《Their Human》Chapter five: friend

Damien walked in slowly, like a predator stalking it's prey. I did not know which prey he was stalking because I know it ain't me.
His eyes briefly shifted to Sei, who had his eyes closed. He seemed very relaxed, he looked like he had even fallen asleep. I looked back at Damien, seeing that his electric blue eyes had moved from the man and were now glued to my dress. He stared at every outline and curve of mine he could get his eyes on. At that moment, I really wished that I had remembered to wear a coat.
"Why are you dressed like that?" He asked in a low tone, still creeping towards me. "Don't you know that red is my favorite colour?"
"I'm sure it is," I mumbled, turning away from him. "Is there anything you need?"
"Yeah..." He said, appearing behind me. His arms wrapped around my waist and pulled me against his hard front, the warmth hitting my back. "I want you to take your clothes off and get on your knees." He whispered against my ear, rough hands rubbing my sides.
Is he crazy? Sei is right there.
I pushed his hands off me and squeezed away from him, making him groan in annoyance. Jokes on him, I was already annoyed the moment he stepped through that door.
"I told you that I don't want to do this anymore." I told him angrily. I was getting frustrated because of this. Everyday, he has to come to work with one motive, and that is to try and sleep with me. I do not care if I keep thinking about sleeping with him. My body may want one thing but my heart and mind are refusing, why won't he listen when I ask him to stop?
"Stop lying, you want this as much as I do." He said, crossing his arms defiantly. God, it feels like I'm speaking to a child that refuses to obey it's parents.
"Enough, I said no. If you aren't here for work then please leave me. I was busy with something before you walked in." I said, standing my ground.
Damien looked like he was about to explode. He looked absolutely livid. He opened his mouth, probably going to swear at me like he did yesterday. Before he could let a single word out, a loud growl rumbled from behind me, making the both of us turn to look at Sei.
He was still laying with his back on the bed and he appeared to be relaxed but his face said otherwise. He was glaring at Damien and his large canines were bared while he growled, probably his way of telling Damien that he was no longer needed here. The Head Scientist shut his mouth and glared at me, lifting his hand to point at me.

"Fine, I'll go rail someone else. Just don't come crying 'daddy' when you're in heat." He hissed at her, stomping away like last time.
I stared back at him in disgust at what he said. How could a man be so vile and disrespectful like that? Rail someone else? In heat? Was he really going to keep cheating on his fiancé with other women? Why won't he quit?
"Pervert," Sei's soft voice spoke. "A mean pervert."
"Yeah..." I said, looking down at my dress. Maybe I'm the reason for it this time. My dress isn't appropriate for work, maybe it gave him the wrong idea.
As if he read my thoughts, Sei simply stated. "Dress pretty. Like you."
"Thank you..." I said, tears slightly forming in my eyes. "I just don't understand what went wrong. He's never been so bitter or vulgar. Maybe it's because I told him I was done with what we were doing. He took it well, I don't get why he's still attached."
Sei looked confused. He didn't know that me and Damien were more than friends at some point. Maybe I should tell him. There's no one else I could vent out to. Not Mica, I don't want to lose another friend. Not Sharlene, she didn't know about me and Damien. We aren't exactly on good terms either. There was no one else. No family, no friends outside work.
Just Sei.
So I sat down on the floor and he did the same on the other side of the glass wall, wanting to hear me clearly. I told him everything, from the beginning. How he started out as this sweet and caring man. How we were both just hurt and did things to stop the pain. How we got addicted to the pleasure. How I felt guilty and wanted to stop. How I moved on and became a better version of me, just finding out now that he hadn't moved on at all. I even told him that Damien was getting married.
All of this, I tried to phrase in simple English so he could understand perfectly. There were some words that he didn't understand, like addicted or fiancé. I could see by how he scrunched his eyebrows together in confusion, then I would just explain it to him in a simple way.
"What a pleasure?" He asked me, scrunching his brows again.
"Pleasure is a nice feeling you get on your body." I tried explaining.
"How do you get a pleasure?" He asked again, his voice still so soft.
"Someone can make you feel it. Or you can do it yourself." I said, hoping he won't ask me how.

"How?"
Uh...
"Just do something that feels good to you, I guess."
He thought this through and stared at his hand. He lifted it up and placed it on his head, scratching it. I almost burst out into laughter at his cute attempt to feeling pleasure. "You're so innocent, Sei." I said, chuckling softly.
"Sei innocent?" He asked in shock, stopping his head scratches. It's like with that one statement, I changed his whole world. I did think he had an innocent personality, almost too innocent for me to believe that he did everything he's been accused of. Murder, arson, kidnapping, molestation and a few more gruesome actions.
Looking at him now, it's like I'm talking to an innocent little boy.
"Yes," I said anyways. "Sei is very innocent." He smiled at me, a dimple popping out of his left cheek that made me want to squeal and just hug him. He's so adorable! How is this man a threat to society?
I spoke to him a bit more, though it was just about useless things. We weren't close enough for me to have to ask him about his family or all the crimes he's committed. I didn't want to push him away. Tomorrow, I'm planning on asking him to let me take a hair sample from him so I could run tests on it. I have to report back to Mr Hughes in three days time and I want to have as much information as possible.
After my shift ended, I bid Sei goodbye and headed to the cafeteria for food before making my way home. Maybe speak to Sharlene if I actually see her.
I walked into the cafeteria and was engulfed by the familiar smell of multiple meals and pastries. I wondered what was today's special. Walking to the counter to make an order, I greeted the lady that usually serves lunch. She looked to be in her sixties as her large grey afro was visible under the hairnet she wore. Her dark skin was full of wrinkles and she had the kindest smile I've ever seen. She was absolutely beautiful, just like her home in Africa.
"Good day, Mrs Zulu, how are you doing today?" I asked her. She looked up at me with her beady eyes and smiled. "How are you, child? I'm doing as well as an old lady can in this weather. What a nice dress, are you going to see someone after this?" She asked.
"Oh no, it was the first thing I pulled out of my closet."
"How unfortunate. Any man would be lucky to have a beautiful woman like you. Just keep searching, you'll find that man soon, maybe even two men." She said with a coarse laugh, a cough soon following. "What shall I get you today, my child? The usual sandwich?"
"I'll have something hot today. Any suggestions?"
"I made mac and cheese, classic comfort food. I'll give you that then." She dished up the food for me and handed it over, giving me a plastic fork to eat with. I payed her and added in a tip as I always did, then made my way to the seating area of the cafeteria. I looked around the place, hoping to see a familiar face.
Mica unfortunately wasn't there today and Shar was also nowhere to be seen. I sighed and made my way to an empty table, sitting down and starting to eat my food. I should head to Sharlene's office to go see her. We aren't fighting or anything so we should be able to talk things out and fix it.
Then I could go home and finish cleaning that broken glass.
I quickly finished my food and stood up, packing away all of my trash and throwing it in the nearest bin. I took a bottle of water from one of the fridges and took a sip as I walked to the Sharlene's office. I'll get there and apologize then we can be friends again.
I finally got to her office and found the door closed. I lifted my hand up and prepared to knock but stopped when I heard the most nasty sounds coming from Sharlene's office. It was a lot of moaning and screaming, followed by the clapping of skin. I knew exactly what was happening in there but it shocked me to the point where I just moved back.
So that's why I haven't seen Mica today...
He and Sharlene are getting it on inside her lab.
I shook my head and turned around, quickly but quietly getting out of the area. It sounded nasty and I didn't want to hear my friends making children there.
With a snort, I made my way out of the building and went home.
