Sophia had made it to Umbridge's office expecting to see Ron, Hermione and Harry still there, but was only greeted by the unconscious bodies of Malfoy, Goyle, Crabbe, Pansy Parkinson and Graham Montegue. They were dispersed all over the floor of Umbridge's pink office, putting Sophia in the deepest of confusions. She shrugged it off after the urgency returned for her to contact someone from the Order and she rushed over to the fireplace that sat warmly under the rows and rows of plates that showed adorable little kittens on them. She found a pot of Floo Powder sitting on the mantel piece and took a handful to throw into the fire. She crouched on to her knees and stuck her head into the fireplace, announcing the address of her house where she hoped her Father would be. Sophia held her breath as she threw the powder and felt the familiar feeling of being pulled in all directions. Only she felt this in her head, as her body stayed in the office on her knees.

She was met with the dusty and shabby looking living room she knew well, recognizing it as the house she grew up in with her father. The windows of the house were shut giving the room a much more musty and dark sense, worrying Sophia that maybe her father wasn't home.

"Dad?" she called out from the fireplace. Her heart nearly dropped into her stomach when she heard silence but it was quickly restored when she heard footsteps coming from the right of the living room, where the stairs leading to the next floor sat. "Dad?!"

"Sophia?" Remus appeared from the side with an astonished look, not expecting to see his daughter's head in his fireplace. "What are you doing here? Well, what is your head doing here?"

"Where's Sirius? Is he at home?" she questioned immediately as the man crouched down to peer at her face in the flames.

"I-I don't know, I haven't seen him since yesterday," Remus answered with a small shrug. "Why? What's happened? Where are you? Have the Ministry found out where Grimmauld Place is?"

"No," she shook her head. "I'm in Umbridge's office. Harry thinks he's seen Sirius being tortured by You Know Who in a place he's been seeing in his dreams. I don't know where they are but I went to look at my map a-and... Dad I think Sirius is going to be killed."

Remus went quiet for a moment and gulped nervously. He wasn't sure what to do first. He needed to check is Sirius was indeed away from his house, but he also needed to alert the Order. He also felt the need to take Sophia away from Hogwarts so that she can be protected while he does these errands. Hogwarts wasn't safe while under the Ministry's control and it certainly wasn't safe for Sophia to be contacting him through Umbridge's fireplace.

"Go outside of the Hogwarts barrier," Remus instructed after a short while.

"What barrier? Where's that?"

"It's a hidden barrier to keep anyone from just walking into the school. It should end somewhere in the Forbidden Forest," Remus explained quickly. "Go there and I'll come find you. I can't apparate any closer to the school so get as far into the forest as you can."

"Okay, but what are you going to do?" Sophia asked worriedly.

"I'm going to check Grimmauld Place and see if Sirius is there." Remus stood to his full height. "I should be able to meet you by the time you get into the forest. Go now, and don't let Umbridge see you."

And with that, Sophia pulled her head out of the fireplace and found herself back in Umbridge's sickly sweet office. It was disorientating to suddenly come back into a room so different from the one you were just in and Sophia tried to get to her feet while ignoring the dizzy feeling in her head. Eventually stumbling over the bodies of the Inquisitive Squad and out the door, Sophia sprinted out of the classroom and towards the Entrance Hall where she could get to the Forbidden Forest. She found it odd that she didn't even need to hide from Umbridge during her pursuit as the woman was nowhere to be seen. A few students were littering the halls but overall, it was quiet as she hurriedly made it outside of the castle.

She sprinted across the fields and towards the cluster of trees that sat behind Hagrid's hut. She had never actually been into the forest but she was always told dangerous creatures lurked there. They must be dangerous enough to have Dumbledore announce of its off-boundary every year at the Welcoming Feast. Sophia ignored the small tinge of fear she felt from entering the dark forest and began to weave through the trees, heading towards a far enough point where the invisible barrier would end around Hogwarts.

She had been running for at least five minutes when she felt a strong vibration from the ground that crept up her legs. She halted in her place and looked around the woodland, seeing nothing but trees that loomed tall over her. Sophia shivered slightly as the vibration continued and a sound soon followed, sounding oddly like the galloping of a horse. She whipped around and caught sight of an approaching figure through the trees, making her take a few cautious steps back. She had heard these creatures lurked in this forest but she had never actually seen them. And seeing one now up close was surreal.

"Sophia Lupin?" it's voice was booming and authoritative, making her swallow dryly.

"Y-Yes?" she exclaimed shakily.

"I have been sent by your father. He is waiting for you and in a mighty hurry," the creature explained, standing tall over the small girl. "It isn't safe for a Witch to be in these woods now. We have just had a run in with a member of the Ministry of Magic who has upset my kind greatly."

Sophia wordlessly nodded and the Centaur began to turn around, leading her back towards the way he had come. She took the time to admire the body of a horse that the Centaur was known for; its strong back legs looking like it could kick her with enough force to send her miles away. The upper half of a man was also just as admirable and looked just as strong as it's other half. Sophia couldn't help but feel giddy at the act of walking beside the creature who she knew had the abilities of star reading that would be considered legendary. She had only learnt of them in Astronomy and the Care for Magical Creatures, and walking beside one know was like meeting her greatest hero.

"Sophia," her father's voice pulled her attention away from her admiring of the Centaur. She turned to see Remus standing there with his wand in hand and dressed in his usual grey suit. His lined face was in its usual state of worry and anxiousness and he stepped forward to embrace her, relieved that she had found her way safely. "Thank goodness you're alright."

"I'm fine Dad," Sophia reassured and pulled away, glancing at the Centaur that still stood beside her. Her father did the same and looked up to the tall being.

"Thank you for keeping her safe," Remus nodded with gratitude, making the Centaur bow it's head in a similar manner.

"We do not harm the young, but my kind has most likely gone back on these morals from recent encounters," his booming voice sent shivers down Sophia's spine. "But take care of your young Mr Lupin, as a treacherous war is near and the young will be targetted."

The Centaur turned away from them and galloped into the depths of the trees, disappearing quickly before their very eyes. Remus thought over these words and felt nervous for the hundredth time today. It reminded him why he had come in the first place and made him snap back into reality in order to take quick action.

"Sirius was at home. He was fine," Remus turned to Sophia with his hands on her shoulders. "What Harry must have seen would have been Voldemort's trap to get him to the Ministry. We believe that's where they are now and we couldn't stop Sirius from leaving the house when he heard-"

"What?! Dad this is what I saw in my map! Sirius is going to-"

"I know, that's why the Order needs to be there now," Remus nodded. "I need to get you to the Burrow where Molly will keep you safe. I'm going with the Order-"

"No Dad," she sternly cut him off for a second time. "I'm not going to just sit at the Burrow while you guys go fighting Death Eaters. I want to help! Please don't make me be that weak little girl that you've been forcing on me since last year."

"Sophia this is what they want!" Remus cried frantically. "They want you to go help so that they can snatch you right from under our noses! Remember that you are the weapon Voldemort wants!"

"I don't care! I want to help!" Sophia shoved Remus's hands off her shoulders and sending a pleading look up to him as she pulled out her wand from her pocket. "I've been learning to defend myself! Please just let me come! You won't lose me like you lost Mum, I know that's what you're afraid of. Please just... let me help for once..."

Every cell in Remus's body was telling him to keep to his original plan and apparate her to the Burrow. But something about the way Sophia looked up at him made him change his mind and he hated at how easily swayed he was. He sighed to himself and took hold of her wrist, preparing to apparate them to the inside of the Ministry of Magic. He knew he would hate himself later for this but he couldn't stop. The two disappeared in a pure white mist and travelled into the Ministry itself, making Sophia feel sick to her stomach from the feeling of being pushed through a tube.

She held her wand tightly and thanked the moment she felt her feet touch the ground, her wrist still tightly clamped in Remus's grip. When she opened her eyes, she was immediately surrounded by the turmoil that was happening before her. The room was huge and could even be mistaken for a human-designed cave. The ground was rocky and had textures that would fool you into thinking you were outside, the room being bare except for a strange looking archway that sat in the middle. In front of it was who she recognised as Lucius Malfoy and Harry, the boy slowly starting to hand over a glittering orb that was in his hand. Sophia only had glance around once to see her friends clamped in the hold of Death Eaters, her heart skipping a beat at seeing Hermione and Ron held up with threatening wands to their throats.

"Get away from my godson," Sirius appeared behind Lucius and punched him hard in the face, causing the platinum blonde to stumble down away from Harry. The Death Eaters' looked panicked as white mists began to venture into the room and nearby, revealing members of the Order of the Phoenix.

The white mists contrasted with the black mists that seemed to circulate around the Death Eaters when they apparated, wild chases now beginning to happen all around. She spotted members of the Order begin to fight against the Death Eaters including Mad-Eye Moody, Kingsley Shacklebolt, Arthur Weasley and Nymphadora Tonks. The pink haired woman began to gather up the students who had been taken hostage and hiding them behind a rock for protection. Sophia had half a mind to follow but was suddenly stopped when a ghastly looked Death Eater stepped in her path, firing a spell straight away.

"Protego!" Sophia swiped her wand in front of her, blocking the curse while shaking. The man had scraggly hair that went past his ears and into his eyes, his black teeth beaming at her as he grinned evilly. She recognised him as Antonin Dolohov, an escapee who was in the mass breakout of Azkaban a few weeks ago.

"Confringo!" Remus cried beside her, sending it towards the man who apparated away from the spell. He appeared again nearby and continued to shoot curses and hexes at them both, creating a duel between himself and the Lupins'.

"Expelliarmus!"

"Reducto!"

"Protego!"

"Petrificus Totalus!" Sophia cried and the man suddenly fell still, falling to the floor with his wand rolling away with a loud clatter. Dolohov laid there with his eyes wide open and unable to move, letting Sophia and Remus lower their wands. They had just turned their heads towards the archway where Harry and Sirius still were, to see Bellatrix Lestrange appear nearby. Sophia felt like it was slow motion as the woman raised her wand, feeling her previous reading from her map become reality as the woman's actions were too fast for anyone to react.

"Avada Kedavra!" a green light shot out of Lestrange's wand and hit Sirius who was just laughing from a victory against Lucius Malfoy, the man's face suddenly going slack as he looked at Harry in his last few moments.
