Sophia tried to indulge herself in the sights that were outside on the platform, rather than look at her father's scarred face. She knew that once she had a small collision with someone of the opposite gender, her father would immediately start teasing and send her smug looks. It didn't help that the boy had smiled down at her with a look that Remus identified as an interest in the new girl. Remus eventually stopped trying to tease his daughter and stated that he was going to try and get some sleep before they reached Hogwarts. He hadn't had any sleep the previous night because of the full moon, so he pulled round his cloak and covered most of his body to take a small nap.

This left Sophia to stare out the window as the train began to leave the station, and the parents that littered the platform outside waved at their children. It didn't take long for the train to start passing the countryside of England, leaving lots to stare at and relax Sophia's nerves for her new school. Her relaxation was partially broken when the sliding door that separated the compartment and the hallway of the train slid open.

"Sorry to interrupt," a girl with bushy brown hair said with a kind face, and noticeable large two front teeth. "Everywhere else is full. Would you mind if we sat in here?"

"Not at all," Sophia smiled at her, seeing the two boys that stood behind the bushy-haired girl. She recognised one of the redheads as said 'Ickle-Ron' and Harry Potter, peaking Sophia's interest once more.

The brown-haired girl smiled back and sat down next to Sophia, while 'Ickle-Ron' and Harry Potter sat next to her father who was sound asleep by now. The two boys sneaked a look at the sleeping man, before settling uncomfortably in silence.

"I'm Hermione Granger," the girl turned to Sophia with a friendly smile. "Are you new? Haven't seen you before."

"Yeah, I've transferred from Beauxbatons. I'm Sophia Lupin," she answered as she glanced at each of the trios faces in an attempt to be friendly.

"Ron Weasley," the redhead answered, still holding a rather ill looking rat in his hands. He gave a goofy smile which settled Sophia's nerves at the new faces, before she turned to look at the messy haired boy who she already knew.

"Harry Potter," he stated with a quietness that Sophia sympathised with. She knew he was probably always known before he even would open his mouth to new people. She gave them all a closed-lip smile before nodding her head at their introductions.

"So is this your Dad?" Ron voiced as he not so subtly nodded his head towards Remus who was still asleep in the corner. Ron had fleetingly looked at the duo before they boarded the train, seeing the close relationship as a father and daughter one.

"Yeah, he's going to be teaching at Hogwarts this year. Part of the reason I was transferred here," Sophia half lied, knowing it was easier to just state that was the reason for the odd move. The three seemed content with the answer, although Hermione raised her eyebrows and turned to Sophia with a face of curiosity.

"Will he be teaching Defence Against the Dark Arts by any chance?" she asked and Sophia nodded in return. The trio nodded in acceptance, before settling into a more comfortable silence. Soon the trio started asking about Beauxbatons, and what it was like having to learn French in order to keep up in her classes. They also asked what house her father was in as she told them he went to Hogwarts when he was young, and seemed proud of the answer at being Gryffindor. They said that hopefully she'd be placed in the same house, and they'd all be together for classes and in the common room.

Sophia was content with the trio, as they were quite friendly and informative about her new school. Although, there was a bit of turning point when the breakout of Sirius Black was mentioned. Remus had previous informed her that his once trusted friend had broken out of Azkaban, and to be extra careful around Hogwarts. But she wasn't too worried, as she knew her father would be protective enough if Black ever thought of being near Sophia.

With a sudden jolt, the conversation had stopped suddenly. The train had made a sudden stop, and the lights that once lit up the compartment began to flicker before turning off completely. Hermione mumbled something about 'not possibly being there yet', and Ron made a move to look out the window where rain had begun to pour and trickle down the glass. Sophia looked to her father who still seemed to be asleep and hoped that he would soon awaken to maybe inform them that everything was fine. He did that a lot, with his kind nature and soft smiles, but it didn't mean that everything was always 'alright'.

"I think something's moving out there..." Ron stated as he gazed out the window.

The compartment suddenly dropped in temperature, creating a thick layer of frost over the window that Sophia sat near. She now began to panic as she stared at her still sleeping father, wishing he'd wake up to see these odd happenings. It was then that the four people in the room turned their heads to see a flowing black cloak in the hallway of the train, and long thin skeleton-like fingers pull the door of the compartment open. Sophia now resulted to jabbing her foot into her father's leg, frightened of the tall floating figure that seemed to be looking around the compartment.

As soon as it faced Harry who sat nearest to the door, the boy began to jerk unnaturally like he was in a form of episode. Hermione and Ron sat staring horrified at the cloaked figure and Harry, not knowing what to do at all. Remus suddenly jumped out of his seat and produced a large white mist out the end of his wand that pushed the dark omen out of the compartment and out of sight. Instantly, the room grew warmer, the lights turned on and the train began moving again. But Harry suddenly fell to the floor, his eyes shut and still in his place. Ron and Hermione jumped on him immediately, but Remus turned his attention to Sophia who still sat in her spot in a state of shock.

"Are you okay Soph?" he asked as he put away his wand into his suit jacket. She nodded her head with wide eyes, relieved to have her father awake and now aware of his surroundings. Once Remus was reassured, he turned to Harry who was starting to slowly arise from his sleep. Remus and Ron helped him sit up, and Remus put on his usual kind smile.

"W-What was that thing?" Harry muttered with wide eyes, staring at Remus specifically who offered him chocolate. Sophia knew of her father's special chocolate that instantly makes you feel better after a form of shock or uncertainty.

"That was a Dementor, usually they're guards of Azkaban," Remus answered. "They were probably here looking for Sirius Black. Although I'm not sure why it was so interested in you Harry."

Harry took no notice at how Remus seemed to know his name but started to eat the chocolate that he had been given. He instantly perked up from the warm feeling that gathers in your stomach from the treat and began to settle in his seat. Sophia watched as Remus started to move towards the door of the compartment and turned back around to meet her gaze.

"I'm just going to have a word with the driver," he stated as he opened the sliding door. "I'll see you at Hogwarts Soph. I'm sure this lot will help you find your way."

And with another soft smile, Remus left down the hall of the train leaving the four to discuss the sudden happenings. Harry, Ron and Hermione began to discuss Harry's bizarre reaction, but Sophia began thinking of the Dementor and her father in a cluster of concern. Surely her father will be thinking about his old friend Sirius Black, as well as suddenly meeting the son of his old friend James Potter. It was only now Peter Pettigrew who was missing, but Sophia knew he had been killed by Black when she was very young. She hated to think about what her father must be thinking about right now, as he must feel nostalgic yet sad to hear of his old friends who he had now lost all contact with.

Before long, Hermione and Sophia changed into their robes in the girl's bathroom in a different compartment. Sophia's were plain at the moment, with only the Hogwarts symbol on the robe and jumper that she wore. They would soon hopefully be accompanied with gold and red to represent the house she hoped to be in. She decided to not wear the robe that went over the top, and just wore the jumper, button up shirt, skirt and knee-high socks.

She followed Harry, Ron and Hermione off the train and on to the platform. A cluster of students littered Hogsmeade Platform, making it quite a challenge to keep with the trio that seemed to know where they were going. Sophia began to walk beside Hermione along a trail that lead to a large amount of carriages that seemed to be pulling themselves. The two girls chatted as they sat with Ron and Harry, before the carriage began to move and pull the students towards a magnificent castle that could only be Hogwarts. Sophia noticed Dementors were littered around the school, stationed there as they hovered in their places. Everyone felt the unpleasant cold sensation when passing them, before they hopped out the carriages and made their way into the school.

"Granger! Potter!" a voice called out as they were walking down yet another magnificent hallway. The group of four stopped and Sophia turned to see an older woman in green robes with a large witch's hat on walk briskly towards them. Sophia noticed she was carrying a weathered old witch's hat in her hand too and the woman's eyes fell to the freckled girl.

"Oh Miss. Lupin! You're here too. I'm Professor McGonagall, head of Gryffindor House. Jolly good, just the three I needed to see!" the woman said in a form of delight, before looking to Ron who stood next to Harry in hopes of also being needed. "Oh off you go Mr. Weasley, these three will meet you in the Great Hall soon."

Ron walked off in a small huff, leaving the two girls and one boy to look at the woman. She first turned to Sophia, lifting the ancient looking hat.

"Now Miss. Lupin, this is the Sorting Hat. It will sort you into the house that you will be in for the rest of your schooling years," Professor McGonagall explained, a small smile growing on her face. "Although with a Father like yours, I can guess what house you'll be in without the hat."

The hat was placed on Sophia's head, and she suddenly heard a voice inside her head that wasn't her own. She could feel the hat moving on top of her head and began to listen to the grumbly voice in her head.

'Ah yes I remember this name from years ago. Lupin! I assume his problem is still a problem these days aye? Anyway, I see two options for you my dear. Very loyal and a warm heart too, a Hufflepuff maybe? But I do see the same courageous trait as your father, as well as a chivalrous attitude. I do suppose you'd have to be in-

GRYFFINDOR!'
