《Junoesque ✿George Weasley✿》10.

The weekend came quicker than expected and Blair soon found that she was struggling to find something to wear. Never had she ever dressed to impress before and she wasn't sure why she was suddenly trying so hard to in this instance. She was sure that George would turn up in a sweater and jeans that would be identical to his brother's, so why was she trying so hard? She even had pulled on a light blue denim jacket over her black jumper and it felt odd to be wearing something other than black.
Blair huffed as she let her hair fall down her back, giving up in trying to tie it up into a bun that looked suitable. She looked to Jasper who was perched in the middle of her duvet watching her lazily. He was allowed to stay in bed all day while Blair had to go to a place that she had never been to before with a boy who had attempted to kiss her only days before.
That was something she was also worrying about. There was no doubt that George had the intention of kissing her at the party in the Gryffindor common room and they hadn't mentioned or discussed it at all since then. She was aware of the looks she received from Ginny but nothing was ever said about the moment between Blair and George. He hadn't hinted towards it either so it made Blair think that maybe it wasn't actually going to happen. Maybe it was just a spur of the moment. Or maybe he was partially drunk and couldn't keep himself up right in his seat. But Blair swore she never saw him drinking anything that night.
"What are you getting all dressed up for?"
Blair whipped around and saw Poppy standing in the doorway with a knowing look on her face. The girl's eyes ran over the blue jacket and raised her eyebrows twice at Blair. She suddenly felt self conscious and tugged at the openings of the jacket, looking down at her feet while biting her lip.
"Does it look stupid?" she questioned and Poppy immediately started shaking her head.
"Of course not! You look great!" she exclaimed and walked further into the room, sitting on the edge of her own bed. "But can I ask who are you looking so great for?"
"It's no one..."
"Is it that Weasley twin?" Poppy inquired and Blair immediately felt heat rise to her cheeks. "Oooo it is! Which one is it?!"
"George," Blair's mouth was answering for her without even consulting her brain. Never in Blair's life did she think she would be telling her dormitory mate about her day out with a boy. If the younger Blair heard about this, she would be distraught and vow to never grow up.
"Is it a date?" Poppy asked again with a grin.
"I-I don't know," Blair shrugged.
"Will his brother be there?"
"I don't think so."
"Did he tell you where you're going today?"
"Not really."
"Then it's definitely a date!" she jumped up from her bed and cooed at Blair's blushing face. "Do you like him, Blair?"
"I-I'm not sure," she said truthfully. "He's kind of a pain in the ass if I'm honest."
"Eh, all boys are," Poppy mentioned with a shrug. "But I think it's sweet that you're finally going out with someone other than your cat. Don't get me wrong, he's adorable. But I've never seen you talk to anyone before and now you're always with the Weasley twin. It's cute."

Blair thought over Poppy's words and compared her life to how it was before the start of the school year. She was more social now and she even dared to say that she was happier. And it's not like she was having to sacrifice anything to be this way. She still had her down times with her books in the common room and she still studied as much as she needed to excel in her classes. Only now, she had a balance of her social life, her school life and her leisure time.
"Well I won't hold you up anymore," Poppy spoke again. "When I went for breakfast, one of the twins was already waiting in the Entrance Hall for someone. I presume that it's you."
"What?!"
Blair shot up and frantically looked around her room for her wand. She must have lost track of time if George was already waiting for her. Shoving the wood into her shoe, she bolted out of the room and took two steps at a time down the staircase. She made it into the common room and didn't have to time to answer Mina and Nancy who asked why she was in such a rush.
Running all the way down the spiral staircase and through the corridors, she eventually made it to the Entrance Hall completely out of breath. Even though she played Quidditch often, her fitness wasn't the best after a summer of doing nothing and no Quidditch competition for this year. Regardless of that, Blair searched for the long-haired ginger and found him standing next to a bench put off to the side of the clearing. She hurriedly made her way over and George looked up, beaming immediately at the sight of the girl.
"I didn't think you were coming at one stage," he stated with a grin and Blair felt awful for making him wait.
"I'm sorry. I lost track of time," she truthfully said and George waved his hand dismissively.
"Don't worry about it. I'm usually late to everything."
The truth was that George made sure that he wasn't late today. He had gotten up at seven-thirty practically buzzing with anticipation for his 'date'. And when he had turned up at the Entrance Hall at nine on the dot, he had bounced on his heels anxiously for fifteen minutes. His worst fears were coming to life as time passed and Blair still hadn't turned up. He wondered if his actions at the party a few days ago had ruined any chance he had in being with Blair. But when she did turn up in something other than black, his hopes returned and his excitement returned with full force.
"So where is this secret tunnel?" Blair questioned under her breath so that others around them couldn't hear.
"Follow me," George grinned and started to lead her towards the courtyard where the one-eyed witch statute was located.
Blair watched in wonder as they stopped in front of the odd statue and heard George say 'Dissendium'. As if by magic (sarcasm), the statue's hump opened to reveal a very slim opening to a dark tunnel. George stepped aside and motioned his hand towards it, smirking down at Blair's astonished expression.
"After you," he said and Blair stepped through the opening, leaving George to tap the stone behind him. The opening shut completely and they were put into complete darkness.

"Lumos," George called out and his wand lit up. Blair could now see that the tunnel seemed to be carved out of stone, meaning it hadn't meant to be part of Hogwarts when it was first created.
"How did you know about this?" she questioned as she stayed close to George, the two using his wand to get through the tunnel.
"Freddie and I needed ways to get into Hogsmeade when it wasn't Hogsmeade weekend. Needed our supply of Zonko's products to keep the school year going," he answered with a chuckle. "There are at least seven secret passages into the village. Filch knows about a couple but this one's still undiscovered. Brilliant huh?"
"You didn't really answer my question," she said and George chuckled again.
"Well it's for me to know and for you to keep asking about. For once, I know something you don't."
Blair rolled her eyes and continued walking along the uneven ground. It was a long walk but they eventually came to a hatch that sat on the ceiling with light peeking through its wooden planks. George extinguished his wand and reached up, pushing the hatch open and revealing the ceiling of what looked like a loft of some sort. He put his foot against the stone wall and hoisted himself up and out of the tunnel, leaving Blair to look up and see him peeking his head back over.
"Up you come, then," he gestured his hand up and Blair gulped.
She put her foot in the same place George had and tried to reach for the edges of the hole above her, only to stumble backwards and have her foot slip from the wall. She was able to regain her balance but looked back up again with a huff, seeing George looking down at her with a smug look.
"Can't reach?" he questioned and she glared back at him. George rolled his eyes playfully before sticking his hand down and waiting for her to take it. "Come on then, shorty. I'll be your beanstalk."
Ignoring his comment, Blair took hold of his hand and put her foot against the wall again, pushing herself up with George's hand as leverage. He pulled her up with ease and Blair tried not to marvel over his strength. The boy was able to pull her up enough for her shuffle her way out of the tunnel and up on to the floor of the loft, letting George put the hatch back over and disguising it with a huge box of unopened Fizzing Whizbees.
In the mean time, Blair looked around and saw many cardboard boxes that were sealed with various logos on the sides. She saw names like Sugar Quills, Fiery Black Pepper Imps and Chocolate Frogs. Most were familiar to her and she started to become excited to see more things that could be inside the shops Honeydukes, Zonko's and The Three Broomsticks.
George led her down some stairs and they soon came to a teal counter that had a cash register on top. Behind it was a shop bustling with students from Hogwarts, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang. They browsed the multiple shelves and grabbed treats left and right, heading up to the counter where an old man put galleons, knuts and sickles into his register.
"Morning Ambrosius," George cheered as he appeared around the counter with Blair behind him.
"Oh Fred! I was wondering when you'd turn up," the man displayed his wrinkly smile.
"It's George," he corrected with a smirk.
"Oh of course. I can never get you two right," he chuckled before his eyes wandered to Blair standing shyly behind him. "Who's this?"
"Ambrosius, this is Blair," George put his arm around her shoulders and pushed her gently forward so that she was beside him. "She's never been in Hogsmeade before."
"I see," he shot George a look that Blair didn't understand and then smiled warmly down at her. "Well I hope you like it here Blair. I'm sure George will make sure you get the full experience."
Blair timidly stayed close to George as they manoeuvred through the shop. She wasn't comfortable with being in such a crowded room but busied herself with the many sights of sweets around them. She occasionally stopped to look at something and George stopped as well, waiting patiently next to her as she read packaging and marvelled at the many designs.
"You had those before?" George asked when she picked up a packet of Fudge Flies. She shook her head and he grinned. "They're good."
Blair grabbed a packet of Sherbet Lemons as well as the Fudge Flies and started making her way back towards the counter. George followed quickly after her and started to pull a few sickles out his pocket, standing next to her in line.
"I'll get those for you," he said and Blair whipped her head around to him.
"No. They're for me," she fought and George scoffed.
"I wouldn't be a Gryffindor if I let you pay for those."
"And I wouldn't be a Ravenclaw if I had the amount of money I do and still let you pay."
George raised an eyebrow as Blair turned away from him and put her things down on the counter. Ambrosius took the money she gave him while glancing up at George before giving her her purchases in a teal paper bag. She thanked the man before turning away and standing out of the line, waiting for George to lead her out of the shop and to the next.
The two walked out of Honeydukes and on to the pebbled street. While Blair looked around at the lampposts and shops that were filled to the brim with kids, George was pondering long and hard about what she had said about paying for her sweets. He thought it was the gentlemen thing to do and he always used to see Fred paying for things when they'd go out with Angelina for the day.
"What did you mean back there?" he decided to ask as they walked towards Zonko's. "About the money thing?"
"I just don't like having my things paid for," she shrugged and avoided his curious gaze. When he didn't reply, she sighed loudly and told the truth. "I have a lot of savings in the bank, okay? It was left to me by my parents."
