《Yellow || Fred Weasley》00 || prologue

In one of the houses at Appleby, North Lincolnshire, there lived a family of four, well-known by their neighbors as a very warm family: the Eruditus family. They resided in a 3-storey house, painted a nice shade of teal. Just outside the home was a short blonde woman well into her 30s, wearing a dark blue skirt with a white polka-dotted top, and white heeled loafers.
"Good morning, Maria!" a woman passing by greeted, smiling at her.
"Good morning, Mrs. Herring. On your way to the market?" Maria Eruditus greeted back with her own smile.
"Oh you know, the usual" Mrs. Herring answered, waving back as she continued on her way.
As the older woman disappeared from Maria's sight, a sound of an owl made her turn to the sky. Holding out her arm, the owl landed on it with two letter held in its beak.
"Why, thank you" Maria smiled as she petted the owl's head, took the letters and slid them into a pocket on her dress. Looking around, she made sure there were no other people in the area and took out a black stick decorated with small little jewels. She brandished the stick and small little treats appeared in her hand. The owl hooted happily and took the treats from her hand before flying off.
The woman pocketed her wand, jumping slightly when she felt hands on her waist.
"That was very reckless of you, darling" the man said from behind her.
She smiled and turned to face her husband. William Eruditus was a tall man, much taller than his wife, with light brown hair and dark brown eyes, unlike his wife who sported bright blue eyes. He looked at her exasperatedly, although there was a hint of a smile on his face.
"How many times have I told you that you can't just whip out your wand whenever you like" William scolded his wife.
"I know, I know" Maria smiled sheepishly at her husband. She wiggled away from his grasp and walked towards the door, the wizard left behind looking out at their small garden.

"Gaia! Your letters are here!" Maria shouted once she entered the house.
A small girl, aged 11, bounded down the stairs at the sound of her mother's voice. Gaia Eruditus was their first-born out of their two daughters. The girl had the same colored hair as her father, although her hair was wavy like her mothers, and her eyes were just as bright and blue as her mother's.
Behind her, an even younger girl followed behind. Lele Eruditus was the youngest Eruditus, born only 2 years after her elder sister. In contrast to her sister, Lele inherited their mother's blonde hair and their father's dark brown eyes.
"Where are they, mum?" Gaia asked in Spanish, their mother's native language. The small girl's hair started turning yellow as she beamed up at her mother.
Maria laughed at her daughter's excitement and gave her the letters. The young witch took it excitedly and looked up at her mother.
"Why are there two?" she asked again.
"You know I was a graduate of Beauxbatons, so they sent a letter for you as well" the older witch answered.
The small girl hummed and looked at the two letters. "I want to go to Hogwarts mum, if that's alright with you."
"Did I hear Hogwarts?" William laughed as he entered the house. Gaia squealed in delight and rushed at her father.
"Dad, look!" She launched herself at the man and hugged him tightly, showing him the acceptance letter she had in her hand. "I'm going to Hogwarts, just like you!"
"It seems that you are" he laughed, spinning his daughter around making her squeal as she tightened her grip on her father's shirt.
"Beauxbatons was so much better than Hogwarts. Shame she chose the latter" Maria walked up to her husband with a teasing smile.
William shook his head with a smirk as he set Gaia down on the ground, the small girl immediately running over to her younger sister to show her the letter. "Impossible! We happen to have Dumbledore!"

"Mum, when can I get these?" the little girl asked as she read the list of requirements.
"Tomorrow, sweetheart. You and dad can go get it together" Maria answered.
"Can I go to Hogwarts too, ma?" Little Lele asked, tugging on her mother's skirt.
Maria laughed and picked up the 9-year-old. "In 2 years, Lele. Then you'll get to join your sister"

"The latest we'll be back is 6:00 but I'm sure it won't take that long" William said to his wife as the two young Eruditus' talked about Diagon Alley.
"Alright love. Be safe, both of you" Maria said, pecking her husband's lips.
"Gaia! Let's go!" William called. Gaia approached her father and grabbed his hand.
"Bye mum! Bye Lele!" Gaia said with a grin before her father apparated away.
Gaia looked around Diagon Alley in wonder, her hair a brightly colored yellow.
"I assume you'll want your books first?" William asked.
Gaia nodded vigorously and let her father lead the way. One by one, they went through the list until only Gaia's wand was left. The father-daughter duo entered Ollivander's and was immediately greeted by the man himself.
"William! Great to see you!" Mr. Ollivander said.
"Great to see you too Garrick. This is my eldest, Gaia" William introduced to the man. The girl in question smiled brightly at the old man.
"Ah yes. First year now, is she?" Mr. Ollivander said before going to the back to grab a few wands.
After a few tries, Gaia ended up with the right wand. "Applewood with a thestral hair core, 10 1/2 inches and quite flexible. A powerful wand, indeed." Mr. Ollivander remarked. Gaia smiled up at the man and thanked him with a big smile before walking out with her father after exchanging goodbyes.
"How would you feel about an owl, Gaia?" William asked his daughter.
Gaia gasped quietly as the entered the store. "Can I have one dad?" she asked and her father only gestured for her to pick.
A male snowy owl caught her attention as he seemed to stare at her curiously. She approached him carefully and held up her hand a few inches from his head. He stared at her hand for a while before nuzzling into it.
"I want him dad" Gaia said with a small smile as she picked up the owl. He fussed for a while as she wasn't holding him properly. When she finally got him in a proper position, he calmed down. After talking to the owner of the store, the two left with the owl perched on the girl's shoulder.
"Have you thought of a name yet, hija?" her father asked her.
She stared blankly in front of her before saying "Nieve."
The owl hooted making Gaia smile. Yes, it seemed Nieve was an excellent name for him.

AUTHOR'S NOTE
Hello! Recently, I've edited this story and quite a lot has changed. So, to those who have already read this book before, I suggest you read it again because although the Prologue (formerly chapter ONE) has remained the same, most of the other chapters have changed.
BUT! If you don't want to re-read it, it's fine as well! I'll be including a summary in the next update of PINK to help out :)
Oh and another note, you will be seeing dialogue text in italics from time to time. That means it is spoken in Spanish. You'll usually see it with Gaia's family and another girl. But don't confuse that with the italics used for the sorting hat's dialogue! The sorting hat's dialogue is signified by ~. So any dialogue encased by ~~ is the sorting hat talking.
Anyway, that's all!

Travelers [DROPPED]
DROPPED. The story focuses less on dungeon building than on the why of dungeons and how they fit into the universal order. While I am working from a grand plot, the writing is going slice of life style because I need to do that to work out how things progress into that grand plot. The original story seed idea / synopsis is below. The Grand Tapestry protects Rhofhir from Primal Chaos by imposing Order via patterns. However, the patterns grow stiff, stagnant, and so the Tapestry is nearing a time of Unraveling. Evidence of past civilizations wiped out during previous Unravelings foreshadow the apocalyptic catastrophe looming over the world. The mages of the Arcane Asylum reach out across dimensions, searching for some way to prevent, or at least stall, the coming Unraveling. Among the many voices they find is a gifted graduate student researching machine-assisted telepathy -- and his gaming group. Lena never expected that the chance to play DnD with telepathy would result in her becoming an actual Dungeon Master, nor that her friends could become the bosses of her dungeon. This is, in many ways, her dream come true, but there's a catch: What happened to Brad, the creator of that telepathy machine?
