《Ethereal ✭Fred Weasley✭》50.

The Great Hall was buzzing for a different reason the next morning. Usually it would of been because of a new Educational Decree that was seen being hammered into the wall by Filch, making students gossip and angrily eat their breakfasts. Today it was because of the much anticipated Quidditch match between Gryffindor and Slytherin, and would be the first match with Angelina as Captain and Ron as Keeper. A quaffel was being thrown back and forth in front of the entrance of the hall between Graham Montegue and Gregory Goyle, making anyone who walked in a potential unfortunate target. Most of the Gryffindor team was sitting at their table waffling down a hefty breakfast, all except Ron. He sat with a pale face and a grimace as his appetite was nonexistent this morning. The boy was so nervous for the match that he hadn't spoken to anyone since he woke up and couldn't even look his team mates in the eye. Sophia sat opposite him with Harry next to her, the two trying their best to get Ron to eat at least a piece of toast.
"It'll make you feel worse if you don't eat anything Ron," Sophia sternly said but she was ignored. Her and Harry exchanged a worried look and momentarily stopped their efforts in force-feeding Ron. There was no denying that Slytherin was doing everything in their power to make Ron feel intimated for his first match. They had even come up with a chant that wasn't the nicest to which Ron's friends tried their best to ensure he didn't hear it.
Fred and George had made their way into the Great Hall together, the two wearing identical Gryffindor sweaters and carrying their Beater bats. Fred was marvelling over his as it was the one Sophia had bought him for Christmas last year and it was the first time he'd be able to use it properly. George had admitted that he was jealous of the pristine equipment to which Fred had suggested he'd get his own girlfriend.
"You make it sound like it's easy," George scoffed. "It took you a year to ask Sophia."
"A year's not that long if you think about it," Fred fought back. "We've known Angelina since first year mate. Now that's a long time."
"Alright then, by the end of this year, I bet you I will have asked Angelina out," George stopped his twin in the middle of the hall and challenged him.
"Fifteen galleons?" Fred offered with his hand out to shake, watching his brother glare at him for a moment before nodding.
"You're on."
The two shook hands and George walked away straight after to take a seat next to Angelina. Fred shook his head with a lazy smile and looked up to see Sophia sitting on the bench in front of his youngest brother. He stood there for a moment to marvel over her beautiful face that wore a nervous expression at Ronald's white complexion, letting his eyes run down her long shiny hair that had grown to reach her elbows. This made his gaze shamelessly wondering to her waist that was slightly visible from under her Gryffindor sweater that had hitched up. She was leaning with her arms on the table making her back curve and show off her hourglass figure, not to mention how tight her sweater was around her chest. Fred could feel himself getting hot from his sinful thoughts and constant staring, pulling at the collar of his sweater for a moment and making his way over to the girl he had just been marvelling over.

"You okay Freddie?" she asked when he had sat beside her with slightly flushed cheeks. He tried his best to appear normal and nodded with a clear of his throat.
"I'm fine love," Fred successfully get his voice to stay at one pitch all while grabbing the jug of orange juice in front of him and pouring himself a hefty glass. He busied himself by shoving the glass to his lips, avoiding to look any lower than her face. He hadn't realised how damn tight the school house jumpers were especially on girls. It wasn't a secret that Sophia had matured quite a bit since Fred had first met her but it wasn't until recently that he had the time to really notice it and enjoy it. At least look at it anyway.
"Alright..." Sophia replied with a raised eyebrow, confused at Fred's odd behaviour. Shrugging it off, she turned back to face Ron who was starting to get up from his seat with Harry doing the same. "You guys going to the pitch? Did you eat something?"
"Yeah..." Ron answered with a monotone voice, walking off before she could say anything else. Harry threw her a fleeting glance over his shoulder and tried to catch up with Ron who hung his shoulders when he passed the Slytherins' at the entrance.
"He definitely didn't eat anything," Sophia huffed at the sight of Ron's untouched plate. She turned to see Fred shovel a long-cut piece of bacon into his mouth, a cringe forming on her face as he chewed unattractively. "Don't have to worry about you not eating anything do I?"
Fred just looked at her with a blank look as he chewed like his life depended on it, not liking the judging look he was getting. Sophia rolled her eyes and got up to follow after Hermione who she could see had just left the hall.
"Hey! Aren't you forgetting something?" Fred called as he grabbed hold of her arm before she could run off. She turned to meet his gaze again only to see him with his eyes shut and his lips out and waiting for a kiss. Sophia held back a laugh at his face and leaned forward to press a kiss to his cheek, running off before he could stop her.
Hermione and Sophia took their seats in the stands among the rest of the waiting Gryffindors. This was the first match since their victory with the House Cup against Ravenclaw as there was no competition last year because of the Tri-Wizard tournament. The Slytherins could be seen in the opposite stands dawned in their usual green and silver being just as excited for the long awaited match. The two teams had walked on to the pitch and the two Captains, Angelina and Graham Montegue, shook hands with cold looks. Montegue wasn't as ghastly looking as the previous Slytherin Captain Marcus Flint but he was definitely no Veela.
The teams mounted their brooms and shot up into the air, Madam Hooch throwing up the quaffel and starting the game. Right from that moment, Slytherin were playing to kill. The Chasers would intentionally fly full force into their opponents while the two Beaters laughed as they vicious hit the bludgers with dangerous strength at the Gryffindors' heads. Harry and Draco Malfoy were seen circulating the pitch for the Snitch, the Slytherin constantly digging at Harry in order to somehow set him off his search to win the game.

"They're singing that awful chant again," Hermione grumbled as a faint poem was coming from the Slytherin stand opposite them. Sophia could hear the words 'Weasley is our King, he can't save a thing. Weasley is our King, he was born in a bin'. She cringed visibly while the players on the pitch grinned at the encouragement. Sophia's heart dropped when she saw the disheartened look on Ron's face as he was hearing the chant for the first time.
"But we're winning though," Sophia tried cheerfully as Ginny was able to shoot another goal. The Gryffindors cheered regardless of the Slytherin's chant, trying to overpower the singing with more light-hearted and less offensive encouragement.
Before they knew it, Harry was seen catching the Snitch and Lee Jordan's congratulations was heard over the commentary of the game. Sophia and Hermione cheered for a moment but stopped when a bludger was sent intentionally from Crabbe into the back of Harry's head. The boy fell off his broom but only fell four or five feet as he was already descending to the grass.
"That's a foul!" Sophia cried and the two girls watched as both the Gryffindor and Slytherin team followed after Harry. Ron in particular was seen lonesome from the team and was walking off towards the changing rooms with sagging shoulders. No one made an effort to follow him as they were too distracted by the commotion that was starting to brew from Draco Malfoy in particular and the rest of the Gryffindor team.
"That can't be good," Hermione mumbled before they both made their way to the stairs and sprinted on to the field towards the group of green and red Quidditch robes. Sophia only heard a fragment of what Mafloy had said but it was enough to catch on to the fact that he was taking the mick out of the Gryffindors' because of their loss.
"We couldn't fit in him being a useless loser either. And then there's his father, the Weasley waste of space," Malfoy sneered.
A chain reaction occurred from the redheads within the Gryffindor team, all leaping forward in an attempt to clobber at the disgrace of a Wizard. Sophia jumped in front of Fred before he could step further, pressing her hands against his chest in an attempt to stop him. Angelina was doing the same to George and Harry even looked ready to clobber Malfoy into the ground.
"Fred don't!-" Sophia insisted. "-He's trying to wind you up!"
Fred didn't seem to be hearing her and was looking over the top of her head at the team who was laughing and sniggering at Malfoy's hilarious allegations. It was now taking Angelina and Alicia Spinnet to hold George back who had pursed lips and his clenched fists, desperately trying to get through the girls' restraints.
"Don't you like the Weasleys' Potter?" Draco grinned at Harry who had veins now popping out from his neck in anger. Sophia wished that Harry would for once hold back his tongue as she couldn't hold back him as well, Fred already being too much for her. The Weasley was starting to push forward without much effort and making Sophia's heels skid across the grass, leaving marks of dirt in the usually immaculate greenery.
"Spend holidays there don't you? Can't see how you stand the stink," Malfoy roared with laughter as George slipped from Alicia and Angelina's grasps, only to be caught by Harry's own arm and stopped in his pursuit once again. It was surprising to see the usually calmer and gentler twin to be so riled up, but who wouldn't be in this situation?
"And what about you Lupin?" Malfoy turned his attention to the girl who now had her back to Fred, forcefully pushing back to stop him moving around her. She knew what was coming and knew she could handle the little dweeb but she was worried for Fred as he was starting to push her forwards enough to be within arms reach of the Slytherin. "Never understood how you could be with such a menace. But I guess when your dad's an animal; you're pretty much in your element. The smell's probably the same."
"You fucking little-"
"Fred stop it!" the second roar of laughter had nearly left Fred completely unrestrained. Sophia's hands were able to stay clenched around his Quiddtich robes and reel him back towards her, putting herself in front of him again. He tried to pull away but Sophia was sure to stop him, clamping her hands on to the sides of his clenched jaw and looking into his infuriated eyes. They had a similar look that she saw when he had jumped in between her and Harry, only it was much more threatening and violent. Pushing this aside, Sophia let her small hands soothe his hot-to-touch skin and quietly plead for him to stop. "Please Freddie, don't do this. He's not worth it. You're better than him."
He said nothing but relaxed at the calm voice and clear grey eyes that burned into his. Fred's fists went limp at his sides and he felt his shoulders sag from their stiff posture. The fury was still there inside but it was deep enough to be able to be controlled and smothered over by the calming and soothing presence that radiated from Sophia. In a trance-like state, Fred was able to nod his head and make Sophia beam back at him in gratitude.
While Fred was contained, George and Harry weren't fortunate enough to have the same meditation to stop. They had finally popped and successfully outnumbered Malfoy in an old-fashioned fist fight. Madam Hooch came along eventually and broke up the fight, leaving George with a swollen lip and Harry with a black eye. Malfoy was worse off on the floor with blood streaming out of his nose and putting on a very 'convincing' show in front of the Quidditch coach.
