《Ethereal ✭Fred Weasley✭》5.

She stepped forward and waited for the legless spider to take the form of her greatest fear, knowing full well that her father's eyes were trained on her as well as the rest of the class. With a sudden 'Crack!', the huge arachnid suddenly changed into a huge, nearly hairless wolf. The creature stood on its horrifyingly tall back legs and bared its vicious teeth at the terrified girl, drool dripping out of the wolf's mouth as it stalked towards her. Professor Lupin stood to the side, the smile that once graced his scarred face disappeared and gulped at the sight of his very own daughter's Boggart. He was ready to step in front of the poor girl, until she raised her wand and cried,
"Riddikulus!"
The wolf shrunk considerably into a tiny chihuahua, yapping continuously as it shook in its place. The class had again erupted into laughter at the sight of the tiny dog that attempted to bark loudly at the people in front of it. Sophia cracked her own laugh before turning and walking towards the back of the line, allowing Harry to come to the front to stand in front of the Boggart. Remus's eyes followed Sophia's figure as she walked to the back of line, starting a conversation with Ron. He planned to keep her back after class in order to have a much-needed talk with his daughter.
Before Harry could have his Boggart change, Professor Lupin jumped in front of the boy and the Boggart began to buffer and change from its previous form. Sophia watched as a shining orb suddenly formed, creating the illusion of a full moon breaking a night sky's clouds. She already knew that her father's Boggart would form this and watched as Professor Lupin performed the Riddikulus charm. The orb deflated into a balloon, before exploding completely and signalling the abolishment of the Boggart.
The timely laughter died down when Professor signaled the end of the lesson, receiving a range of groans and 'awe's in disappointment. Harry met back with Hermione, Ron and Sophia in the classroom, confused at why Professor Lupin had jumped in front of him and that his Boggart had formed the full moon breaking through the clouds of a night sky. Sophia stayed silent at this wonder of the three and began to follow them out of the room when her father stopped her.
"Sophia, can I talk to you for a moment please?" Professor Lupin stood in front of the wardrobe that was now empty. Sophia and the trio looked at him, before Sophia nodded and motioned for the three to go on without her. The trio asked no questions at this, and said they'd meet her in Divination after Lunch in the Great Hall. Sophia walked towards her father with a sense of dread, hoping that he was only going to ask how her new friends and lessons were going. But she knew he was not going to stray from the obvious previous events.

"Is it really what you fear most?" Remus asked as he crossed his arms over his chest with his wand in his hand. Sophia bit her lip at her father's stern yet concerned tone, wishing that her Boggart had formed maybe into another fear of hers. Maybe her standing in front of the whole of Hogwarts in nothing but her undergarments would have been better.
"Partly..." Sophia answered as she shuffled her feet. "But not so much you in particular. More the man who did this to you."
Remus's shoulders slacked from their tense position, seeing his daughter's nervous yet embarrassed expression. He had thought that his own daughter was afraid of what he became, which hurt him deeply. Even though he had been sure she would never have to see him in that state, Remus hated the idea of Sophia being terrified of him and his problem. But seeing as he had found that she was afraid of who initially made him what he was, he felt a new form of respect and admiration towards his daughter.
"You don't think anyone was suspicious about our two Boggarts, do you?" Sophia asked as she peered up at him with a look of concern.
"I doubt it," Remus answered, with another kind smile forming on his face. "It would take a very bright witch or wizard to patch those two together. Now head off to Lunch, I'll see you at Dinner Soph."
For the rest of the day, Sophia enjoyed her lessons with Ron, Harry and Hermione (she seemed to pop up in all sorts of places where the rest of them were). She was even able to make some new friends in Gryffindor, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. She made sure to steer clear of Slytherins, as they all seemed to sneer and glare whenever she attempted to say something to them. In Potions, Sophia quickly learnt who Professor Snape was and why Neville Longbottom was so afraid of him. He had taken a particular dislike in her too, as he heard the name Lupin and immediately ridiculed her father for his scruffiness and lack of professionalism. But she was used to people poking fun at her and her father's financial state, and just hoped that most people would look past that and find that Sophia and Remus were very kind and sincere folk.
In Divination, she giggled occasionally with Ron and Harry when they would make comments about their spiritually aware teacher Professor Trelawney. They had to read the tea leaves of their partner, which for Sophia was Hermione who magically appeared out of nowhere. In this instance, Sophia didn't actually know how to read Hermione's tea leaves, so she improvised with seeing good grades in her future. This satisfied Hermione greatly, before she turned to Sophia's tea leaves and looked through her text book. Before she could open her mouth, Professor Trelawney appeared at their side.

"May I see your cup dear?" she asked, peering at the girl through her large round spectacles. Hermione handed Sophia's cup to the Professor with a look of uncertainty and even boredom, before the teacher turned to Sophia with raised eyebrows.
"Hmmmm my dear," Professor Trelawney said as she peered into the cup and her student's confused face. "I sense mixed emotions in your coming years."
"Um," Sophia murmured. "Mixed emotions?"
"Oh yes dear. If you'd look in your textbook you would see-" the teacher peered at the open book in front of Sophia, pointing with a finger filled with odd rings. "-that your leaves are showing confusion, self-awakening and....... love?"
Hermione burst into a state of giggles as well as sniggering from Ron and Harry behind them. Sophia's jaw dropped at her Professor's exclamation and felt the familiar rush of heat hit her cheeks. This had to be some kind of trick between the trio, as they continued to laugh behind their hands when Trelawney moved on to other tables. She knew for a fact that Harry, Ron and Hermione were sniggering from the connection to her previous encounters with Fred Weasley. Sophia felt like sinking into a hole in the floor from embarrassment and laid her head down on the table with her arms covering her head.
"She's right about the confusion..." Sophia mumbled against the table, making Hermione laugh further.
Before she knew it, classes had ended, and Harry stated that he would have to get ready to go to Quidditch practice. This reminded Sophia that she was going to watch the Gryffindor practice with Hermione, so she ventured back to the common room with the trio. Ron stated that he was going to play a bit of Wizard's Chess with Dean Thomas, to which Hermione scolded him for as he had been given Potions homework for apparently throwing the wrong ingredient into his cauldron. Ron shrugged off Hermione's scolding, leaving Hermione and Sophia to go up to their dorm and change out of their uniforms. Sophia pulled on some jeans as well as a comfortable grey sweater, before following Hermione down to the common room once more. There, she saw multiple people dressed in red and gold robes pulling on leather padded gloves and specialised shoes for flying.
Upon arrival, Fred Weasley was furiously tapped on the shoulder by George. Fred looked up in curiosity from his place at the wooden table, to have his twin motion his head towards the brunette who had just descended the stairs from the girl's dormitory. Fred looked over and immediately felt his stomach leap at the sight of the third year. He didn't know what came over him, but seeing Sophia standing in a simple grey sweater and fitted jeans made his heart race and have the unconscious need to fix his flaming red hair.
"Geez Freddie, no need to have a fit," George sniggered from beside him, making his twin glare back at him and made a move to hit him for his teasing when a sweet voice stopped him.
"Hey Fred," Sophia greeted as she made her way over to stand next to the boy who was still seated in one of the wooden chairs. He whipped his head around to look up at the girl, immediately feeling self-conscious but made a move to not let it show by standing up from his place.
"Hey Sophie!" he greeted back with another bright smile, before stopping suddenly. "I mean Sophia. You probably don't like being called Sophie."
"No it's fine," she said with a shake of her head, settling Fred's nerves in the slightest. "Although I heard there is actually a Sophie in my year in Hufflepuff, so it's probably best to not call me that to avoid confusion."
"Right," Fred nodded in return, before George suddenly grabbed hold of the back of his red and gold robes and started to drag him towards the portrait hole where all the other Quidditch players were heading. Fred attempted to look back over his shoulder in order to say goodbye to Sophia, but was quickly pulled out of the common room completely and out of a chance to even glance at the girl. He immediately turned to George and yanked himself from his grip, his face riddled with irritation.
"Why'd you do that?!" he cried as the group of players made their way down the stairs and towards the Quidditch pitch.
"Because if I didn't, you would have stayed talking to Girlfriend Sophia for the rest of the day," George answered with a smirk on his lips. This made Fred glare even more at his brother, even though he knew he'd love to do exactly that.
"She's not my girlfriend..." Fred mumbled, to which George ignored by continuing to say, "Don't worry Freddie. You'll have plenty of time to impress Lupin on the pitch."
