After a bit more teasing, Fred and George left their dormitory and headed down for the Great Hall. Their robes were identical besides their different coloured vests with Fred's being gold and George's being a dark purple. In George's hands, was the box he had tried so hard to hide from Blair throughout their recent Hogsmeade trip. He tossed it nervously back and forth in his hands as they reached the crowded hall, looking up at the grand staircase for any sign of the Ravenclaw he was waiting for.

"Oi! Look at Ronnie-kins!" Fred cried as he patted George's shoulder and pointed to their younger brother who turned up with his brown robes and dodgy sleeves. He looked extremely uncomfortable as he stood next to Harry who wore plain black and white robes that were bound to be bought brand new.

"What a sight to see," George sniggered, watching Ron force his date Padma Patil into the hall.

Up the staircase and behind the wall, Blair hid nervously with Hermione Granger. They stood in their beautiful dresses with their hair done into elegant buns, yet couldn't find the courage to step out and find their dates. Blair had been there first when Hermione had come down from the Gryffindor common room and stuck to the wall next to her, saying that she had been asked by Viktor Krum to the ball.

"I know for a fact that Ron's going to make fun of me," Hermione whispered. "He's so rude! I can't stand him!"

"Well he's walked into the hall with Padma Patil already," Blair said as she peeked around the wall and saw the Weasley disappear behind the two grand doors. But she always spotted George standing with Fred and Lee, obviously waiting for her and their dates. The sight of George in his dress robes sparked nervousness in Blair's stomach and she looked down at her simple dress, suddenly doubting her choice of even turning up for the event.

"I'll go down if you do," Hermione bargained and Blair gulped. A lot of the people standing outside the Great Hall had begun to file out for the champions of the tournament dance. It was now or never.

"Alright."

Blair took a deep breath and stepped out from behind the hall with Hermione, now on full display for those remaining in the hall to see. Blair's dark blue dress clashed with Hermione's bright pink one, yet they both looked beautiful in their own individual way. Hermione stuck out like an elegant flower with her light brown hair that had been slicked back and one strand was curled as it hung down on to her shoulder. Her dress was pink and ruffled towards the floor, mostly being made of silk and mesh. Blair was the opposite of Hermione with her midnight blue dress and black hair, but the style of her elegance was similar. She had been able to charm her dark locks to tie themselves up into a bun that allowed some strands to frame her face. Her collar bones were pale and prominent against her shoulder-less garment.

Their beauty didn't go unnoticed as people turned and gaped at the two wallflowers that usually weren't the centre of attention. Parvati Patil had also turned to see the two and had her mouth drop to the floor, her eyes filled with envy with how beautiful Blair and Hermione were.

"They look beautiful!" she gasped and Harry, who had been looking at Cho Chang next to Cedric Diggory, answered mindlessly.

"Yeah, she does."

When Parvati said nothing, Harry realised that they weren't looking at the same person and turned to where she was looking. He too saw Hermione and Blair in their beautiful dresses and had to clench his teeth to keep his jaw from dropping like Parvati's. He had never seen his best friend so dressed up and without her crazy hair and school uniform. And Blair was an even bigger shock, as he hadn't seen her in anything other than black.

Viktor Krum bowed his head respectively to Hermione and took her hand when she reached the bottom of the stairs, leading her into the hall to get in line for their champions dance. Blair watched her leave before turning her head and finding George standing next to her with a deep blush on his cheeks and a growing smile on his lips.

"You look beautiful," he said in awe and ran his eyes up and down Blair's dress-covered figure. She had only put black eyeliner across her lash line, yet her face looked so beautiful despite its plainness. When he had spotted her on the staircase, he had to have Fred shove him forward in order to meet her at the bottom. If his brother hadn't done so, he'd still be standing with his mouth forming an 'o' shape with drool nearly sliding down his chin.

"Thank you," she glanced down at her black-painted nails. "You look handsome."

"Oh stop it you," he joked and she let out a small giggle, making him bubble inside. He then remembered the box he had been fiddling with and snapped out of his trance of staring at Blair's beauty. "I er... got you this. You know, to make us match."

Blair took it gently from George's hands and opened up the black velvet square. Her eyes widened as she saw the unpolished amethyst gem that hung from a silver chain. It's pale purple made it look subtly glamorous and would go perfectly with her intense midnight blue dress.

"George, this is..." she couldn't finish. "Is this real?"

"I'm not sure," he shrugged but he knew. He knew it was real because he had paid Fred a hefty price to which he promised was what it had cost. But seeing Blair's face light up at the sight of the necklace made it worth every galleon.

"Isn't it just-" Fred appeared with his arm around George's shoulder. "-georgous?"

"Please go away," George groaned at the pun and Fred put his hand over his heart in offence.

"Are you choosing some girl over your own twin?!" he gasped and Angelina appeared at his side, looking embarrassed as Fred continued to be dramatic.

"Sorry about him. We'll get out of your hair," she said, grabbing Fred's arm and pulling him towards the Great Hall.

"Hey! I'm not done with them yet!" Fred's voice faded as Angelina forced him into the Great Hall, leaving George to turn back to Blair with a similar embarrassed look to Angelina's.

"Sorry. You are definitely not some girl," he said and Blair blushed even more. George noticed this and decided to relieve her of anymore awkward moments. He took the silver chain out from the box still in Blair's hands and unclasped the back, slipping his hands behind her neck to connect it below her hair line. He leaned forward so that he could reach which allowed Blair to be close enough to his face to see the flecks of green that were in his dark brown eyes. She gulped dryly as he focused on hooking the ends of the chain together before leaning backwards and looked at the gem that now hung just above the low neck line of her dress.

"Beautiful..." he mumbled and Blair swore she could feel her heart ready to explode out of her chest. The glaze in George's eyes made her feel like the most adored girl in the world. He then held out his arm and said, "Shall we?"

Blair slithered her arm into his and they both walked into the Great Hall where the champions dance had just begun to take place. The hall was decorated beautifully with snow falling from the ceiling and disappearing before it touched the floor. Multiple ice sculptures sat in punch bowls and countless Christmas trees lined the icy walls. If Blair thought Hogwarts was festive at Christmas, this was something completely new.

Blair and George joined the crowd that watched the pairs waltz around the dance floor before Professor Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall decided to join, initiating other couples to start their rehearsed performance.

Durmstrangs could be seen with Beauxbatons and Beauxbatons could be seen with Hogwarts students. It was quite pleasing to see the combinations on the dance floor as the schools had a natural rivalry at first. But the ball had been able to bring the three schools together and eliminate any social status that people thought would matter during the tournament.

One of the most adorable sights was Blair dancing gracefully with George. The Weasley's bright orange hair stood out among the crowd before having the attention drawn to the Rosier that looked happy to be on the dance floor. They followed the steps they had learnt and occasionally stepped on each other's toes, laughing to themselves as they spotted Neville Longbottom tossing Ginny around in an attempt to appear professional.

"You're really good at this," Blair commented after George effortlessly lifted her off the floor with all the other male dancers. "Have you been practicing outside of lessons?"

"Another thing I know that you won't ever find out," George replied and she rolled her eyes playfully.

They continued to waltz on the dance floor to the orchestra that was being directed by Professor Flitwick. George's hand was on the curve of Blair's torso and it sent tingles throughout her body. Her own hand was on his tall shoulder and she was able to stare up at him as they glided through other pairs.

The hall was soon called to sit down at the round tables topped with shiny cutlery, plates and crystal glasses. They were each given a menu to which you would need to say what you wanted aloud so that your meal can appear in front of you. It was a nifty bit of magic that made even seventh years gasp and admire. Blair had the salmon dish and devoured it, while George had the marinated chicken dish.

"What's yours like?" George asked as he leaned over and eyed Blair's plate.

"It's good. You can try some if you want," she offered and watched as George opened his mouth wide and waited patiently for a forkful of salmon. She raised an eyebrow at his actions and resisted the urge to laugh. "What are you doing?"

"Waiting for you to feed me," he said in a 'duh' tone. "Come on, I haven't got all night."

Blair rolled her eyes once more and stabbed at a piece of salmon on her plate, shoving it harshly into George's mouth. He made a chocking noise and jerked away from her, finally making Blair laugh. The tables around them looked in their direction and were actually fearful that Blair was laughing at George chocking to death, but relaxed when they saw George begin to chew and hum in delight.

"It is good! Thanks Blair!" he cheered and the tables turned away from the loss of interest, knowing that a Weasley twin was bound to act silly at such an event. Blair laughed some more and George grinned lopsidedly. "Here, have some chicken!"

George stabbed at a piece of chicken on his own plate and nudged it towards Blair's mouth. She squealed and tried to move her mouth away from his reach.

"No! George, stop!" she cried while laughing. She eventually had no choice and unsealed her lips, letting George drop the chicken and let her chew. She stopped her laughing and blinked back at George, seeing a mischievous grin on his face that hadn't been there before.

"What did you do to it?"

"Nothing."

"George, what did you do?!"

The chicken tasted normal, but the smirk on George's face made Blair paranoid. She wouldn't usually let George shove food into her mouth and now that he looked guilty of something, she definitely knew why she stood by this decision.

"Did you put the kissing concoction on it, Georgie?" Fred voiced from across the table.

"What?! Please tell me you didn't!" Blair yelled and George burst out into laughter.

"Merlin Blair, you're so paranoid. I didn't doanything to it," he stated, sitting back with his arms crossed over his chest after highfiving his brother for going with the harmless joke. "Iwould never slip you anything. You'd brew some potion to poison me if I ever did."
