《Ethereal ✭Fred Weasley✭》64.

As if things couldn't get any tenser at The Burrow, Remus and Tonks arrived just as Fred and George did. The pairs emerged from the long grass in a panic and saw that even from the outside, the house looked chaotic with people gathered inside. Tonks had been at the Lupins' home when they got Molly's patronus and they apparated as soon as they heard. Tonks had attempted to try and calm the man down first but couldn't stop him ripping open the front door of the house and apparating immediately to where he heard Sophia had somehow turned up at.
Fred and George had been in their flat above their shop, having a seemingly quiet evening after a long day working. George was in the living room opening some new deliveries they had gotten that day while Fred sat in the spare room. The room was where they kept all of their prototypes and unreleased products, making it a treasure-trove to the brothers. Fred had unfortunately been given the job to make up some more Love Potions, leaving him to sit on the floor of the spare room with a cauldron in front of him. He wouldn't admit to George that he hated making the Love Potions because he didn't want to seem like he was getting cold feet about the shop. It certainly wasn't the reason but he did the job anyway, even resulting to holding his breath for most of the stirring of the potion. The truth was that the Love Potions always smelt like the things the person likes the most. So for Fred, he would smell the gunpowder that would linger behind their firework products, the laundry powder that the House Elves of Hogwarts used for the student's uniforms, and the floral scent that Sophia's shampoo always carried. It broke his heart to smell such things as it would remind him of where the person he loved most was. Even in the shop, Fred was sure to stay away from the Love Potions stand and leave it to their cashier Verity to work with. She would always be suspicious at why he'd never go near that part of the store, but Fred was sure that George eventually informed her of why.
The four that stepped out of the tall grass and immediately looked at Charlie Weasley who was standing lonesome in the middle of the clearing. He caught the eyes of Remus first with what could only be described as a hard look, only driving the Lupin to sprint into the house with Tonks trailing after him. Charlie then looked at his brothers, biting his lip at the sight of Fred's hopeful face.
"Is she here? Did they really find her?!" Fred questioned as he stopped in front of Charlie, switching his gaze between him and The Burrow. He was so pumped on adrenaline that he didn't take notice of how troubled Charlie looked and how reluctant he seemed to speak to him. But George picked up on this and his heart sunk at the thought of something not being right about Sophia.

"Just... prepare yourself Freddie," Charlie forced out with crossed arms. He hated that he had been given the job to be there for when Fred arrived. It was a demand given to him by his father who knew the kind of reaction Fred would have.
"W-What do you mean?" Fred's eyebrows came together in the middle of his forehead. "What's wrong with her?"
"Freddie maybe we should-"
Fred didn't listen to George as he pushed past Charlie and marched up to the porch of his family home. The footsteps that hurriedly followed after him didn't stop him from shoving the front door open and forcing his head to turn to where the living room sat. He didn't see her at first and he actually thought that this was some kind of sick joke. Maybe a way to get back at him and George for all of the mayhem they'd caused throughout their years.
He saw Harry, Hermione and Ron standing near the staircase that lead up to the bedrooms. He saw the tears that were running down Hermione's face and the permanent grimace that dawned Ron's. Harry stood there looking as pale as a ghost and shakily fixing his glasses before returning his hands to their constant fidgeting. Fred then saw his dad standing back from the group that clustered around the sofa, seeing the strained look that he had never seen him wear before. George and Charlie had only just reached him when Fred decided to take matters into his own hands, forcefully pushing through the Order members that were blocking his view.
"Just wait for a second boy," Mad-Eye Moody's gruff voice sounded from behind him but he ignored it once again, pushing through the last layer of people and finally reaching the sofa.
Remus was sitting on his knees on the floor; his head hung low with Tonks standing behind him with her hand on his shoulder. He made no noise but his shoulders quivered in sorrow, his heart threatening to break in two from the sight of his daughter. Molly and Fleur had begun to bandage the bloodied legs of the girl without magic, too afraid of maybe tightening it too much to the point of further pain.
"My baby... my poor baby..." Remus's voice was quiet and pleading. It was much like Amos Diggory's when he had seen the state of his dead son Cedric, only Remus's sounded much more reserved and internally painful.
Fred's breathing had stopped completely and the numbness that burst from his heart spread all the way to the tips of his fingers and toes. His eyes began to fill with unshed tears at the sight of the countless bloody bandages that wrapped around Sophia's head, neck, arms, hands and legs. The wheezing that she was once emitting had reduced to a small choke in her throat but her breathing was still heavy, putting Fred into an even deeper pit of despair. He noticed how short and edgily her hair had been cut and her hooded eyes that stared up at the ceiling aimlessly. Fred swore he felt his soul slowly drift out of his body and leave him completely empty.

"George," Arthur spoke up against the heavy silence. "I think you should take Fred outside."
"R-Right..." George croaked out, now also seeing Sophia for the first time. Tears welled up in his own eyes as he reached forward to grab Fred's bicep, surprised at how willingly Fred moved away from his spot. George slowly pulled Fred out towards the porch; not looking back in fear of catching sight of Sophia's mangled body again. The group watched as the twins disappeared without a word, moving completely out of their path in a sort of fear that Fred would suddenly jerk away and lunge at them.
"We need to have a meeting... right now," Mad-Eye spoke up with a demanding tone, limping towards the kitchen with his walking stick clanking against the wood of the floor.
"Just wait a moment Alastor, can't you see-"
"Of course I can see! I think we can all see what has happened!" Mad-Eye spat at Kingsley Shacklebolt. "Which means the faster we react, the better! There's not use sitting here in bleeding silence-"
"There's every use," Remus's surprisingly strong voice stopped the man, making heads swivel around to look at the hunched over figure on the floor. Remus looked over his shoulder at Mad-Eye with narrowed eyes, but not quite as stern as a glare. The look made the Ex-Auror back off slightly and shut his mouth, clenching his jaw with a hint of embarrassment. Who knew such a terrifying looking man could be embarrassed.
"Right... of course," Mad-Eye let out and stopped completely on his pursuit to the kitchen.
Fleur cleaned the last bit of skin on Sophia's leg and Molly wrapped up yet another ghastly looking gash with a bandage. The bowl that sat in Fleur's hands was now a thick and dark colour of red, initiating the finishing of Sophia's treatment. Everyone watched as the women stood to their feet with their hands stained with reminisce of Sophia's blood.
"That should do it for now," Molly announced with a small nod, forcing herself not to let out a sniffle. "They'll need changing every now and again-"
"I'll do it," Hermione spoke up first, blushing slightly at the heads that turned to look at her as fast as light. She used the sleeve of her cardigan to wipe at the last few tears that stained her face before putting on a hard look. "I have Dittany too. It'll help."
"Alright then," Molly nodded with a hint of a smile, appreciating the girl's initiative. "I'll go make some tea..."
The Weasley Mother disappeared into the kitchen with Fleur close behind. The remaining people in the room decided to make it less crowded and awkward by following the two women into the kitchen, leaving Remus, Tonks, Ron, Harry and Hermione behind. Ginny had decided that she needed to get away from the gruesome sight and had been sitting in her bedroom upstairs, trying her best to suffocate her cries and hiccups.
"I'm gonna go check on Fred and George..." Ron strained and made his way out the room, inwardly sighing at the relief of exiting the tense atmosphere. Hermione took it upon herself to kneel beside Remus who continued to silently grieve beside the sofa, placing a hand on the spare shoulder that wasn't occupied by Tonks. The two girls shared a small look before offering to help Remus outside from some fresh air, to which the man went lifelessly out through the back door. Harry was left by himself in the corner, nervously and anxiously looking over at the girl. She hadn't looked away from the ceiling above her and Harry thought for second that she may have fallen asleep with her eyes open. But when they slowly blinked, he was sure she was just completely out of it. I mean, who wouldn't be after all that? Her breathing was now normal and unheard of, giving the illusion that she was fine and unharmed. But that obviously wasn't the case.
Harry forced himself to sit in the armchair that sat beside the sofa, locking his hands together and staring down at them with a clenched jaw. He wasn't sure if he should maybe say something to her. He wasn't sure if she even had the ability to reply. So he sat there silently, hating the urge he had to look away from the bloodied bandages.
Outside, Ron sat down beside Fred who was sitting on the steps that lead up to the porch. George stood leaning against the wood that held up a part of the veranda, gazing out into the field in an attempt to rid the constant image of blood from his mind. Ron bit his lip while thinking of something to say to his brother, who sat with his head cradled into his hands. He hadn't said anything since he had sat down and George didn't have the will power to try and talk to him, leaving Ron to have a kick at it.
"She's alive... that's good right?" Ron's pathetic attempt made George roll his eyes to himself. Fred didn't answer or even raise his head to look at Ron, making the boy awkwardly clear his throat to fill the silence.
"I mean-"
"Just be quiet Ron."
Fred's stern tone was enough for him to shut his mouth completely. George jumped slightly at the strong voice that emitted from his usually playful and cheeky brother, knowing full well that he needed to be left alone. He was grateful that Ron had gotten the message also, leaving the three Weasleys' to go back into the silence that was fitting for the occasion.
The Burrow had quieted down considerable with a majority of the adults in the kitchen and the remaining spread out about the house. And as Draco Malfoy watched from beside his mother from outside the barrier, a shiver went down his spine as his mother spoke.
"He'll be proud of you Draco. You did well. He'll trust us again..." and the two apparated away from the scene.
