《Ethereal ✭Fred Weasley✭》40.

The feeling that Fred felt in his stomach when he saw Sophia's banged up body being levitated through the halls by Professor Snape was something indescribable. He had been waiting with Remus in the Great Hall when he had decided to go back to the common room in hopes of maybe finding the girl, leading to the unusual sight of Professor Snape just turning the corner of a hallway. Fred caught only a glance of Sophia's face that hung limply in the air but it was enough to make him break into a run to follow after the Professor. He did have half a mind to run back into the Great Hall to alert her father but the only thing that was on his mind at that moment was seeing what the situation was with Sophia.
Professor Snape walked under the archway of the Hospital wing making Professor McGonagall look up from where she stood beside Harry's own bed, seeing the Gryffindor being lowered into the bed next to her. Harry pushed himself into a sitting position as his eyes were wide at the sight of Sophia's ghastly appearance, her skin was a pale grey with patches of dirt and scratches dawned any visible sign of flesh.
"Alastor says she was unconscious for the whole time she was accompanying him in the chest," Snape explained to McGonagall, a bored tone laced through his voice. "A powerful sleeping draught must have been used. I did notice that some of my Flobberworm Mucus and Valerian Sprigs were missing from my supplies. I suspected Potter at first."
Harry caught the sneer that Snape briefly threw at him but didn't have the time to feel angry about the prosecution. But he was glad to see the back of the Professor as he left the Hospital wing, leaving Sophia in the hands of the nurse and her head of house. His mind was too busy with the image of Cedric's murder and the horrifying transformation of Mad-Eye Moody to Barty Crouch Jr. And now that Sophia looked like a second from death, Harry felt like he could sleep for a week from exhaustion and trauma. Madam Pomfrey rushed over from her table of various potions and began looking over the girl, McGonagall saying that she will go and find Mr. Lupin to alert him of his Daughter's whereabouts.
"Oh Mr Weasley, one of the people I was going to find," Professor McGonagall rushed to Fred who had just run into the hospital wing. "I think its best you stay with Miss Lupin until I bring Mr Lupin here."
The woman disappeared through the corridors and Harry watched as Fred spotted him and Sophia in their beds side by side. The tall boy hurried over to the left side of Sophia's bed and crouched down into a squatting position, his eyes filled with worry as he scanned over her appearance. Madam Pomfrey started to use a damp cloth that was riddled with a potion to dab at her cheek while putting the back of her hand against Sophia's forehead, taking her temperature with a nurse's instinct.
"Where was she?" Fred asked to Harry, looking up over to the boy who had his own scrapes and pale complexion.
"Moody wasn't actually Moody... Barty Crouch's son was using Polyjuice potion and keeping the real one in a chest. Sophia was there too..." Harry briefly murmured but didn't feel like reliving the past few hours. He just wanted to lay down and sleep but was told specifically not to by Madam Pomfrey. Fred took what Harry said gratefully by nodding at him and turning his attention back to the unconscious girl. He looked down at her limp hand that was laying near his on the mattress and enlaced his fingers with hers. He swallowed down his dry throat and felt the full effect of guilt and sorrow settle into his being, hating every moment of seeing the girl he adored so weak and ill in her bed. There was a pinch of relief in knowing that she was alive, but it was too little to overpower his worry.

"Oh dear," Molly Weasley's voice sounded from behind Fred, making him look over his shoulder to see nearly the whole clan of Weasley's rushing over to them. Hermione accompanied them as she and Ron went to Harry for a moment before looking at both Sophia and Fred in their almost pitiful position.
"What happened?" Arthur asked as he looked at Sophia's unconscious state and glanced at Fred for an answer. His hand holding hers didn't go unnoticed by Charlie and Bill who had made an appearance to watch the first task. But Fred wasn't in the mood to be teased by his older brother's, keeping his gaze on his mum and dad who looked at him and Harry worriedly.
"It's a lot to explain..." Harry started but Fred butt in with almost a bitter tone.
"She was held captive by a Death Eater," his words caused the Weasleys' and Hermione to have their breath hitch in their throats. Judging by Fred's hard look that didn't break even for a second, the Weasley's could see how serious the usual jokester was. George was quite surprised to see the frown on his twin's face but could understand his bitterness. But it did come as quite a surprise for Molly and Arthur who knew of the two's relationship but not the full extent.
"She'll be okay though right?" Ginny inquired to Madam Pomfrey who had just put a large patch over Sophia's cheek to cover her graze.
"Oh yes she'll be fine, as will Mr Potter here," the nurse stood to her full height and nodded to the two children in the hospital beds. "Just a good rest and a potion to return them to their full strength should do it."
With that, the woman walked away back to her office to leave the group to chat. On her departure, Remus Lupin suddenly appeared in the room with a searching expression. When spotting the group, he walked hurriedly over and slipped through the gap that Ron and Bill made for him to see his daughter. The man stopped in his tracks when he caught sight of the girl's state, his expression looking aghast at her condition.
"Not to worry Remus," Mrs Weasley spoke up first and placed a hand on his shoulder. "She's alright. A bit peaky but she'll be-"
"What did Crouch say?" Remus cut the poor woman off as he whipped his head round to look down at Harry. The boy wasn't expecting to be confronted by his previous Professor and sat there for a moment, not saying anything in shock. "Dumbledore said you heard him say something about Sophia. What did he say?"
"H-He said he was interested in her. That Voldemort was interested in her," Harry's words made a tense air fall over the group, Remus especially looking cold and dis-hearted.
Remus looked down at his daughter once more with dark eyes, not even taking into account the fact that Fred's hand was clasping hers tightly. He felt emptiness inside of him that he hadn't felt for a long time. It was the same feeling he felt when he had found out that Fenrir Greyback had ripped apart his wife Hazel, and the ambition he had that Sophia was now his top priority returned considerably. He was sure that if he were to face a Boggart now, it would form the image of Lord Voldemort standing over Sophia's trembling body. Everything had changed now, and Remus didn't like it one bit.

"Molly, Arthur may I speak to you in private for a moment?" he turned to face the two Weasleys', who looked confused but agreed to follow him out of the hospital wing.
"Feel a bit sorry for 'im don't you?" Ron announced through the silence. "Can't seem to get a moment of peace."
"Everything's going to change now isn't it?" Hermione mumbled to no one in particular. But she did grab the attention of everyone awake in the room, pondering over her words that had a deep truth to them. They believed Harry's accusations of He Who Must Not Be Named being back, and it caused a shiver to run down everyone's spine. They could only hope that they would be prepared for the future, even if they were only young wizards and witches.
When Sophia did wake, she had never been so disorientated in her life. All she could remember was having Professor Moody standing over her with his wand pointing at her before it all turned black. Waking up to being in the hospital wing was not what she thought she would first encounter, nor was the sight of Fred asleep in the chair next to her something she expected. His long frame was sprawled over the uncomfortable wooden chair with his fingers barely touching the ground in his sleeping state. Harry also surprised her as he was in the bed next to her, asleep with a healthy glow to his skin. The potion that both him and her had been given in their sleep had rejuvenated them back to their full physical health, only a few scratches now present.
Fred snored so loud at one point that he woke himself up, jumping in his spot with hazy eyes and a grunt. He rubbed his eyes and sat up straight in his chair, seeing that Sophia was sitting up in bed fully awake.
"Soph!" Fred stated as he cleared his throat. When she didn't say anything, he realised that she was staring oddly down at her hands as if she had never seen them before. "Um... You okay love?"
"Yeah... yeah I'm okay," she said unsurely.
"Right..." Fred replied while wearingly watching her put her hands down on her lap and looking up at him. "Are you hungry? Thirsty? Hurting anywhere?"
"I could do with some Pumpkin Juice," Sophia suggested with a sudden hopeful look like a child would when offered some ice cream. "I would die for some Treacle Tart too baby."
"Baby?!" Fred repeated with shock. Never had he ever thought she would call him something other than Frederick, Weasley or an idiot. Seeing as she didn't seem like herself at the moment, Fred just stood to his feet with a nod. "A-Alright then love... I'll be back with your um, tart and juice."
Sophia nodded her head at him as he started making his way out of the room, not noticing that he was looking over his shoulder constantly to see if she would object or say anything else. When she didn't, he exited the room fully and started to make his way towards the kitchens of Hogwarts. Sophia was left to her thoughts and the odd feeling of disorientation and loopyness faded after a while, remembering the events that must have happened while she was asleep. Seeing as Harry was sleeping peaceful in the bed next to her, she could sigh in a form of relief at the fact that he hadn't been the champion who was killed. But she could tell that someone had, as the quietness in the Hospital wing as well as the whole castle held an eerie sense to it. One that you would feel at the reception of a funeral. She also remembered that she had lost hold of her map when blasted across the courtyard by the imposter, putting her in a silent state of panic.
"Ah Miss Lupin," a voice made her look up to see Professor Dumbledore standing at the end of her bed, looking down at her with his usual soft expression. "Good to see you're awake and well."
"I suppose the last task went horribly huh?" Sophia laughed with no humour yet the Headmaster's face didn't falter from its relaxed position.
"Yes unfortunately, although you already knew that before any of us did," the man shot her a pointed look. She was speechless as Dumbledore obviously knew about her abilities and the fact she had seen the events of the third task before they'd even happened. Sophia was going to attempt to deny his unsaid allegations, but was stopped when he spoke before she could try.
"What you do have is a gift Miss Lupin. Many would love to have the abilities that you do," the old man stood with his hands clasped together. "This would include, I am sorry to say people who would use these abilities for their own benefit. And you've probably also worked out that the imposter playing Professor Moody was under the orders of one of those people."
Sophia said nothing once again but nodded her head, motioning that she understood. Unconsciously reaching up to fiddle with the chain of the necklace Fred had given her at Christmas, she thought about how she trusted Professor Dumbledore and was glad that he was the one to see her with this matter first. But she couldn't ignore the heavy stone in her stomach that was a reminder of the dangerous situation she was in.
"And not to worry about your map," Professor Dumbledore spoke up again. "I made sure to personally retrieve it before the Ministry arrived to raid Crouch's office. It is in your trunk in your dormitory."
She only nodded gratefully before she went to open her mouth to ask the question that had been on her mind since she woke up, only to have the Headmaster speak again.
"It was Mr Diggory," was all Dumbledore needed to say to answer her unspoken question. "And you will regret to hear that He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, has indeed returned."

The Ruined Monks of Rothfield Monastery
Erin is the youngest member of the dark monks; a supernatural brotherhood whose ultimate mission is to improve the dire circumstances of poor, war-torn villages using powers unique to each member. Or so he was led to believe. Erin, like his brothers, does not age, and that is, unfortunately, the only trait he shares with them. He cannot charm or compel like Woodrow, he cannot cast illusions like Knox, he was not swift like Swithin, not powerful like Blake. He was barely an assistant to his dear brother Wilbur, with his herbology and alchemy. He was told to lie low and make himself scarce. That is what he did. The dark monks temporarily reside in abandoned monasteries scattered around the country, feeding the poor and healing the sick, nurturing the monastic lands until it was fertile enough to raise crops and rear animals. As the years passed, they would leave these reformed, repopulated, self-sustaining monasteries and venture froth to help the next settlement. Yet, after years of toiling and quiet servitude, Erin notices that people and the country itself are declining. The villagers look gaunt, the once-lush soil now barren and cracked. He begins to feel disheartened, thinking that their mission is proving futile. Still, their leader Blake is steadfast and charges onward, and lately has his eyes set on a certain monastery in a thick, thorned forest that seems to diminish, even nullify their powers. A thick forest that Erin somehow has a connection to. A thorned glade where an ethereal voice calls his name with one simple request along with a promise:Heal the land, child. Heal the land and I promise to give you sanctuary so long as you stay. I promise to nurture you as you nurture me. As Erin cultivates the land, the land, in turn, gifts all its caretakers with new, enhanced skillsets on top of their unique powers -- skills of protection, healing, and magic. Magic. Erin had long wished to see the world fill with it again. The people, regardless of common or noble blood, still believe that magic will enter this world again. Magic to bless the king like it did the Saints. Magic to dispel the miasma befouling the world. Magic to bring back the fae folk and their many forms. It is up to Erin to forge the many paths leading to a bright future; to build a prosperous paradise that welcomes all races and bloodlines, by mastering the rewards gained through agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry, smithing, crafting, and fishing. Erin may also find a lifelong friendship and romance with his neighbor, Claude, if he decides to pursue him, and may even join him in the military campaign outside the monastery. The darkness still lurks outside, after all, and the mastery of his skills, along with a few good friends, may finally be enough to turn the tide in their favor. Most of all, Erin wants to keep the vow he set for himself: to protect everyone and everything he loves until his dying breath.
