"Bill, Fred, come with me to the Entrance Hall," Arthur instructed as he pointed at his sons. "Charlie, Fleur and George, you head towards the Astronomy Tower. Molly, Sophia, you go towards the courtyard near the Great Hall."

"You're separating all the couples Dad. Coincidence?" Charlie jokingly narrowed his eyes at his dad. "Even the newly wedded? Congratulations by the way Fredster."

"This really isn't the time Charlie," Arthur sighed. "Do as you're told."

The Weasley boys all laughed and started to depart to their allocated places. The family seemed like they were prepared for the battle and were hyping themselves up to make some sort of light of the situation. But if you were an outsider and was watching the family, you would see the only brunette standing a small distance away with a metaphoric cloud over her head.

Sophia stood with her hands clasped together to stop them from shaking and shuffled her feet around on the tiled floor. She stared mindlessly ahead, not hearing Arthur's instructions because of the high pitched ringing in her ears. She couldn't even look up to face any members of the Weasley family and for the first time ever, felt unwelcome among them. They didn't know anything about what was to come and Sophia felt like the child that ruined Christmas by opening everyone's present early. She knew something that they didn't and the very idea of standing near them made her feel like she was betraying them.

"Sophia?" the dreaded voice broke through the ringing in her ears and forced her to look up, seeing the face she adored yet hated at the same time. He looked so innocent and unaware of his fate. Sophia gulped as Fred's eyes stared into hers, attempting to find an explanation of why she seemed so distant.

He had noticed how much she had been staring into space since the preparation of the castle, but had thought better to say anything until now. When his father had said that he'd be with him in the Entrance Hall and that Sophia would be in the courtyard, he tried his best to ignore the sinking stone in his chest. He wanted to be sure that she was okay throughout the battle and be next to her for its entirety. Maybe Sophia was feeling the same. Maybe that was why she was being like this.

"You okay?" he questioned while leaning down and putting his hands on her shoulders.

"Y-Yeah. I'm fine," she nodded but her voice was weak and cracked as if she had been crying. Fred's eyebrows pinched together in concern at her ghostly complexion and shaking hands. She noticed his gaze and put her hands by her sides to make it harder for him to see.

"Are you sure?" he tried again.

"Yes. I'm sure," she said with a forced smile, furiously blinking away the tears that pinged to her eyes. The sight of his face made her want to tremble and curl into a ball from guilt and betrayal. How could she let him walk right into the battlefield? She could be considered a murder for letting him walk to his death.

"Alright. If you're sure...", Fred had no choice but to leave her be.

Sophia opened her mouth tospeak again but stopped before she could let the words fall out. She smiled plainlyand turned away from him, following after Molly to the courtyard. Fred watchedher leave and had the urge to follow to maybe get some more answers from her.But she turned the corner of the corridor before he could, making him sigh and head to the Entrance Hall. Besides the already heavy atmosphere of the oncoming battle, Fred felt the odd behaviour of Sophia worrying. If she wasn't confident during this, then he definitely wasn't going to be.

The barrier that surrounded Hogwarts began to be penetrated by spells and curses from the hills. The mass of men and women that held their wands up to get through to the school could be seen even through the dark night. Flakes of the barrier flowed down and disintegrated in the air, the castle starting to become vulnerable and susceptible for the attack. One final shot caused the explosion that created a force that blew everyone's hair back from the demolishing of the magic field.

Sophia's heart pounded as the black mass that she could see on the hills started to scatter like ants and rush towards the bridge that led into the school. She clutched her wand while glancing over to the other people that stood in the courtyard with her. Molly and her were accompanied by Hogwarts students Lavender Brown and Ernie Macmillan, followed by other students Sophia had seen in the past. If Death Eaters were to get through the Entrance Hall and Great Hall, the courtyard would be the next place they'd reach after weaving through the corridors.

It only took five minutes for the first people to appear around the corner and make their way into the courtyard. A streak of orange flew past Sophia's shoulder and was blocked by a sixth year behind her. It was the wake up that everyone needed as more shots of green, red and yellow were fired into the space while scowling witches and wizards flowed out like liquid.

"Bombarda!" a red flare shot out from Sophia's wand and hit a charging man who sneered at her. The man swished his wand and deflected the spell, continuing on his pursuit.

He shot silent curses towards her to which she blocked with ease. Sophia found herself struggling with the duel as the man sent spells out without hesitation. She had no choice but to continue blocking them while taking steps back from the sheer force of his magic. He didn't look like someone to be challenged with his shaved head and heavily scarred face. He looked like he had been in several duels before and had won every single one.

"Protego!"

"Protego!"

"Proteg-"

The man shot a powerful jinx that caused her temporary field to break before it had fully formed and made her stumble backwards. He thought he had been able to stun her for enough time to finish the duel, making him chuckle evilly and indulge in his success. But Sophia took his foolish opportunity and shot a powerful Reductor curse, causing him to fly backwards and explode into a black mist.

She didn't have to time to relax or appreciate her work as another spell came from her right and she blocked it in time while turning to its origin. A woman stood with lank brown hair and a permanent glare on her face, immediately shooting spells to force Sophia into another duel.

Sophia continued like this for what felt like hours. Once she was able to either stun, obliviate or encase her opponent, another one would appear with just as much fight power but with more energy and blood lust. She had come out of each duel relatively unscathed, but her energy had started to fall and her motivation was the only thing keeping her fighting.

One sneaky Death Eater had been able to shoot the Sectumsempra curse while her back was turned and singed her right side. Her arm bled from her bicep to her wrist, making it useless. She was lucky she was left-handed and was able to continue her skillful wand work with her dominant hand. But the sting from her flesh and degrading energy started to make her sluggish and an easier target.

The amount of people in the courtyard had thinned out considerably on both sides of battle. Death Eaters and Hogwarts students alike had either escaped to the wider rooms of the castle or laid dead on the floor. The only people left were Molly, Sophia, Ernie, Lavender and two of the younger students. Molly had fought well and was always seen wining her duels and even protecting the younger students around her. She had deflected curses from Sophia without her noticing and was always making sure that she wasn't losing her battles.

"Expelliarmus!" Sophia disarmed the last Death Eater and Molly shot the Stunning curse, making the man fall to the ground frozen and unarmed. Sophia crushed his wand and looked up to the corridors to her left, only having a moment to turn her head away and leap out of the incoming explosion from the hills.

A ball of fire had crashed into the arches of the corridor and exploded into the courtyard. Debris and wood crashed on to the stone floor and flattened bodies that had been in the line of fire. The students were able to venture into the opposite corridors and run away from the falling objects. Molly stayed and cast a charm that encircled herself with a bubble that couldn't be penetrated without magic. The small radius around her was left bare as she let the charm fall and saw the flames and mess of architecture had filled the entire yard that used to be a place of relaxation for Hogwarts students.

"Sophia?" she called out and whipped her head around the yard. "Sophia?!"

Climbing up on to the mess, Molly began to unstably walk and search for the girl who had been standing the closest to the explosion. Her wand lit up with Lumos charm and she pulled away chunks of wood in hopes of finding a limb belonging to her daughter-in-law. The moonlight partially assisted her but there was mounds of wreckage she would need to go through.

Molly panicked as minutes passed after the explosion and she still hadn't found Sophia. She threw things behind her while she scavenged and cursed the laws of magic for not being able to summon a person like you could with an object.

As if Merlin sensed her panic, a groan was heard from a place ahead of Molly's search and she jerked her head up to see a portion of wreckage moving. The disruption caused Molly to stumble over the mound and shove her hand into the place where she had heard the noise. She felt a hand and immediately enclosed her fingers around it, pulling it upwards and feeling the weight of a body following after it.

"Oh dear Sophia! Are you alright?!" she cried as Sophia's head appeared and shuffled the rest of her body up to the surface.

Sophia let out a grunt and swayed dangerously once she was free and sitting on top of where she had emerged. Her hair was covered in dirt and wood splinters with a prominent stream of blood running down through her eyebrow and down past her eye. Splatters of blood covered her clothes and she could barely see straight. Her vision was blurred around the edges and she had trouble focusing on Molly who was attempting to speak to her.

"Talk to me Sophia!" the woman cried as she lightly slapped her cheek.

Seeing that she was getting no reaction, Molly decided to take a more practical approach. She grabbed Sophia's left arm and pulled her up to her feet, taking her hand and leading her down from the pile of debris. Sophia tried her best to move her legs in coordination and be aware of places where she could slip and bang her head once more. Molly got down to the pebbled ground and rushed into the corridors that would eventually lead to the Great Hall.

But Sophia stumbled and lost her footing completely, sending her to the ground and collapsing in a heap. Molly went to turn around when a red shot of light flew past her, forcing her to attend to the Death Eater that had appeared at the end of the corridor and attack the two women. While Molly dueled, Sophia shuffled herself back against the wall and sat behind a pillar. She tried to focus her vision but her mind was shutting down, wanting nothing more than to sleep and replenish her energy.

Giving in to the darkness, Sophia let her head fall and lean against the pillar as Molly was reluctantly forced away from the scene from an oncoming crowd of Death Eaters.

It had only been half an hour since she had fallen asleep, but Sophia jerked awake with the idea that the battle was over. She looked up and down the corridor with half-lidded eyes, seeing it deserted yet still having signs of broken walls and skid marks from unsuccessfully curses. Booming and explosions could be heard in the distance as the sounds echoed through the night, teaming with the smoke that flowed from burnt parts of the castle.

Seeing as no one was around, Sophia took a moment to look over herself and think what to do next. She wasn't incapable of fighting but her injuries could damage her reaction time and power of defence. Her right side burned from the Sectumsempra curse and her head pounded with leaks of blood running from her scalp and into her eyes. Maybe if she headed towards the inner parts of the castle, she could take less energy draining battles and help the younger students.

But then she thought of her reading. The reminder of guilt and dread filled her once more and she forced herself to stand to her feet. Using the pillars lining the wall as support, she pushed herself down the corridor towards the Entrance Hall. With a new purpose and found motivation, she decided that she had to stop what was coming. She couldn't let Fred die. She wasn't going to let her knowledge of the future betray her again.
