《Ethereal ✭Fred Weasley✭》7.

The next few days went by less eventful than Sophia's first, but still contained an amount of chaos that she didn't intend to have. Her classes were fantastic, and she had obviously found a love in Astronomy and Charms. Hermione had made sure that the two kept up with their homework, which Sophia appreciated and disliked at the same time. She still sat mostly with Harry, Ron and Hermione in classes and at meals in the Great Hall, but had found herself frequently sitting with Fred, George and their friend Lee Jordan.
It was apparent that Fred brushed off all the still circulating rumours about him and Sophia. In fact, it seemed like he almost was proud to be part of such gossip. He would frequently sit beside her at breakfast and dinner, and even sometimes sit next to her in the common room in their free time. He was always friendly and charming, which Sophia would feel her insides flutter at. His wide smile and attempts to make her laugh would make times outside of class entertaining and enjoyable for her, and even found herself anticipating their next encounter. She had almost completely forgotten about the people who would stare at her in the hallways, but did have a moment of relapse when a first-year Ravenclaw had come up to her in the hallway and asked,
"Is it true you're Fred Weasley's girlfriend?"
This of course had made her blush deep red and shake her head vigorously. But the first-year merely shrugged before walking back towards her group of friends and walking off in another blanket of gossip. When Sophia had mentioned this to Fred when seeing him next, the boy laughed and said,
"Gee didn't know we had taken that new step! Mum's gonna be thrilled!"
Fred was very good at making Sophia view the whole situation as just some pointless teenage entertainment, to which she was relieved about. She continued to watch some of the Gryffindor Quidditch practice sessions with Hermione, and hadn't been hit by any bludgers, quaffels or snitches. She chose to do this as she did find herself enjoying watching Fred in particular, with his amazing ability to whack Bludgers away from his teammates without breaking much of a sweat. Little did she know, that Fred indulged in the fact that Sophia had continued to come watch him play. The constant teasing from his brother George and Lee boosted his confidence even more and found himself checking every time he hit Bludger to see if Sophia was watching him. And every time, they both found she was.
Two weeks soon came to an end and it came to the much anticipated Hogsmeade weekend. Sophia had learnt that third-year and above students could visit the all-magical inhabited town near by which had various shops and places to socialise for witches and wizards. She had her father sign her permission slip before handing it to Argus Filch, the ever-scowling care taker of the school that she had learnt to avoid. Unfortunately, Harry hadn't got his permission slip signed so he wasn't allowed to go, making it just Ron, Hermione and Sophia going to Hogsmeade. But Fred and George said that they'd like to show her Zonko's Joke Shop personally, so she would be meeting up with them later.
Before heading down for breakfast, Sophia was looking through her trunk at the end of her bed for one of the few personal belongings she brought with her to Hogwarts. Hermione, Parvati and Lavender had all gone down to Breakfast already, making it safe for Sophia to bring out the tightly wrapped parchment that was pulled over two wooden handles. She sat down on her bed and pulled at the handles on the sides, stretching out the parchment to view a map.

The map held what looked to be constellations of the night sky above Hogwarts, showing where the stars and even the moon would be placed this coming night. Sophia looked over the collection of dots, noticing that they were slowly starting to show what she dreaded every month. It showed that her father was two weeks away from under-going his transformation, worrying her deeply as he was now at Hogwarts and at more of a risk of being around other people.
She sighed before rolling up the parchment back into a tight roll, and burying it under her clothes in her trunk. It was the reason why she excelled at Astronomy and had such an interest in becoming an Astronomer. Although there was a similar job in the muggle world for Astronomers, Sophia wanted to be part of the magical career which entailed reading the stars in order to glimpse into coming events and possible outcomes of the future. Centaurs especially worked in this field, and she admired their skill to see all that the sky has to offer. She had heard that her mother adored Astronomy at Beauxbatons in her young years, and it was her who left this Sky map to Sophia in the first place. It was extremely useful to keep track of her father's cycle, in order to ensure he and herself were safe when the time did come for him to transform. But no one knew of this map besides Remus and herself, as it was extremely valuable and has immense power when fallen into the wrong hands.
Sophia started to descend the stairs to the common room, dressed in yet another comfy jumper, jeans and some trainers. She found Hermione and Ron waiting for her, and the three set off towards the courtyard where all third-years would be told when they would have to return from their trip. Students were all heading towards the gates that led to Hogsmeade, bustling and excited to have the opportunity to leave the school grounds for even a couple of hours.
"Is there really no way to have Harry come?" Sophia asked the two beside her, feeling incredibly sorry for the boy who would have to stay at Hogwarts by himself.
"No, the Aunt and Uncle he lives with are mental", Ron answered from beside Hermione. "They don't like anything that's got to do with magic. They even used to make him sleep in a cupboard under the stairs until recently!"
"How awful..." Sophia said as the three entered the courtyard where third-years were waiting with Professor McGonagall. They went to join their year group when Sophia suddenly saw her father standing to the side, away from the students waiting anxiously. Sophia told Hermione and Ron to go ahead and that she'll catch up with them, before striding quickly over to her father who stood with his hands in the pockets of his slacks.
"What's wrong Dad?" she asked once she made to stand in front of him, immediately noticing his face looking paler than usual and the scars on his face somehow looking more gruesome. She knew he looked like this because of how close they were getting towards his monthly transformation, and felt her insides clench at the thought of her father's painful process.
"I just wanted to come see you off," Remus replied, a smile playing on his lips despite his ill-looking appearance. He pulled one of his hands out of his pocket and extended it out to Sophia, making her gasp and immediately shake her head.
"No I'm not taking this!" she cried as she pushed the handful of Galleons away from her, looking up at her father with a look of shock. "We can't afford to- "

"We can afford to now," Remus cut her off as he grabbed Sophia's hand and forced the coins into her palm. "I know for a fact that you don't have any money on you. And now that I've got this position here, we can afford to dabble lightly in some expenses."
Sophia's still looked extremely unsure at her father but saw the warm expression he wore that she admired so much. Remus looked happy to be able to give her some allowance, with his job finally letting the Lupins have some spending money. He retreated his hand back into his pocket, the same smile on his face as he watched Sophia reluctantly put the galleons safely into her jean pocket with a wholesome 'thank you'. She then looked back up with him, and finally asked what she had been worrying about recently.
"What are you gonna do in two weeks?" she said quietly, ensuring that no one close was listening to their conversation.
"Don't worry yourself Soph, I've got Professor Snape making me a potion of Wolfsbane in order to make me more competent during my transformation," Remus answered, knowing full well that his Daughter would be viewing his cycle on her Sky map. "I'll be able to lock myself in my office and stay there until the next morning."
"Professor Snape is making you a potion?" she exclaimed in disbelief. "He doesn't seem to be the person who would even give you the time of day!"
"For the safety of everyone at the school, Snape was able to put aside his hatred for me and make sure I wouldn't be on a rampage at the end of the month," Remus said with a smirk. "Although he wouldn't be doing it if it wasn't for Dumbledore's demands."
Sophia had told her father all about Professor Snape's dislike for her during her Potions class. Remus laughed at this, knowing full well that Snape had always disliked him and his friends because of the constant encounters they had when they all went to Hogwarts in their youths. Remus assured Sophia that Snape would never actually hurt or intend to trouble her yet would only give her a hard time in class and maybe a low grade on her report card.
"Now on to something a little more interesting," Remus said as he rocked back on to his heels for moment while staring down at his daughter with a new smirk of amusement. "Is it true that one of the Beaters of the Gryffindor Quidditch team threw himself in front of a bludger for you?"
"Oh my god, goodbye Dad," Sophia quickly started retreating towards the third-year group, blushing deep red once again at the fact that even her Father had heard about Fred's sacrifice.
"Be safe Sophia!" Remus cried after her with a wave, before retreating into the castle to continue grading some assignments from his fourth years.
Sophia walked with Hermione and Ron towards the small town of Hogsmeade, talking avidly about what they wanted to do on their visit. They agreed that they would visit The Three Broomsticks first to have a Butterbeer, before heading to Honeydukes to purchase some much-needed sweets to take back to the castle. Sophia was keen on buying some Chocolate Frogs to hopefully expand on her very small card collection, as well as take back a packet of Bertie Botts' Every Flavour Beans for her father who adored the delights. Her father had given her five galleons, which was enough money for what she wanted.
Once the three had settled down in The Three Broomsticks with their Butterbeers, they began to discuss the circumstances of their current trip. It was a wonder that they even allowed out of the castle, as Sirius Black was still lose out of Azkaban and posed as a threat to everyone. They also concluded that it must have been one of the reasons why Professor McGonagall had refused to sign Harry's permission slip, as the word had got around that Sirius Black was specifically targeting the boy.
"Harry can't seem to get a break, can he?" Sophia said as she looked around the pub that had plenty of Hogwarts students as customers.
"Well when you defeat You Know Who as a one-year-old, you're bound to have an eventful life," Hermione explained before three distinctive Hogwarts students appeared in front of the table the trio sat at, making them all look up to see Fred, George and Lee. Fred and George were both dressed identically, with beanies pushing back their red hair and grey sweaters dawning their torsos. It had begun to suddenly get a lot cooler, and the moment of warmth they had when they first arrived at Hogwarts had been short lived.
"Morning kiddies," George cheered before all three of them took a very squished seat on either side of Ron, Hermione and Sophia. Fred squeezed his tall frame in the space next to Sophia and the wall, while Lee and George sat next to Ron who grumbled at their sudden appearance. Sophia and Fred exchanged a quick smile, before Lee decided to speak up from his spot.
"How's your first drinks going in Hogsmeade?" he asked, and Ron immediately answered with scowl.
"Just fine until you lot showed up."
"Aren't you happy to see us Ickle-Ron?" Fred said in a fake offended voice. "You should be thanking us for not slipping a certain eight-legged arachnid into your glass!"
Ron suddenly paled and shoved his eye into his bottle of Butterbeer, peering inside for a spider that he had much developed a fear of. The group laughed at his paranoia, making the redhead growl and huff at his brother's teasing. Sophia had learnt that he had developed this fear from Fred and George, as they placed a huge spider on him while his sleeping one night when he was young. Apparently, they had both gotten a right earful from their mum, as Ron was now permanently terrified of spiders.
"Not to worry Ronnie-kins, we're only here to pick up Sophia to take her to see Zonko's," Fred stated before grabbing hold of the girl's wrist and pulling her to her feet. George and Lee followed and all bid Ron and Hermione goodbye.
Exiting the pub, Fred and Sophia started to walk next to each other as George and Lee chatted to each other in front of the two. Fred had let go of Sophia's wrist, much to both of their disappointment, but slipped his arm around her shoulders in a 'friendly' gesture. Sophia was brought against Fred's side in hidden delight and didn't fail to notice and George and Lee turn over their shoulders to glance at the two behind them.
"So anymore about our supposed 'wedding'?" Fred teased as he looked down at the girl pressed to his side. Sophia laughed nervously and Fred beamed down at her, waiting for her hopefully joking response.
"Well I had my dad ask about the incident, so the teachers are obviously going to have to be invited now," Sophia replied, and Fred groaned in fake annoyance.
"Great, I'm sure Snape will be a great pastor," he said with a roll of his eyes. "And Flitwick will be our ring bearer!"
