⟶ author's note: I've been having a few hard days so I wrote this for myself. It's completely self indulgent but :P So! Dancing with lightening era characters would include... P.S. I know I've been dead here for almost two weeks, I sincerely apologise, I do see all the love and I'm thankful!

Fred loved dancing. More specifically, he loved dancing with you. It was an unguarded secret of sorts, he often put on some music and pulled you in against his chest catching you off guard. You would laugh then, moving in time with his feet as he twirled you around your living room.
Energetic as he was, your steps would soon pick up pace leaving you out of breath but with a wide smile. His arm looped along yours as the two of you would circle pushing your feet up in the air, crackling out loud. As the song would come to an end, he would cradle your face pulling you into a lingering kiss. There was nothing quite simple.
˗ˏˋ george weasley 'ˎ˗
The times George danced with you were rare, but maybe that was what made them even more precious. You would be sitting on the couch reading a book, the radio's hum reverberating throughout the house. One of your favourite songs would come on making George perk up and walk up to you, offering you a hand.
"Dance with me," he would simply say, while you would raise a skeptical eyebrow, giving in anyway. Chuckling a little as you awkwardly stepped on each other's feet, you would sway dramatically making him laugh and join in. He would theatrically spin you around until the music faded in the background and it was just him and you and the giddiness that filled the room. It was never about dancing anyway.

Hermione loved to try new things every so often. When she came to you with a bright pamphlet of waltz dancing classes with an equally bright smile, you just couldn't refuse. It turned out the classes mostly included old couples, the two of you were the youngest ones there. Nearly all of them sent sly glances towards you and Hermione, often leaving you flustered.
The teacher helped you with the correct posture as the two of you followed the steps, giggling a little at your clumsiness. Hermione picked up fast, helping you move properly, it wasn't long before you were twirling her around the hall, her face full of adoration.
˗ˏˋ draco malfoy 'ˎ˗
Draco had been to innumerous balls ever since he was a child. Dancing reminded him of ballgowns and thick halls and fake smiles. It never excited him, it was more of a chore if anything. When you asked him to dance, you were in awe of how his steps were perfectly coordinated.
"Loosen up," you would tell him, making him confused.
"Are my steps stiff?"
"No, mentally"
And he would visibly deflate. You would pull him closer, resting your head against his shoulder, arms around his neck. His hands would rest on your waist, almost as if you were hugging and you two would just spin around slowly.
"This feels nice," he would say after some time, pulling you into a long kiss sighing against your forehead.
˗ˏˋ ginny weasley 'ˎ˗
Ginny and you frequently danced and it was often careless. Throwing hands up in the air, jumping and laughing along with the music. She loved collecting muggle records and had found she had a taste for rock. The living room shelves were decorated with her favourites and she would put them on hopping around like no one was watching. Still looking graceful somehow.
You would watch her from the doorway, smiling at the beautiful sight as she would pull you towards her placing her hands on your shoulders swaying from side to side, wide grins on your faces.

Old Riding Author Lunatic Asylum
Just off the A19, in the dark, incomprehensible lands known as Yorkshire, there lies a town. A town where shadow-silent alleys glint with the secret hunger of knives. Where blood soaks the chipboard window shutters of forsaken terraces stretching off into the night. Where the smog-choked air rattles with the depraved laughter echoing out from clubs that can only generously be described as post-apocalyptic. Well, that’s Middlesbrough. But down the A19 a bit (an impossibly long way down, actually) there lies another town: Raughnen, in the ancient, forgotten Old Riding. It is an equal match in muggery and thuggery alike. It also has magic spells and pointy wizard hats. And now, across the miles and across all sensibilities, a pretty nasty power (a magic one) calls out for its pretty nasty counterpart (a decidedly unmagic one): a proper sound Boro lad. Nothing good can come of it. This is a collection of one novella and four connected short stories: I. A Yorkshire Summoning II. Old Riding Day Trip (the novella) III. Heaven is a Parmo IV. Death on the 66 V. Death on the 257 In total, this comprises 34 chapters totalling around 35,000 words, so try not to worry. It will be over relatively quickly. There are three more short stories with more tenuous links to the core collection: Rush, Paper Round and Scenario 79: Sausage Fingers, all of which can be found in my collection Short Records of Misadventure. Reading these may allow you to make more sense of certain parts of the story, if any sense is to be made at all. NOTE: There are instances of prejudice and discrimination within these stories, including elements of sexism and ageism, which are purely the thoughts and actions of the characters involved and which certainly do not reflect my own views on these matters. ANOTHER NOTE; A WARNING, PERHAPS: This can get a bit weird. In less than 150 pages, we have four viewpoints, first and third person narratives, and a completely disjointed plot with lots of gaps, dead ends and no real resolution. Also ZERO lunatic asylums. It's all a bit odd. If that sort of thing isn't your cup of tea, which it most likely isn't, it might be best to move on now.

A Mildly Odd Reality Breaker
Omar receives an unexpected visitor who comes baring a gift—a "registration ticket"—in the form of a small metal card. The ticket is itself an offer to participate in the game, "Reality Break." Accepting this offer means that Omar will be able to perceive the true nature of reality where there is not one, but two dimensions of time, and in this second dimension history changes (and somewhat "frequently"). Along with this, he will also gain access to the "chronopause"; another reality that is not so much parallel to our own as it is perpendicular, which acts as both a place and the natural boundary between non-sequential points on the timeline. Using the chronopause, Omar will become a chrononaut with the ability to travel through time, and as a player, he will be given a cybernetic interface and his own portable extradimensional storage space. It's a strange conversation, but due to Omar's dismally short attention span, he only consciously hears that last bit about the portable pocket space, and that's only after the physics-defying void is opened in his living room and literally waved in front of his face. Reality is certainly stranger than most people realize, but then again, so is Omar. Thankfully, he responds well to shiny things, and for better or for worse, his chronic inattentiveness is the least of his psychological issues. Omar also has a mild form of "Oppositional Defiant Disorder" which presents itself as an occasional, arbitrary need to disobey others (especially authority figures). However, his oddest psychological issue by far is his "abnormally hyperactive" subconscious mind. Outwardly and consciously, Omar is a lazy, apathetic man-child prone to mildly asinine behavior. Subconsciously, he's some sort of genius capable of extraordinary feats of cognition. Most of the time, Omar is a (technically) functioning adult, but in order to live as such, he must rely entirely upon unusual abilities he's completely unaware of, despite the fact that he uses them regularly. Up until now, his life had merely been ridiculous, but now it was also a game. Note: The narrative style is that of a reliable narrator with a "3rd-person sarcastic" POV. This story takes place in the Reality Breakers/Chronopause universe.
