《Her alpha mate (Complete)✔️》Chapter Eight

After the day I'd had I decided to part ways with Charlie, Thomas and Angelica and walk home on my own only later did I realise what a stupid idea that was....
I'm close to my house when a pair of burly hands wrap around me. I scream but a hand is clamped over my mouth muffling the sound. "Shut the fuck up!" A male voice hisses as in thrown into the dirt. I cry out as I land on the ground and my back takes most of the fall. "You tortured and killed my son and my master wants to meet you, but first I think I'll take my anger out on you" he drawls and smiles wickedly I scramble backwards as he pursues me. "I'm going to hurt you so bad you'll wish you hadn't killed my son" he taunts and kicks me in my ribs I yell as his boot connects solidly with the bone and it cracks. I lie on my back breathing heavily but at the last moment I flip back into my feet and punch the guy in his nose.
"Your son was a disgusting creature whose only aim was to kill me and become the alpha of my pack!" I scream and kick him in his stomach he grunts and stumbles but manages to punch me in my face I feel my lip pop and blood pour from my split cheek. Suddenly I'm gripped by my hair and thrown into the trunk of a large tree. I see stars as my vision blurs and everything starts to fade. To my utter disbelief I see a huge black wolf leap on him and and tear him apart savagely.
All of a sudden the adrenaline I felt during the fight fades and pain swamps me I collapse onto my back and cry hollowly into the hard earth. Through blurred vision I see the wolf approach me it whines and lays it's heavy head by me showing its not a threat. A smoky firewood scent tingles my nose and the last thing I see before I pass out are the brown eyes of Sam staring at me with sadness.

I wake and find myself in my bedroom I try to get up but lie back down as a spasm of pain surges through my left side. I groan and grab my phone it has multiple texts from Angelica and Thomas.
Thomas: Where are you?
Angelica: Answer me!
Thomas: Pick up the phone!
Angelica: Lauren?! Are you ok?!
Thomas: Ffs Lauren where are you?!answer me!
I clear my phone of the texts as the door creaks open I jump and realise it's Angelica. "I was so worried! If Samson hadn't of killed that rouge you could've died!" She sobs and wraps her arms around me. I can do nothing but hug her tightly as my parents, Thomas and Charlie all congregate inside my bedroom.
"Honey! Are you ok?!" My mothers voice is filled with alarm and tears stain her cheeks. I nod wincing at the pain I receive from the action. "Doctor! She's awake!" My mum shouts and the doctor appears in the room he smiles warmly at me before checking me over.
"I have good news, the wounds she suffered are not life threatening and that cracked rib she has will heal within the next day or so for now I recommend that she rest until she feels ready to move around". He says and my father nods simultaneously with my mother before they kiss me softly on my for head and exit the room.
"We shouldn't have left you-". Thomas is cut off as a deep sob escapes his throat and he collapse on his knees next to my bed and cries I shush him as he rants about how guilty he feels for leaving.
"Wasn't your fault it was my own, I left the group because I thought the shortcut would be safe but damn was I wrong..." I trail off as Angelica pulls him away softly and wraps him in a hug.

"C'mon let's go Tom she'll be ok". Angelica coos. He reluctantly goes until it's just me and Charlie left in the room.
"Hey, are you ok? Well obviously not but do you feel ok?" She asks I nod and she sighs and runs a hand through her hair before speaking. "Sam saw everything he was out on a run and caught your scent when he seen the rouge he lost it... He wants to see you if that's ok?" I nod and she leaves and bellows Samson's name before saying she'll be outside if I need anything.
Sam comes into my room his eyes full of sadness as they look me over. "Hey" I say as he sits at the end of my bed.
"Lauren, I'm sorry I didn't get there faster." He mutters his eyes go glassy as he breathes deeply.
"Look, stop apologising it was my fault I got beat up, I took the shortcut and I stupidly split from the others so stop apologising." He nods and moves closer to me, I let him and he wraps his arm around me before kissing me lightly on my forehead.
"This may not be the right time but... Those rouges that you killed along with the ten year old what was his name?" I ask curiously. His eyes darken and his jaw clenches tightly.
"It doesn't matter, look I want to keep you safe and I've talked with your parents about it and they want you to come to my pack they've for most of your stuff together already but they think you'll be safer over there than you are here and your friends can come visit too". He tells me I'm speechless my parents talked about this behind my back?!
"No!" I yell at him and push him away roughly he bounces and falls off the bed.
"I just want to keep you safe!" He yells at me my anger boils and at this moment I see red I pull the covers off of me and stand my legs quiver but I hold myself up I refuse to be weak in front of him mate or not, alpha or not...
