— chapter fourteen

he made everyone in the class try the imperious curse on each other. it was actually pretty painful. rubi was struggling to not listen to what leanne was demanding her to do.

she was able to hold back a little. leanne immediately gave up when rubi put the imperious curse on her.

currently they were going to the great hall to watch people put their piece of parchment in the goblet of fire.

"ugh i hate walking, i wish someone would carry me all the time" leanne complains while slumping.

rubi chuckles while fidgeting with her bracelet. "wanna get on my back?" rubi says while raising an eyebrow.

"yes!" leanne shout and immediately jumps on rubi back. rubi lets out an oomf in surprise. "now off we go to the great hall!"

rubi rolls her eyes and continues walking with leanne on her back. cedric comes out of nowhere and raises his eyebrows at them. rubi shakes her head basically saying dont ask.

cedric shrugs and grabs rubi's hand. "hey leanne where are fred and george?" rubi asks her friend that's on her back.

"they went to go get some aging potion, they said they'll meet us there." rubi sighs already knowing it would end up not working.

"so um, im gonna try entering the tournament." cedric says out of nowhere while shuffling on his feet. rubi snaps her head towards him and immediately pulls her hand away from him. cedric looks at her panicked. "uh rubi its 50% chance i wont get in."

"no! no! what the hell is wrong with you. its dangerous you idiot, you do realize people die in this tournament right." rubi yells at cedric.

cedric face hardens. "well then why are you letting the twins enter?"

"because cedric they cant the aging potion wont work, im just giving them the benefit of the doubt. you bloody idiot, what the fuck is wrong with you."

at this point leanne got off rubi's back kinda of scared that rubi will turn aggressive. "what is wrong with me? what is wrong with you?! you've been acting like a total bitch. you're always snapping at everyone and pissed."

cedric's eyes widen after realizing what he just said. rubi stares at him before smacking him right across the face. leanne gasps.

"dont ever call me a bitch, you dont know a thing of what im going through. so i suggest you keep your mouth shut, and by the way i know about that 5th year girl, i know you fell in love and slept with her."

cedric panics and tries grabbing her hand. "wait rubi! let me explain-."

"no! i dont wanna hear a thing, it sucks i had to hear it from your own friends because your too much of a prat to break up with me. so ill do it for you. fuck you edward go be with that 5th year ravenclaw."

rubi snatches leanne's hand and pulls her to the main hall. leanne did not know that cedric was cheating on rubi. how did rubi know? she didnt say anything.

"rub."

"shut up leanne, we'll talk about it later." rubi says fuming with anger. leanne nods and follows her friend.

they reach the great hall and head towards hermione who is reading a book. rubi smacks her bag of books on the floor making hermione and leanne jump.

"rubi? what's wrong?" hermione asks with concern and a bit of fear. rubi's silver eyes were glowing and the floor was shaking slightly. hermione started to panic when she notices it was rubi who was making the floor shake.

hermione quickly remembers something professor lupin said about how harry was one of the only people who could calm rubi down with the snap of his fingers.

hermione quickly looks over at harry who is talking to ron about something. "harry!" the raven haired boy snaps his head over to hermione with his eyebrows furrowed.

but then he notices the silver glow that was surrounding rubi. harry didnt know why but he immediately sprung up in to action and ran over.

he kneeled in front of her and took her hands in to his. "rubi, look at me." harry whispered, he whispered so quietly that no one could hear him except rubi who was not exactly in the right state of mind.

she looks down at him and her eyes soften at the sight of him. her silver aura disappears but her eyes stayed silver.

"get me out of here please harry, i feel the burn coming up." for some reason harry understood but at the same time he didn't which confused him to no end but he payed no attention.

he followed his instincts and quickly put an arm under her legs and the other supporting her back. he pulls her up and she trembles putting her face to his neck.

harry ignored everyone's questioning looks as he left the great hall with rubi in his arms. his instincts told him to take her to black lake quickly. he ran as fast he could to the large body of water.

he felt her heating up which terrified him. once he reached the giant lake, she was practically burning his skin. he puts her down and she looked a little out of it but she quickly jumps in to the water.

harry's eyes widen not expecting her just to jump in without a second thought. there was a reason why the lake was called black lake, the whole lake was pitch black, not being able to see any of the creatures under the water.

but for some reason the ebony black colored lake, started turning in to a orange and yellow glow. harry just watched in awe. suddenly rubi appears from the water with only a bra and the skirt she had on before.

the skirt and bra clung to her pale skin, showing the beautiful curves she had. her hair was slicked back out of her face. her hair was the color of fire, it was practically glowing under the stare of the sun.

she looked like a beautiful mermaid coming up to the surface to get some air.

harry couldn't help bit gaze at her beautiful glow. whenever he looked at her, he just pictured all of the gods from above shinning upon her making her a literal bowl of sunshine.

she finally layed her silver eyes on harry and she put her hand out. harry looks at her confusingly. her eyes turn a bit dark. "my wand." her normally beautiful feminine voice was now a bit more deeper and darker.

harry quickly notices the wand on the side of waist band of his trousers. when did she put it there? harry wondered. he hears her growl slightly making him jump up and quickly giver her the wand.

she takes it from him and points at herself as she mutters a spell. suddenly fresh clean clothes appear on her body. her soaked wet hair was now dry and in flowy waves.

she closes her eyes but when she finally opens them again her natural chocolate colored eyes were back with a little shine. she looks down at herself and sighs out.

"rubi?" she slowly looks up at him and her eyes glistens with tears.

"he lied to me harry, he looked me in the eye and told me he loved me without even meaning it." she sobs out. he walks over to her and brings her in to a hug.

they slowly slide down to the floor. she sobs out pathetically while she straddles harry with her hands clinging on to the back of his robe.

the hairs on his neck tickled her nose a bit as she pushes her face more in to his warm neck. she cries, cries, cries, cries, cries and cries. harry stayed quite the whole time as he ran a hand through her hair.

he starts rocking them back and forth to soothen her. it seems to work cause her heartbreaking sobs turn in to sniffles and hums in appreciation.

"he was the first bloke i've actually liked and he did the thing that angers me the most in this world. he broke my trust. i told him that i didnt take trust so lightly and yet he still broke and shattered it in front of my face."

she whispers to him with little puffs. harry

frowns.

"i was walking to class the other day and some friends of cedric came up to me saying how they don't understand why cedric would sleep with another girl and that they were so sorry. i was confused when they told me that. but they finally realized they made a mistake telling me. and ever since then i've been holding my anger in because i didn't wanna harm anyone with my aura."

harry stiffens. how could cedric ever cheat on rubi? harry felt a little spark of anger in his chest but he controlled it cause he has to keep rubi in check at the moment.

"do you want me to take you to the common room rub?" harry says smiling softly down at her.

that's how they ended up in the common room cuddling. they were just talking about random things to distract rubi.

"sit down please! and now for the moment you have all been waiting for. the champion selection." dumbledore yells out to everyone who was currently sitting down on the side.

suddenly the goblet of fire turned red for a moment and piece of parchment came flying out. dumbledore catches it quickly. he looks down at it. "the drumstrang champion is viktor krum."

everyone cheered for the seeker of the bulgarian quidditch team. especially ron. he shakes hands with dumbledore with a small smile and walks away to his headmaster.

once again the fire turns red and another piece of parchment comes out. "the beauxbatons champion is fleur delacour." the beautiful blonde quickly stands with elegance and smiles sweetly as she walks towards her headmaster.

then the next piece of parchment appears. "the hogwarts champion is cedric diggory." rubi feels her chest tighten. she looks as her now ex boyfriend walk over to dumbledore with a frown. he didn't exactly look too happy.

once he was close to disappearing behind the doorway he looks at rubi and frowns. rubi stares back for a moment but she turns away and starts fiddling with harry's jumper.

"excellent, we now have our three champions but in the end only one will go down in history. only one will hoist this chalice of champion. this vessel of victory. the triwizard cup!" dumbledore points as some type of cloak flies off the glowing cup.

but then suddenly the goblet of fire starts flaming up again and everyone watches in confusion. another name falls out of the goblet making everyone silent.

dumble looks down at the piece of parchment and frowns. "harry potter?" he speaks lowly. rubi's breath hitches in her throat. she looks over at harry and she sees him looking terrified. "harry potter?!" he yells out a little louder.

rubi's heart pumps against her chest. no please dont make this true. "harry potter!" harry gets up with a terrified face as he walks towards the doorway where every other champion went.

rubi feels her sight become a little blurry. and suddenly she feels light as a feather as she falls in to darkness.
