face to the glass window. jeongguk glanced at her and chuckled. "you realise the store attendants can see you, don't you?" he pushed his hands into his pockets. she turned her head, palms still pressed to the glass. "and?"
they stood in front of a jewellery store. summer stared in and jeongguk stared at her. she had suddenly stopped in the middle of their walk to get her one of those cute polaroid cameras only to peek in. it had been a few minutes and he'd stopped recording her. now, he was just worried the people in the store would think they were casing out the place for a later heist.
he sighed, shaking his head. "how long are you going to do this for?" he asked softly as her gaze moved back to the store. "until i find the one." she simply replied. "and when you do? are you going to buy it?"
she looked up at him like he'd grown a second head. "i'd have to give all my limbs to even get one earring here. of course not." she was back to staring at the stones of varying colours, shapes and sizes. "i'll just dream about it."
jeongguk's right brow went up. she seemed to notice his expression, glancing at him. "what? i'll just picture my life with it. what i'd wear it with. where i'd wear it to. kind of like audrey hepburn in breakfast at tiffany's." she smiled, sparkling eyes back in the store. a small gasp left her lips and she pointed in. "i've found it! i've found the one!" summer let out excitedly.
curious, he looked in to where she was pointing. his eyes fell on a ruby teardrop necklace. it was perfectly laid on a blue velvet bed that seemed to bring out the beauty of the red stone glowing in the lighting the store provided.

her smile was so large, eyes sparkling almost like the precious stone she was admiring. "isn't it gorgeous?" she sighed, voice dreamy. "yeah," jeongguk's voice was like the whisper of the sea breeze, eyes focused on only her.
summer straightened, fluffing her hair. he watched her intensely, taking in her every movement. the bounce of her butter hair. the flutter of long thick lashes. the curve of full peach coloured lips. the crinkling of her button nose. small hands pulling at her pastel blue top. the way her chest rose and fell in rhythmic, almost deliberate breaths.
jeongguk tried to picture the ruby laying on her chest, glistening in the sun along with her skin. he blinked slowly, realising how beautiful it would look on her. the ruby wouldn't make her more beautiful. she would be the one making it look good.
that was just the sort of effect summer seemed to have on everything. it was inexplicable really. but jeongguk would swear by it. summer made everything appear brighter. even him. especially him.
"c'mon, let's get going. we still have places to go." she reached for his hand, wrapping hers around his significantly larger one. glancing down, he laced his fingers through hers.
she picked up her pace and he stopped moving, digging his heels into the ground. summer turned to him, brows raised in question. "no running. not again." his tone was serious, eyes matching his words. she sighed, rolling her eyes. "okay."
the corners of his eyes crinkled as his face softened in a smile. she reciprocated the action, her entire face glowing. they began to move once again.
"you think i can get one like jimin's? we could even match." she chimed, glancing up at him. "why would you want to match with him and not me?" he frowned. "do you have a polaroid camera i don't know about?" she countered, eyes blinking.

he pouted in reply, adjusting the strap of the bag that held his camera on his shoulder. she chuckled at his expression, reaching up to pull his cheek. "cute baby." she remarked.
"i'm not a baby." he let out in a whiny voice. "i know but you're still cute." she grinned. the tips of his ears went red as warmth shot through him. summer noticed, throwing her free hand over her mouth to hide her chuckle.
jeongguk's eyes met hers softly, his heart beating just a little bit faster like an orchestra reaching crescendo poco a poco. and in that moment, he knew. he knew he was falling for those eyes of brown topaz.
