Raksha Bandhan is an Indian festival celebrated to strengthen the bond between the brother and sister. And it's also another reminder of how lonely I am in life since I'm the only kid and yeah... I wish I had a sibling TvT

Today was Raksha Bandhan, an Indian festival when sisters tie a band called a Rakhi to their brothers and pray for their long life as the brother promises to protect the sister in life as the sister receives gifts from the brother. Sometimes it sucked being the only child in your family. Yes you did have a cousin but he lived in Germany and you guys were rarely on speaking terms these days since he was busy with his two sons and his wife, he had a family to take care of which made you feel left out and alone. It's not that you hated this festival, you just felt alone and you had no one to celebrate it with. You were sulking to yourself during the lunch period when Ron suddenly asked you "Y/N what's the matter, why are you feeling glum? Is there something wrong?" but you shook your head and replied that you were fine however Ron didn't believe you. He thought you were clearly upset about something which was why he offered you some of his food and you looked surprised

"Really? But what about you?" you asked him and he replied "I have more...come on, share it with me'' and you hesitated but when Ron insisted you gave in to his wishes and shared his food with him. You suddenly realized how close you were with Ron compared to the others in your class, it was like he truly got you and your wishes or something. He could read you like an open book and always seemed to know just what you were thinking or going through. He was also a really good friend. The other day some guys from another class were ogling you when you wore your traditional outfit and you've never seen Ron with a more darker and more pissed off look on his face. Not even when someone complimented his father Endeavor for that matter and praised his skills

Ron gave you his jacket that he had and told you to head with Ginny and Luna while he, Harry and Hermione had some work to take care of. You didn't suspect anything so you decided to go along with them but what you didn't know was that they dragged those incompetent morons to a secluded spot and they had a nice long chat with them. And by a nice long chat, I mean that they've hexed them till they were begging them for mercy. He made them promise to stay away from you but that doesn't mean he's done with them. He'll do whatever he can to make sure they're expelled from Hogwarts and he won't rest till he's destroyed them completely

"Y/N do you have any siblings?'' asked Ron and you shook your head as he replied "Oh that explains it'' "What do you mean?'' you asked him confused and he answered "Isn't today Raksha Bandhan? When you tie a band to a brother?" and your expression turned a bit sour but you nodded and you suddenly got an idea as a light bulb flickered in your head. It wasn't a mandatory rule or a law that you had to tie the Rakhi(The sacred band or thread tied to a brother) to someone who was only related to you, you could even tie it to someone you considered as a brother as well and you couldn't believe you forgot about that logic till now. "Actually hang on... there's something I'd like to give you'' you said and he looked puzzled as you set your bag down and rummaged through it. You always carried a Rakhi band with you in case you'd like to tie it to someone and you'd just bought it a few days ago

You asked Ron to extend his hand and when he did, you tied the band and smiled "I can't believe I've been so blind... you might not be my actual brother and I might not even be related to you but I'd like to think of you as my brother...'' and he stared at the Rakhi band on his wrist. He's never felt more happier and elated in life than this moment, he felt honored you decided to tie the band to him out of everyone else. He had a small smile on his face and he thanked you for it as he decided to invite you to his house for dinner as a way of thanking you for this and you agreed. He wrote a letter to his mother about it. "Oh how wonderful, it'll be even more easier to make her a part of the family then'' gushed Molly who already heard a lot about you from her other children and Charlie replied "I can't wait for her to become our sibling''. You didn't know that this simple act of your would compel people to take you for themselves. It all started the day you met Ron, he decided that you were too naive and innocent to be left alone which was why he decided to look out for you like a brother, in platonic way

Arthur heard a lot about you when Ron was speaking to his siblings and mother and he couldn't help but wonder who exactly you were that you've managed to capture his youngest son's interest. You've even piqued his interest as well and he was looking forward to meeting you that evening. Molly made some of your favorite Indian dishes after learning the recipes like Aloo Parathas (Stuffed with Potatoes), Gobi Manchuria, Paneer Butter Masala with some Naan(Naan is leavened flatbread prepared with all-purpose flour, wheat flour or a combination of both) with some delicious mouth watering sweets to wash it down like Rasgullas and some of your other favorite sweets. Fred and George were jealous that you tied a Rakhi to their youngest brother Ron and so were the other Weasley siblings but they consoled themselves by thinking that you were going to become a part of their family quite soon

You had a lovely time with the Weasley family and when Arthur asked "Do you really consider Ron as your brother?" and you smiled and nodded. You my dear, have no idea what you just got yourself into. Molly slipped some sleeping powder inside your drink and after you consumed it, 15 minutes prior to that you started to feel dizzy. "I think I better get going Mr and Mrs. Weasley, I don't know why but I feel sleepy'' you yawned but you failed to see the cheshire cat like glints of victory in their eyes, as they smiled slightly, like as if they knew something you didn't. "Oh dear, perhaps you better stay in for the night'' said Molly and Arthur said that he'd have a room prepared for you and you weren't really in the right state of mind at the moment but you thanked him anyways as you stayed with the Weasley family for the night. Little did you know it wasn't only for the night, it was a life time arrangement now, one that you couldn't escape from
