《Stoned is Angel's Grace》Elysian Fields Hotel

"So Castiel dies and goes weeping angel if I don't. But you still find the Bunker."
"And Dean still has the Mark."
"So we just go and pull Cas out of that room, and back the Hell away. I don't die, Cas doesn't die, and the timeline can be relatively the same," Gabriel says.
"But someone always has to die, either you or Cas, and Cas has helped us so much. Things would be so different if he wasn't around, not to mention Dean... Can we really save you both?" Sam ponders.
"Hell if I know... But it's worth a shot. If we go to wherever the Hell I die and pull my little bro out, then maybe we could be heroes." Gabriel states, Sam thinks for another moment.
"I don't know... Wait, what if we put someone else in that room? Nah, no one would go in... Maybe if we kill some of the Gods, then maybe no one else has to die?" Sam offers, "you want to kill the ones who took me in when my blood kicked me out?"
"You ran from your blood."
"True, but that doesn't matter now. What matters is pulling my ass and my brother's ass out of the fire," Gabriel remarks. "Anyway, let's go snag my bro, and we'll see what happens, alright?"
"Fine."
Gabriel draws a deep breath, "you know, being around all these weeping angels has put a hole in my Grace. Hey, we haven't seen stone me in a while, or any new notes. What's up with that?" Gabriel mentions, "perhaps this is the first time we're doing it this way. The other versions of us haven't lived this point, they went on another path," Sam responds. Gabriel nods and straightens his jacket (AN: That's the only thing about him that is straight).
"Ready to go be a hero?"
"We're just saving you and Castiel," Sam replies.
"Yeah, but saving people is quite heroic, don't cha think?"
"Yeah, yeah, whatever, let's just go," Sam responds with an eye roll.
They wing into Elysian Fields Hotel.
"Damn this place looks creepy, why the Hell did you ever think that this place was safe?" Gabriel questions, "I really have no idea," Sam answers. "I have to go play Loki, you look for Cas, I'll distract everyone else. Later Sampunzel," Gabriel vanishes, Sam glances around the lobby. Not a soul insight.
Sam draws a heavy breath and begins his search, making sure that he doesn't run into any unwanted company, and that is quite a lot of beings.
He hears shuffling round in the kitchen, if memory serves, there should be quite a lot of people in the freezer. Sam has half a mind to save them, but he knows that Dean'll pull some stunt and set them free.
He looks around, no longer sure about what he's really meant to be doing. Maybe he should look for a place to hide Castiel when he shows up.
Sam finds an open bedroom, he goes inside to investigate, there's no one there. He takes one quick glance around then shuts the door, he locks it and walks over to the bed. He flops on his back and sighs, he digs into his pocket and pulls out the feather. It's so beautiful and full of life and colour, hey, like Gabriel. Sam shoves the feather back in his pocket, he shuts his eyes and thinks about what's happened.

The past few weeks have been insane. First, a weeping angel stalks him and leaves little notes for him, then he's sent back to 2009. Second, he meets a pre-TV Land Trickster, and they team up to figure what the actual fuck is happening. Not to mention, Sam has relived that freaking mystery spot again AND TV Land again. Thirdly, he meets a mad man in a blue box named 'The Doctor' who knows all about these weeping angels. Fourth, he and Gabriel are still on a wild goose chase for answers, to find out that the very being they're trying to save is Gabriel himself. THEN Gabriel 'dies' and they find out that if they save Gabriel, Castiel dies. All the while, Sam was falling in love with-
Whoa, slow your horses! What's this about love? Pfffttt, no. Sam didn't love the Trickster... much. No! He doesn't love Gabriel, he's just his best friend and worth saving. Maybe he loves him like a friend? I don't know, Sam doesn't know. All that is known is that Sam and Gabriel are best friends.
"Oh hey, there you are, so Kali just stabbed me through the heart, but whatever. Has Cas showed up yet?" Gabriel pants lightly, "what did you do? Run here?" Sam retorts as he sits up, "no, I just rushed over here once everyone left that room. So, how's it been kiddo?"
"We were talking like 10, 20 minutes ago, not much has changed," Sam replies. "I think you and Dean-o are pulling some stunt, I'm going to hide in your car and wait it out, okay bye," Gabriel disappears.
Sam smiles fondly as he thinks about Gabriel. That psychotic little cutie. He was insane, yes. He liked to kill people in humorous ways, yes. He had a weird way of showing emotions and giving a crap, yes. But did Sam think he was great? Yes, the answer is yes. Sam loved every inch of that Trickster, in a friendly way of course. No love love was present. (AN: Sam's just lying to himself okay guys? He has a hard time with this shiz. God, it's like Dean and Castiel all over again.)
"I think we should head over to ground zero. Luci just showed up," Gabriel announces once he's back in the room. "Yeah, okay, let's go," Sam gets off the bed and they walk the halls until they find the one room (AN: to rule them all XD) that they're looking for. They stand just behind the door, listening in on what's happening.
"Cas hasn't shown up yet and Kali's getting her ass handed to her... Okay, she's dead... Lucifer just killed my ex-girlfriend," Gabriel commentates. "Shit Sam... Sam he's going for you... Oh, Cas is in there too," Gabriel snaps his fingers. "He's not any more," he smirks. "Okay, what's happening now?" Sam hisses, Gabriel watches on.
Lucifer grabs Sam.5's collar and tosses him across the room, he grabs Dean.5 and tosses him across the room.
"Okay Sam. How about you say yes to me, because that's what Mercury called me for. To get you to say yes," Lucifer.5 announces. "I won't say yes, I won't do it!" Sam.5 yells, "aww Sammy, Sammy, Sammy... You gullible little fool. You are always going to say yes, it can be today, or tomorrow or in a year from now... But you will say yes," Lucifer.5 smirks. "Even if that means I have to torture you," he adds. "You said you'd never hurt me! That you wouldn't lie, and you wouldn't hurt me," Sam.5 pleads. "I lied," Lucifer.5 replies icily.

Gabriel's heart races as he watches the scene. It's never happened like this before, he looks to Sam, a sadness in his eyes.
"Don't do it. Don't you fucking do it. I don't know what's happening in that room, but don't you fucking go in there. So help me Gabriel, don't fucking go in there," Sam demands. "I'm sorry, but it looks like it's my turn to save you," Gabriel responds. "Gabriel don't-" Sam's cut off. He looks around the Bunker in which he sits now. In Elysian Fields Hotel, five years ago, Gabriel stands facing Lucifer.
"Luci, I'm home."
———-
"Fuck, Gabriel, you idiot."
"Oh hello Sam," Castiel says behind Sam, startling him.
"Oh, hey Cas... Wait, can you take me back to 2009?"
"What? Why? I'm sorry Sam, but I can't. My Grace is too low to do time jumps, I couldn't even if I wanted to," Castiel explains. "Oh, right..." Sam sighs, he digs into his pocket and pulls out the feather, he goes and sits down at a table and plays with the feather.
"Hey Cas... What does it mean if you were to give someone a feather from your own wings?" Sam inquires, "well..." Castiel starts. "If an angel is to give a feather from their own wings to someone, then it means that there is no language in the universe that could describe that angel's love for that being," he explains. Sam stops playing with the feather, his eyes grow wide and his heart stops. Everything in the room seems to disappear except that feather.
"So... So what you're saying is that... Is that if an angel loves someone, they give them a feather?"
"Yes, but it's not just love. It's something that Disney films would refer to as 'True Love' I suppose. An angel giving someone a feather is not to be taken lightly... Why do you ask?" Castiel responds, "because..." Sam turns and faces Castiel, he holds the feather to his face. "Because Gabriel gave me this feather. He showed me his wings and plucked this very feather right before my eyes, Cas. That's why I was asking," Sam answers. Castiel's eyes go wide, then return to normal size.
"When did he give it to you? Because it should have-"
"Turned to ash when he died, yeah I know. You want to know where I've been for the past few weeks? I've been running around with Gabriel, trying to save Gabriel... Back in 2009, so that version gave me this... Meaning that version isn't dead! Cas, there's time! Wait..." Sam digs in his pocket for his phone, he quickly dials the Doctor's number.
"Come on, come on, come on. Please pick up, you always said you would, Doctor please," Sam stares at the feather in his hands, willing it to remain how it is. Sam turns back to fully face the table, he clutches the feather in his hand as he waits. The Doctor doesn't answer.
"Come on Doctor! You promised!" He yells, he dials again and again and again, but the result is the same. There is no response.
"Please Gabriel, get out of this alive," Sam whispers.
"Sam... Do you... Do you love Gabriel?" Castiel asks with a quiet but demanding voice. The question catches Sam off guard, he turns to face Castiel.
"Well I... I don't know- I just... I don't know okay? All I know is that I have to save his sorry ass-"
Sam turns to look at the feather, he opens his hand to watch it, to watch it turn to ash.
"Wha- no! No! Nononononono! Please Gabriel no, don't be dead! Just be a trick, be a trick, be a trick..." Tears form in Sam's eyes as he stares at the pile of ash resting in his palm. "Just be a trick, pull a miracle, a trick. Just don't be dead... please don't be..." He can't speak any more, his tears stream down his face at an alarming rate, he can only sob. Castiel stands awkwardly behind him, he gingerly walks over to Sam and places hand on his back as a comfort. Sam cries harder as he clutches the ash in his hands, he's too late. Now he knows he truly did fail.
"Gabriel please... Just don't be dead, for me... Don't be dead," Sam whispers. (AN: You know what I'm thinking? John at Sherlock's grave.)
Castiel pets Sam, who just keeps sobbing. Sam draws a deep and sharp breath, "he's my best friend. Fuck, I didn't know him, and now I do and I just... Fuck, I love him... I love him Cas, now he's gone and it's all my fault. I should have stopped him or something..." Sam starts crying again.
"Look Sam, there's nothing you could have done. Gabriel has always been set in his ways, you could never have changed his mind, even if you had all the time in the world... Wait, I was about to face Lucifer in that hotel... Was it you two who teleported me out of there?"
Sam nods.
"Oh... He saw what lucifer was going to do to you, so he went in, because, well... Feather," Castiel says. Castiel takes his hand off Sam's back and he sits down, Dean enters the room.
"Whoa, Cas, what happened to Sam?"
"The love of his life died," Castiel responds, Dean gives him a look.
"And who would that be...?"
"Gabriel."
"Okay, what?"
"I'll explain later," Castiel replies.
There's a sudden thud in the room, everyone looks up to see the stone angel.
"G-Gabriel?" Sam questions, the non-threatening stance confirming that it is in fact, weeping angel Gabriel.
Sam stands up and walks to the stone angel, he just stares at it, not able to say anything. New tears form in his eyes and he hugs the stone, Castiel and Dean stand awkwardly and unsure.
"You fucking idiot," Sam whispers. "You got yourself killed, you fucking idiot."

These are played to the horrors such things are, and are treated with the seriousness and aftereffects it would cause. I like progression stories and I've always wanted to try and write one like a few of the web novels that inspired me. The Game Lit aspects will be more in the background, with focus on other details like dungeons, monsters, loot, morality, and so on. There will be focus on various kinds of progression. Wild Steam
Get on a train. Head east. Get on a ship. Travel further east, in style. See some wonders of the world. Find what was lost. Find where home is. How hard is any of that?Well, for Jake Ranger, pretty damned hard. The world being a wild, crazy mess from a global altering event called the Shattering doesn’t help much. Nor does being a famous folk hero. That last one really sucks, because people always run up to famous heroes and beg them for help with all their problems. Then there are the actual outlaws and monsters. They don’t help much either. Mostly they just get in the way and make everything way worse. And in a world that is so screwed up decades after the Shattering, there is a lot of variety to both outlaw and monster. Then there are the more civilized, (read: sane), non-human folk, and good old humans as well. They all get along just spectacularly. Totally best friends, on every level, for life. Of course getting to the east coast is only half the battle. Once there, he must contend with the so-called “civilized people.” Then there’s the ship ride; pirates and sea monsters are a thing too, after all. Should have read the brochure. But when the chips are down, the bad guys are winning and the wild winds of chaos are blowing, it helps to have a fighter on your side. Even if he is a little wild. After all, that’s not really a problem. That’s what beautiful women and lots of gold is for. Proper motivation is always key to success.
