《Junoesque ✿George Weasley✿》21.

The second task began with Harry, Cedric, Viktor and Fleur leaping into the freezing water of the Black Lake. They apparently had to retrieve something that had been taken from them over night. An hour was set on the large clock that was hovering next to the stand that was occupied by Professor Dumbledore, Ludo Bagman and Barty Crouch. If the champions didn't retrieve the 'stolen' treasures within the hour, they would be stuck at the bottom of the lake forever.

"We have to stand here for an hour?" Fred groaned when the champions disappeared and the three stands in the water started to chat among themselves. "This is well boring."

"It's not always going to be action and dragons, Fred," Ginny sassed and Fred pushed her head gently to tell her to stop talking. She yelped and started to swat at her older brother, initiating the two into a harmless pushing fight.

George stood quietly behind Blair as she gazed over the rough waves that rippled the lake. She had caught a glimpse of the first year Hufflepuff that George jinxed into the water as he walk past them a few moments ago. He had a blanket around his shoulders and was shivering as his friends gathered around him for support. Professor Sprout, their head of house, started to fuss over him and ask who would do such a thing. The boy glanced over his shoulder and met eyes with Blair and George, shrinking back when the Weasley glared back to dare him to say anything.

"W-We were being stupid," the boy stuttered as he turned his head away from George's daring gaze. "I-It was my fault."

"Damn right it was," George mumbled while turning back to the front, only to see Blair looking over shoulder at him with a glare. "What?"

"It was very mean of you," she started and he resisted the urge to roll his eyes dramatically. "What if the Giant Squid decided to-"

"Shhhhhh," George shushed as he wrapped his arms around her entire head and muffled her voice with the sleeve of his coat. "You talk too much."

"Gmph emph of mmph!" she tried to cry but he only squeezed her against his front, silencing her pleas for help. Blair flared her arms around in hopes of finding someone to hold on to in order to pull herself away from George, but only found the metal bar that was part of the barrier.

George's smuggling soon came to an end when his arm came in contact with the large gem that was sitting against Blair's collarbones. He pulled his arms away from her face, making her sigh out of relief, and feel for the chain that he knew was somewhere around her neck. He pulled the purple rock out from under her coat and raised his eyebrows at the sight of it.

"You're still wearing it?" he questioned and leaned over her shoulder to look at her directly.

"Yeah? Am I... not supposed to be?" she said back.

"No, you can wear it all the time if you want. It's just..." George didn't finish while looking down at her adoringly. He thought that Blair would wear the necklace once for the ball but then stow it away somewhere as just another piece of jewellery. But if he had been paying closer attention, he would have seen that Blair has been wearing it every single day since the ball.

To be truthful, Blair found it beautiful against her skin and usual aesthetic. Her constant black attire needed a little bit of colour and the amethysts' lilac shimmer was enough to bring her look together no matter what the outfit. It even went with her school uniform which was only centred on black and royal blue. But it wasn't just how the gem looked; it was its significance that Blair loved as well.

She had never been the one to receive gifts. Christmas and birthdays were never filled with surprises and wrapped presents. In fact, she couldn't remember the last time someone had bought something for her. Whether it is just a packet of Fizzing Whisbees, she hadn't had a close enough friendship with someone to receive a spontaneous gift. So when George spent his money and spared the thought to buy something for her, she held on to it as if it was her life source. It reminded her of George and was the initiation into the dating status for the two of them. It was special. More special than anything she ever owned.

"I'm bored," Fred spoke up and brought Blair out of her daydream. "What are we actually supposed do for the next fifty minutes?"

"I can think of something," George intervened and lowered his face down to Blair's, a playful grin on his lips. Blair did the same and stood on her toes to lock lips with George, only for Fred and Ginny to groan next to them.

"Well we can't all do that," Fred sneered. "And do you have to do that here?"

"You were the ones who have been wanting this the most out of any of us!" Blair fought back and Ginny and Fred glared collectively down at her.

"I know for a fact that it not true," Ginny glanced at George and the boy blushed into a tomato.

"Yeah, you have no idea how many times Georgie insisted that he was waiting for the right time. But I knew full well that he was basically gasping to snog the living daylights out of you-"

"Alright Fred, I think you've said quite enough for today," George cut in. "I can see that we are not wanted here. Come on, Blair."

George didn't wait for a reply and started shuffling in the opposite direction with Blair still in front of him. Fred and Ginny grumbled to each other while Blair and George found another place at the front where they wouldn't be talked to by George's nosy siblings. It seemed that the novelty of them finally getting together had worn off in an extremely short space of time. At one stage, Fred and Ginny were their biggest supports and wouldn't let them be away from each other. But barely two months later, they were always complaining about the two's closeness. George assumed that they didn't think about what he was actually getting into. Fred especially thought that he'd still have all of his brother's attention regardless of the new and fresh relationship with Blair.

"Is what they said true?" Blair asked once they had settled into another spot overlooking the lake.

"Which part?"

"The part where you 'wanted to snog the living daylights out of me'?" Blair used her fingers as quotation marks when saying Fred's exact words. She watched as George's ears changed colour and glow a bright red.

"U-Uh well," he started but couldn't stop stuttering for the rest of his attempted sentences. "F-Freddie exaggerated it a l-little bit. I would never talk about you l-like that in that w-way. I mean, unless y-you want to-"

Blair cut him off by veering around and slapping the palms of her hands against his cheeks and smashing her lips against his. George stumbled momentarily but was quick to realise what was happening, resulting in him wrapping his arms entirely around Blair's petite waist. They didn't care if the people around them were watching as they engaged in their first passionate snog. Their other kisses had only been light and gentle, heeding towards George's motto of finding the correct times for certain styles of kissing. He wouldn't have picked now for this type of kiss, but he sure as hell wasn't going to pull away and reject Blair's sudden dominance.

Blair was the one who ran her tongue along George's bottom lip and started the euphoric lip-locking. George opened his mouth but didn't let her slip her tongue inside like you would when asking for entrance in a kiss. He slipped his tongue out instead and slid it into Blair's mouth, making her melt against his body and go weak in the knees.

After a while, they both pulled away simultaneously and left a string of wetness between each others lips. Blair dropped down to the soles of her feet as she had been standing on her toes in order to reach George's height. They stared at each other while being short of breath and kept their arms around each other.

"You know, for someone who only reads books and is good at potions, you snog very well," George noted. "I suppose I was wrong about waiting for the right time, huh?"

"Definitely," she replied and placed a sweet peck on to his lips. She then turned back around to face the front with a prideful smile on her lips. She thought she would regret being so bold and jumping in for such a passionate kiss, but the buzz that she got from the action was enough to make her want to do it three times over.

"You really are something, Rosier," George commented, his lips pressing against Blair's temple and snuggling his arms around her middle. The two were content with each other and were able to spend the rest of the second task cuddling and occasionally snogging when appropriate (which was now anytime for them).

The task soon came to an end when the champions all resurfaced with their stolen items. The items were in fact their closest friends/relatives that were currently on school grounds. So Cedric rescued Cho Chang (as they were now boyfriend and girlfriend), Fleur failed to rescue her younger sister Gabrielle, but Harry was chivalrous enough to not only rescue Ron but the girl as well. And Viktor rescued Hermione, which was a bit of a shock to everyone.

"Even though Viktor Krum rescued Miss Granger in second place-" Professor Dumbledore spoke loudly into his wand, making the stands fall silent to listen. "-he was not able to successfully transfigure himself into a shark in order to breath under water. This failure of the spell will set him back greatly and will need some further deliberation among the judges."

"Karkaroff isn't too chuffed about that," George mentioned into Blair's ear and motioned his head towards the Durmstrang headmaster who was furiously conversing with Bagman, Dumbledore and Crouch. Blair hummed in reply before listening in again when Dumbledore returned to his place and begun speaking into his wand once more.

"Because of Mr Potter's heroic act of not only rescuing Mr Weasley but Miss Delacour as well, we have decided to award him second place!"

A cheer came from the Hogwarts students in the stands and Harry was seen being bombarded by his fellow Gryffindors. It was announced that the third and final task will not be taking place until near the end of June, leaving the champions' time to relax and prepare for the most dangerous battle to date. Everyone was sent back onto the boats and towards the shores of the lake to celebrate their victories.

Luckily, Blair and George were able to squeeze into the boat that had Harry, Ron and Hermione already in it. Fred, Ginny and Lee jumped in just before they pushed off from the stands. The boat was full and had a light and bubbly atmosphere, as Harry was happy to be over with two out of three tasks he needed to do and his friends were relieved that he was at least alive. The group congratulated Harry and laughed along with Fred and George's poorly tasted jokes.

"Well you're not the only one who got more than he bargained for today, Harry," Lee stated and everyone turned to him with curious looks. "I saw that Blair and Georgie finally had their first snog."

"You know what Lee? We did," George announced, making Lee frown at the lack of embarrassment on George's face. "And it was a bloody good snog. Better than you'll ever get, because Blair here, is the best snog I've had and will ever have."

With that, George grabbed Blair's cheeks, much like she had done before, and placed a big smooch on her lips. Lee was left astounded and embarrassed as everyone else hooted and cheered. Blair didn't hesitate to kiss George back but shyly hid her face away in his shoulder when they parted. George grinned smugly as Fred clapped him on the back and fanned Lee's face to cool him down from his hot-headed moment.

"I'm so telling Mum," Ron commented and they all stepped out of the boat to head back up to the castle.
