Harry walked past you one day, and in that one moment of eye contact you knew you were in love. The sad thing is he probably wasn't. So one night you were walking through the castle, the night curfew didn't really bother you, that night changed everything.
You wandered alone until somebody grabbed your shoulder, you were scared you got caught by a teacher, you turned around to see who it was and looked into the beautiful eyes who belonged to no one other than Harry himself. Harry started to talk but you didn't understand, even though you tried to read his lips. You awkwardly smiled and pointed your finger towards your ear and shaking your head.
Harry looked surprised, you could see he was slightly embarrassed. There was an awkward moment and you knew that Harry didn't know what to do. You looked down and as always you just walked away.
A couple of days later you were wandering around the castle again. Somebody tapped your shoulder, and even though you thought he would never seek contact with you again, Harry stood there. He smiled at you, you smiled back. There was an awkward moment again but this time it didn't bother you as much because you were just staring at each other.
Than after a couple of minutes Harry started to move is hands, it took you a minute to understand he was talking to you in sign language.
You could understand every thing which mad you very happy and he signed "I'm so sorry for the last time, I didn't know"
"That's okay, not many people know"
"May I ask you how you became deaf?"
You smiled shyly "well my brother and I were experimenting with magic when we were little, things didn't turn out the way we had thought and I lost my hearing and he lost a finger"

Harry looked a bit shocked, you just smiled at him and shrugged.
You signed : shit happens.
And Harry chuckled. After that you started to talk and never stopped. you and Harry became real good friends. After a couple of months of being friends he asked you out, of course you said yes!
And because of Harry, mostly all the kids at hogwarts started to learn sign language.
