good little girl, and stay out of grown up matters and I won't hurt you or your friend." His grip tightened again and I felt something give and bit my lip to keep from crying out in pain.

"Hey! Hands off the kid!" The surly dark-haired man snarled.

Before anyone could do anything, I heard a thunderous voice from outside. "AMY!"

"Dad?!" I squeaked.

The next thing I knew there was a powerful blast of force that sent debris flying everywhere. The two heroes jumped into action the moment of the explosion of force and worked quickly to incapacitate the thugs and get all the civilian's out of harm's way. In the blink of an eye, the thug that had been threatening me was sent flying and I found myself wrapped in a familiar embrace.

"Dad." I choked and struggled to fight back tears.

"It's All Might!" The civilians cheered.

"D-Did she just say Dad?" One of the thugs lying on the ground nearby paled. "Oh no! We're all dead."

Makoto took me from Dad so he could stop the villains. With Dad and the two heroes working together they rounded up all the thugs in no time. Once all the danger was gone, I ran to him. He caught me in his arms and held me tight.

"Princess, are you alright?" He asked worried.

"I-I'm okay." I replied shakily.

The dark-haired hero approached us with a frown, "she should probably have her wrist looked at."

Dad held me at an arm's length away and looked down at my wrist as I tried to hide it. It really hurt a lot but I didn't want him to worry more than necessary. He still had to train with Midoriya, I didn't want to get in his way. My wrist was badly bruised and hurt to move. I was worried it was broken and was going to ask Makoto to take me to an urgent care after Dad had left, but I didn't want him to freak out. His eyes grew wide as he looked down at my bruised wrist.

Dad gave the dark-haired man a polite nod, "I appreciate it Aizawa, thanks for looking after Amy."

The tired looking man turned his gaze to me with a frown, "you've got it mixed up, All Might. She was looking after us." He stepped forward and I let out a squeak as he flicked me atop the head before reaching up to rub the now sore spot he'd hit with my good hand. "Though she acted recklessly without thinking and could have gotten herself killed had you not shown up."

I flinched at his words.

"Aizawa, you're freaking the kid out." The blonde hero sighed as he appeared behind me and gave me a pat on the head, "she saved us, you should be nicer."

"It was still dangerous." Aizawa shrugged.

Dad looked down at me curiously, "what happened?"

"She stopped bullets with her mind, it was insane!" The blonde hero grinned as he ruffled my hair.

"W-what?" Dad paled.

Oh no. He was never going to let me leave his sight ever again.

The blonde hero, oblivious to Dad's internal panicking gave me another pat on the head, "thanks for the assist, Princess Might. You'll make a great hero." He beamed.

Aizawa rolled his eyes, "Idiot, let's get back to work so All Might can take her to the hospital." He steered the blonde away.

Dad stopped panicking and smiled down at me proudly. "Ayumi was right, as always. You truly are amazing, Princess." He picked me up.

Makoto ran up to us in a panic. She kept apologizing frantically and no matter how much Dad tried to reassure her that it was alright and in no way her fault she still looked depressed when she reluctantly headed home.
