Mina told Blair that the first Ravenclaw Quidditch practice would be held on Friday evening. The first practice would be tryouts for those wanting to take the spaces free in the team, before then going on to whatever Roger Davies, the Ravenclaw captain, had planned. Blair was excited to get back into the swing of Quidditch and start competing again, as she had the feeling she wouldn't be playing it again after leaving Hogwarts. Unless she would become a professional Quidditch player, and that was unlikely, she'd probably sell her broom to some other aspiring player to use.
After dinner in the Great Hall, Blair retired to the Ravenclaw common room and was dreading her first patrol as Head Girl. She had been instructed by Professor Flitwick to head towards Dumbledore's office once curfew had commenced to receive the information she and the Head Boy would need to complete their patrol for the night. She hoped that Professor Dumbledore would see her pleading eyes and decide to split her and Fletcher up, giving them different sections to patrol for the night. But she had heard that was highly unlikely, as the point of being in the positions of Head Boy and Girl was to work as a team and show initiative.
"Watch out for Peeves. He's heard about you and Potts being given Head Girl and Boy," Poppy warned while lounging in the common room, fifteen minutes before the start of curfew.
"Do you get tomorrow's first period off at least?" Nancy questioned. "I'm sure you'll be exhausted."
"I have a free period anyway because I dropped Divination anyway," she answered. "But if I didn't, we don't get any lee way."
"That sucks. What's the point, then? To tell your future employer 'I used to be Head Girl back in high school!'?" Poppy shook her head with a sigh. The job did sound like quite the gimmick and Blair still wasn't sure why she was chosen in the first place. She was too afraid to question Professor Dumbledore but she was sure Fletcher would find it within himself to doubt the man soon enough.
"You better start heading off," Mina gestured her head towards the exit of the common room. "Don't want to be late for your night of agony."
Blair sighed and stood from the armchair, ensuring her badge was pinned to her robes as she bid the three goodnight while heading towards the hallway. She exited the common room and made her way down the spiral staircase, which was only lit by the torches lining the wall that descended down to the floor. She had half a mind to bring Jasper along in hopes of having someone to distract her from the boy who was bound to be pain in the neck throughout the whole night, but she thought that might not sit well with Professor Dumbledore on her first night of patrolling. Plus, she wasn't sure if Jasper got along with Mrs Norris or not.
Heading along the corridors, her mind drifted back to yesterday before leaving on the Hogwarts Express. She remembered the warm farewell she received from Mrs Weasley when she and the twins appeared on the platform and the merry wave she gave not only the Weasley, but Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks. The image of the two Order members made Blair think of the Order of the Phoenix and their surveillance of anything that could be a sign of You Know Who's appearance. She was yearning to know more about what was going on inside the Ministry to cause the cover up of the events and what sort of missions the Order have been doing in order to keep those who were oblivious safe and unharmed. It sounded amazing to be doing things that actually mattered in the Wizarding world and not being stuck at Hogwarts reading Ministry-approved children's books all day.

"I've never seen you so thoughtful before, Rosier," she was pulled harshly from her thoughts by Fletcher's obnoxious voice entering through her ears. The thoughts of the Order and things that were important suddenly swirled together in her mind and faded, only leaving irritation and the returning dread she felt for having to spend the night with the smirking Slytherin.
"You're never happy to see anyone, are you?" he teased again as she pulled an obvious frown at the sight of him. She hadn't realised that she had made it to the gargoyle that sat in front of Dumbledore's office.
"That's not true," she fought back and turned to face the gargoyle, speaking the password and watching it jump to the side and let them through.
"Oh right, of course not," Fletcher continued while walking up the stairs behind her. "You're dating George Weasley, aren't you? I'm sure you're happy to see that blood traitor all the time."
"Don't call him that," she snapped back and he only smirked wider.
"He is, though. Him and his whole family of redheads. I don't know how you can stand them. Us purebloods need to stick together," he continued, causing Blair to clench her fist and breathe in deeply to stop herself from smacking his teeth out of his mouth.
"Good evening Miss Rosier, Mr Potts," Professor Dumbledore's voice caused them to raise their heads and see the man standing in front of his desk with his hands clasped together. He wore his friendly smile and had heard the conversation that had been leading up the staircase, but said nothing as they stopped in front of him. He could see that Blair was relieved to see him and sent her a twinkle in his eyes, before launching into his instructions.
"For tonight, I want the two of you to patrol around the houses' dormitories. These areas will also cover the lavatories and the classrooms nearby. I'm sure it'll be enough for your first night," he nodded to them with his smile plastered on his lips. "Now Mr Potts, I'd like you to patrol the Slytherin and the Hufflepuff dormitories."
"B-But sir, those are on complete opposite sides of castle!" he interrupted with his voice high-pitched and accusing.
"I'm aware of that, Mr Potts. And you can't possibly leave one dormitory unattended for long periods of time. You'll have to keep a constant eye on both, I'm afraid," Dumbledore soothed, the twinkle in his eye only visible to Blair.
She was holding in her triumphant laugh at the sight of Fletcher's open mouth and fuming eyes. It was at least a ten minute run from the Hufflepuff dormitories near the kitchens to the Slytherin common room in the dungeons. And if Fletcher were to try and cheat by staying in one area for half the night and in another for the other half, he could miss all of the out-of-bed students and Peeves's havoc in the abandoned area.
"Well what are we supposed to do if we actually catch someone in the corridors?" Fletcher asked with his voice laced with irritation and disbelief.
"I think I will leave that up to you two," Dumbledore answered. "I'm an old man. You probably won't be able to wake me even if you sent an erumpent into my room."

Fletcher liked the sound of his own punishments being accepted for the night and turned on his heels, already heading out of the office to start his lengthy patrol. Blair was unsure if Dumbledore knew what he had just let Fletcher unleash on the poor students that may have woken up to head to the bathroom. She watched the boy leave before turning back to the Headmaster, who still watched the staircase with Fletcher's shadow eventually disappearing on it's wall.
"Sir, do you think it's wise to let Potts do what he likes?" Blair asked and the Professor's gaze turned to her.
"Of course not. That's why I have instructed Peeves to have a jolly time in Professor Snape's classroom, tonight. Mr Potts will be spending too much of his time trying to keep the Poltergeist under control to punish those few wanderers tonight. I've also given the Hufflepuff Prefects the patrol tonight as well, so the area shall be well covered in his absence."
Blair was astonished to hear of the Professor's barmy explanation. She wondered why he had even chosen Fletcher to be Head Boy in the first place. But then again, if his explanation was as barmy as this, he was bound to have no logic to his decision anyway. The way he smiled warmly down at her made her thankful for his decision to separate her and Fletcher for their patrols, but still question the man's sanitary.
"Off you go, then!" he cheered with a 'shoo' motion of his hands.

Heading towards the Gryffindor common room, Blair had already caught a Ravenclaw and a Gryffindor out of their beds and wandering the halls. She had taken their dressing gowns from these students and sent them back to their respected places shivering and muttering about being cold. She thought it was a harmless yet a suitable punishment for being out of bed, but couldn't find it in her heart to keep the dressing gowns in her possession forever. She tapped her wand against the two gowns to appear in the Ravenclaw and Gryffindor common room. Only after they had disappeared, she wasn't sure if she had sent the right ones to their right rooms. She shrugged and thought it could be a part of their punishment.
Everything seemed normal for the first half of the patrol. She had gotten a good amount of exercise in too for walking back and forth between the Gryffindor and Ravenclaw areas, checking around corridors and shooing away the ghosts that were trying to slip through the Fat Lady portrait and the eagle doorknocker to bother the sleeping students.
She had just finished a circuit around the Ravenclaw tower and was heading towards the Gryffindor one, only to hear the sound of scuffing feet down the next corridor. She stopped in her tracks and peered her head around the wall, seeing a figure levitating something with their wand up into the arches of the ceiling. Blair was confused at first and narrowed her eyes, hoping to spot any distinctive features to identify the person. It couldn't have been a Professor and it certainly wasn't a ghost, as she was sure she couldn't see through this person. But she soon saw the unmistakable red hair and lanky frame, paired with what looked like paint balls that only held the colours red and gold to represent the Gryffindor house.
"What are you doing?!" she called out and jumped out from behind the wall, startling the Weasley and causing him to whip around. The paintball that had been levitating in the air lost its concentration and fell back towards the floor, exploding at the impact and spraying its bright contents across the floor and up on to the walls of the corridor. Blair's jaw dropped as the shiny tiles were completely covered in a mixture of gold and red, the balls of paint already sitting in the arches of the ceiling safe but watching from above at what would soon be their same fate.
"That was your fault," Fred said as he pointed at the mess that sat behind him, trying to appear innocent.
---
"Who were you aiming to hit, exactly?"
"Anyone that wasn't a Gryffindor."
Fred was on his hands and knees scrubbing at the paint that wouldn't come out of the tiled floor. Blair had taken away his wand and found him a bucket of water and a brush to get to work on cleaning up his mess. She refused to let him leave until every part of the corridor was clean and all of the paint-balls that were sitting up in the ceiling were taken down and destroyed. Not only was Fred out of bed at eleven o'clock at night, he was setting up a prank that would make multiple people passing very unhappy. The corridor was used largely for getting from the Ravenclaw dormitory to the Great Hall and getting to the Astronomy tower for classes. Someone was bound to be hit by Fred's 'hilarious' prank and doused in the colours of the Gryffindor house. He deserved a punishment and Blair was happy to give him one. He wasn't in his pajamas so she couldn't have taken his dressing gown and left him cold for night, but she could give him the duty of cleaning up what he had made.
"Did George know you were planning this?" Blair asked and she could hear Fred sigh.
"No, you're boyfriend wasn't involved in this. You'll only have to punish me, but you love doing that, don't you?" his tone was harsh and it made Blair push off from the wall she was leaning against.
"I don't like punishing you, Fred. You did this," she pointed down at the puddle with a raised eyebrow.
"Yeah, whatever..." he trailed off after his mumble and turned back to his scrubbing, pushing the brush back and forth fiercely and with a few grunts leaving his mouth.
