《Ethereal ✭Fred Weasley✭》26.

It was soon time to board the Hogwarts Express at Platform 9 and ¾, and the oldest of the Weasley family were ushering all the children through the wall and on to the platform. Arthur and Molly were continuously trying to fix their trolleys and trunks of their own children, and even trying to fix Harry, Hermione and Sophia's. Bill and Charlie were having their own giggle fest when Molly Weasley started to try and fix Ron's long hair, making him groan and attempt to swat her away.

"Leave it Mum!" Ron moaned when Molly licked her thumb and started rubbing it against his chin where she had found a spot of dirt.

"I think Ickle Ronnie-kins has some dirt on his cheek too Mum," George poked and Molly immediately started searching Ron's skin for more dirty spots. Ron glared fiercely at his brother as him and his siblings all sniggered collectively, as well as Hermione, Harry and Sophia laughing behind their hands.

"Alright, well enjoy your trip! Don't mess around! I'm looking at you Fred and George," Arthur narrowed his eyes at the twins, who beamed brightly with a look of fake innocence. Sophia rolled her eyes when Fred pulled something out of his pocket, sneakily showing it to George as they both had knowing looks on their face. It must of been some of their Tongue Toffee's or something. She started to roll her trolley towards the compartment of the train that held the students' trunks and belongings for the trip, about to start lifting her things when a voice stopped her.

"I'll help you Sophia," Charlie appeared next to her and lifted her brown trunk with ease.

"Oh thanks Charlie, you don't have to," she said gratefully, watching the boy unload her things into the small compartment. She noticed his arms had small burns and grazes on them that must have come from his job in Romania with Dragons, and grimaced subtly at how gruesome they must have been.

"Don't mention it, a lady shouldn't have to do this on her own," Charlie cocked the side of his mouth up into a lop-sided grin, something that most of Weasleys seemed to do. His brown eyes flickered from Sophia's face to something behind her, before he leaned slightly closer to talk in a quieter voice. "And Freddie really should be helping you instead of me, but now he's just glaring at me from across the platform."

Sophia looked over her shoulder to where the Weasleys were still standing to see that Fred was looking over at her and Charlie with a deep frown. Molly started to usher him and the people around him on to the train, making his attention turn to the Hogwarts Express. Sophia turned back to Charlie who was still standing there with a smug look on his face, noticing how much radiation of jealousy was pulsating off his younger sibling. It hadn't gone unnoticed by the Weasley family of Fred and Sophia's little moments over the summer, Charlie and Bill especially noticing Fred's little stares and sneaky looks. They found it quite adorable, as Fred always put up the masculine façade when it came to girls. Seeing him so mushy and sweet was gag-worthy as well as the cutest thing ever.

"Go on, Fred's probably waiting for you," Charlie moved Sophia towards the entrance and made sure she was up on the train, before joining Bill, Arthur and Molly. Percy hadn't come because of his beloved new job at the Ministry with Mr Barty Crouch, but not many of them saw that as a bad thing.

"We'll see you at Christmas!" Ginny called out from one of the windows of the train, waving at her parents and eldest brothers.

"Oh I don't think you'll be wanting to come home for Christmas!" Arthur called back with a wave. "But enjoy yourself! Remember to write!"

Once the train had started moving and disappeared around the bend of the railway, Sophia started to follow Hermione, Ron and Harry to a compartment of their own. They settled down and started chatting about their upcoming year as well as the Quidditch match disaster. Ron mentioned that his dad was under quite a bit of stress from the incident at the Ministry, saying that the Ministry was actually afraid of the fact of how it all happened with the amount of security that was situated on the site.

"You were right about a House Elf being in despair Sophia," Hermione mentioned and she looked back at her confused. "The Ministry think that Mr Crouch's Elf Winky conjured the Dark Mark with Harry's wand. She was dismissed from her duty by Crouch himself. I think it's barbaric."

"There's no way a House Elf could conjure a Dark Mark," Sophia shook her head. "That Crouch seems like a right old grouch anyway."

The trip to Hogwarts was eventless to say the most. No Dementors disrupted the ride, to which resulted in many students sighing in relief. Sophia found herself wondering about how her father was doing back at home, and if he had been able to find another interview for a job. She knew he was struggling, and wished that he would return to Hogwarts. Dumbledore would surely accept him again, and lots of people at school said that he was the best Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher there's been at Hogwarts in years. But his problem was known about now, making it difficult to return to how it once was.

Sophia had dressed in her robes and was sitting next to Hermione on the carriage up to the castle. Rain had began to fall when they stepped out of the horse-less carriage, and students pulled their hoods over their heads as they ran into the Entrance Hall. Sophia and Hermione laughed when Ron slipped in the mud and fell into a puddle, with Harry attempting to help him up without slipping himself.

"I'm sure your mum can rub that off with her thumb Ronald" Hermione teased. Ron glared back at the girl and flushed deep red, making his way into the castle with a deep frown at his misfortune.

They settled down at the Gryffindor table and talked animatedly at the line up of teachers at the table at the front of the hall. No new faces were there, meaning that the Defence Against the Dark Arts position hadn't been filled. Unless Professor Snape had finally got what he wanted, but most of the school doubted Dumbledore would have allowed that.

"Looking a little drowned there Sophia," Lee Jordan sat down nearby at the table with Fred and George in tow. Fred settled himself next to her, completely dry from the rain outside. Unlike him, Sophia's hair was frazzled and wet from the rain. Good thing her robes took most of the rainfall, as her uniform underneath was bone dry.

"Shush you," Sophia glared at the boy from across the table. She then started to feel warm air blowing from her right, making her turn her head to see Fred with his wand out and drying her off with a Hot-Air charm. She narrowed her eyes at him and he shrugged his shoulders at her pointed look.

"What? I don't want to be sitting next to a drowned rat."

Sophia swatted at his wand and gasped in offence. She still hadn't said anything to him about how he and George had used her prediction of the Quidditch match to win the bet with Ludo Bagman. She hadn't had the time to fully scold him for it, but was saving it for the feast when he was least expecting it. Although, now seemed like a good time as the grin on Fred's face irked her to no end.

"I'm joking Soph!" Fred laughed as she continued to swat at his arm. She was fully dry now, but being called a drowned Rat by a boy that she had held hands on occasions with wasn't the best feeling . "You're much better looking than a rat, love."

Sophia halted her swatting and felt her face heat up. She was glad that her friends around her were too immersed in their own conversations to notice how red her face had gone, but it didn't help that Fred had noticed. He threw his arm around her shoulder and pulled her into his side with the same bright grin that he frequently wore around her. She squealed when she felt her shoulder slam against Fred's surprisingly hard chest, and blushed even more when she curved into Fred's figure with ease from her small frame.

"Aww are you blushing Ickle-Soph?" Fred cooed and started to rub his knuckle against the side of her head with his unoccupied hand. "Did I actually embarrass a Werewolf's daughter with my charismatic words? You'd think I'd be a Weasley with all this charm!"

"Welcome back to another year at Hogwarts!" Professor Dumbledore had taken his place at the podium in front of the tables. Fred stopped his teasing and let Sophia sit up straight on the bench, but kept his long arm perfectly curved around her shoulders to keep her close at his side. Sophia attempted to ignore the continuous butterflies that occupied her stomach, and tried to listen on what Dumbledore had to say for this year. After the basics of not going into the Forbidden Forest and no magic in the hallways (which never was listened to), the Headmaster said something that caused a small uproar at most of the tables separated by house.

"I'm sad to say that there shall be no Quidditch House cup this year."

"What?!" Fred and George exclaimed together, followed by other means of protest from Oliver Wood and other members of the Gryffindor team. Sophia was a little disappointed to hear of this, as she had grown quite fond of Quidditch in the past year and a bit. Especially when one of the Beaters of the team was quite handsome and sweet towards her and only her.

"Instead of this," Dumbledore's authoritative voice silenced most of the murmurs. "We shall be playing host to a rather special event this year. Two neighbouring schools shall be arriving in later months, to celebrate the coming together of international co-operation! We shall be hosting the Tri-Wizard Tournament!"

Even more murmurs and whispers burst through the Great Hall, as some students knew of the tournament. Hermione took it upon herself to inform those around her about the event, as most of them looked confused.

"It's in Hogwarts; a History. They have it every few years for supposed 'eternal glory'," Hermione used her fingers to mimic the quotation marks around her words. "I think it's horrible. People die in this tournament you know."

A shudder ran down Sophia's spine at Hermione explanation. This must have been what Mr Weasley was hinting towards back at King's Cross station. Professor Dumbledore continued to briefly explain about the tournament, and that the school's Beauxbatons Academy and Durmstrang School shall be arriving for it. This peaked Sophia's interest, as it meant that maybe some of her past friends from Beauxbatons would come to the event. It had been a while since she had last sent an owl to her friends, but it seemed that they had grown apart in her time at Hogwarts. She had made more friends that she saw more frequently, and she supposed that her friends at Beauxbatons had too.

A bang of a door suddenly echoed throughout the hall, immediately silencing any chatter from students. Everyone's head whipped towards the end of the teacher's table where a hunched-over man limped into the hall with a large walking stick and scrappy looking hair. Sophia watched as the man grunted as he made his way over to Professor Dumbledore, who displayed a welcoming smile and shook the man's hand. He had a strange looking eye that swiveled around in his head, looking at all of the staring students who sat with their jaws to the floor.

"Blimey, that's Mad-Eye Moody," Ron said in disbelief.

"Alastor Moody? The Auror?" Hermione went to confirm.

"Auror?" Dean Thomas repeated in confusion.

"Dark Wizard catcher," Ron explained, following the man with shifty eyes. "Half the cells in Azkaban are full because of him. They say he's mad as a Hater these days."

"May I introduce our new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, Professor Alastor Moody," Professor Dumbledore introduced and went to applaud, but was left solo as most people were still watching Mad-Eye Moody make his way to the teacher's table and start stabbing hungrily at a sausage with his fork.

"What a ghastly looking man..." Sophia mumbled. He had scars that covered his face, as well as a misshapen nose that looked as if a huge chunk had been taken out of it. She watched as the enlarged eye of his swiveled around while he ate, looking at Harry for a moment longer before briefly settling on herself. She shuddered when it stared deeply as if looking into her, and attempted to shuffle closer to Fred next to her who still had his arm curved around her shoulders.

"He looks like he'd set fire to his owl or something because it looked at him funny," Fred joked into her ear. Sophia lightly laughed and found herself settling once again, as Professor Moody had now gone to stare at someone else in the hall. Professor Dumbledore spoke once again, making the Great Hall return to its usual welcoming atmosphere.

"Now please indulge in our magnificent feast!"

Food suddenly appeared on all the tables, and students immediately started to fill their plates with anything they could get their hands on. Sophia grabbed some lamb with vegetables and mashed potatoes, before digging in to fill her churning stomach. She thought about the up-coming tournament, and how she should probably consult her Sky map about it. Maybe she could read about the possible deaths that could occur, and try to convince those involved to not take part in it. Although, that could cause suspicion. She had heard stories about past Astronomers who have attempted to change the course of the future for their own benefit, only to result in a much worse fate. Apparently, when it comes to events like death or fixed moments in time, fate can sometimes attempt to make things right again.
