《Junoesque ✿George Weasley✿》50.

A flare sparked in Blair's stomach and she grumbled, the smirk on George's face making her want to knock him off his broom. It was now her time to show what she could do and give the Weasleys what they had been waiting for.
The quaffle headed back to the middle and Blair prepared her form, leaning low over her broom as she eyed the three Chasers of the Gryffindor team. Angelina, Katie and Alicia were all nice girls (even with the slight unnecessary hatred for Alicia because of last year's dance classes) and Blair wasn't intending to play dirty with them. However, she wanted to make sure that they didn't even touch the quaffle for the rest of the game. Blair was going to take charge and just pray that Anthony and Roger understood what she was doing and back her up. Taking one last glance towards George who hung back near the Keeper, the flare inside of her flickered when he sent her a sly wink.
Shooting forward, Blair clasped the quaffle and took it under her arm. She weaved around Angelina and ducked under Alicia, aware that Katie was close on her tail. She heard the sound of a bludger heading from above and pulled a sharp turn, making the bludger skim past Katie's shoulder and disorientate her momentarily.
"Rosier's heading for the goals!" Lee cried. "Goldstein and Davies are close by. Will she pass the quaffle or try her luck solo?"
Dodging the other bludger that was wacked her way by George, she reared her arm back and threw the quaffle towards the middle hoop. The Keeper had been distracted by Anthony who was offering to take the shot, allowing Blair to score near unchallenged.
"And Ravenclaw scores!" Lee tried to sound excited but was obviously bummed for his team.
Blair tried not to appear too happy and turned around from the goals, heading back to the middle with the rest of her team. She passed the Gryffindor Chasers and saw Harry flying around with Cho hot on his tail, the two searching everywhere for the tiny golden ball. They didn't need to find the snitch yet as the scores were still low, but Blair hoped that Cho could pull through when they needed it the most. Pulling her gaze from the Seekers, Blair turned and saw that Fred and George were sitting on their brooms up head with their arms crossed. Both of their right legs were hanging off, showing their incredible balance and show-off antics. But the smirks that usually donned their faces had fallen away and showed unimpressed looks, making Blair feel even better about her goal.
"What's with the frowns, boys?" she innocently asked, passing through the space they left between each other.
"You planned this," Fred hissed back, him and his brother looking over their shoulders at her. "You wanted us to think you sucked."
"Hey now, that wouldn't be very nice of me," she feigned offence before looking at George specifically, giving him her most angelic smile. "And if you keep thinking so badly of me, I think you'll find there will be no hair pulling tonight."
"What is she talk- oh ewwww," Fred cringed once Blair had flown back to middle. He saw George's fallen jaw and rosy cheeks and Fred chose to fly off to the other side of the pitch, not wanting to be anywhere near the sinful brother of his.
George regained his sense quickly once the quaffle had been thrown again and Blair had somehow gotten a hold of it once more. He saw her toss it to Roger, leaving him to weave through the Chasers and nearly knock Fred off of his broom. Roger then threw it over Alicia's head to Blair and she headed for the goals again. George gripped his Beater's bat and headed for the bludger that had been initially aimed at Cho. He stopped it in its path and diverted it towards Blair, following after it in case it were to move off course.

"I see tension between Weasley and Rosier!" Lee mentioned and the stadium's attention turned to the two. "Hopefully this won't dampen their relationship! But what can really come between a good game of Quiddit-"
"Jordan, I don't remember this being a dating show," Professor McGonagall spoke up, her lips pinched together.
"Sorry Professor..."
Lee's commentating gave Blair the advantage and she started to zigzag across the pitch, hoping the bludger will lose her among the other players and the other balls flying around. George was amused at her technique and followed her, bringing his bat down to give the bludger another nudge. It was just as Blair threw the quaffle towards the goals that the bludger collided with it, sending it in the opposite direction of the goals and right into Katie's arms.
"A brilliant deflection from Weasley there! Bell heads for the goals with Goldstein hot on her tail!" Lee cheered, desperately wanting to comment more on Blair and George's feud.
As the game continued on the other side of the pitch, Blair pulled her broom to a stop and glared harshly towards her boyfriend. George swung his bat in a circle with a satisfied grin on his face and lowered down to be next to Blair, rolling in glee from the ferocity in her eyes. He knew what he did and he was proud that he did it.
"Are you going to be like that every time you lose the ball?" George teased.
"I will if you keep targeting me like that," she seethed.
"It's a game, sweetheart. I'm only playing by the rules."
For the rest of the game, there was hot tension between the Chaser and Beater. It seemed that the rest of the players were irrelevant and that the winner would only to be determined by either Blair or George. They glared at each other in between goals and even flipped each other off when deceived. Blair would make it look she was being thrown the ball but would then soar upwards so that the ball would land in another Chaser's hand, making it hard for George to stop his broom from zooming forward and heading for her by mistake. George would continuously hit bludgers her way and choose the worst of times to fly in front of her, forcing her to stop and lose potential goal opportunities.
The scores were now tied and the next goal would be the deal breaker. Harry and Cho had been following the snitch for two minutes now, trying to leave time for their teams to score and finish the game. The crowd in the stands were becoming restless and were desperate for a win, cheering for the Chasers to step up their game and get in front.
Angelina had possession of the quaffle and was trying to be stopped by the Ravenclaw Beaters. Anthony and Roger was gaining on her and two bludgers had been sent her way, but the Weasleys had somehow deflected both of them. Roger and Anthony were falling behind and it was left to Blair, who swerved into sight and planned to knock the ball out of Angelina's grip. Putting all her strength and aim into her arm, Blair flew parallel to Angelina and went to knock it out of her hand, only to be knocked to the right with a strong pain in her head.
"Roiser's been hit by Weasley! The first injury of the game and it's by Rosier's boyfriend!" Lee gasped into the microphone. "But Angelina heads for the goals still! And she scores! Potter needs the snitch now and that'll be the game! Come on, Harry!"

The faint noise of Gryffindors cheering blurred in Blair's ears as her broom lowered her to the ground. Her figure was wobbling dangerously as the pain in her head from the bludger had shot from her eardrum and throughout her entire being. She had been hit by bludgers before but never in the head and with such power and strength. It was only now did she know about George's talent when it came to being a Beater.
"And Potter catches the snitch! Gryffindor wins!"
The stands cheered and jumped up and down for the Gryffindor team. The Ravenclaws deflated and sunk down to the pitch, busying themselves from the loss with their Chaser who was slowly getting off her broom with a pale complexion. Blair felt the sudden urge to be sick and her feet barely kept her standing when they touched the ground. While the Gryffindor team celebrated in the middle of the greenery with their fans from the stands, her fellow Ravenclaws rushed over to her.
"Merlin, Blair! That was some hit you took! I saw your neck basically snap from that bludger!" Roger exclaimed as he stopped in front of her, telling Cho to grab Blair's broom from its levitating state.
"You don't look so well, Blair," Cho mentioned with concerned eyes. "I think you should go to the hospital wing."
"I-I'm fine," her voice was wobbly from the growing feeling of sick in her stomach. "I just need to lie down..."
"Blair! Are you okay?! I didn't mean to get you in the head! I'm so sorry!"
Blair looked up and her team parted for the tall redhead that ran across the pitch. From his worried tone, Blair guessed it was George as she could barely make out his features. The hit to her head had been so hard that the ends of her vision had blackened and the sights she could see were fuzzy. The bright red robes that donned George's figure stood out in the fuzziness and if she hadn't been near a fainting state, she would have started to yell at him for how dangerous he was playing and how annoying he was for the whole match.
"Some boyfriend you are, Weasley. You could have killed her!" Nancy appeared with her Ravenclaw scarf around her neck. She grabbed Blair's head gently and turned it to the side, looking for the drop of blood that would send the entire team berserk on George. He gulped at her pale face and wished that he hadn't become so competitive during the game. He had been watching Blair before the final goal and saw that she was going to snatch the quaffle and score, making him act impulsively and slam the bludger towards her. But it had veered off from the place it was meant to hit on her arm to her ear, George's heart leaping into his stomach in the process.
"That's a bit dramatic, isn't it? People get hit in the head with bludgers all the time!" Fred appeared next to his brother. He rolled his eyes at Nancy's fussing and turned to George, raising an eyebrow. "We're partying tonight in the common room. Let's head to the kitchens to grab some food."
"Oh no you don't!" Poppy intervened, making their ginger heads turn to the Ravenclaw. "As punishment for nearly killing Blair, you're taking her to the hospital wing. And if she's got a concussion, you're taking care of her for the day. This is your fault, Weasley!"
"S-She's kinda right, Freddie," George winced, stepping back from the scary girl that glared up at him with eyes like a dragon. "I-I should take care of Blair..."
"Uh, you and your chivalry," Fred rolled his eyes but deep down, understood and agreed with his brother. Blair did look ghostly pale with a green tinge to her and was starting to lose her footing, leaning against Mina and putting the Quidditch team into a state of panic. "See you later if you do wanna drop in. Bye Raviesclawsies."
Fred gave a wiggle of his fingers before heading back to the Gryffindor team that were starting to depart for the exit of the stadium. The Ravenclaws pushed George towards Blair and made sure to watch him guide her up to the castle. He kept his arm around her waist and gripped her hip with his gloved hand, putting his other hand against her forehead to feel for a fever. Blair mumbled something incoherent and he shushed her gently, saying that she'd be alright once Madam Pomfrey got to her.
Wobbling into the hospital wing, Madam Pomfrey poked her head out from her office and sucked in a breath of air at the sight of Blair's white skin. George looked worriedly up from his girlfriend and gave the woman a pleading look, keeping Blair hiked up against his side.
"Did this girl get beaten repeatedly?!" Pomfrey cried and took her from George's hold, lowering her on to a bed and asking for an explanation from George.
"U-Uh something like that," he scratched the back of his head and she pottered off, grabbing a potion from her tray-on-wheels.
"This'll stop her feeling ill," Pomfrey announced and propped Blair up against the pillow, making the girl groan but take the bottle that was pressed to her lips. "But now, all she can do is sleep off the dizziness. She'll have a headache so get her to take this. For now, she'll be fine."
George took the other bottle given to him before slipping his arms around Blair, lifting her from the bed and carrying her out of the hospital wing. Madam Pomfrey shook her head at the two before bustling back to her office. George stayed silent in order to give Blair some peace and headed for the Ravenclaw tower. He climbed the spiral staircase and continuously glanced down at Blair, seeing her eyelids low but her skin was thankfully lively again.
Considering the fact that George was a boy, he didn't try his luck with getting up to Blair's dormitory. He was sure she wouldn't appreciate being dropped on to a slide and arrive back in the common room once more. He decided to lie her down on the sofa in front of the fireplace before sitting down on the rug beside her, putting his hand against her forehead and was relieved to feel it at a normal temperature.
"Thank you for staying with me," Blair whispered through her lidded eyes. "I know you didn't want to..."
"No, I wanted to," he shook his head with a small smile. "Even though we did win."
"Did you? I don't remember that... what were we playing again?"
George gulped but relaxed when he saw a small smile on Blair's face.
