《Ethereal ✭Fred Weasley✭》48.

Sophia found herself sitting on the sofa facing Fred with George sitting in the armchair to her right. The fire continued to burn in the fireplace and emitted its usual orange glow that matched the twins' hair and complimented their bright Quidditch robes. Fred had ahold of Sophia's bleeding hand and was rubbing the Murtlap Essence over it after giving it a good clean with a simple cleaning spell. Sophia stared at Fred's face as he was focusing on her wound and delicately grasping her small hand, being silent ever since they had all sat down. George had already nodded off into a sleep in his chair, his head back against the cushions with his mouth open to emit obnoxious snores.
The girl found herself feeling immensely anxious from Fred's out of character silence, knowing that he was hiding what he was really feeling. He did say that he wasn't going to say anything about how she had gotten detention from a member of the Ministry even though she was supposed to be lying low. But his stand-offish attitude was keeping Sophia constantly on edge. She thought that in any second he was going to jerk his head up and enrol on a rant about how careless she was to confront Professor Umbridge in the way she did. Or worse, she thought Fred would just sit here and stay silent for the rest of his life in a form of way to get back at her.
When it soon became unbearable, Fred conjured a bandage from his wand that tightly wrapped around her hand. It stung slightly but it wasn't as big of a sting as it was to sit there in silence with her stubborn boyfriend.
"Please say something..." she pleaded. Fred looked up from Sophia's hand with raised eyebrows to see her sad eyes and nervous expression. Still holding her small hand in his, Fred sighed aloud.
"What do you want me to say?" Fred shrugged his shoulders. His lack of usual playful exterior was unnerving and was replaced with a look that was exhausted and done with the situation.
"Anything... or hex me with a forever-growing hair charm. Please don't just sit here and say nothing to me..." Sophia was now ready to get on her knees. But what she didn't know was that Fred was fuming on the inside. Not with her but with Dolores Umbridge. Yes Sophia was partly responsible for speaking the way she did to a Witch she knew who was not to be messed with, but it didn't cover the fact that the woman had scarred his girlfriend's soft skin. Seeing the words etched into her flesh and covered with blood had set something off inside of Fred and the only way to not burst into a murderous rampage, was to be silent and keep his emotions at bay.
"Okay well..." Fred started and braced himself to have at least some control. "You're a twit for doing what you did."
Sophia nodded along with a small sense of relief of him admitting of her stupidity. She sat waiting for more as her shoulders were tense for whatever Fred would throw at her, but she was left in that position for a while. Fred looked as if he was fighting with himself, his lips pursed together in attempts to smother some mighty curse words he knew she wouldn't appreciate.

"And?..." Sophia tried to egg him on. He had been looking away from her until then but quickly shot his deep brown eyes up to meet hers, the fire that was deep inside him now visible for Sophia to see.
"And I want to hang Umbitch by her feet in the Great Hall."
"Fred!" Sophia exclaimed in shock.
"What? You asked me to say something and I did."
Sophia slouched in her seat with her eyes still wide, taking in Fred's murderous look with pure amazement. She knew Fred could sometimes get frustrated and angry, and also knew he could be quite protective of her. But never had she thought her usually playful and cheeky boyfriend would say something so brutal. None the less, Sophia couldn't help but agree wholeheartedly with him. She hated the woman now more than she has ever hated someone before.
"Well... good to know," Sophia cleared her throat and nodded her head once again. "Thank you for saying something."
"No problem."
The two were eloped in another state of silence, the fire growing dimmer and dimmer as the logs it was occupying were burning fast. Sophia was biting her lip in awkwardness as Fred sat in front of her with his elbow leaning against the back of the sofa, letting his cheek lean against his fist as he stared into the diminishing fire. Running through her mind were some things Sophia thought of saying but she couldn't find one that suited the moment.
"Harry apologised to me today," Sophia found herself admitting. She saw in the corner of her eye Fred look from the fire to her, eyeing her side profile with now tired looking eyes. It was coming up to midnight now and Sophia was starting to feel tired as well and seeing George fast asleep in the armchair was not helping.
"Good. That'll save him a couple bruises," Fred replied and Sophia lightly laughed, easing the tension her mind fooled her into creating.
"So... you're not mad at me?" Sophia made sure and she relaxed entirely when Fred displayed his lop-sided smile.
"No love, I'm not," he leaned over and pecked her on the lips, taking her injured hand gently in his for good measure. "Just try not to do it again."
"Alright Dad," Sophia rolled her eyes playfully.
"Hey, it's Grandpa to you," Fred stood from the sofa and stretched his arms up with a strangled groan. "Let's go to bed. Angelina had us doing laps around the pitch the whole evening."
"She's Captain now?" Sophia followed after him with a ruffle of her hair.
"Yeah, she's takin' it seriously too."
Fred walked around the sofa and started making his way towards the stairs that lead up to the boys' dormitory. Sophia went to follow but stopped suddenly, looking between Fred who was leaving and George who was still dead asleep in the arm chair. His mouth was now wide open making him look mightily attractive and even a string of drool was leaking down his chin.
"Shouldn't we wake up Georgie?" she asked as she pointed a finger at the sleeping Weasley. Fred looked over shoulder just before stepping on to the stairs.
"What do I look like? His twin or something?" Fred shrugged his shoulders with a fake offended look. Sophia gave him a look that included a raised eyebrow and a tight frown, making Fred roll his eyes and saunter back over to stand next to George's sleeping form. He reeled his arm back and whacked his brother over the head, making the boy jump up from his slouched position and make a sort of yelp of surprise. His eyes were now wide as George wiped the bottom of his chin, looking disorientated from the rude awakening.

"There," Fred stated before grabbing hold of Sophia's wrist and walking hurriedly back towards the stairs. He pulled Sophia up to the dormitory and entered through the wooden door without considering Lee who was asleep in his bed. The boy jumped up much like George did and groaned as the light from the corridor entered into the once dark room, Sophia and Fred's silhouettes allowing him to know who had stormed in.
"Can you guys please not shag in here tonight?" Lee grumbled as he smothered his face into his pillow. Sophia blushed at the mention but Fred just pulled off all his clothes and left himself in his boxers, slipping under the covers of his unmade bed with a sigh.
"We don't shag, Lee," Sophia mumbled embarrassingly. Lee ignored her and just tried to get back to sleep, leaving Sophia to stand next to Fred's bed awkwardly. She hadn't slept in his bed very much since they started dating but she couldn't deny that it was one of the things she loved to do with Fred. Cuddling up to his side was always the best way to fall asleep and she knew he liked having her next to him as well.
Sophia wordlessly picked up the Quidditch jersey that Fred had just thrown off and decided it would be her sleeping attire for tonight. She eyed Fred's figure that she could barely make out in the dark and started to undress from her uniform. She couldn't quite tell if he had shut his eyes or if he was facing the other way, but she was too tired to care at this point. She was sure Fred had probably seen her undergarments when she did sleep in his bed, considering she would sometimes wake up with the shirt she wore hitched up to sit under her breasts as a result from a restless sleep.
Getting in beside Fred, Sophia sighed in relief at the warm covers that enclosed around her. Fred immediately wrapped his arms around her middle and pulled her closer to him, reminiscing in the feeling of finally having her next to him. She had snuck into his and George's temporary room back at Grimmauld Place once during the holidays, but the anxiety of Molly walking in when the morning rolled round was too much for Sophia. She told Fred to apparate her back into her room with Ginny and Hermione when she woke up, receiving an unintelligible grunt from Fred as he reached blindly for his wand that was on the bedside table. He had whisked her back into her room before apparating back into his own bed, falling asleep again immediately.
Sophia wrapped her arms around Fred's broad shoulders and nuzzled her face into his neck, the two closer than ever in Fred's warm bed. The pain that was once in Sophia's hand had numbed over time and it let her fall asleep peacefully in the arms of her boyfriend.
The Great Hall was buzzing as usual. The wall of the Entrance Hall outside now was covered in official decrees set by Professor Umbridge with approval from the Ministry. The decrees were now becoming ridiculous with things like proper uniform had be worn in a presentable manner and food wasn't allowed to be taken out of the Great Hall from meal times. Two of the decrees were being completely ignored by Fred Weasley. This could be seen at the Gryffindor table that morning as he sat next to Sophia with his bottom-up shirt sticking out messily from under his jumper and his sleeves pushed up to his elbows. This violated one of Umbridge's decrees. To make matters worse, he also had his arm hooped around the waist of his girlfriend while continuously trying to press his lips against hers for more than just the peck he got when she sat down this morning.
"Fred stop!" Sophia laughed as Fred tried to catch her lips with his. She was attempting to move her face to the side in order to get away from him, but the arm around her middle was stopping her from scooting away down the bench. "What's wrong with you today?"
"We were working on some of the Wonder Witch stuff yesterday," George stated from across the table. "Maybe some of the Love Potions have left an effect on him."
"Fred, this is ridiculous," Sophia huffed when Fred did for a moment press his lips to hers, only to have her turn her head to the side again with annoyance. She had been prepared to hex him away from her but was afraid that Umbridge would see her using magic outside of classrooms and not for study purposes. She just had to settle with avoiding his snogging the normal way.
"Come on love, just one," Fred leaned forward again with his eyes latched on to her lips, only to be suddenly blown away from her with a powerful spell. The two looked at the huge space now between them on the bench with shock before looking over their shoulders to see Professor Umbridge standing there with her wand in hand and that wretched smile on her face.
"Might I remind you Mr Weasley that boys and girls aren't to be within eight inches of each other under Educational Decree thirty-one," the woman spoke to Fred who now sat with his mouth open and with a fierce glare. "And your uniform Mr Weasley, is hardly appropriate for a classroom environment."
With a flick of Umbridge's wand, Fred's shirt was tucked into his trousers and his sleeves pulled back down to his wrists. She had even been able to straighten his tie that was loosely inside his collar causing a small chocking sound to come out of his throat at it's unexpected tightening. The woman beamed brightly and glanced at George and Sophia who sat in shock, running over their uniforms in the mean time. Luckily, Sophia always dressed appropriately and George was always known as the somewhat neater twin. Umbridge then nodded to herself before walking off towards the exit with her head held high in pride.
