— chapter eighteen

she was just scared ok? when she bumped in to harry while dancing she felt like she was gonna die. so she ran. it was bit embarrassing but she rather not dance with harry.

rubi was walking through the halls after finishing 5th period. she felt a lot of people looking at her and she was not liking it at all.

suddenly a brown eyed boy that was about three inches taller than her came up to her. "erm- hello?" she says confusedly.

he blushes and start fidgeting with his hands "um- hi rubi, i was wondering if you'd like to go the ball with me?"

rubi's eyes widen. oh "erm im sorry, do i know who you are?"

the boys face was not even pale anymore it was fully red. "i um- have been your herbology partner for years."

"oh my merlin, im so sorry, i just never really paid attention in herbology." the boy nods his head still very red.

"i know, you were always almost half asleep."

rubi chuckles. "look you seem like a very kind bloke, but um im sorry, no. i do appreciate the guts you had to come up to me. sorry." rubi smiles sadly.

she kisses his cheek and continues walking. she couldn't even reach the end of the hall when another boy comes up to her.

"hey darling, would it not be great if we both walked in to the ball hand in hand? we'd outshine everyone in that room." he was one of the students from durmstrang. he smelled awfully of men body spray, she could probably smell it from a mile away. that's how strong it was.

he was smirking down at her cockily. she grimaced at him. "no." she tries pushing past him but he grabs her arm. "oh cmon darlin' ill treat you real good. nobody will make you feel as good as eddie"

in the moment she kneed him the crotch. he gasps for air as he falls to the ground. "you deserved that." rubi chuckles while walking away once again.

it continued like that for days. guys coming up to her obsessively. she thinks almost half the boy population in the school had asked her. she couldn't breath because in every corner there was a boy waiting to ask her.

at this point she learned just to say no immediately before they even asked.

she was walking towards the tables exhausted after a long day of studying. "hey guys." she mumbles out as she sits in between fred and harry.

"hey rubi, do you have a partner for the dance?" ron asks. she groans. "dont even speak to me about that. i cant walk out a door without a boy bombarding me with 'will you go to the dance with me?'."

"why dont you just choose one and get over it?" george says while snickering, "because they all disgust me" rubi snaps.

george puts his hand up in defense.

suddenly a 1st year comes walking up to her. cute little blue eyes and brown curly hair.

"hi! your really pretty, can i go to the dance with you?" the boy smiles sweetly at her making her coo.

"aww, im sorry sweetheart but no first years are allowed to go. but if they were allowed you'd definitely be my first choice to go with." she winks at him. he grins at her.

"when i become older will you go on a date with me then?" rubi laughs at him while shaking her head.

"maybe one day. but i dont think so but you can try in a few years and we'll see then." she grins at him, she gives him a kiss on the cheek and winks at him.

he jumps up and down and goes running to his friends.

"merlin rubi, even first years." she rolls her eyes at fred.

she didn't notice the longing look harry gave her. he wishes he had the guts to ask her.

rubi was in the library trying to get some homework done. but eat the same time. she had a banana with her but since there was no food allowed in the library she was doing it secretly.

suddenly she feels something hit her head. she looks up confused. but then in the far corner she could see the girl she hasn't seen in weeks.

antoinette

antoinette gestures her to follow. she really just wanted to finish her homework and go take a nap but apparently now she's gonna follow toi.

they both end up in the backrooms of the library. rubi couldn't even let out word before antoinette kisses her hard.

rubi pushes her to the wall looking at her angrily. "what the fuck are you doin'? who says your allowed to kiss me?"

antoinette smirks at her. "oh cause we haven't slept with each other." she rolls her eyes obviously not seeing how much it bugs rubi that she kissed her without consent.

"i dont care if we slept together, your not allowed to touch me." she growls and releases antoinette.

the dark skin beauty sighs. "ok im sorry, i know shouldn't have kissed you without asking im sorry." rubi looks at her attentively.

"what do you want antoinette."

and the first time ever, rubi saw antoinette blush. "look i- i have liked you since the moment we met. and then when we slept with each other i- it was the best sex ever..... and ive had plenty of sex with different people in the school and-."

"in the school! you've been shagging everyone in this fucking school?! what the fuck is wrong with you? not even my brother fred has a bigger sex drive than you. and that says a lot." rubi glares at her.

"i know im a slag rubi. but i mean it when i say i like you a lot. i never go looking for the same person twice. i dont do that. and here i am, wanting to ask you if you'd like to go to the ball with me..."

rubi stares at her, no emotion in her eyes. she looks at antoinette up and down like if she was calculating her.

rubi was making antoinette fidget nervously. why is that whenever antoinette is around rubi she feels like she's going to shit herself. rubi sighs while running a hand through her hair.

"ok"

"ok- ok what?"

rubi rolls her eyes and glares "ok ill go with you! wear a light blue dress." rubi demands and walks out the room.

antoinette stood there surprised. she said yes...she said yes! she bit her lip in excitement. she's goin on a date with the girl she likes.

well its not necessarily a date but she'll make it out that it is.

"ta-ta-ta-tatata, ta-ta-ta-tatata"

rubi doesn't know how she ended up singing and skipping with her twin brothers but here she was.

the triplets lock eyes on harry and ron who are walking through groups of girls. does harry have a date already. rubi frowns at the thought of harry having a girl by his side. she did not like that.

all three of them go up to them. "hiya harry." they all say in sync. ron and harry look at all three of the triplets.

"you're not gonna say hi to me?" ron frowns. the triplets look at each other. "hiya harry." ron groans as he smacks his forehead.

harry smiles at the idiocy that the weasley siblings are. "what are you guys looking for?" rubi says while grabbing harry's hand as a sign of possession. harry blushes.

"erm- w-we're looking for ball dates. we dont have any." harry mumbles.

george and fred burst out laughing. rubi hits her brothers on the upside of their head. making them mutter ouch. "dont listen to them harry, im sure you'll find someone. and if not just ask ginny, i know she wont mind going with you,"

harry coughs uncomfortably. that's not the weasley i wanna go with. he says in his head.

"like bloody hell, he'll go with ginny. ginny isn't going at all." ron glares at rubi.

"she's thirteen ronald, not nine, she can have a boyfriend or girlfriend if she wants. and surely enough she doesn't need her brother's permission to have one." rubi scoffs.

all three of the weasley boys glare at her.

"how about you go with harry then rubi? you don't have a date either just go with him." harry's face lightens up. thank merlin for fred weasley.

rubi frowns at fred while crossing her arms. "who says i dont have a date? last i recall i said yes to someone."

so much for putting your hopes up. harry face falls.

fred raises an eyebrow. "who the fuck is this bloke?"

"correction, lass, and i dont need to tell you who im going with. you'll see who i'll show up with at the ball." rubi rolls her eyes while walking away.
