It wasn't a surprise that James liked you. You were bold, outgoing and smart. He had taken a notice of you after your brother had introduced you to him, and his other friends. And even though your brother had told the other marauders that you were off limit, he couldn't help but to like you.

"Y/N! You want to join us to Hogsmaede this weekend?" Your brother asked. You smiled at the four boys sitting in front of you. Remus, your brother, always tried to spend some time with you. "Uhm I don't think I'm going to go this weekend". Sirius raised his eyebrows "why not?" "I have tons of homework and Saturday is the only day I have time to finish it". Remus nodded but still looked suspicious. You never cancelled Hogsmaede. "Well maybe I should stay here and help you ". He said. You quickly responded "what? No, no Remus there is no need for you to stay, go have fun! I'll be fine". Remus grew even more suspicious. "What are you up too?" He asked. You turned a bright shade of red, knowing he was not going to let it go. "Nothing Remus really" you looked around and saw the other boys staring at you as well, except James. He knew why you wouldn't be joining the others. James looked at the ground, the two of you were going to hang out on Saturday. "Well this has been fun, but I've got to go". You said as you quickly turned around and made your way towards the library.

"Well she is up too something" Sirius looked at Remus with a slight twinkle in his eye. "Do you think she's going to hang out with a boy?" He asked. James looked up, feeling uncomfortable. Remus frowned "I don't know, could be, what do you think Prongs?" Remus asked. James shook his head. "I have no clue, but I'm gonna go, I have uhm something to do, oh and Saturday I can't come to hogsmaede as well because there are things" James said awkwardly. He didn't wait for a respond, he just walked away. The boys grew a little suspicious. Sirius raised his eyebrows as James just walked out of the common room, "do you think there is something going on between them?" Sirius asked. Remus looked shocked but it seemed to dawn on him, maybe one of his best friends was hanging out with his sister. "I'm not sure, but let's figure it out." The three boys made a plan, they were going to fake leave Hogwarts and then hide somewhere, until you and James got caught.

Saturday arrived and after breakfast your brother came up to you. "You sure you don't want to come with us?" You glanced over at James, he was quite nervous, you could tell. You shook your head "no Remus, I'm gonna be fine! Go and have fun!" Remus nodded and the boys walked away, all except James. After the boys left the hall, James sat down next to you. "Are you ready Y/N?" You nodded. Honestly you and James hanging out wasn't what people thought it was, though you both wanted it to be. You would never admit it to each other. The two of you walked towards the common room together, not knowing you were followed by the other marauders.

After the two of you sat down in the common room, talking for a while, Remus got anxious. What if one of his best friend was going after his sister? Sirius tried to calm him down. When Sirius and Remus were talking, you and James had both gone up to your dorm, grabbing some stuff before heading outside. You see, Remus his birthday was around the corner, you bought him lots of chocolate of course, but you wanted to do something extra special. You knew that the marauders were Animagus, you wanted surprise your brother and join them. This way you could help him in his darkest time.

You and James walked out of the common room and headed outside, going to the forest. When you arrived James turned to you "so you say you have practiced? You think you can show me?" You smiled proudly and nodded "yeah I really think I got it James!" The three other boys got even more confused now. But surely you started to transform, turning into a beautiful red fox. James looked at you in awe. You ran around him and jumped excitedly. James laughed "I'm so proud of you! You did it!" In fox form you jumped again, you kept running around a bit until you heard some leaves crack. Your body posture changed, you slowly walked over the tree where you heard the crack. James followed you, and soon you saw your brother and the two other boys. "What the hell are you guys doing here?!!" James yelled. You stood there wanting to turn back. James looked at you and his eyes softened. He softly said "do you want to turn back?" You bowed your head, agreeing. James grabbed a big blanket, throwing it over your body, slowly but surely you started to change back. Now, in human form, practically naked in front of your brother and his friends, with a big blanket wrapped around your body. You looked at James and smiled slightly "thanks James" he looked at you and blushed a little. Then you turned to Remus. "What the hell Remus?" Remus still looked shocked, "I, uhm was only here to uhm see what you guys were doing" he murmured. "So you were spying on us?" You said. Sirius spoke up "No not really spying, we were just curious since the two of you had been acting weird". You were getting annoyed "So that gives you the right to lie to us? You said you were going for a butter beer, instead you followed us". "You said you were going to do homework! You lied as well!" Remus called out. "I was only lying to keep this a birthday surprise Remus! Thanks for ruining it tho!" You started to get mad. "Birthday surprise?" "Yes Remus a birthday surprise, James has been helping me become an animagus, so that when you turn I can be around to help you as well!" Remus looked ashamed, and so did Sirius and Peter. "So there is nothing going on between you two?" You looked at James, he looked at you. "Well no, not now, but even if there was something going on, that's none of your business." James got a goofy smile "not now? So maybe in the future?" "Well yeah, if you want to, I mean spending time with you has been great". James put his arm around you, smiling brightly. Remus coughed. "What the hell?! Prongs stop hitting on my sister, there is no way this is going to happen!"

But it did happen... you and James started dating shortly after, and although Remus didn't agree at first, he saw how happy the two of you were. And after a couple of weeks of dating and hanging out James asked you to be his girlfriend.

"Y/N! You ready for our date tomorrow?" James asked smiling, while you were walking into the common room. You nodded "of course, but will you tell me what we're going to do?" You said as you went to sit on his lap. James blushes a little as you sat down, your action also earned groans from the other three boys. "No I told you, it's a surprise!" You pouted "pleaseeee" He chuckled, pulling you a little closer and kissing your nose. "No!" Remus looked at the two of you in disgust. "For godric sake get a room!" You smiled at your brother knowing he didn't really mean 'that'. "Oh believe me Remus, we will soon enough". As you said that the boys laughed except Remus.

The next day arrived and James had asked you to meet him in the common room, early in the morning. It was Saturday so a lot of people were going to sleep in. You got dressed and felt great since you were wearing your favourite outfit. You walked down the stairs and James was already waiting. In his one hand a big basket and in the other a rose. He smiled when he saw you "You look great Y/N" "and so do you James" you gave him a hug. He gave you the rose "it's beautiful, thank you". He smiled, grabbing your hand with his now empty one. "Come on let's go". "Where are we going and why are we going this early?" "You will see" and you did. Because after a little while it waking you arrived at the lake, under one of the trees there was a big blanket. James put down the basket and started to unpack. There were lots of goods in them, pumpkin juice, some puff pastry's and pumpkin pie. All of your favourites. "Come on Y/N, sit down". You sat down next to him. "James, it's amazing, you did this all for me?". He nodded with a big grin on his face. "You like it?" "Oh James I love it!" You kissed him on the cheek and grabbed his hand. "Oh look it's starting!" "What is?" You asked, he simply pointed. The sun came up behind the trees, it was a beautiful sight. After the two of you watched the sun rise you ate. "James this was amazing" "Im glad you liked it, I want to ask you something though". You nodded "ask away". Suddenly James got nervous "would you maybe like to make it official?" "You mean us? Like we would be a couple?" "Yes exactly like that!" "I would love that James". He pulled you closer, his arm around your waist and your head resting on his shoulder. You cuddled this way until the other students started to slowly wake up and walk outside. Since then you and James went to see the sunset together at least once a month.
